Short women's trousers name. Cropped trousers are a universal trend

Women's trousers were borrowed from the men's wardrobe in the early 30s of the last century and initially differed little from the prototype. However, during the period of their existence, various models of trousers have been created in women's fashion, taking into account the structural features of the female figure. Let's talk about what types of trousers there are.

Jeans models

Jeans are distinguished not only by the material used - denim, but also by the specific manufacturing technology, so there are variations of their cut, noted on the labels.

Basic Jeans Styles:

  • Regular (old) style– classic-style jeans that fit snugly on the figure: they have a straight cut, sometimes tapered at the bottom.
  • Easy (comfort) style (free “comfortable” style)– jeans are similar in cut to the classic versions, but they fit freely on the figure without restricting movement.
  • Slim style (tight style)– denim jeans with added elastane: they highlight your figure well thanks to the stretch fabric.
  • Loose style (spacious style)– wide, loose jeans models that are preferred by young people.
  • Baggy style (baggy style)- “rapper”, slightly lowered, so-called “boyfriend jeans”. May have a large number of pockets.
  • Country style (Boot cut)– cowboy jeans that fit the body in the upper part, and have flares in the lower part.
  • Job style– the jeans have a large number of pockets for working tools and straps on which it is convenient to hang large tools.
Designers do not waste time: their fantasies about women's trousers are limitless! Tapered trousers, for example, can be tight, in a military style, or they can have draperies on the sides, and this is already something exotic, oriental. Fashionable shorts can have elastic bands at the bottom, which makes them similar to trousers, only very short.

Pants can change the proportions of the body due to the position of the belt: trousers lengthen the hips top part figures, with a high belt - visually add length to the legs.

Women have a huge selection of trouser models - they have the opportunity to show their taste!

If a couple of seasons ago it was extremely fashionable to roll up trousers, making them shorter and more stylish, today this number is hopelessly outdated. Moreover, cuffs on pants are no longer considered just unfashionable, but inappropriate relics. But the fashion for trouser legs, revealing the beauty of a woman’s leg, has not gone away. Now the trend is short trousers above the ankle, 7/8 or ¾. We'll tell you how to choose them and what to wear them with.

The main feature of such trousers is the ratio of the length and width of the legs. At the same time, wide legs come in both straight and flared silhouettes.

Cropped trousers can be straight, tapered or wide.

There are models of wide short trousers, the legs of which end with cuffs that slightly gather them.

Depending on the length and width, short women's trousers have different names. Capris, culottes, gauchos, pumpas - we’ll talk about each variety in detail below.

The variety of modern models of women's cropped trousers can make it difficult to choose. The optimal length is selected for each model individually. All types of cropped pants are divided into two categories by length: mid-calf and just above the ankle. In summer outfits, as well as in options for early autumn or late spring, any of these lengths will be acceptable. In colder seasons, cropped trousers are only allowed at ankle length.

Let's look at the most popular options for modern models of cropped women's trousers.

Capri. This model has a straight cut and slightly tapered legs. Their width is quite narrow, but not tight. They are only slightly adjacent to the legs. They are often made of dense fabrics and have arrows.

Culottes. The width of the legs varies from just wide to very wide. Such trousers can be either mid-calf or just above the ankle. But the optimal model, suitable for almost everyone, is moderately wide trousers (sometimes called skirt-pants) with a length just below the knee.

Gaucho. Another model that resembles a culotte skirt. Their length is usually knee-length or slightly lower. These trousers originated in South Africa many years ago. They were intended for women who ride horses.

Pumps. Everyone knows what bloomers look like. And pumpas are a shortened version of them. This model is the work of suffragists at the end of the last century. The length of these trousers reaches the middle of the calf, the width is loose. The bottom of the legs is gathered with a cuff or elastic band.

In addition, modern cropped trousers can be sewn in the likeness of other popular models: chinos, boyfriends, bananas. In all these cases, the length is most often ankle-length or slightly higher.

Since the variety of models is very large, cropped trousers can be chosen for women of any age and with a wide variety of body types. The main rule is that they must have a perfect fit. There are few strict prohibitions, among them:

  • full legs;
  • combination of short stature and excess weight;
  • short legs (girls of average height can also have this defect);
  • too voluminous figure.

Of course, tall and slender girls are lucky. They can wear absolutely any type of cropped trousers without any complaints. Girls with minor figure defects can try cropped trousers made of dense fabrics in dark colors to visually lengthen their legs and make them slimmer.

