We take care of the skin of the face: how to properly carry out home procedures. Choosing the right care

Dear readers, hello everyone! Makeup artist Olga Ramazanova is with you. In my practice, I quite often encountered the fact that women simply do not know how or do not want to use skin care cosmetics. As a result, premature aging of the face, age spots, deep wrinkles, and even serious diseases of the dermis appear.

But all these problems can be avoided or delayed! If you care about your beauty and health, then read this article on how to care for your skin at home.

Skin types

Dermatologists distinguish several types of skin: oily, combination, normal and dry. The main indicator for their separation is the degree of secretion of sebum (sebum). Each type needs to be treated differently. Let's discuss this issue in detail.

Oily skin

  • Oily skin often has enlarged pores and shine if left unwashed for a long time. You will have to take care of her very carefully, because inflammation in the form of comedones and acne may appear on it. Be sure to carry out the care procedure at least 2 times a day (you can even 3 times in the summer).
  • In the morning and evening, wash your face with a gel or foam cleanser. If there is no inflammation, then you can use a sponge or brush for the face.
  • After that, the face is wiped with a tonic to narrow the pores and restore the acid balance.
  • Finally, a very light cream (or gel cream) is applied.
  • It is advisable to scrub your face every other day and use absorbent masks. During the day, matting wipes will help remove excess sebum.

It is necessary to take care of the problem face more carefully. It would be correct in this case to contact a beautician. My advice is: reduce any contact of the dermis with sources of bacteria - towels, washcloths, makeup brushes, sponges, hands and even glasses.

It will not be superfluous to iron the pillowcase on which you sleep every time. It is also necessary to exclude the use of scrubs and peels. Be very careful about various remedies for inflammation, it is better to consult a specialist.

Combination skin

  • The combined type is characterized by an oily “T” zone (forehead, nose, chin) and dry cheeks. To solve all the problems of such a person, it is necessary to carefully select cosmetics.
  • Light textures with a moisturizing effect are suitable.
  • The care takes place as always in 3 stages: cleansing, toning and nutrition (washing, tonic and day / night cream).
  • You can apply the scrub twice a week, paying special attention to problem areas where pores are clogged. After that, it is ideal to apply a deep moisturizing mask.

normal skin

  • Normal skin today is very rare. It doesn't feel oily or dry.
  • The main task of care in this case is to prolong beauty and not harm. Cosmetics should be nourishing and moisturizing with protective properties.
  • Twice a day, you must perform all 3 stages, which I wrote about above.
  • Additionally, you can carry out care procedures depending on the season or the state of health of the woman (after childbirth, surgery or other stress).

Dry skin

  • The main problem of dry dermis is the premature appearance of wrinkles. It can be dull, flaky and red.
  • Often it becomes sensitive, because there is not enough protective layer of sebum on it. There are allergic reactions to cosmetics and household chemicals, water, cold and heat.
  • For this type of cosmetics should be as nutritious as possible. In this case, you can clean your face with micellar water and do not wash, so as not to dry the dermis.
  • Tonic must be alcohol-free.
  • It is better to choose a cream with hyaluronic acid (the most powerful moisturizing component), urea and a protective SPF filter.

Zone around eyes

The skin around the eyes is very thin and delicate, so it requires special treatment. A regular face cream has a denser texture and will not be absorbed by the skin of the eyelids. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a special cream that will solve your problem: puffiness, dark circles or expression lines.

It must be applied after cleansing the face twice a day along the massage lines (as in the picture). The movements should be light and patting. It is important not to approach the edge of the eyelid so that the cream does not get into the eyes.

Seasonal Features

In winter, protection is also needed, but from the cold. Care products should be nutritious and contain vitamins, which are insufficiently supplied with food during this period.

In conclusion, I want to say that in addition to purchased cosmetics, you can use "grandmother's recipes" based on herbs, oils and other improvised means. This will help you save money and be sure of the naturalness of the components. The main thing is that the recipes are proven and fairly simple.

I wish you success in achieving your ideal of beauty! Subscribe to new blog articles and share links to the article on social networks. See you!

Every woman strives to keep her charm, and each does it in her own way. But for some reason, not everyone is able to spend a few minutes on 4 stages of daily facial care. You can constantly experiment with your hairstyle, you can spend money on expensive outfits and makeup consultations. But neither elegant clothes, nor skillful make-up and a new haircut will return a healthy look to your skin, a young oval of the face and will not smooth out fine wrinkles, and in fact they betray the age of a woman treacherously.

