Knitting hats and panamas - detailed description of knitting. Panama hat schemes

The bottom diagram is not complete, there should be another row with an extension, where the extension goes through 3 fans. I’ll try to explain in words, because I’m unlikely to be able to draw better. For the bottom, the repeat of the pattern in height is repeated 4 times, the first time by 6 fans, the second by 12, the third by 18, the fourth by 24, and then it is knitted without increases, i.e. 24 rapports are just enough to fit the head circumference. The expansion is due to an arch of 3 ch, which is knitted in a row between fans of 7 dcs. (then in the next row the hdc is knitted into this arch). First these extras. the arches are knitted between each fan, then after 2, then after 3. In words it seems a lot and complicated, in fact everything is very simple, I didn’t even tie the bottom, the first time and without any pattern, this extension of the pattern worked out well for me
Flowers for decoration are also by eye. 6 v.p. close in a ring.
2nd row: *2dc, ch 7*, repeat 6 times.
3rd row: each arch of 7 vp. tie *sc, hdc, 10 dc, hdc, sc*, sl st in dc of previous row.
Tie a flower with a contrasting thread *SS, ch*
Panama hat is knitted from chamomile yarn, hook number 2, head circumference approx. 50cm.

After the Panama hat is knitted to the required depth, the row that comes after the fans (3 sc, 5 ch) is tied with sc, then a row of arches is knitted, 5 ch each. (2 pieces per 1 pattern repeat). And then the fields according to the fan pattern. At the base of the fan I knitted 9 DCs, in the last row I replaced 3 DCs tied together with 2 DCs together, and then tied the fans with arches of 3 chain stitches. I also stretched a ribbon along the last row of the pattern.

Head circumference: for any circumference.
Yarn: “Ivushka” Semenovskaya yarn (50% cotton, 50% viscose, 430 m/100 g).
Hook: No. 2

Description: Crochet Panama hat for girls

We start knitting a children's panama hat from the top of the head.
To do this, fold the thread into a ring.
1st row: tie a ring of thread. 3 chain lifting loops, *chain loop, double crochet* - repeat 13 times, chain loop, connecting loop (we close the knitting in a circle). Tighten the ring by pulling the non-working end of the thread.

We knit a circle according to the pattern to the required diameter.

After knitting a circle of the required diameter, we knit without increments: *double crochet, chain stitch* to the required depth. We insert the hook under the arches of air loops.

Then use white yarn to knit 3 rows with single crochets.
Tie the edge of the Panama hat with openwork scallops.

crochet knitted hats

A knitted Panama hat is a wonderful accessory that complements the outfit of both a little girl or boy, and an adult fashionista. What could be more pleasant than a beautiful thing knitted by a mother's caring hands? The product will be unique, making your baby stand out from the crowd of other children, as well as comfortable, exactly the right size and made with love. In addition, yarn is cheaper than a ready-made store-bought hat, and children outgrow even the most beautiful things so quickly.

But don’t think that a Panama hat is just a children’s accessory. Openwork summer models with wide brims will look great on an adult girl, complementing both playful romantic and casual styles.

Knitting a Panama hat with knitting needles is not that difficult. There are various schemes, and some of them are quite simple to implement, which means that even a novice needlewoman can handle them. However, if you are an experienced craftswoman and you want something special, then you can choose a more complex option, play with patterns, decorations and various threads. Wide brim or lack thereof, a visor that makes the panama hat look like a cap, flowers, ribbons, lace - the flight of your imagination is unlimited.

What yarn is best to knit a Panama hat with knitting needles?

It depends solely on your taste, desires and what weather your new thing is intended for. For the summer, panama hats knitted from cotton are better suited, perhaps with the addition of viscose, acrylic or silk for greater wearability of the product and easier washing. Cotton allows the scalp to breathe, even if the baby plays very actively on a hot sunny day. For cooler times, you can use merino wool or alpaca wool.

If you are just starting to learn knitting, then it is better to choose a plain light yarn, quite thick and dense, because... in this case the loops will be clearly visible.

On the Internet, by searching for “Panama hat pattern,” you can find many master classes on how to crochet a Panama hat, but absolutely wonderful models can be easily made using knitting needles. Below are diagrams of a Panama hat, from which any fashionista will be able to choose something to suit her taste.

Hello, my dears!

Today you will learn how to knit a summer hat for a girl “Striped” - a Panama hat in one word. This hat (head circumference 49-50 cm) I knitted one for my granddaughter quite recently, having mastered the simplest version of knitting a hat - from the top of the head.

The knitted hat “Striped” is made in garter stitch, and I give a description of the whole process in such detail that even a beginner can master this summer hat with knitting needles.

By the way, knitting the same Panama hat for an adult using this description will also not be difficult.