For women who find their ankles too bulky, a cropped trouser model with rough legs ending in cuffs will help. This combination will make the lower part of the leg visually much more fragile and thin.

Those with average height, short legs and voluminous shapes can try to smooth out their body proportions with cropped, high-waisted trousers.

Most often, cropped trousers are made from fairly dense fabrics that hold their shape well. The exception is culottes and gauchos, which have fairly wide legs and the style itself allows for playfully flowing folds. Such models can also be made from lighter and softer fabrics.

Cotton materials look good and keep you comfortable in the summer. This season, muslin, cambric, chiffon, and volta are popular. Options for autumn and spring - crepe, rep, garus, poplin.

Winter fabric for short trousers is often represented by flannel, flannel, or the somewhat forgotten cotton wool.

Knitted cropped trousers are an option more for the demi-season. Selanik, terry, cashkorse - designers are experimenting with a variety of variations in the use of knitwear. Suit fabrics are also widely used. These trousers – if we consider them for the office – are relevant all year round.

Denim cropped women's trousers are a universal item for both business and informal settings.

As always, classics and conservatism come first. Black and white models of cropped women's trousers are timeless. There are both single-color and two-color variations. The most popular print on these trousers right now is vertical stripes.

A little more classics - traditional colors for trousers will always be relevant. All shades of gray, dark blue, brown, beige. Such trousers are appropriate not only in the office, but also in everyday informal activities.

Pastel colors are in demand in the summer. Mint, lavender, lemon, cream colors - these colors seem to refresh in the July heat. In cool weather, you want to warm up with color. Red Fiesta, Green Flash, Sizzling Mustard or Mind-Blowing Emerald will help with this!

The most important issue in this regard is the choice of shoes. The main taboo is no boots. Cropped trousers are designed to show off a lady's graceful ankles, and shoes are selected that can highlight this part of the body. The combination will be elegant with classic heels or pumps.

These trousers go well with shirts (both long and short sleeves), tops, blouses, and jackets. The top of the ensemble can have a peplum or be multi-layered. In the latter option, one of these layers can be a cardigan.

The most suitable accessories for short trousers are elegant and feminine hats, original handbags, neck scarves and stylish belts.

Typical modern city girl: black ankle-length trousers, a simple white tank top and a minimalist gray jacket. Elegant loafers and a massive bag complete the look.

Don't be afraid of bright colors! Emerald trousers, a cornflower blue coat and golden pumps are a wonderful ensemble designed to brighten up the gray autumn days. A simple shirt to match the trousers will complete the look.

Lady in Black. Cropped trousers with a slightly high waistline, a translucent blouse with a geometric pattern tucked into trousers, a long jacket, stylish sandals and a simple, roomy bag. A thin, elegant strap completes the look. This outfit will come in handy both in the office and on a long trip.

Every modern man must simply try on several popular trouser models for his look - classic, khaki, chinos, cargo, slacks, denim and corduroy pants. All these types of trousers are made from different materials and different styles, emphasizing the advantages of a man's physique.

Classic

This style of pants is designed for various special occasions and business work style. They are made from plain, laconic fabrics with a small addition of synthetics so that the trousers keep their shape and do not wrinkle during wear. Classic models often include front protection; they look especially good on men with a heavy build, visually making them slimmer. Also, trousers may have arrows in the front, but this style is typical for older men.

Cargo

If we consider all types of men's trousers, this is the most comfortable and simplest option. Their wide cut makes a man feel free and comfortable in such pants. Manufacturers attach wide pockets on the sides in the knee area, which makes the trousers also practical to use. Pants are made from dark fabrics and combined with knitted sweaters and jumpers, sportswear and shoes, and worn for meetings with friends and active pastime.

Chinos

Another model of comfortable and practical trousers for men of all ages is. The trousers have a straight cut and are made from natural fabrics, usually cotton, but with the addition of synthetics. Most often, manufacturers offer this model of pants in two colors - brown and beige, and for young people there are bright options in grunge or casual style. You can combine chinos with classic clothes, as well as with raglans and sweaters. Stylists advise men of any size to try on chinos, as they highlight only the best aspects of the figure.

Slacks

Ideal for the warm season, they are made from cotton fabric in laconic light shades. The model assumes a loose and straight cut, worn with summer sandals or classic-style shoes. It is contraindicated to wear such pants with raglan pants, bright T-shirts or sports shoes. They will look much nicer in tandem with shirts or polo T-shirts.