The first signs of skin aging (wrinkles near the eyes, around the mouth, on the neck) often go unnoticed by us. By the age of thirty, anxiety and unwillingness to admit that time is taking its toll appear. "Need to do something!" - we say to ourselves, but often for some reason we put off taking care of our skin “until later” and we catch ourselves only when its color becomes dull, wrinkles are deep, weakened skin sags, does not follow facial features so clearly, needs lifting. And we run to the beautician with the hope that he, like a magician, in an instant, will restore our youth and make us beautiful. Yes, cosmetologists can do a lot, but this does not negate the need for daily home skin care. It consists of 4 stages:

Stage 1 - Cleansing

You need to cleanse your face both in the morning and in the evening. In the morning it is a preparation of the face for applying makeup, in the evening - a night cream. When cleansing, dead flakes of the stratum corneum of the skin, stale sebum, as well as waste products of bacteria are removed. In the evening, cleansing removes makeup residues, dirt that has fallen on the face during the day, cleansed skin will be ready for maximum perception of the night cream.

When washing any type of skin, it is not recommended to use soap - it degreases it too much, after which dryness and irritation occur, soap tightens skin pores too much, not cleaning them well enough. In addition, soap is an alkali, it disrupts the normal acidity of the skin surface, destroys the lipid (fatty) barrier of the skin, which prevents the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms on it.

The face should be cleaned with gels, mousses, cosmetic milk. They almost do not violate the normal acidity of the skin, penetrate deep into the pores, dissolve solid particles of cosmetics well.

Stage 2 - Toning

After cleansing the face, be sure to wipe it with a tonic (lotion). Toning is an important moment of daily face care, for skin of any type, it should be done after each cleansing - twice a day: in the morning and in the evening. It is not true that only oily skin should be wiped with tonic. And the higher the alcohol content, the better. Even if the surface of the face is very oily, preference should be given to non-alcoholic tonics. Alcohol not only dries out normal and dry skin, but also enhances the activity of the sebaceous glands of oily skin. Dry skin should also be treated with a tonic after cleansing, with the only difference being that the tonic should be selected specifically for this type of skin.

  • removes the remains of a cleanser and decorative cosmetics from the surface of the skin;
  • moisturizes the skin, improves its tone;
  • has a slight anti-inflammatory effect;
  • normalizes the acidity of the skin surface;
  • cleanses and tightens skin pores;
  • prepares the skin for further care.

Stage 3 - Moisturizing and protection

Day cream is used in the morning or afternoon, both under makeup and without it, about half an hour before going outside. It should be applied not only on the face, but also on the neck.

The film that appears on the skin after applying the day cream performs a protective function, under it the skin suffers less from meteorological environmental factors, dust and dirt. In addition, the day cream prevents the evaporation of water from the surface of the skin, helps to maintain a sufficient level of moisture.

Day creams usually contain various active ingredients. Depending on their content and ratio, different day creams are used for different skin types, at different times of the year. In summer, you should use day creams containing sunscreens - substances that reflect or absorb ultraviolet radiation. They will protect the face from the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation, leading to "photoaging" of the skin.

Stage 4 - Nutrition

In the evening, after cleansing and toning, a “night” cream is applied. Night creams are classified as "nourishing". They are selected according to the type and condition of the skin.

Night cream is applied 1-2 hours before bedtime; if it is not completely absorbed, the remnants should be blotted with a napkin. As in the case of a day cream, it is applied not only to the face, but also to the neck and décolleté.

Never apply a nourishing face cream to the areas around the eyes. Night creams are too oily, their composition and consistency are too “heavy” for this delicate area.

All movements, both when cleansing, toning the face, and when applying creams and masks, should be made only in the direction of the lines of least stretching of the skin: from the midline of the face to the auricles. Wipe your face only with blotting movements, without stretching the skin.

These main stages of skin care can be supplemented with masks, mechanical (scrubs) and chemical peels, etc. But there is no need to apply them daily.

Eyelid skin care

The skin around the eyes requires special attention every day - it is the thinnest and most sensitive, it has few sebaceous glands, it is highly extensible. Edema easily forms on the eyelids, wrinkles appear first of all. Applying and removing make-up is tiring and irritates the skin around the eyes. Therefore, cosmetics applied to this area should be of the highest quality.

