DIY wire jewelry. Intricate jewelry: DIY wire jewelry

A copper key will become a mysterious and original decoration that will perfectly complement an image in a steampunk or boho style, and can also be used as an interior accessory.

In order to make such a key with your own hands, we will need:

  • copper wire: 2 pieces about 40 centimeters long, thick (1.2 mm in diameter) and very thin;
  • a flat small bead, about a centimeter long;
  • pliers;
  • small vise or clamp;
  • anvil (you can take any metal block, for me it’s actually a part from a dumbbell);
  • hammer.

Making a key from copper wire

First we create the top part of our key. We take the thicker wire, combine the ends and bend it like a fish.

Pull the ends until the loop shrinks to about 1.5 cm in length.

Now you need to make the side loops. Holding the place where the wire crosses, draw one of the tails of the wire in a circle and tighten the loop to the desired size (about 1 cm in length).

We do the same with the second tail. I just do this with my hands, the copper wire is quite soft. But if it seems difficult, you can always help yourself by grabbing the tail with pliers.

The procedure must be repeated on both sides again, resulting in five loops. We place our workpiece on the anvil and start hammering.

You don’t need to hit too hard, the main thing is to keep the hammer level so that it doesn’t hit the edge and leave unsightly dents on the workpiece. The ends of the loops can be flattened more strongly, but where the wire crosses, it is important not to overdo it so that it does not break.
This is roughly what it should look like.

Cunning: You can beat the workpiece only on the side that will then be the wrong side. Then the front will turn out smooth and even.

We clamp the workpiece in a vice so that the ends stick out, and begin to twist them together.

We twist it to the place where the key bit will be (about 3 cm). Then we bend one of the ends at a right angle, and straighten the other down.

Having retreated about 2.5 cm, we grab the lower end with pliers and begin to bend it.

Bend it all the way and press it tighter with pliers.

Again we clamp the key in a vice, trying to press both the bent end and the twisted part.

Now we grab the end of the resulting loop with pliers and twist it, and then bend the remaining tail parallel to the second one.

We cut it to an equal length and carefully give it a rounded shape with pliers.

And again we put it on the anvil and hit it with a hammer. The very tip of the key and the beard can be flattened more, but we try not to overdo it with the rest.

All that remains is to attach the bead. Take a thin wire and cut it in half. We pass both pieces through the bead and place it in the center of the upper part of the key.

Now you need to wrap each end of a thin wire around a thick wire 2-3 times. To get rid of protruding tails, we bend the wires several times at the very base, and they break off neatly.
Ready! You can hang it on a cord or chain and wear it with pleasure.

This method can be used to make voluminous openwork wire products of various shapes, especially if the original form is divided into several volumes, which are made separately, and then all the parts are assembled together.

For example, we will make an openwork oblong bead in the shape of a spindle

We will need

thick (1 mm in diameter) and thin (0.5 mm) wire (you can try other wire sizes).

Beads, beads and other elements for decoration

Tools: curved pliers, side cutters, awl, ruler, anvil, hammer.

Knitting needle or wire with a diameter of approximately 1.5 mm;

rod or nail,

as well as auxiliary material: toilet paper and thread.

Let's first prepare a thick wire from which the frame of the bead will be made. We wind a loose spiral on the knitting needle.

Let's stretch the spiral further and beat it into a flat snake

Something like this.

Let's wind up the broken wire and heat it in the flame of a gas stove burner.

Then we put it in the water. The scale will fall off. Let's wipe off the wire. The wire will become soft again.

Now we will prepare the internal base - the “spindle”, on which we will wind the wire. To do this, you will need toilet paper - pieces torn lengthwise, as well as a metal rod and threads.

By twisting the paper into a rope, we form a “spindle”, for which we place the turns of paper on top of each other in the center of the “spindle”.

We wrap the last layer of paper like a bandage and secure it with several turns of thread.

We begin to form a bead. We wind the broken wire onto the “spindle” in a spiral, making sure that the turns are at the same distance and the wire lies on the flat side and not on the edge.

Then we apply longitudinal turns, wrapping the wire around the ends of the rod.

We carry out the initial fixing of the bead shape. To do this, we secure the intersections of the frame wire with turns of thin wire. 3 passes from one end of the bead to the other are enough. It is convenient to start winding from the middle of a piece of thin wire so that the working end is not very long, no more than 1 m.

Place the bead in a cup of water. When the paper gets wet, you need to pull out the rod and, using an awl, remove the paper and threads.

The result is a semi-finished bead.

We begin to decorate it, filling the voids with metal balls, beads, beads. When wrapping, we try to secure the intersections of the thick wire. Using an awl and curling pliers, you can adjust the shape of the bead and the distance between the turns. It is necessary to take into account that the more densely the bead is “woven”, the more rigid the structure becomes.

I got this bead. Copper balls, 2 types of beads and radonite stone chips were used. This bead, 6 cm long and with a maximum diameter of 1.5 cm, took approximately 1.5 m of thick wire with a diameter of 1 mm and 2 m of thin wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm.

