How to make paper carnations by hand. How to make a carnation with your own hands from corrugated paper

Rita Vasilievna Alekhanova

Work on the manufacture of products from paper promotes the development of hand muscles, improves the child’s eye, and prepares him to develop writing skills. Labor skills acquired by a child during processing paper, become the basis for training in other types of work; and the practical skills that are being developed allow one to successfully master the rules and techniques for processing other materials. In addition, crafts from paper are widely used in children's lives. Therefore, when making them, children from an early age realize the expediency of their work and its practical significance. Such work helps to cultivate hard work and a desire to benefit others.

So let's get started. For the manufacture of carnation, we cut from colored paper sixteen-pointed stars, 10 cm in diameter, 5 pieces per flower, yellow circles paper for the center of the flower.

Cut along the lines without reaching the middle.

Fold the resulting petals in half lengthwise to create “rays”. When all the blanks are ready, turn them over and begin assembling the flower. We smear the middle of one workpiece with glue and glue the second workpiece to it in a checkerboard pattern so that there are no gaps between the “rays”. We glue the remaining blanks in the same way. Glue yellow circles in the middle paper. The flower is ready.

IN master-not only children, but also teachers took part in the class.

We decorate the basket drawn on whatman paper with flowers.

This is what we got.

Making beautiful paper carnations

The carnation is a flower that is invariably associated with victory. We carry it and give it to veterans on May 9th, placing them on monuments, remembering those who fell in battle. The image of a slight sadness is associated with the image of a carnation, although previously it, especially a red one, meant passionate love. Now she is more likely image of courage, perseverance and bravery- all the things that distinguished our soldiers during the war.

It’s not a sin to give this unusually beautiful and lush plant to your friend for her birthday; anyone will be delighted with a bouquet of carnations. But a living plant will wither and will not please the eye for long.

Maybe it would be better to make it from corrugated paper? Then you can decorate a postcard with such carnations, or decorate some kind of gift, and they, bright and life-like, will leave a long memory for the one to whom you give it.

In our article we will tell several ways to make cloves made from corrugated paper with your own hands.

Making a delicate bouquet of carnations

For this craft we will need:

  • Corrugated paper pink, red, white
  • Glue (it is better to use PVA glue)
  • Scissors
  • A little wire for the stem or you can use stems from store-bought artificial flowers
  • Green ribbon

Having collected everything you need, start the process of making carnations:

  1. Cut a strip of corrugated paper about 4 centimeters wide. We fold it like an accordion.
  2. We round the resulting volumetric square at the top with scissors.
  3. Unfold the tape and take the wire that needs to be coated with glue. We wind our ribbon around it, forming petals and making our flower look like a living carnation.
  4. We wrap green tape around the wire, securing the ends. You can use type tape.
  5. All. If necessary, make the required number of flowers in the same way as this method. They don’t have to be packaged in any way; you can give them as a gift right away.

Strict red carnations

This manufacturing method differs from the first not only in the necessary operations, but also composition of necessary materials for crafts:

  • Corrugated paper red, white and green
  • Scissors
  • PVA glue
  • Type tape
  • Skewers

Let's start creating our own carnations:

  1. We cut the red or white corrugated paper into squares, each of which must be folded in half twice. The blanks need to be rounded at the edges with scissors.
  2. For one flower you need to take four blanks. We cut each of them with fringe, leaving one corner untouched.
  3. We apply glue to the end of the skewer and wrap it with a thin strip of corrugated paper of the same color as our workpiece. We secure a strip of corrugated paper with tape. We have the middle of the flower.
  4. We string our round blanks onto a skewer from the other end and move them to the middle of the flower, securing them with glue, we form a bud.
  5. We wrap the remaining part of the skewer with tape. We make leaves from green corrugated paper and glue them to the stem.
  6. We create the required number of flowers in the same way. You can vary the sizes of flowers, getting amazing compositions.

Making cloves with candy

If you think that just a flower is not enough to completely surprise and delight a person, then make a real bouquet of sweets with your own hands. To do this you need to stock up:

  • Corrugated paper
  • Wooden skewers
  • Glue gun
  • Candies (no need to remove them from the wrapper)

Making a carnation with a candy in the middle is much easier than it might seem at first:

  1. We attach the candy itself to the skewer using a glue gun.
  2. Then we make a bud: we take a wide ribbon of corrugated paper, coat one edge of it with glue from a gun and attach the ribbon to the candy, as if wrapping it. When wrapping candy, make an overlap of a centimeter and a half. The edges of the ribbon may not be processed in any way, but you can make a fringe.
  3. Having wound a sufficient amount of tape on a skewer, you need to bend and stretch the corrugated paper, giving its “petals” a wave-like shape.
  4. That's all. Make a lot of these carnations and please your friends with an unusual, memorable and tasty gift.

Large carnation buds

If you want to create carnation buds, distinguished by special splendor, then use this method. It's even simpler than the first two.