Eye creams have a particularly light texture and are well absorbed. They should be applied morning and evening after preliminary cleaning of the eyelids.

Do not use face creams on your eyelids. For the skin around the eyes, use only products specially created for this area, tested by ophthalmological control.

Apply and remove cosmetics from the eyelids carefully, observing the directions of the least stretching of the skin (under the eye, movements should be directed towards the nose, and above the eye - towards the temple).

Clean your eyelids only with special gels and lotions. Protect your eyelid skin from the bright sun, choose products with ultraviolet filters.

Lip care

The skin of the lips is very thin, always exposed to wind, sun, frost and dry air. It does not have sebaceous glands, so it needs daily hydration and nutrition. Constant contraction of the facial muscles of the mouth contributes to the formation of wrinkles around the lips.

At night, and also when you do not apply decorative cosmetics, use special lip skin care products.

Pay attention to your lipstick contains moisturizing and softening ingredients, vitamins and UV filters. As a rule, lipsticks of reputable companies meet these requirements, and they are quite expensive. But remember that lipstick is not only on your lips throughout the day - most of it is eaten by you, so you should not use cheap lipsticks.

Neck care

The skin of the neck is very delicate and thin, it is prone to dryness, sagging, wrinkling, so it needs additional hydration and nutrition already in its youth.

Gradually caring for the face in the morning and evening, be sure to remember the neck. You can take care of it with the same products that you treat your face with: clean with cosmetic milk, wipe with tonic and apply a cream appropriate for the time of day. Some cosmetics manufacturers produce special products for neck care. They differ in that they do not leave marks on clothes.

If you learn how to properly care for your skin, it will not take much time. Give yourself 10 minutes in the morning and evening to cleanse and tone, during the day to moisturize, and in the evening to nourish your skin.

Your skin will respond positively to these treatments, but don't expect instant results the next day or a week later. Permanent changes in your appearance will not occur earlier than in a month, since each new cell needs to go through a full life cycle, which is 28 days. Don't move your facials over the weekend when you're more free. Only daily attention to yourself will reward you with smooth, supple skin that will retain its youth for many years.

Makeup decorates a woman and makes her brighter, but even the most correct and flawless makeup cannot hide skin imperfections. And in order for the skin to have a healthy appearance, it must be properly and carefully looked after. The most important indicator of beauty is grooming, and only proper daily skin care will help you always look well-groomed.

And on well-groomed skin and makeup looks different. Our step-by-step guide will teach you how to properly care for your skin in order to always look flawless.

Step one. Determine your skin type

In order to carry out proper facial skin care, first of all, you should know your skin type in order to choose the right cosmetics. After all, if you have oily facial skin, then it should not be over-nourished, and if dry, then it should not be should be dried with various masks and tonics. You can determine your skin type yourself.

Dry skin very tender and thin, at a young age she is very beautiful, no pimples, blackheads and enlarged pores. But with age, dry skin more and more lacks moisture and nutrition, and without getting it, it quickly fades. Often dry skin is sensitive and prone to flaking and irritation.

Oily skin very different from dry. It is more dense, rough, with enlarged pores. But the big plus of oily skin is that it itself produces a protective film, and, therefore, such skin is better than others protected from the harmful effects of the environment. Oily skin, unlike dry skin, ages much more slowly, but due to excessive sebum secretion, acne and pimples often appear on oily skin, and enlarged pores do not look aesthetically pleasing. But if you properly care for such skin, then it can acquire a clear and clean look.

Combination skin At first glance it seems normal, which is not far from the truth. The middle zone of the face with combination skin is oilier than the rest of the face. Cheeks may even be prone to dryness.

normal skin is quite rare in adults. It is even, smooth, soft and elastic, like a child's.

Step two. Learn how to properly take care of your skin every day.

Having decided on the type of skin, it is advisable to buy care products specifically for your skin type. It is advisable not to purchase funds from the “for all types” series. These products may be of good quality, but in order for your skin to get exactly what it needs, the care products must be selected correctly. The basic facial skin care products are the same - this is a makeup remover (you can’t wash your face with soap, as it contains alkali and disrupts the natural balance of the skin), tonic, day and night cream, eye cream, and scrubs.

Creams should be divided into day and night, because they have completely different purposes and functions. The day cream forms a protective film on the skin, it should protect our skin from the harmful effects of the environment, but the night cream should be more active, because at night our skin is more susceptible to care products. So the night cream should contain a lot of useful substances and vitamins. Now we will talk about the care of each skin type separately.