DIY jewelry made from beads and wire can be a stylish and unusual addition to your hairstyle. They are not difficult to make, but at the same time they will be a good alternative to expensive jewelry from stores. The main thing is to think through the idea in advance and buy all the necessary materials and tools.

Everyday jewelry

Hair accessories in everyday life should not be pretentious and massive. It is better to give preference to small-sized headbands, hairpins and hairpins. The color scheme should be selected based on their overall style idea.

Headband made of ribbons and beads

An elegant headband will help remove stray strands from your face and fix your hair in the desired position. The most advantageous option is headbands decorated with artificial flowers, ribbons, beads, rhinestones and other elements.

To create an accessory you will need:

  • wide plastic rim;
  • guipure ribbon 4-5 mm wide;
  • glue gun;
  • lace ribbon;
  • beads;
  • scissors;
  • needle and thread.

When all the necessary materials are prepared, you can begin to work.

  1. We attach the lace to one side of the hoop using a glue gun and begin to wrap it around the entire perimeter, avoiding any gaps.
  2. Next, take 1 m of guipure tape and weave a voluminous braid from it. We form a flower from this braid and sew a small bead inside, with which we secure the entire structure.

  3. We make the same braid, only using 3 m of tape. Using a glue gun, carefully attach it to the headband, allowing time to dry for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. We string pearl beads onto a thread and attach them to a guipure braid.

    Idea! In this case, it is more convenient to use ready-made pearl beads, since they are already attached to the thread and do not slip.

  5. Glue or sew on the prepared guipure flower on the side.
    The headband is ready to use. If desired, you can take materials of different shades, then the product will look much brighter and more impressive.

Wreath

Can be created with any type of beads, beads and other crystals. To make the product look more voluminous, you need to use material of different sizes. What you will need to create a wreath:

  • metal rim of the required size;
  • pearl beads of different diameters;
  • large white and transparent beads;
  • crystals;
  • wire 3 mm;
  • pliers.

Now you can start creating the wreath.

  1. For the first branch you will need a wire 25-26 cm long. We string the first large pearl and, holding it with our fingers, make a 1 cm twist. Next we string smaller parts, making a twist under each of them. This way we form a branch.
  2. The number of details on the rim depends on the size and volume of the wreath. The best option would be to create 8-10 branches. You can get by with 5-7 branches.
  3. Next, you need to tightly wrap each branch to the rim, carefully hiding the ends so that they do not prick. To do this, they can be clamped using pliers.
  4. Each branch needs to be straightened so that the wreath does not look crumpled.

Hairpin

Almost every girl uses this accessory. After all, it is irreplaceable when creating many everyday and evening looks. Anyone can create a hairpin with their own hands, without spending a lot of time. For this you will need:

  • a set of simple metal pins;
  • wire 0.5 mm;
  • beads, seed beads and crystals of various sizes;
  • scissors;
  • pliers.

All materials and tools can be purchased at any craft or hardware store. How to properly create such a decoration is described in detail in the following video master class.

Wedding decorations

You can create accessories from wire and beads with your own hands for such a special event as a wedding. In this case, you should pay attention to materials in more restrained tones: white, beige, soft blue and pink. The hair decoration will perfectly complement the delicate image of the bride.

Scallop

With this accessory you can elegantly pick up your hair and secure your veil in the desired position. Depending on the image of the bride, the size of the product and its color scheme will differ. To create a scallop you will need:

  • metal comb base;
  • wire 0.5 mm;
  • beads, crystals and seed beads of different sizes;
  • scissors;
  • pliers.

When all the materials and tools are prepared, you can begin to create a wedding scallop with your own hands. A step-by-step master class is presented in the video below.

Vintage version

This accessory will be a wonderful addition to the light and romantic look of the bride. You can make it yourself without spending a lot of time and material resources. What you will need:

The color of the beads can be replaced with another one more suitable for the bride’s image. When all the tools and materials are prepared, you can start working:

  1. First you need to create a sketch of the future size. Its length should be approximately 25-27 cm. The branches are drawn asymmetrical, as shown in the figure.

  2. To better understand the appearance of the product, you can lay out all the prepared beads on the sketch in advance and at this stage correct what you don’t like. The main thing is to clearly understand where the large elements will be located in relation to the smaller ones. Then the decoration will look harmonious.

  3. We use the wire directly from the spool without cutting it. Then the places where the smaller branches are twisted will not be visible. We begin to put on the beads in reverse order. That is, those elements that go first in the sketch onto the wire end up last.

  4. When all the beads are put on the wire, move them to a distance of 50 cm from the beginning. This will be the leading "thread" that will become the central branch. All secondary branches will go from it according to the sketch.
  5. We take the first bead in our hands, bend the wire and hold the two ends with our fingers or pliers at a distance of about 2 cm. Now we begin to rotate the bead around its axis. The wire should curl exactly to where you hold it. It is important not to overdo it here: if you twist it too tightly, the wire will become brittle. And if you don’t tighten it, the beads will dangle and the product will look untidy.

