Government decree on holidays during the year. The most joyful holidays in January

The government explains its decision by saying that postponing holidays makes it possible to add them to weekends. Thus, Russians will be able to fully relax for several days.

This issue was studied by a special commission and, based on the results of consideration, the government of the Russian Federation approved a draft resolution on postponing days off in 2016. It should be noted that such a legislative initiative did not raise objections from any of the interested parties. Moreover, the production calendar for next year will definitely take these changes into account. The information provided in it will make it possible to find out not only about weekends, but also to determine the number of working days in each month or quarter, as well as half a year.

How will the weekend be postponed?

Traditionally, the new year 2016 will begin with the holidays. Next year they will last exactly ten calendar days, as provided for by current legislation. So, January 1 in 2016 falls on a Friday, so the holidays will continue until the next Sunday. And on Monday, January 11, everyone will begin their daily work with renewed vigor.

It should be noted that the government decree provides for shifting weekends that coincide with holidays. Thus, the holiday for Saturday, January 2, is postponed to May 3. And Sunday, January 3, has been moved to March 7.

Moving the holidays to 2016 will increase the number of holidays in early spring, during the celebration of International Women's Day. So, the holiday will last from Saturday, March 5 to Tuesday, March 8 inclusive, that is, four days.

But most of the postponements of holidays and weekends in 2016 occurred in the last month of spring. Thus, traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated on May 1st. Next year it falls on Sunday, so it is automatically transferred to the next day - Monday. In addition, one additional day is added to the May holidays from January. Thus, residents of the country will be able to relax for four days in a row - from Saturday, April 30 to the evening of Tuesday, May 3.

In addition, Russians will also receive three days off on Victory Day, since next year May 9 falls on a Monday and will be a day off.

A similar situation is observed in February, when Defender's Day is celebrated. The following year, February 23rd falls on a Tuesday. Therefore, to ensure a three-day rest, the day off from Saturday was moved to Monday. Thanks to this, Russians will receive three days of rest in a row - from Sunday, February 21 to Tuesday, February 23 inclusive.

Residents of the country will also not work for three days in June and November in connection with the celebration of Russia Day on June 12 and National Unity Day on November 4. In the first case, the holiday falls on a weekend and is moved to Monday. And in November it falls on a Friday.

How many holidays will residents of the country have in 2016?

Thanks to the government decree on postponing holidays in 2016, residents of the country will rest according to the following schedule:

  • 10 days for Christmas holidays,
  • 3 days in February
  • 4 days on the Eighth of March,
  • 4 days at the beginning of May,
  • 3 days for Victory Day,
  • 3 days in June,
  • 3 days for November holidays.

The New Year holidays in 2016 will begin on January 1 (the first day of the year this time falls on Friday) and will last until Sunday, January 10. The next day, January 11, the first official working week of the new year will begin in Russia - and schoolchildren will begin their studies (the end of school holidays in schools operating according to the traditional “quarter” system this year coincides with the end of rest for adults).

The January holidays in Russia consist of holiday non-working days dedicated to the celebration of the New Year and Christmas and regular weekends that are “added” to the holidays. In accordance with Russian legislation Holidays are dates from January 1 to January 8. But January 9 and 10 are regular weekends, Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, for those who work a six-day week, the New Year holidays may end earlier: the administration has the right to demand that they go to work as early as Saturday, January 9, or, in order not to “break” the work week, move the start of the working year to Sunday.

Transfers of weekends to New Year's holidays in 2016

The duration of the January holidays in our country varies slightly every year - for example, in 2015 they lasted 11 days, in 2014 - only eight. How much on New Year's holidays depends on the schedule for transferring weekends: according to the law, if a holiday falls on a weekend, then the rest day is postponed. Sometimes such “extra” days are added to the winter holiday, sometimes they are transferred to other months.

This year there were two days off for the holidays: Saturday, January 2 and Sunday, January 3. Residents of the country will take their “day off” in the spring: one of the additional days off will be moved to March 7, the second to May 3. Thus, both International Women's Day and Spring and Labor Day will be marked by a four-day mini-vacation.

If we look at how we are doing during the New Year holidays day by day, the graph will look like this:

  • January 1, Friday– holiday, New Year;

  • January 2, Saturday– a holiday, the day off from this day is transferred to May 3;

  • January 3, Sunday– a holiday, the day off from this day is transferred to March 7;

  • January 4, Monday

  • January 5, Tuesday– holiday non-working day;

  • January 6, Wednesday– holiday non-working day;

  • January 7, Thursday– holiday, Christmas;

  • January 8, Friday– holiday non-working day;

  • January 9, Saturday– day off (excluding those working a six-day week);

  • January 10, Sunday- day off.

Is December 31 a day off or a working day?

Despite the fact that at least 8 days are allotted to celebrate the New Year in Russia, there are no additional days off to prepare for this special event. The issue of making December 31 a day off was already submitted to the State Duma for consideration - but this initiative was rejected.

Therefore, December 31, Thursday, will officially be a working day in 2015. It is considered a pre-holiday holiday, so the working day on New Year's Eve should be reduced by an hour.

