An orange vegetable that brings beauty. Mask with pumpkin and kefir

Hello, dear ladies! It's so cold outside today, I don't have the slightest desire to go out anywhere. So I decided to spend the whole day at home. And, of course, take care of yourself. The day is cloudy, and the soul simply requires something bright and cheerful. For example, make yourself a sunny orange mask. Of what? What could be sunnier and more cheerful than a golden pumpkin?

Masks made from it are suitable for both dry skin, on which wrinkles are already visible, and for young skin, prone to oily skin. In general, a pumpkin is a carriage that takes you back to youth and necessarily participates in the transformation of Cinderella into a princess. So I decided to remember the recipes that in my notebook are entitled “Pumpkin for the face against wrinkles.”

Pantry of vitamins

Do you know why the pumpkin is so red? This is from carotene. There is more of it in it than in carrots. And there are more than enough other vitamins. It contains:

  • Vitamin C,
  • B1 (protects skin from ultraviolet radiation),
  • B2 (anti-inflammatory effect),
  • PP (nicotinic acid),
  • folic acid,
  • E – tocopherol, which has a rejuvenating effect on the skin.

But in cosmetology there is no price for it. After all, a thick red pumpkin contains a whole bunch of antioxidants and enzymes, microelements (manganese, iodine, zinc, copper, cobalt). And also minerals: iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium - the last two, by the way, are vitamins for the heart and help get rid of edema; starch that softens and moisturizes the skin and much, much more.

Everything about this garden beauty is useful: the pulp, the juice, and the seeds. That’s why the reviews from cosmetologists about this vegetable are simply enthusiastic.

Important! Despite the high content of vitamins, pumpkin does not cause allergies. There are practically no contraindications to its external use. Therefore, you can make any masks with pumpkin, the components of which suit you.

Home workshop

You can make an absolutely incredible amount of pumpkin masks at home. Raw, boiled, and baked fruits are suitable for this. The main thing is to apply them correctly.

Is it possible to make a mistake here? Yes, easily! If you have dry skin, and you made a drying mask from Cinderella’s favorite vegetable with lemon and tomato juice, it won’t do much good.

The same vitamin mask from boiled pumpkin, depending on your needs, is made differently:

  • for normal skin - with yogurt,
  • for fatty foods - with sour cream,
  • for dry - with cream.

And, as always, you should definitely cleanse your skin before applying the mask. And ideally, also steam it. Then our pumpkin will have the best effect on the skin - regardless of its type.

We can talk about pumpkin endlessly, but I want to give only those recipes that have already been tested and are in my notebook. So, anti-aging masks from the “queen of vegetable gardens”.

From raw

Rapid rejuvenation

Grind the raw pumpkin pulp in a blender and mix in equal proportions with cottage cheese. Keep it on your face for 20 minutes.

Rejuvenate, cleanse, nourish

Raw crushed pulp (2 tablespoons) is mixed with a spoonful of olive or flaxseed oil, add a spoonful of rye or oatmeal, and keep for 20-30 minutes.

Quick mask

You can do it without interrupting other things. Rub your face with a piece of raw frozen pumpkin and wash after 20 minutes.

From boiled, steamed, stewed

With vitamin A

For two tablespoons of boiled pulp, take a spoonful of yogurt (or cream, or sour cream - this, as you already understood, will depend on your skin type), grind it, add a couple of drops of vitamin A. The carotene contained in the pulp will promote its maximum absorption. Apply the mask to slightly damp skin and leave on for 20 minutes.

Natural tightening, lifting effect

Simmer the pumpkin for 15 minutes, mix 2 tbsp. l. puree with milk and honey (1 tsp each), add 1 yolk. 20-30 minutes - and Cinderella is ready for the ball.

For swelling, wrinkles

Suitable for sensitive skin. Make puree from the steamed red beauty, 2 tbsp. l. of which we take 1 tbsp. l. freshly prepared aloe juice, and add a teaspoon of honey. Apply for 10 minutes, rinse, be sure to use cream. The mask is powerful, be careful!

I also froze this composition. The cubes turn out truly magical. Try it!

Tonic, lotion, scrub

Pumpkin juice perfectly tones the skin. It is full of benefits: it nourishes, refreshes the skin, saturates it with antioxidants, fights freckles and age spots. It can be used either freshly squeezed or frozen (cryotherapy effect).

For the body, you can make it from boiled pumpkin pulp and brown sugar, taking half a glass each and adding olive oil and honey (a tablespoon each). If desired, you can add a spoonful of coffee grounds.