We will need:

  • Corrugated paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Wire
  • Green ribbon

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Cut a piece of tape that will be 45 centimeters long and 8 centimeters wide.
  2. Bend the long edge of the strip three centimeters. We extend this edge and form “waves”.
  3. Then we wind the corrugation onto the wire in “waves” upward. We fix the flower at the base with an invisible thread or thin wire.
  4. We cut off the excess and wrap the wire with green tape.
  5. Our carnation is ready!

Many people associate carnations with the symbol of Victory Day. It is these flowers that can be seen in the hands of veterans, also at the eternal flame or memorial place. can be an excellent gift not only for the Great Victory Day, but also for other special occasions. All that remains is to figure out how to make a carnation from corrugated paper with your own hands.

A little history

Red carnations symbolize courage and are unspoken signs of freedom, fidelity, and shed blood. Since ancient times, this flower has symbolized the winner. This tradition originates in France; it was with these flowers that men went to war, and they received them from their lovers. Women waited for their spouses and grooms from the battlefields safe and sound. It is no coincidence that the ribbon decorating the Order of the Legion of Honor is red.

What you need for crafts

Before you begin, you need to have the following materials on hand:

  • paper of two colors (red and green);
  • scissors;
  • coil of wire;
  • glue.

A little trick. The paper does not necessarily have to be corrugated. You can take a simple napkin or a regular colored sheet. If we talk about the color of carnations, then red is ideal for Victory Day, but flowers can be white, yellow, orange, and any other color. It all depends on the choice of the needlewoman.

Simple clove option

There are several easy ways to make a paper flower. In the first case, everything will look like this.

How to make your own carnation from corrugated paper? Master class for beginner needlewomen:

  1. A strip 5 cm wide is cut from red paper (or any other color). As for the length, it corresponds to the length of the paper.
  2. Several cuts are made, maintaining a distance of 0.5 cm between them.
  3. A piece is cut from a coil of wire equal to the length of the flower stem.
  4. A strip of paper is wound onto a wire in several layers that need to be glued.
  5. The stem is wrapped in green paper.
  6. For greater resemblance to a real flower, it is recommended to make several leaves also from green paper and glue them to the stem.

What other options are there for making your own carnations from corrugated paper?

How else can you make cloves?

This method is very simple. Both children and adults will understand it. To work you will need a set of the following tools:

  • corrugated paper, one sheet of which will be the main color (as you plan to make the carnation) and the second green, to make leaves and stems;
  • scissors;
  • hot glue gun;
  • threads

Making carnations from corrugated paper with your own hands step by step

Anyone who has seen a carnation probably knows that there can be several flowers on one branch. Therefore, to make the craft look more realistic, it makes sense to prepare several flowers at once. So, to create one carnation you need:

  1. Cut several strips with a width of 2.5 cm and a length of approximately 5 cm.
  2. A petal is cut out from the strip.
  3. Then stretch the workpiece and make small cuts along the edge.
  4. To get a beautiful flower, you will need about 10 petals, the size of the bud depends on their number.
  5. Fold the prepared petal into an accordion shape and repeat with the rest.
  6. Each one must be tied with a thread so that it does not fall apart.
  7. Once all the petals have been collected, the central part of the flower can be considered complete.
  8. Then you will need to make a few more petals to form the outer part.
  9. The length of the blanks is as in the previous version, only the width must be halved.
  10. The petals are also cut out and stretched.
  11. It is important not to forget to make small cuts along the top of the workpieces.
  12. Petals are prepared in quantities of 10 pieces.
  13. The outer petals are fixed around the core of the flower.

Your DIY corrugated paper carnation is almost ready.

How to collect a flower

The stages of collecting a flower are as follows.

  1. First you need to make the sepals. For this part of the craft you will need green paper, from which a strip is cut.
  2. Then the edges are cut in the same way as when working on a flower.
  3. The upper part is stretched a little, and then a recess is made.
  4. The workpiece must be twisted in such a way as to form a cup.
  5. The flower is inserted into the sepal and secured with glue.
  1. The strip is selected to the length required for the craft (selected individually), and the width is about 1.5 cm.
  2. The workpiece is rolled into a tube, and the edge is secured with glue.
  3. The flower is attached to the stem.
  4. If you planned to make several flowers, then you will need sepals for each.
  5. To keep the structure strong, all parts are glued.

Well, what is a flower without leaves? It's very easy to make them. Blanks with pointed ends, about 0.8 cm wide, are cut out of green paper. They are attached to the stems. The result is a beautiful DIY corrugated paper carnation.

DIY paper carnation will be an excellent alternative to a bouquet of fresh flowers. This can be used not only as a gift, but also as an original decoration for a hand-made postcard, gift wrapping, or as a detail for decorating various panels.

DIY paper carnation: ideas

You can easily make such an original craft from ordinary colored paper, which you probably have at home. If you want to get a chic lush flower or even a beautiful bouquet, in this case it is better to use corrugated or papyrus paper.

As for the choice of color, there are no restrictions. You can safely choose even those colors that are unlikely to be found in nature. Experiment with different shades or make multi-colored ones that will look great in the form of a chic bouquet.

DIY paper carnation: photo instructions and a detailed description of the manufacturing process.

For this craft, you need to prepare corrugated paper in green, orange or red shades. You will also need scissors, some glue and pieces of strong wire, which will become the basis for the stem.