Corduroy

Corduroy pants are a great idea for men of all ages, especially older men. They are made mainly from dark dense fabrics, so it is better to wear them in the cool season. Visually, they are similar to classic trousers, so it is better to wear them with jackets and shirts. Corduroy fabric is very practical and retains its newness for a long time.

Khaki and camo

Khaki style is perfect for men who work in the office. They are sewn from dense, plain fabrics, offering only different tones of khaki color. Pants models can be with or without tucks; in the hip area they can be tight-fitting, and below - loose, as a straight cut is provided. A belt is a mandatory accessory; these trousers can be combined with sports and classic clothing. The only contraindication is shoes with a tapered, long toe.

Joggers

This type of trousers combines classic and sporty styles, that is, these are sports trousers, but with a tapered, tight-fitting silhouette. The tailoring uses bright fabrics with patterns or spotted colors, which are similar to stylized camouflage uniforms. - These are exclusively youth trousers that can be worn for walks with friends, on nature and on a picnic.

Breeches

If a man is interested in types of comfortable trousers, he should try on the breeches model. The pants have a loose fit at the hips, after which they gradually taper down to the ankles. Stylists consider breeches to be a summer option for trousers with good ventilation. Ideally suited for men aged about 30, but for older people they are contraindicated by stylists.

Flare

From the times of retro and dudes to this day, flared trousers have not lost their relevance, distinguished by their elegance and versatility. With the help of their special style, a man can hide the fullness and excess volume in the hips; the pants will visually make the man taller and slimmer. It is better to wear them with shirts and long pullovers; shoes can be classic with a tapered toe.

Tapered

This style of trousers was at the peak of popularity in the USA in the 90s of the last century. Then, under the skinny American women, they wore shirts, T-shirts and other wardrobe items. Today, stylists recommend tapered trouser models for men with a slender build and medium to tall stature. And you can combine them with a classic style or an urban casual style.

Hooligans

Trousers of this style have several features - a classic loose style, the presence of slanting, spacious pockets on the sides. They are usually made from viscose, cotton fabric or jeans. Most often, such trousers are worn today by football players, as well as other athletes. The pants are comfortable to wear, which means they are suitable for active and active men.

With stripes

Pants that have gaps made of fabric of a different color along the side seam are pants with stripes. Most often, pants are made of dark fabrics, and stripes are made of contrasting colors - white or red. These trousers belong to the sports style; they can be loose, straight or tight cut and style. Pants with stripes are combined only with a sporty style of clothing.

How to choose trousers for a man?

To understand how to choose pants , a man needs to decide on the style of such a wardrobe item, as well as what things the trousers will be combined with in the future. In addition, you need to be able to correctly calculate your size; for this, three parameters are calculated - leg length, waist size and hip size. Next, the obtained figures are compared with the size chart, comparing the table with the country of the manufacturer, since each state has its own measurement methods.

Do you wear tight trousers?

YesNo

Another important criterion for how to choose trousers for a man is the man’s figure and physique, which is used to guide the selection of trouser styles. For overweight men, trousers with pintucks and wide-cut trousers with a low rise are suitable so that they do not fit a full belly. Slim men are more suited to tight-fitting styles, trousers with side pockets, wide Oxfords or skinny jeans, as well as tight trousers with cuffs.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, modern types of men's trousers and their classification suggest more than a dozen models and styles for men of different builds and styles. Pants can be classic or sporty, tapered, straight or flared, thin or thick fabrics for different seasons. It is important that the style and design of this item of clothing completely coincides with the character of the man and his overall style.

For men, trousers are an everyday item of clothing. Only in the summer can they be replaced with shorts. Few representatives of the stronger sex can distinguish between the types of men's trousers. They classify them only into sports and classic. Jeans can stand out as a separate item. But this is not the entire list of the diversity of this item of clothing.

Types and their classification

Now guys can diversify their wardrobe well, unlike previous generations. Several decades ago, the types of men's trousers were reduced to several names - sports and classic options.

Modern guys have the opportunity to change their style every day and look original. Even classic trousers have several variations. The variety of fabrics makes it possible to create models for any season.

The main types of men's trousers are distinguished:

  • classic;
  • khaki;
  • slacks;
  • cargo;
  • chinos;
  • corduroy;
  • denim.

These types have their own tailoring features and are made from different fabrics. The choice of a specific type of product depends on the time of year and the purpose of the trip.

Classic pants

This is the best clothing option for working in the office or for a special occasion. Such trousers are often made from plain fabric with the addition of a sufficient amount of synthetics. This feature is easily explained - the product should not wrinkle while wearing.