Every year, the days of the week on which the “red” days of the calendar fall change. And many people probably want to know in advance when they will have free time in the new year to plan trips and other events. For such cases, you can use the holiday calendar in 2016. How we relax, starting from the New Year, IQR calculated below. We will only mention “red” dates - Russians, unfortunately, have to work on various professional holidays. By the way, next year will be a leap year - lasting 366 days instead of 365.

Holiday calendar 2016: when and what do we celebrate? Weekends and holidays

Below is official calendar of weekends and holidays, approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of September 24, 2015 No. 1017 “On the transfer of days off in 2016.”

New Year 2016

The most important question is about the weekend for the new year 2016 - the first holiday celebrated by millions of people, one of the most fun and most anticipated. There is not much time left before it, so many have probably already begun to figure out their work schedule, wanting to pre-plan the New Year's celebration. This time, the last day of the year, December 31, falls on Thursday. This will be a shortened working day.

Days from January 1 (Friday) to January 10 (Sunday) are marked in red on the calendar. . Traditionally, the New Year is celebrated with family - so you can already notify your loved ones about what days of the week you will celebrate this time. If you are planning to take advantage of a long weekend to relax at a warm resort, it is better to buy tickets in the fall; by December they traditionally become 2-3 times more expensive. If you decide to take a vacation at the last minute, last-minute tickets will be significantly more expensive (if you can still get them).

Let's look at further red dates and how we rest: the January holidays will continue next week - Orthodox Christmas is celebrated on the 7th, which falls on Thursday. Many enterprises take a break from work - the New Year holidays, which end after Christmas. The ten-day holiday does not apply to all employees. Whether you will also rest on these dates depends on where exactly you work. For example, at facilities with continuous production, shifts cannot be canceled in any way. The same applies to doctors, law enforcement officers, and representatives of many other professions.

February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day

The next public holiday will be February 23rd. In 2016 it will fall on Tuesday. For convenience, they also made Monday (February 22) a day off, but in return you will have to work on Saturday, February 20. This working day will be shortened. Thus, In connection with Defender of the Fatherland Day, we rest for 3 days in a row - from 21 to 23 .

March 8 - International Women's Day

Shortly after Defender of the Fatherland Day, International Women's Day is celebrated, which also falls on Tuesday. March 7 (Monday, postponed from the New Year holidays) is also added to it, thanks to which we get 4 days off at once - from Saturday (March 5) to Tuesday (March 8) .

May holidays 2016

The next significant dates will be the May holidays:

May 1 - Labor Day

May Day will fall on Sunday (by the way, Orthodox Easter will be celebrated on the same day), and the weekend will additionally be on the 2nd and 3rd - Monday and Tuesday. Thus, we rest for 4 days - from April 30 to May 3 .

May 9 - Victory Day

May 9 falls on Monday. We rest for 3 days - from May 7 to May 9 . By the way, anyone who works in an official job with a “white” salary has every right to write an application for vacation from May 4 to May 6, using only 3 days of vacation pay out of the required 28 and receiving a vacation of 10 days, which can be spent at sea.

Other holidays

June 12 - Russia Day

The most important event of June is Russia Day, which is celebrated on the 12th. In 2016 it will fall on a Sunday, so to “compensate” the 13th, Monday, will also be a day off. Rest - from 11 to 13 June .

Just in case, let’s also mention the most important day in the life of every student – September 1st. Despite the fact that this date is not “red” and there is no day off on this day, those adults who have school-age children will probably prepare for it. In 2016, Knowledge Day will be Thursday.

November 4 - National Unity Day

The penultimate holiday of the year is National Unity Day, which is celebrated on November 4. In 2016, it very successfully falls on Friday, allowing rest for 3 days in a row - from November 4 to 6 . In addition, Thursday – November 3 – will be made a shortened working day. The day of the Great October Revolution, beloved by the older generation, is a working day.

The holiday schedule for 2016 concludes with farewells to the outgoing year - we will celebrate them on the weekend: December 31 falls on Saturday.

You can already start planning your holidays in 2016: how we will relax, with whom we will relax, where exactly. Just keep in mind that excessive alcoholic libations are far from the only and not the best way to celebrate another occasion, and that in the vast majority of cases a person gets into problematic situations precisely in a state of intoxication.

How many days off will there be in 2016?

After we have compiled the holiday schedule, it will probably be interesting to know: how many holidays will there be in total in 2016? We will take into account both “regular” weekends and the holidays mentioned above.

January: 31 days, of which 16 are weekends (including “New Year holidays”);
February: 29 days, of which 9 are weekends;
March
April
May: 31 days, of which 12 are weekends;
June: 30 days, of which 9 are weekends;
July: 31 days, of which 10 are weekends;
August: 31 days, of which 8 are weekends;
September: 30 days, of which 8 are weekends;
October: 31 days, of which 10 are weekends;
November: 30 days, of which 9 are weekends;
December: 31 days, of which 9 are weekends.

Now we sum up all the rest days and calculate how many days off there will be for the New Year 2016 in total:

  • in the first half of the year: 182 days in total, 65 days off;
  • in the second half of the year: 184 days in total, 54 days off.

In total, next year we will have a rest of 119 days. We get 247 working days. Don't forget about your 28 days of vacation. If you manage to take them in parts, without interfering with weekends, you can not work for as many as 147 days - 40% of the year! But this is just a good year - don't think that Russians are lazy, it says the opposite.