First of all, you need to cut out four red squares measuring ten by ten centimeters. Fold each square in half three times (snowflakes are made in a similar way). Round the corners of the workpiece so that when unfolded you get a circle. Next, shape the edges of the petals, making them jagged. To separate the petals, make several cuts on the sides and one in the center. The depth of the cuts should be approximately two centimeters. After this, you can level the workpieces.

For the stem, take a wire, make a loop on top and cover it with red paper. Next, you need to string all the tiers of the workpiece onto it, smeared with glue in the center. Also prepare the sepals. To do this, cut out a green strip six centimeters wide and make cloves three to four centimeters deep on it. Apply glue to the bases of the petals and glue the sepals, wrapping them around the stem once. To decorate the stem, wrap it with a thin strip of green paper or special floral tape. The leaves can be cut out to any size and glued at different heights simultaneously with the design of the stem.

DIY paper carnation: master class

Papyrus paper makes incredibly tender, beautiful and fluffy ones.

For work, prepare: papyrus paper, scissors, several clips for fixing the blanks, a red or pink marker (you can use felt-tip pens or paints), a cardboard circle template, a simple pencil, a needle, a piece of colored wire (you will use it to pierce the flower), green electrical tape . Instead of a cardboard circle template, you can use a compass or any other round-shaped object.

Fold a piece of paper measuring twenty by twenty-four centimeters several times so that its sides become about eight centimeters long. On the resulting blank, you need to draw or circle a circle, the diameter of which is seven centimeters, and cut it out. From one blank you will get eight circles, while you need to prepare forty-eight.

When cutting out circles, hold the paper firmly so that they all turn out even. It is more convenient to do this by securing the paper with special clips on both sides of the circle.

You can draw the circle of the workpiece with a marker or felt-tip pen. This should be done carefully so that there are no unpainted areas left. Don't be afraid to use bright colors, on the contrary, they will make your carnation even more interesting. And don't forget to paint the areas that are under the clips. To do this, you just need to move them a little to the side.

When the sides of the workpiece are decorated, the clips can be removed and you can proceed directly to assembling the flower, for which you will need about eight to twelve petals. Count out the required number of circles, stack them on top of each other, and then make two holes in the center with a needle. Insert the wire into one hole in such a way that it protrudes above the surface by about a centimeter and a half. After this, bend the wire, pass it through the second hole and twist both ends together from below.

When the stem is formed, you can begin to give the workpiece a fluffy shape. To do this, the circles need to be lifted up and slightly crushed with your hands. You should not crumple all the blanks at once, because in this case all the tiers of your carnation will exactly repeat the shape of each other, and you will not achieve the required volume.

You also need to take care of the design of the stem. To do this, you can wrap it with green electrical tape or use a special floral tape. Such step by step DIY paper carnation will help you learn how to create not only individual flowers, but also unusual multi-colored bouquets or even entire compositions.

No less beautiful DIY paper carnation (photo attached) is obtained from ordinary paper napkins.

For work you will need: bright napkins, cocktail straws and green ribbon.

First, tear off a strip one centimeter wide from the napkin. Next, fold the napkin into an accordion shape and tie it in the middle with a torn strip. Then it’s even easier: you need to turn the napkin over so that the knot is on the bottom, and fluff the petals of the future flower with your hands, bending them down at a right angle. Finally, attach a green cocktail straw to the blank. If you have a tube of some other shade, this is easy to fix. You just need to tie it tightly with green ribbon or braid. For this purpose, you can also use a napkin of a suitable color, which can be glued to the tube for reliability. As you can see, everything is done very simply and quickly, so it’s quite possible to involve children in the work.

To make these flowers we will need:

  • corrugated paper red, green;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • ruler;
  • pencil;
  • brush;
  • skewers.

Making carnations from paper

Take red corrugated paper. Measure 10 cm from the edge and cut off a strip.

Cut the strip into 10 by 10 cm squares.

We bend the squares in half, then in half again. Bend the small square diagonally. Then we bend the free edges towards the middle of the triangle. Align the top edge and cut off the protruding part.

We unfold the triangle along the fold once and cut the notches with scissors. Unfold (90 degree angle), make 3 cuts to the middle.

The result was a flower like this when we unwrapped our blank.

We make 3 more flowers like this. We need 4 flowers for one carnation.

Then we make the middle of the clove. Cut a strip of red paper 3 by 7 cm and make cuts. Lubricate it with glue and screw it onto a skewer. This turns out to be the middle of the clove.

Carefully make holes in the center of the flower, thread a skewer, grease the flower with glue and lift the petals up. We attach 3 more petals in this way. It turns out to be a clove.

We glue the bottom of the flower with a strip of green paper measuring 3 by 8 cm, having also previously greased it with glue.

We cut a long strip of green corrugated paper, grease the skewer with glue and wind the strip onto the skewer. The clove stem is ready.

These are the carnations we got. Let's do a few more things. We wrap the flowers with St. George's ribbon and that's it - corrugated paper carnations are ready for May 9th. They can be given to veterans, to decorate a classroom, or a group in a kindergarten.