Dry skin care program

To cleanse dry skin, it is desirable to use fatty milk. It is enough to use it once a day, in the evening. In the morning, it is enough to rinse your face with water. Face tonic for dry skin should not contain alcohol. It should be a mild lotion with botanicals and moisturizers. You can also make your own tonic.

Softening toner for dry skin:
Brew one tablespoon of green tea with hot mineral water, add linden (flowers) there, let it brew for two hours, strain and refrigerate. Green tea is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, while linden flowers have soothing and softening properties.

Creams for dry skin, in addition to moisturizing substances, must also contain nutritious ones, because carefor dry skin includes active nutrition and hydration. Day cream must be with factors that protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation. Night cream should be nourishing and regenerating.
Eye cream should be started when the first wrinkles appear.
Exfoliating agents should not be abused. Instead of a scrub, it is advisable to purchase a gommage. This is a more gentle exfoliator designed for sensitive skin. It should be applied once a week.
Nourishing and moisturizing masks can be done two to three times a week. It would be nice to alternate ready-made purchased masks with homemade ones. Sour cream, honey, olive oil are well suited for such masks.

Oily skin care program

Cleansing is the foundation oily skin care, because the problem of oily skin is shine and excessive secretion of sebum. Well suited gel for washing with bactericidal and anti-inflammatory additives. You should wash your face with such a gel both in the morning and in the evening. Oily skin should also be used without fail. The tonic should contain alcohol and anti-inflammatory and pore-tightening substances. Tonic can be prepared independently:

Cleansing toner for oily skin:

Brew one tablespoon of calendula with hot mineral water (one glass), let it brew, strain, add a teaspoon of vodka and lemon juice. Keep refrigerated.

Eye cream should be applied when the first wrinkles appear, because the skin under the eyes is four times thinner than the skin of the face, and even with oily skin, the skin of the eyelids remains dry and unprotected. Scrub for oily skin is simply necessary, it should be applied two to three times a week.
Cleansing and anti-inflammatory masks should also be applied two to three times a week. Dry yeast masks are good for homemade masks for oily skin, they contain B vitamins, which are very useful for oily skin. Dilute the yeast with hydrogen peroxide to a slurry state, such a mask is applied for 20 minutes.

Combination skin care program

It is best to cleanse combination skin with preparations that are washed off with water. If the T-zone is too oily, then the cleanser should be used both in the morning and in the evening. And if not, then a thorough evening cleaning will be enough. Tonic can only be used for the middle part of the face, where there is excess sebum and oily sheen. You can also make your own tonic.

Tonic for combination skin:
We brew green tea (1 tablespoon) in glasses of hot mineral water and add lemon juice there. Green tea will give the skin the necessary vitamins, and lemon will tighten the pores where it is needed.

It is advisable to purchase creams specifically for combination skin, they contain a lot of moisture, but not too much oil. And if, for example, the skin of the T-zone is too oily, and the cheeks and neck are prone to dryness, then it is best to purchase two different creams for these zones.
Eye cream for any type of skin is used when the first wrinkles appear, approximately this happens after 25 years.
For combination skin, peeling should be applied twice a week.
for such skin, it is best to do it separately for different areas of the face. Where nourishment is required - nourish, and where it is not required - moisturize.

Step three. Additional skin care tips

You have learned how to properly care for your skin, but in addition to this, there are also general and no less important rules for skin care. It is advisable to read and remember them carefully.

Five important additional tips:

Never go to bed without removing makeup from your face.

Even if you use very expensive and good cosmetics, skin care must be correct. At night, the skin should be clean. And do not forget to apply a restorative cream at night. Day face cream must contain filters that protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation, this will protect the skin from premature aging. And in order to properly and timely take care of yourself, make up your personal

Do not use bioactive creams and anti-wrinkle creams unless absolutely necessary. There is a cream for every age. Active creams should be used only after forty years. Our skin, starting to receive active and strong substances, ceases to produce the necessary and useful substances on its own. She just gets used to the fact that these substances give her anyway. Therefore, you will constantly need to apply more and more strong and active creams. Good cosmetic companies make creams that are specially suitable not only for skin type, but also for age. On such creams it is written right away what age they are intended for. A daytime moisturizer is best applied to dry skin, and a nourishing night cream to wet skin.

As often as possible, use natural vegetables, fruits and berries for face care.