Men's trousers (classic types) may have tucks in the front. Such models are now less popular, but are still in demand among the stronger sex who have a dense physique. Tucks visually hide the volume of the hips and waist. They are easier to sit in because they have a loose fit.

Most often, such models have arrows on the front. They need to be ironed periodically with special care so that you don’t end up with two on each leg. To do this, you need to have special skills that almost every older man has, since previously only such models of classic trousers were worn.

Young people are more inclined to types of products without tucks. These models are more form-fitting and are suitable for those with a slender figure. When choosing this type of trousers, you need to ensure that folds do not form in front and at the bottom of the legs.

Cargo

This type of product is distinguished by its simplicity and convenience at the same time. The wide cut allows you to feel free and comfortable in them. A special feature of these trousers is the presence of large patch pockets on the sides. They are quite roomy and voluminous.

Cargos are made from thick fabric, mostly in dark shades. They go well with sports shoes and knitted sweaters. There is no need to combine such trousers with classic clothing items or choose military-style colors - this will indicate a lack of taste in their owner.

Types of men's trousers with a loose fit are perfect for walking and meeting with friends. This option will be good for guys whose work involves constant movement.

Chinos

Trousers in this category are perfect for modern men who love simplicity and convenience. They have a straight cut and are made of cotton fabric with the addition of a small amount of synthetics. Most often, chinos are presented in beige and brown tones. But modern designers are increasingly using bright colors in these models.

These trousers go well with classic shirts and modern raglans. You can wear either a jacket or a knitted sweater underneath. This model is considered universal and is suitable for guys of any build.

Slacks

This type is more suitable for wearing in warm seasons. A special feature is that it is sewn only from cotton fabric in light colors. The cut of these trousers is straight and loose.

The model can be worn under or with sandals. Slacks cannot be combined with sports shoes and bright multi-colored T-shirts or raglans. It is better to wear shirts or polos under them.

Jeans and corduroy models

These trousers are very popular among men of any age. Jeans are quite practical and comfortable for any time of year. These trousers are casual wear. They can be thin or insulated.

Corduroy trousers are usually made in dark colors. They are suitable for the cold season, as they are sewn from thick fabric. This type of trousers is similar in cut to classic trousers and can be safely combined with shirts and jackets.

Both options have good wear resistance and are easy to maintain. These trousers are practically not fussy about washing. The models are universal, and these types of men's trousers are very popular among guys. The photo above shows how well they fit the figure.

Khaki

Such models are suitable for people working in offices. They have a straight cut and are made of thick fabric. Previously, these types of men's trousers were sewn only from material. Now the shades have become more varied, but still must be dark.

These pants may have tucks. Young people with good figures prefer models without them. These pants fit tight around the hips and are looser in the legs. They are worn under a belt, usually brown. They look great with sports shoes and dress shoes. There is no need to combine these trousers with classic shoes with a long toe.

Now the stronger sex has a choice of various types of men's trousers, the names of which may or may not be known to them. Regardless of this, it is better to have several options in your wardrobe so as not to look monotonous and boring.

Trousers or trousers are waist-length clothing that covers the hips and each leg individually. Pants have been around for a very long time. They were worn by the Persians, Scythians and Germans. Over such a long time, the shape of trousers has changed several times, but in almost all cultures this item of clothing was considered exclusively masculine. And only in the last century, thanks to a kind of revolution in fashion, trousers became universal clothing on all continents. Currently, they are worn by people of both sexes and different ages.

Today, trousers are widely represented not only in men's but also in women's wardrobes. They can have different cuts, lengths and be made from a wide variety of materials. The following types of trousers are distinguished:

4. Jeans are trousers made from thick cotton fabric with a twill weave (denim). Classic jeans have five pockets and are decorated with metal studs.

5. Capris - narrow trousers that reach mid-calf. Their author is designer Sonja de Lennart. And they got their name from the island of Capri, where they were first presented to the public.

7. Shorts – short trousers with legs above the knee.

8. Breeches are trousers that have a significant widening in the hip area, in the knee area they sharply narrow and tightly clasp the lower leg. Currently, riding breeches belong to the military style.

9. Bicycle shorts are tight-fitting sports pants made of elastic material. The length of the trousers is up to the knee. Bicycle shorts are designed for training and cycling.

10. Bloomers - sewn from flowing, soft fabrics. They are quite wide along their entire length and narrow only at the ankle.

11. Aladdin, Ali Baba pants, Afghanis, Afghan pants - made in oriental style and have a very low cut seat.

12. Palazzo pants (skirt - trousers) - in appearance they resemble a very flared skirt.