Summer hat “Stripes”

To knit this hat I used:

  • pink Indian yarn "LILY" from VITA cotton made from 100% mercerized cotton - 125 m\50 g (it took about half a skein);
  • soft purple Turkish yarn "BELLA" from Alize from 100% cotton - 180 m\50 g (less than half a skein);
  • knitting needles No. 2 and No. 3,
  • circular or stocking needles No. 3.

Knitting the bottom of a Panama hat

The bottom of this knitted panama hat consists of 8 wedges, thanks to which it fits well on the top of the head. If you want to make it a little cone-shaped, you will need to initially cast on not 9 loops, but 8 or 7 - in this case, the bottom will be made of 7 or 6 wedges.

So, on ONE knitting needle No. 2 (so that the hole at the crown is not too large), we cast on 9 loops with pink threads and knit them like this:

  • 1st row - remove the edge, * 1 yarn over, 1 front* (from * to * we knit to the end of the row) - on knitting needles 17 loops;
  • 2nd row - We knit with facial loops, we knit yarn overs behind the back wall so that there are no holes.

From the 3rd row we switch to needles No. 3 and make additions in a different way:

  • 3rd row (purple) -remove the edge, *knit the knit stitch first behind the front wall (as we usually knit), and then, without removing this loop from the knitting needle, knit it behind the back wall (from 1 loop we get 2 loops), 1 knitting* - on knitting needles 25 loops;
  • 4th row and we knit all even rows of the BOTTOM with facial loops without additions;
  • 5th row (pink) - remove the edge, *knit 2 loops from 1 (as described above), 2 Knit* - on knitting needles 33 loops;
  • 7th row (purple) - remove the edge, * 2 out of 1, 3 knit* – 41 loop;
  • 9th row (pink) - edge, * 2 out of 1, knit 4 * - 49 loops;
  • 11th row (purple) - edge, * 2 out of 1, 5 knit * - 57 loops;
  • 13th row (pink) - edge, * 2 out of 1, knit 6 * - 65 loops;
  • 15th row (purple) - edge, * 2 out of 1, 7 knit* - 73 loops;
  • 17th row (pink) - edge, * 2 out of 1, knit 8 * - 81 loops;
  • 19th row (purple) - edge, * 2 out of 1, knit 9 * - 89 loops;
  • 21st row (pink - knit on circular or stocking needles) - edging, * 2 of 1 , 10 knit*, at the end of the row we knit the last loop TOGETHER with the first knit loop, closing the knitting in a circle - on knitting needles 96 loops (photo).

We knit the next circular row in pink with PURL stitches. The bottom of the panama hat is ready. Bottom diameter 12 cm.

If the child’s head size is more than 49 cm or you want to knit a Panama hat for an adult, you can continue knitting 8 wedges without closing them in a circle to the size you need. Well, we will follow further.

Knitting a Panama hat crown

We knit the crown of the summer hat in circular rows without increments (96 stitches), alternating the front and back rows, as well as the colors of the yarn (we knit 2 circular rows with each color - front and back).

When moving from one color to another, we cross the threads and pull them tighter so that unnecessary holes do not form.

Having knitted 8 cm in this way, we move on to knitting the brim of the children's Panama hat. For an adult, the height of the crown will be about 11 cm.

Knitting the brim of a Panama hat

The brim of the Panama hat is knitted according to the same principle as the bottom, i.e. by further expanding 8 wedges, only now without edge loops and in circular rows, changing the color of the yarn every 2 circular rows (we knit one with knit stitches, the other with purl):

  • 1st row (purple) -*from 1 we knit the loops 2 knits., 11 knits.* - 104 loops;
  • 2nd row and all even ones -all loops are purl;
  • 3rd row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 12 knit* - 112 loops;
  • 5th, 9th, 13th, 17th rows (purple) - knit with facial loops without additions;
  • 7th row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 13 knit* - 120 loops;
  • 11th row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 14 knit* - 128 loops;
  • 15th row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 15 knit* - 136 loops;
  • 19th row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 16 knit* - 144 loops;
  • 21st row (purple) -*from 1 loop 2, 17 knit* - 152 loops;
  • 23rd row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 18 knit* - 160 loops;
  • 25th row (purple) - from 1 loop 2, 19 knit* - 168 loops;
  • 27th row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 20 knit* - 176 loops;
  • 29th row (purple) -*from 1 loop 2, 21 knit* - 184 loops;
  • 31st row (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 22 knit* - 192 loops;
  • 33rd row (purple) -*from 1 loop 2, 23 knit* - 200 loops;
  • Row 35 (pink) -*from 1 loop 2, 24 knit* - 208 loops;
  • 36th row (pink) - We knit all the loops with facial stitches;
  • 37th row (pink) - we close all the loops, first knitting them purl.

I think it would be nice to decorate it with some kind of knitted flower like a daisy, but only a small one.

You can also starch the hat a little, because it is very soft and the brim doesn’t really hold its shape, but that’s not for everyone.