Try to get enough sleep. It would be nice to accustom yourself to go to bed early and get up early. Do not forget to periodically drink vitamin complexes, the lack of vitamins and minerals has a very negative effect on the condition of the skin and hair. We hope that our step-by-step instructions will help you learn how to take care of your skin. Take care of your skin and it will thank you!

Is it really necessary to change facial care in winter or should it be based on the type, condition and needs of the skin?

With the change of season, not only the wardrobe and mood change, but also the condition of the skin, regardless of its type. Winter is cold and windy. In such weather, the sebaceous glands produce less subcutaneous fat, and in the dry air of heated rooms, a sharp violation of the hydrolipidic balance of the skin occurs, the protective barrier is broken, and sensitivity is exacerbated. As a result, the skin begins to peel off, redden and give a feeling of discomfort - all these are signs of critical dehydration. In addition to external factors, there is an internal restructuring of the body associated with seasonal hormonal fluctuations, which affects the metabolism in the skin. Such changes are difficult to ignore, so you should reconsider your care program.

What skin care is optimal in winter in a metropolis?

Now the skin needs more gentle cleansing and care, as well as additional cosmetic products that will help restore and maintain its natural balance. What should be the care in the winter? The basic steps of daily care are the same: cleansing, toning, day / night cream. You should change the means themselves, based on the changed needs of the skin.

To cleanse any type of skin in winter, it is recommended to use only “soft” products without alcohol. With oily skin during this period, it is better to switch to creams for normal or combination skin, and for normal type, use products for dry skin. You can also enrich your care program with additional products: moisturizing serum, mask, oil. It is important in cold weather not to forget about hand cream and lip balm.

How should care change if you fly on vacation to warm countries in winter?

Flights, climate change are stressful for the body in general and for the skin in particular. This means that there are many more reasons for dehydration. There is also a risk of signs of fatigue on the face. Additional products, such as concentrates, will help to avoid trouble and provide a fresh, healthy look to your skin.

What beauty products should be avoided in cold weather?

You should postpone aggressive cleansers, products with a high content of ethyl alcohol, as well as everything that provokes dry skin, including highly matting cosmetic products. However, in winter you should not refuse sunscreens: frost is often accompanied by the sun, the ultraviolet rays of which do not lose their activity. Also, when reading recommendations and advice, do not forget about individual characteristics, closely monitor the “mood” of your skin and adjust the care program to suit its needs.

How do changes in temperature and humidity affect the condition of the skin and how can it be helped?

In the harsh Russian climate, central heating and other troubles, almost everyone experiences the problem of dry skin during the cold season. Temperature fluctuations affect not only our well-being, but also on the skin. Dehydration and peeling can occur due to frosty air outside, as well as dry air in homes that have heating and air conditioning.

Elena Alekseeva, Kiehl's expert

What ingredients should be preferred?

Itching may occur due to snow or gusts of wind. Creams containing film-forming substances and antioxidants will come to the rescue. To help the skin cope with dryness, it needs to be moisturized. It is ideal to do this in the evening, after taking a bath or shower, when there is still a lot of moisture in the skin. Any moisturizer with a comfortable texture will do. It's good if it contains hyaluronic acid, silicones, a small amount of glycerin or sorbitol. Be careful: with an increase in skin moisture, the likelihood of frostbite increases. Therefore, before going out into the cold, it is not recommended to use intensely moisturizing creams that “lock” water in the skin. I also want to remind you that if the selected product has a gel base, then it must be applied at least an hour before going outside.

Does it make sense to switch to cleansing in winter, removing impurities and makeup only with a micellar solution?

Personally, I don't really like the idea of cleansing my skin without water. In this case, fat and dirt are not removed well enough, which, sooner or later, can lead to inflammation. Cleansing with micellar water on a daily basis can lead to damage to the protective barrier and irritation, since, in fact, these are surfactants that we leave on the face. Most experts advise rinsing it off with water.

A skin cleansing system without water (for example, using milk) can only be suitable for very dry and sensitive skin, which is uncomfortable with the washing process and reacts to contact with water with severe redness and irritation.

What does a simple and effective home care system look like in winter?

Ideally, a skin care ritual should consist of at least three products. Firstly, it is a cleanser that does not damage the protective barrier (preferably without alcohol and sulfates). Secondly, a moisturizer with film-forming agents, natural oils and antioxidants. Thirdly, a nightly restorative concentrate type. Also in winter, additional care is required. Moisturizing masks are recommended to be done at least 2-3 times a week, because now the skin is losing a lot of water.

Does the skin need special care in winter?

In winter, the skin of the body is under constant cover. On the one hand, she is warm, on the other hand, clothes can become a source of irritation. The skin loses moisture faster, and with it a healthy color. The body skin care algorithm is the same as for the face. But if you take a shower in the morning and in the evening, then do not use shower gel every time - the skin does not need such intensive cleansing.

It will be great if you pay attention to the composition of your body care products. Let there be oils, vitamins and minerals. Use soft scrubs 1-2 times a week. Do not forget about the 3-minute rule: immediately after water procedures, you need to apply a moisturizer, because when the skin is steamed and the pores are enlarged, the conductivity of useful components improves.

Alexey Mironenko, national expert Biotherm

There is an opinion that the cream should be applied half an hour before going outside. Is it so?

When applying the cream, its temperature rises due to rubbing between the fingers and from the temperature of the skin of the face. As a result, the temperatures of the cream and the skin are compared, amounting to 36 degrees. This is an additional mechanism for absorption and activation of the cream. Obviously, at this temperature, the cream cannot freeze. There is little water in it, but there are a lot of moisturizing components (lipids, sugars) that do not freeze. Moreover, special moisturizing products for face care in winter have now been created. The formula with natural oils protects the skin from unpleasant redness in cold windy weather. However, in winter, moisturizer should be applied at least half an hour before going out so that it has time to absorb, act and protect the skin in the cold.

Which care option is more effective: one rich, dense cream or layering of light textures?

In winter, it is worth giving preference to more saturated nutritious textures, but this does not negate the layering. Look at your makeup remover: you might want to use oil in the winter, even if you don't have dry skin. Also, in winter, most likely, it will be more comfortable with a tonic for dry skin. Great if you are using a serum. Have you tried oil-based serums? They can also be used for combination skin. Of course, your cream in winter should be more nutritious than in summer. Which one - you need to proceed from the needs of the skin.

Maybe just oil is enough?

Oil in winter is what the skin needs, but it alone is not enough. In the vast majority of cases, the skin is dehydrated in winter. This happens for several reasons: heating in the premises, changes in water quality, other food, cold, wind, snow. Don't forget your moisturizer, even if you think your skin is flawless.

How else to help the skin in the cold?

Of course, drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day. Green and herbal teas can be great sources of moisture and warmth, as well as skin-friendly antioxidants. The drying effect of heating can be reduced with a humidifier and regular ventilation. In nutrition, one should not forget about seasonal fruits, vegetables, first courses and foods containing Omega-3 fatty acids (fish). Any non-exhausting sports exercises have a positive effect on the condition of the skin in winter. A contrast shower is also useful.

Our nature is so interesting - we are born with a different set of genes, in fact, each person is unique. This applies to everything from nose size to how you will look in your 20s, 40s and 60s.

We cannot change what is given to us beyond recognition (except to spend money on plastic surgery, but we all know that this trick only disfigures women). We can only learn how to properly care for our appearance, in particular, facial skin at home.

Some people have naturally oily skin, while others have dry and thin skin, it is believed that in modern conditions, normal skin is very rare, more often combined - Skin can behave differently depending on the time of year and temperature and weather conditions.

We cannot completely change our skin type - so DO NOT believe the tricks of advertisers who assure you that your skin will forever cease to be oily from their miracle remedy! But, if you choose cosmetics that suit your skin type and properly care for it, then it will look healthier, and really get fat an order of magnitude less.

So, let's figure out how to make your daily skin care more effective.

1. Determine the type of skin

Oily skin

The skin of this type is usually thicker, the pores are clearly visible and enlarged. The skin has a greasy sheen, due to which it collects all the dirt and dust on itself - which is why oily skin often suffers from rashes and acne. Advantage - due to the thickness and protection against overdrying, oily skin is not prone to wrinkles, so the owners of this type of skin (if they learn how to properly care for it) will look young for a long time.

Dry skin

In order for the skin to be protected from environmental influences and look perfect, you need it - the first is to cleanse, the second is to tone, and the third is to moisturize/nourish. All of these facials can be done at home.

You need to perform all these actions in the morning and in the evening, with the only difference being that in the morning - after cleansing and toning, we moisturize the skin, and in the evening - nourish it. Do not think that in the morning you can do without the first two points and just start applying cosmetics to the cream(or without it!).