Facial scrub - half a cup of pumpkin puree with three tablespoons of brown sugar and a spoonful of pumpkin seed oil (you can buy it at the pharmacy).

Don't forget about the seeds

I would like to say separately about the benefits of seeds. A “decoction of youth” is prepared from them. Take a liter of cool water for a glass of crushed seeds, pour in, bring to a boil, leave for 3-4 hours, filter. Cosmetologists speak of this decoction as simply invaluable for washing. It's a pity, it doesn't last long: a couple of days in the refrigerator - before that time it should be used.

In general, my day was not in vain, although it didn’t start well. I made a mask from one pumpkin, put the broth in the refrigerator, washed myself with a scrub, and also made a sweet cake. And I even wrote an article for you, my dear readers. I hope my recipes will help you. Stay beautiful – and don’t forget to subscribe for updates.

Benefits of pumpkin for skin

Pumpkin face masks are beneficial due to the rich vitamin composition of this vegetable. The pulp contains:

The substances listed above, even individually, are beneficial for the skin. And with a complex effect on epidermal cells, they can have a powerful antioxidant and rejuvenating effect. Besides, pumpkin pulp has a number of other useful benefits:

  • stimulates cell regeneration;
  • protects against adverse environmental influences (ultraviolet, wind, frost);
  • relieves inflammation;
  • gives radiance to the skin;
  • Thanks to the presence of zinc, it effectively fights even severe acne.

Preparation and application of the mask

Home beauty sessions will be effective if used regularly. It is recommended to carry out the procedures twice a week. To treat problem skin, use cleansing masks in courses, for example, 10 sessions every other day, A then maintenance procedures 1-2 times a week.

The product must be kept on the face for no longer than 15 minutes. During this time, it is recommended to lie down and completely relax, so that the nutrients are better absorbed by the skin.

The effect that the procedure will have also depends on the quality of the selected pumpkin. Vitamin and mineral composition may vary depending on the variety. The following varieties are most often present on the shelves:

  1. Muscat. The fruit is shaped like a pear; it is the most delicious and sweet variety. It is advisable to consume it for food and cosmetic purposes before the end of December. Later, it quickly loses its beneficial properties.
  2. Large-fruited. It is very large in size. Round in shape, flattened at the bottom and top. This variety can be stored for a very long time without losing its beneficial properties.
  3. Hard bark. It has a hard skin and many seeds. Not suitable for long-term storage; it quickly loses vitamins.
  4. Decorative. It has a small, rather miniature size and various shapes. Despite the beauty of the fruit, you should refrain from purchasing it due to the huge amount of chemicals it contains.

A pumpkin mask made from the pulp of a large-fruited pumpkin will provide the most benefits. This variety retains all vitamins throughout the year. Nutmeg is also suitable for beauty procedures, but it is better to use it only until the end of December, while the nutrients are still fully present.

You can buy intact whole fruit, but it is not recommended to take ready-made pieces. There is a high probability that they were cut off from a vegetable that has begun to deteriorate and there are mold spores in its pulp.

Pumpkin masks require crushed pulp. It must be prepared before use and used completely; during storage, its beneficial properties are lost. The fresher the ingredients, the more benefits your skin will receive. The procedure has no contraindications, with the exception of individual intolerance or allergies. Rinse the composition off your face with warm water, then cool. At the end of the procedure, apply your usual cream to your face.

Home cosmetology

Pumpkin masks can be made not only from pulp. There are recipes with pumpkin oil and even crushed seeds, but a soft base is more convenient. It does not flow, does not scratch the skin, is easily mixed with other ingredients and can solve a variety of cosmetic problems: be it fighting wrinkles or blackheads.

You can prepare the base in a blender. If you don't have a blender, a fine grater will do. For one session, no more than two tablespoons of vegetable base are needed. Other ingredients are added depending on the needs of the skin.

Anti-aging treatments

Pumpkin face masks will help restore elasticity and velvety to aging skin. Anti-aging procedures are best performed before bed. While the mixture is working on the skin, you need to lie down and relax.

For normal skin with the first signs of aging, the following composition is suitable:

  • a tablespoon of pumpkin puree;
  • yolk;
  • a teaspoon of honey;
  • a teaspoon of oatmeal (you can grind the flakes in a coffee grinder);
  • a tablespoon of full-fat sour cream or cream.

The following products will restore dry, wrinkled skin:

Oily, aging skin usually has pronounced pores. The mask should be effective against wrinkles and tighten pores. Owners of such skin should prepare:

  • 20 grams of fresh vegetable pulp;
  • beaten egg white;
  • 10 ml lemon juice;
  • 15 ml olive oil;
  • 10 grams of white clay.