If you liked this knitted Panama hat, I would be very glad to hear your feedback! Well, if you have a desire to knit some other baby hat with knitting needles, take a look, maybe you’ll like something!

P.S. We hear the very loud, shrill chirping of cicadas in the trees every summer, but then we only find their mummies. And I was lucky enough to capture this insect (usually sparrows are ahead of me) in my garden.

It turns out that cicadas are pests of gardens and vegetable gardens! And it looks like such a cute “fly”.If you put all the puzzles together, you can meet this charmer!

A knitted Panama hat is a very original and extravagant accessory that goes well with many outfits. At the same time, a knitted Panama hat changes the character of the image, adding piquancy, mystery and tenderness to it.

A Panama hat will be a good addition to a beach look, or to an everyday fashionable outfit. Considering that knitted bucket hats are produced not only by famous brands, but are also created by talented handmade craftsmen, every woman can afford to purchase any model that would be ideal for her.

Knitted Panama hats

Panama hats knitted with knitting needles are often made without brims. This model is perfect for women with an oval face shape, short hair and long luxurious hair. Panama hat can be soft in pastel colors:

  • blue;
  • pink;
  • white;
  • soft green;
  • beige.

This option will perfectly complement your everyday look, be it an airy sundress or a top with denim shorts. But it is also not uncommon to find panama hats knitted with knitting needles in a classic style with a brim. Knitting needles allow you to knit fabric from dense yarn and this is used by many craftsmen. For example, not so long ago a panama hat made of thick, straw-colored woolen threads was popular. The hat has a narrow brim and is tied with a satin ribbon. The beauty of this accessory is that it looks very similar to a straw hat, but looks more original.

Crochet Panama hats

Flirty crocheted women's panama hats are a great choice for women of any age. They will successfully complete the image of a young fashionista and add sophistication to the outfit of an adult woman. Openwork panama hats with wide brims will be appropriate in an elegant ensemble of classic tones. And Panama hats made of thin yarn with multi-colored stripes will decorate your head even in cloudy weather. They can be combined with thin summer sweaters, jeans and other casual items.

Size: 6-7 years, head circumference - 51-52 cm
You will need: 50 g lilac yarn (100% mercerized cotton, MAXI, weight: 100 g, length: 565 m), hook No. 1, satin ribbon, regillin.
Job description:

Cast on 6 air loops, close them in a ring and knit according to pattern 1 until the bottom reaches the required diameter, in our case 16.5 cm.

Next, we knit without additions until the depth of the cap reaches 18 cm. Then we knit one row with a fillet mesh for a satin ribbon (alternately st. s/n and vp), another circular row we knit st. b/n.

Now let's move on to the fields. We knit the fields according to pattern 2.

Flower

Knit according to the pattern, make the core of the flower using the technique described below, and sew it into the center of the flower. Make the middle of the flower according to the Irish berry principle: wind the thread around a pencil 8-10 times, carefully remove the resulting ring from the pencil and tie it with a st. b/n, inserting the hook into the center of the ring. Connect a row of connections. column. Next, continue tying the row in a circle st. b/n, inserting the hook not into the loops of the previous row, but into the center of the ring.

Insert the ribbon into the fillet mesh, sew on the flower and your hat is ready!

Crochet summer children's hat with “Rose” brim

Size: 2 years, head circumference - 48-49 cm
You will need: 50 g of pink yarn (100% mercerized cotton, Alize Miss, weight: 50 g, length: 280 m, No. 170) and 5 g of milky color (No. 62), hook No. 1, regiline, satin ribbon.
Job description:
Cast on 8 chain stitches with pink thread, close them in a ring and knit according to the pattern

We knit regilin into the last row. In order for the fields to hold well, it is better to use two regiline fishing lines at once. We measure the required length close to the fields of the regilina, make a “double” ring (I carefully connected the fishing line with a thin layer of tape). And we tie it with single crochets in a circle.

Roses (2 pcs.)

Tie 2 roses: pink and milky.

For the rose, dial 59 ch.
1st row: 3 ch. rise, st. s/n in the fourth loop, vp, * st. s/n in the next loop, vp, st. s/n in the same loop - it turns out the letter V, ch. * - repeat until the end of the row. It should be 30 V.
2nd row: 3 ch. rise, st. s/n, 3 vp, 2 tbsp. s/n in the same arch of the letter V, * 2 tbsp. s/n, 3 vp, 2 tbsp. s/n in the next arch of the letter V * - repeat until the end of the row.
3rd row: 3 ch. rise, 8 tbsp. s/n in the arch of the double letter V, * 9 tbsp. s/n in the next arch * repeat 6 times.
Twist the resulting braid in a circle and sew it with thread, as in the photo.

Sew roses to the hat.
To shape the hat, I sprinkled it with water and pulled it onto the shape (jar, ball, ball).
Pull the satin ribbon in and tie it with a bow at the back.
The hat is ready!!!