After all, while we sleep, the sebaceous glands also work, we rub our face against the pillow, and collect dust and bacteria on it, which will gladly give you inflammation and acne if you do not carefully carry out all morning procedures. The means for these care processes must be chosen according to the type of skin (have you already decided on it in the previous paragraph?).

3.Your skin type is not forever

Skin type can change throughout life, so cosmetics should be selected based on how your skin feels and looks now. In summer, usually any type of skin releases more oil, in winter it is drier. The work of the sebaceous glands is also affected by hormones and nutrition. For example, with the advent of menopause, the skin becomes dry, and the addition of polyunsaturated fatty acids to the diet makes dry skin normal.

4.Features of facial care by skin types

If you use mass-market cosmetics, check the composition of the products. Try to choose the most natural (read in this case - harmless) means.

IMPORTANT! For oily skin, we don’t use tonics with alcohol (this is exactly what inexperienced young girls do - after all, you really want to degrease oily skin, but this can only exacerbate the problem). Also, for oily skin, creams on a fatty basis and without a mark about the absence of comedogenicity are contraindicated.

IMPORTANT: For dry skin, choose mild, non-aggressive cleansers and toners. But fat-free creams are not suitable here. Dry skin is especially important to protect from ultraviolet rays and frost. Therefore, in the summer, do not go out without a protective moisturizer, and in the winter without a fat-nourishing one. And before going outside, it is desirable to pass 30 minutes.

IMPORTANT: For combination skin, appropriate care for its various areas is important.

Any type of skin should not be rubbed heavily when cleansing or toning, all movements should be light and smooth. You need to wash yourself first with warm water, then you can slightly reduce the temperature - we do not injure the skin with ice water.

After all, the temperature contributes to the opening of the pores, in warm water - they open easier and you can cleanse the skin much better.

The cream should be applied with patting soft movements (do not rub or rub!), In certain directions:

  • on forehead: with both hands towards the temples, from bottom to top;
  • areas around the eyes: on the eyelid from the bridge of the nose to the corners of the eyes, under the eyes - in the opposite direction with both hands at the same time;
  • on cheeks: from nose to temples;
  • around lips: on the chin - from the center in both directions, from above - from the corners of the mouth to the bases of the wings of the nose;
  • on the neck: first in the middle, then gently rub in both directions on the side surfaces.

It is also important to observe the correct application of creams. Creams and serums are recommended to be applied to wet skin, but sunscreens are recommended to be applied to dry skin. In addition, you can not wipe your face with a towel - just blot and then preferably with napkins.

Mass-market cosmetics, that is, advertised cosmetics sold in ordinary perfume stores, as a rule, contain toxic petrochemicals. 90% of the cost of these properties goes to the formation of an advertising campaign and product promotion.

All those pretty girls with glowing peach faces who smile at us from screens and labels make us buy these products. We also want to look just as stunning. And at this moment we are not at all wondering what is included in the composition of such cosmetics? What is included in these remaining meager 10% of the price?

7. Go for an examination

Problematic skin directly speaks of problems in the body. Therefore, no matter how wonderful means you smear it, it will only help to slightly eliminate the consequences, but will not solve the problem.

Instead of buying another acne tonic, consult an endocrinologist- Most often, problematic skin is the result of hormonal or nutritional disorders.

8. Use a scrub

In order for moisturizing and nourishing creams and serums to better penetrate the skin structure and work there, you must remove all possible barriers to this. And this means - thoroughly cleanse the skin of dirt (using milk, foam, gommage, gel) and dead epithelium (using scrubs).

For oily skin For this, you can use exfoliating scrubs quite often.

But when dry- no more than once a week, while it is better to select only soft scrubs - so as not to damage thin skin.

9. Making face masks at home

Several times a week, apply natural oils to the skin for rejuvenation (argan oil, masket roses, immortelle, evening primrose). This must be done in the evenings, applied - on wet skin with massage movements, and on top - a moisturizer.

Do not wash with tap water!

Ordinary tap water can be hard - it contains magnesium and calcium salts, which, with prolonged use, dry out the skin. This is especially dangerous for dry skin, it may begin to peel off, although all care products have been chosen correctly by you.

In order to soften the water, it must be boiled and add a quarter teaspoon of soda (optional - half a teaspoon of borax, one tablespoon of glycerin or lemon juice - for oily skin). If the skin is too sensitive, it is good to dilute boiled water in half with milk (temperature 24-25C).