To carry out the procedure, you need to choose a composition depending on your skin type. Combine all ingredients and apply to cleansed face. After removing, do not forget about the night cream.

Cleansing problematic skin

A pumpkin mask can also relieve problematic skin from inflamed comedones and oiliness. It is not difficult to make such a product with your own hands. As always, the main ingredient is pumpkin puree. The remaining products are selected depending on what problem the procedure should solve.

The following recipe will help clear pores of blackheads:

  • 30 g puree;
  • 15 grams of soda;
  • 20 grams of oatmeal;
  • 20 ml green tea.

The following composition can dry out pustules and remove redness:

  • 20 grams of fresh vegetable base;
  • 15 grams of green clay;
  • whipped egg white;
  • 10 drops of tea tree oil.

Tea tree oil can be replaced with freshly squeezed lemon juice. However, the product will be more effective with oil, as it has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. Tea tree oil is also a natural immunostimulant.

Universal face masks

Skin that does not have pronounced problems also needs additional care. Proper care will help prolong youth, provide an ideal complexion, and even out the microrelief. For such purposes, universal pumpkin masks are used. You can alternate these compositions or choose the one you like best and use it on a regular basis.

The following composition is suitable for strengthening skin of any type:

  • 20 grams of fresh puree;
  • half a teaspoon of liquid honey (melted in a water bath);
  • half a teaspoon of milk (you can choose low-fat cream).

A recipe with the addition of fatty cottage cheese will help saturate with nutrients and soften dry skin:

  • 30 grams of vegetable base;
  • 30 grams of the fattest cottage cheese (for this remedy you must use homemade cottage cheese);
  • capsule of liquid vitamins Aevit;
  • quail egg yolk.

A simple composition with kefir can moisturize the skin. For a beauty session, prepare:

  • two tablespoons of fresh base;
  • 30 ml of kefir (for normal and dry skin, choose kefir with the maximum percentage of fat content. For oily skin, only low-fat fermented milk product is suitable).

Mix the ingredients immediately before the procedure. Do not apply prepared formulations to the area around the lips and eyes.

Hair Recipes

Hair needs quality care no less than facial skin. By autumn, after the hot sun and salty sea water, the curls look weakened and dull. You can restore shine and health to your hair with a pumpkin mask.

Making your own mask is always better than buying a ready-made one. Firstly, its composition is completely natural. And secondly, the cost of one home procedure will be tens of times lower than a jar of the finished product. In this case, the amount of active ingredients in a home remedy will be greater than in a store-bought one.

When preparing a pumpkin base for a mask, you need to focus on the length of your hair. Therefore, there are no clear recommendations on the required volume of vegetable preparation. Its quantity is calculated independently.

Helps strengthen split ends and restore shine to hair a product made from the following ingredients:

  • vegetable puree;
  • three teaspoons of castor oil;
  • four teaspoons of burdock oil;
  • yolk;
  • three teaspoons of almond oil;
  • three tablespoons of coconut oil.

Combine everything in a glass container and heat in a water bath. The mixture should be warm, but its temperature should not exceed 35 degrees. Apply the composition to dry hair, coating the entire length and roots. You should do a light scalp massage for five minutes. Put on a shower cap and wrap your head with a towel. Leave the mixture on your hair for at least an hour and a half. If possible, leave the mask on for a longer time, and at the end of the procedure, wash your hair with your regular shampoo.

A remedy with pumpkin and red pepper is effective for hair loss. To achieve visible results, a course of 15-20 sessions is recommended. Perform at least 15 procedures every other day. Then maintenance procedures are required once a week. This composition is applied to the scalp. It is rubbed into the roots and left to act. The product must be left on for at least two hours.

To prepare the mask you will need:

  • pumpkin base (half a cup, no less);
  • 10 grams of crushed hot red pepper (the seeds must be removed before grinding, they are unnecessary in the mask);
  • 20 ml warm castor oil;
  • 20 grams of honey;
  • 10 ml jojoba oil;
  • 10 drops of mint oil.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Using a comb, a parting is made into which the composition is rubbed. The entire scalp is treated in this way. Distribute the rest of the product over the entire length of the curls. Massage your scalp for at least 10 minutes. Put on a shower cap and a plastic bag, insulate with a towel. During the first 15-20 minutes, warm up the mask using a hairdryer. After two hours, rinse with warm water.