  6. We take the second bead and retreat from the place of twisting by 1.5 cm, repeat the entire procedure until the point where the two branches come together. Now we make 2-3 turns of the two strands of wire “idle”, retreating from the point of connection of the first branches. After that, take the third bead and repeat the same thing. We do the same with the fourth bead.

  7. According to the diagram, after the fourth bead you need to make a small indent to highlight the large elements. Therefore, you should twist the wire threads “idle” for about 2 cm, and then start twisting the branches with large elements.
  8. Don't forget to check the product with the sketch. According to him, the first major branching follows. We take the bead that will be at the top of the new branch and move it away from the base of the already woven branch by about 6 cm. This will be the length of the new branch. Next, we begin to twist until we return to the point where the first branch meets the second.

  9. As we create the product, we move new branches in different directions to make it more voluminous.

  10. When all the beads are put on the wire, its ends can be trimmed. They should be carefully tucked so that they do not prick. This will be conveniently done using pliers.

Before attaching the product to a comb or headband, you can try it on and decide on the options for use.

Wedding stilettos

With this simple accessory you can secure almost any wedding hairstyle. But the product itself can be created with your own hands in the shortest possible time. For this you will need:

Creating a wedding hairpin for your hair will not take much time and effort.

  1. First, you can create a sketch of the future product on paper and weave beads using it.
  2. The process begins with cutting a wire 25-30 cm long and stringing the first large bead. A 1 cm long twist is made under it. After that comes a series of other beads and crystals.

Making hair jewelry from wire and beads is a fun activity that every girl can do. Such accessories will favorably complement any image of their owner and make her stand out among others.

(pendant) made of wire and cabochon with your own hands. Photo. Wire wrap technique.

Recently I wove a pendant from wire and cabochon. As the assembly progressed, I took photographs of the weaving process. I won’t say that everything was photographed in detail. I hope this is useful to someone.

The cabochon was fastened with Viking braid (master class -). There is no point in describing further weaving. As they say, I wanted the best, but it turned out as always. There was no specific goal or plan. I was weaving at random.

I used copper wire 1 mm thick for the base and 0.4 mm for the braid. The cabochon seems to be natural. Honestly, I don’t know what the stone is called. But a handsome devil! After making the pendant, I patinated (aged) the copper wire with ammonia vapor. I polished it with a machine with a felt circle, using GOI paste.

I'm adding it as I go. I found out information about the cabochon.

Cherry quartz is a trade name, a man-made product. It is produced in China. Method of production: glass or quartz is melted in a furnace, then dyes are added. Then it is cooled, cut and polished.

Making something with your own hands is already interesting, but if you make jewelry, this activity is doubly interesting. This handicraft can be mastered by anyone, but there are also complex elements that can be performed using special devices. You can make jewelry and jewelry from different types of wire: it can be aluminum, copper, steel wire, and even bronze. In this tutorial we will use stainless steel wire and we will make a neck decoration.

To make the decoration we will need:

  1. pliers
  2. pliers
  3. stainless steel wire - 60 cm
  4. three tubes of increasing diameter from 1 cm to 1.5 cm
  5. beads with a diameter of 0.5 cm
  6. hammer
  7. anvil
  8. copper wire for strengthening beads
  9. paste GOI"

This decoration consists of two components: upper and lower. First we make the top part. We take the end of the wire and begin to bend it like a snail, then pull the wire up and make one large turn, and another in it, but the diameter should be smaller. You should not frequently grab the wire with pliers so as not to scratch it and damage it.

Then we pull the wire, pressing it with our finger and making an oval.

On the contrary, horizontally we make exactly the same figure in a mirror image, bite off the end and wrap it with a snail, as we did at the beginning.

The top part of the decoration is ready.

Now let's move on to the bottom. To do this, from the end of the wire we do exactly the same as on the upper part: we wrap it like a snail, only closer, almost turn to turn.

Now we need those three tubes of different diameters.

Let's start with the smallest one, bring the wire down and wrap the tube, then lead the wire up and make a small turn.

The first figure should resemble a figure eight, the second turn occurs in exactly the same way, only for wrapping we take a tube with a larger diameter.

Having wound it, we lead the wire up and also make a small turn, we carry out the same operation, but with the largest diameter of the tube.

Having reached the middle, you should have three turns at the bottom in ascending order, now we do the same operations in mirror image. We wrap the middle, then the small tube. Most of it is ready, now take an anvil and a hammer and flatten the lower parts a little.

To avoid bending the side coils, you can stretch the product slightly with an accordion.

You don’t need to hit hard, but with frequent strikes, starting from the middle of the semicircle. We do this to give the wire flatness on the lower turns.

The lower part is ready, now you need to fasten both parts with copper wire.

Let's start from the middle, wrapping one turn to another.

Then we attach the upper side snail to the lower side one on one side, and then on the other.

The decoration is assembled, now you need to polish it. Use a small cloth to collect the paste goyim and rub the product. Then we rub the product with this rag, it becomes shiny and beautiful.

And finally, the final touch: we attach the beads, they can be attached to the same wire as the product or take a thread. We attach beads in each cell at the top, then in small side snails, and at the end of each turn at the bottom.

The wire decoration is ready:
