Traveling with Santa Claus

Misha was walking through the snow-covered forest and suddenly saw fresh footprints. They interested him extremely: someone just recently passed here in huge, enormous boots.

- Who could it be? Is it Santa Claus!

And indeed, soon the boy saw Santa Claus in the distance.

Are you surprised, baby, that I'm here? - Santa Claus asked Misha who ran up. “But I have a magic high-speed cloud that takes you to any place in an instant. Would you like to fly it with me?

Blimey!!! Who would turn down such a tempting offer?! Santa Claus sat the boy next to him on a cloud, and they flew in the blue of the night over snow-covered mountains and valleys. The cloud either soared up to the bright stars, then descended, touching the tops of fluffy Christmas trees. What an extraordinary journey it was!

Soon, the lights of a big city began to shine below. All the children have long dressed up Christmas trees and now they were sitting at home and waiting for gifts from Santa Claus. Only now all the chimneys, unfortunately, were closed. “How to get into houses to leave gifts? Do the kids never wait for them? Misha got nervous.

“Don’t worry, it’s better to watch carefully how I’ll do everything cleverly,” said Santa Claus, as if reading the boy’s thoughts, and scattered many small multi-colored parachutes with gifts from the cloud. To each of them was attached a piece of paper with the name of a girl or a boy. Parachutes slowly descended on the city ...

“Don’t worry,” Father Frost reassured Misha again, “downstairs, all the parachutes will meet the brownies and deliver gifts to the children.

Misha really wanted to continue this wonderful journey with Santa Claus ... but then he suddenly ... woke up and realized that, unfortunately, he only dreamed of all this.

"Where's my present?" Did the brownie manage to bring it? Misha exclaimed, remembering his unforgettable dream.

Jumping out of bed, the baby ran to the Christmas tree: what happiness! The gift in shiny paper was already in its place.

“But who knows,” thought a satisfied Misha, “maybe what I saw at night was not a dream at all ?!”

Father Frost

One winter day, little Pavlik and his girlfriend Katya were skiing in the forest. It was already beginning to get dark, and they hurried home, when suddenly, among the pines, the kids noticed a large and beautiful house illuminated. “What if Santa Claus himself lives here?” An unexpected thought flashed through Katya, and the girl immediately shared it with Pavlik.

“Let’s check, it won’t take long,” the boy continued, and the children immediately moved towards the big house.

Pavlik did not know if Santa Claus was at home, so he decided to look through the window first.

- Let's go see! he suggested to Katya.

The children crept quietly to the window and saw: an old man was sitting in the room, all in red and with a thick white beard, and packing gifts. The real Santa Claus! Pavlik wiped the frosted glass better, and friends saw as many toys as they had never seen in any store.

The children quietly moved away from the window so as not to interfere with Santa Claus, and hurried home to write letters to him: after all, you need to help an old grandfather, otherwise he does not know who wants to receive what gift for the New Year.

Gracheva Sofya from 1 "b" class and her "The Tale of the Penguin and the Fish".

Once upon a time there was a little penguin, and his name was Pinky. He lived in an ice house. And one day he went to the river to fish. And he caught one big fish, the other small. And then he caught another fish, not a simple one, but a golden one. And the fish said to him:
- Don't eat me, I'll still be useful to you, I'll be your friend.
"Okay," Pinky said.
- What is your name? the fish asked.
- I'm Pinky the penguin, - said Pinky. - And you?
"My name is Rina," Rina introduced herself.
- Do you know when the New Year will be? Pinky asked.
- I know, January 1, - said Rina.
- And what did you wish Santa Claus for the New Year? Pinky asked.
- Become the same as you, a penguin. In our family, it is customary to choose one cherished desire - it can be any desire - and make a wish for the New Year, - Rina answered. - This is my cherished wish.
"Even if you're a different animal?" Pinky asked in surprise.
"Yes," Rina replied.
"A strange desire," said Pinky. - And I want skis for the New Year, so that I can ride down the hill. Rina, can you come to visit us?
- No, I'm sorry, I live under water and I can't go on land, - said Rina. If I get on the snow, I will immediately freeze. We are not equipped to walk on dry land. Can you come to visit me, swim together?
- Well, only on the day off, when there will be school holidays, - Pinky answered.
- And what number will it be? Rina asked.
"December 23," Pinky replied. - Rina, why are you so golden?
Because I was born that way. We are all like that, goldfish. Different types of fish look different. Pinky, why do all the birds fly and you don't?
Because we were born like you, - Pinky answered.

Fifteen days later, Pinky the penguin and Rina the fish met.
- Here comes the New Year. We have a Christmas tree, - says Pinky.
- And we have a Christmas tree, elegant and beautiful, - says Rina.
- Ouch! Look, there is a sleigh and Santa Claus with a bag of gifts, - Pinky saw.
- Yes. Soon the night will come and all wishes will come true.
- Alas, it's late, - said Pinky, - it's time to go home.
And they went home. Santa Claus came to everyone and brought gifts to everyone. The penguin got skis, not simple, but magical. They can not only ride, but also fly. And the fish got a small box. Rina showed it to Pinky.
- What do you think is in it?
"Probably what you thought of," Pinky answered.
- But I wished to become the same penguin as you. This is my cherished wish! Rina exclaimed.
Rina opened the box, and it contained ice cream. She looked at him in surprise, but ate, and she wanted to sleep. Rina said goodbye to Pinky. And in the morning, as if nothing had happened, I decided to swim. Then Pinky swims up and says:
- Rina, it's you, what's wrong with you?
- And what!? the fish was surprised.
"You've become a penguin like me," Pinky replied.
- Really?! ... - Rina said, barely breathtaking. So my wish came true!
"Yes, as you can see," Pinky clarified. - Well, let's go for a walk.
Pinky took a ride on his magic skis. True, they almost took him to the other side. He stopped in time and gave Rina a ride. They enjoyed spending the whole day together. And they became good friends. They walked and played together. And they returned home happy and cheerful.

Sysoeva Marina from 2 "a" class and her fairy tale "Winter Adventure".

Once upon a time there was a girl Eva. It was winter, but there was no snow for a long time. Without snow, everyone was sad - both adults and children. She went for a walk in the forest. And in that forest lived a snowman. But he was very, very sad. The girl saw the Snowman and asked:
Are you sad without snow too?
- I know why there is no snow. The Evil Queen stole the Snow Pegasus, and if he is not rescued, there will be no snow,” the Snowman said sadly.
- Is there anything I can do to help? Eva asks.
- I don’t know ... We need to find a solar crystal, and then the evil Queen will become good and let Pegasus go.
Eva suddenly remembered that a small copy of the solar crystal was given to her for her birthday. Handing her the crystal, her friends cryptically said that the day would come when she would be able to help everyone, all adults and children. At that time, she paid no attention to their words. And now the girl told this to the Snowman, and he was very happy. Eve promised that she would soon make her way with this crystal to the castle of the evil Queen, and Pegasus would be released.
The snowman gave her a map that could be used to find the place where the evil Queen lives, and ... soon it began to snow again. And the joy of children and adults had no end. The Snowman was also happy, and became even more cheerful when he saw Eve flying in the distance on Pegasus.

But in the 2nd "b" class, as many as two winners emerged: Oleg Petukhov and Artem Ponomarev. Meet.

Petukhov Oleg and his "Good Tale".

On one distant desert island lived a strange little kind dragon named Drakosha.
The island was very far from the mainland, so no one came to visit him, did not fly in or sailed. The dragon was very sad and lonely. He did not know what friends and comrades were. He didn't have holidays. He did not know that once a year there is such a fun holiday as the New Year. He has never seen snow, a Christmas tree, Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.

And then one day in one of his lonely days, when Drakosha was walking along the seashore, in the distance he saw a ship that was heading exactly to his island. "Who could it be?" Draco thought. He was very happy: “Soon I will not be alone, cheers!”
The ship sailed closer and closer, and Drakosha saw a black flag on its mast. He didn't like it very much. He decided to hide in the thicket of the forest and look. When the ship sailed to the shore, Drakosha saw that very scary, evil little men were descending from it and leading a bound old grandfather with a white beard and a very beautiful girl in a wonderful blue cap and fur coat. One of the most formidable little men said: “Let's leave them here, soon it will be hot and the Snow Maiden will melt, and let grandfather sit and grieve. And we will take all the gifts and surprises to our island and eat sweets and play with interesting toys that they have prepared for the children for a whole year. And let the children sit for a long, long time and wait for the holiday. And they led their captives into the forest.
"It's terrible," Drakosha thought, "how such a beautiful girl can melt." He felt sorry for the old grandfather and those guys who sit and wait for gifts. And he decided to release the girl and the old grandfather.

The dragon was kind, but he really did not like evil and unfair people. And once upon a time, his grandfather Dragon Dragon taught him several magical things. He could turn living beings into dry trees, stones, stumps for a while.
An angry Drakosha rushed into the forest. First, he decided to negotiate with the little men in an amicable way. "Please let the poor old man and the girl go!" Drakosha shouted to them. But in response, they just laughed at him. “Who are you to tell us? they squeaked. "We'll connect you now." And the evil little men rushed to Drakosha. But Drakosha was very dexterous and courageous. He released fire from his mouth and the first three men quickly turned into round stones. For a few seconds, the little men froze, but then they again rushed at Drakosha. But he did not lose his head and turned a few more of them into dry trees. There are only four villains left. They got scared and decided to run to the ship.
“No, you won’t leave,” said Drakosha, and four dry stumps appeared on the road. He ran to the grandfather and the girl and untied them.

Thank you so much, dear Dragon! - the grandfather and the girl told him. - You saved us and a lot of guys who are now waiting for us, waiting for gifts, waiting for the New Year! After all, if we do not come, the holiday will not come.
- What is the New Year? Drakosha asked.
- You don't know what New Year is? – the girl was surprised. - My name is Snegurochka, and this is my grandfather - Santa Claus. We invite you to our holiday!
The dragon was very happy. He had never been to a party before in his life.
- Then they quickly ran to the ship, because soon my magical action will end and the evil little men will come to life.
And all three rushed to the ship.

After a few days of sailing, the ship sailed to land. But she was all white and shone with multi-colored lights.
- What it is? - Drakosha asked the Snow Maiden.
“It’s snow,” the girl said. - You're so funny.
They got into the sleigh and rushed through the forests and fields covered with snow. There is very little left before the start of the new year.
"How beautiful!" Draco thought. And now a huge house appeared in front of the Drakosha. There were many, many guys there. But as soon as the guys saw Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden on the threshold, they shouted with joy and clapped their hands.
- Happy New Year, dear guys, with new happiness! Santa Claus said. - We are very glad to see you. We were in a hurry, but on the way we met evil robbers who did not want the New Year to come. But our new friend Drakosha saved us and our holiday. Therefore, our New Year will be the year of the good Dragon!
- Hooray! the guys shouted.
- Hooray - shouted Drakosha.
And the holiday has begun! He was very happy, because now he is not alone - he has a lot of kind and good friends!

And Ponomarev Artem with his fairy tale "Factory of Santa Claus".

Once upon a time there was a boy named Petya. Once at school, he heard from high school students that Santa Claus does not exist. He was very sad and when he came home, he decided to make a strange wish. If it does not come true, then the older guys are telling the truth. If it comes true - all notions. And his desire was this: to visit the magic factory of Santa Claus.

On New Year's Eve, when he had already forgotten about his desire, the boy woke up from the cold. Opening his eyes, he saw that all the windows in his room were open. Sitting down on the bed, Petya looked through the open window at the magical Troll, who was sitting on a shining snow sleigh and, as it turned out, was expecting a boy. And suddenly the Troll says to him: “Well, you are a sleepyhead. Stop sitting, or someone will see me. Hurry! We are still waiting for two of the same unbelieving guys.” The boy quickly jumped off the bed and miraculously found himself in the sleigh. A few seconds later, two more guys were sitting next to him: Styopa and his sister Olya.
- Where are we going? Olya whispered softly.
- You wanted to visit the magic factory of Santa Claus! The troll replied with a laugh.
Nothing was visible. Everything is white-white. In the white icy desert stood an icy house. From icicles, all shone. Santa Claus was waiting for the guys there!

The sledge slowly descended. And Petya, Styopa and Olya could not move. They didn't believe their eyes. It was actually the magic factory of Santa Claus. The children entered the factory and were amazed. Toys glittered all around, sweets, cookies and confetti rained down. A serpentine flew around the factory and slowly descended into gift bags. Snowflakes fell from the ceiling. And cheerful dwarfs in smart collars and white gloves neatly packed gifts. Various magical toys were created in the toy shop.
- Well, guys, do you like my factory? - the children heard the voice of Santa Claus and turned around.
- Of course! This is just a miracle! the guys shouted.
- I will tell you a secret: I come only to those who believe in me.
And suddenly each of the guys suddenly woke up in his bed, and under the tree he found a red bag showered with confetti and serpentine.
The tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it, a lesson for good fellows. Believe - it turns out and then everything comes true!

Symonenko Vika from 3 "a" class and her fairy tale "Seven Stars".

The boy Dima lived in Krasnoyarsk. He was seven years old. On New Year's Eve, Dima and his parents began to prepare for the long-awaited holiday. They called guests, decorated the house, cut salads. And here Dima approaches his mother:
- Mom, are we going to celebrate the New Year without a Christmas tree?
- Oh, right. We didn't buy a tree!
They got together and, together with dad, went to the mall to get a Christmas tree. Of course, there were not only Christmas trees, but also firecrackers, Christmas decorations and stars. But most of all Dima liked the garlands. He went to them. They shimmered like that: now red, then yellow, then green, then blue. Dima really wanted to decorate a New Year tree with one of the garlands. He went to his parents and wanted to tell about it, but they were gone. Dima was horrified. He started running around the store, but they were nowhere to be found. Some passer-by approached Dima:
- What happened, boy?
- My parents are gone!
- How did they disappear?
- Well, we came here for the Christmas tree. I went to the garlands, and when I returned, they were gone.
- Do you remember your address?
- No, I'm only seven years old!
- Well then, stay here and don't go anywhere, but I'll come soon and everything will be fine.

She left. But for some reason the boy was scared. He saw some shadows. Then Dima got even more frightened. He began to run around the mall and ask everyone: “Have you seen my parents?”. But everyone just looked at him very strangely and passed by.
Then Dima ran out into the street and began to remember the way home.
Everything around was unfamiliar. Then Dima sat down on the snow and tears flowed from his eyes. "I'd give anything to come home," he muttered, sobbing.

And suddenly he saw the stars lit up in the sky. He stopped sobbing and looked at them. Then he started counting them. There were seven of them. “Wow, I have never seen such bright stars,” thought Dima.
They burned so intensely that the boy's eyes hurt. He closed his eyes. Then the light went out. Dima opened his eyes. Strange, but he was no longer on the snow in an unfamiliar place, but in front of his house. “Is this my house!?” - the boy was surprised.
Dima ran into his apartment.
- Mommy, daddy!!!
- Dimochka, dear! Mom and dad rushed to him.
- I missed you so much!!! But why did you leave me at the mall?
- Son, it was you who suddenly disappeared somewhere, and we were looking for you for a long time.
Everyone was very happy, dressed up the Christmas tree together and began to celebrate the New Year.
When Dima went to bed, he was tormented by one question for a long time: “How did I get home?”

Shraer Valeria from 3 "b" class and her fairy tale "Christmas adventures of schoolchildren".

Once, third-graders gathered in their class for the New Year's holiday and began to discuss Santa Claus.
- Santa Claus exists! Petya said. - Santa Claus always comes to us with the Snow Maiden and gives us gifts.
- Santa Claus does not exist! Anya and Kolya assured him. - It's the parents asking the actors to come to our house.
- Santa Claus exists! Masha exclaimed. - Where do the actors get so many gifts ?!
- Santa Claus exists! Eva screamed.
And then the argument began. The guys were arguing and arguing, but suddenly they felt dizzy, their eyes darkened, it became dark.
And then the sun shone, the guys woke up and they became very cold. The students looked around and to their surprise found that they were in the forest.
- Where are we? the children asked with one voice.
- Guys, help! - a very young girl in a blue fur coat and cap ran to the children.
Golden curls lay on her shoulders, and blue eyes looked at the schoolchildren.
- Yes, it's the Snow Maiden! Masha exclaimed.
- Yes, that's right, - the Snow Maiden nodded, - and you ended up in a magical forest where Santa Claus lives. Unfortunately, you won't be able to return home until you help us. The New Year is under threat. The Evil Ice Dragon took Santa Claus prisoner. We must save him!

So the guys and the Snow Maiden went to save Santa Claus. They walked and walked, and a blizzard attacked them.
- What do we do? Kolya asked.
- Come up with a magic spell, - said the Snow Maiden.
The guys consulted for a long time, argued, and finally came up with magic words. As soon as they uttered them, the blizzard stopped, and in the distance the guys saw some kind of cave. The Snow Maiden said that the Ice Dragon lives there.
Friends decided to go there. They went inside the cave and saw an ice statue of Santa Claus.
"We need to warm him up," Eve said.
The guys began to dance around Santa Claus and warmed him up. But then the Ice Dragon appeared.
- Who is in my cave? he growled menacingly.
- It's us, schoolchildren! the guys shouted. - We want to give you New Year's gifts, because on New Year's Eve everyone gives each other gifts.
- Present? Nobody has ever given me gifts.
- You just got offended and became angry. Let Santa Claus go and go with us to our holiday, - friends said.
And then suddenly everything began to spin in a whirlwind and the children again found themselves in their class.
- And yet Santa Claus exists! - the guys exclaimed in unison. They spun in a round dance and the fun began.
Do you believe in Santa Claus?

New Year is one of the oldest and most joyful holidays in the world.. At the same time, it is surprising that there is no other holiday that would be celebrated all over the world on such different dates and whose traditions would be so different. In Russia, as in most European countries, as well as in the USA and Australia, the new year begins on January 1st. Back in 1700, the Russian Tsar Peter I issued a decree according to which the New Year should be celebrated. People decorated houses with pine, spruce and juniper branches, arranged fiery fun and festive firing. Over time, they began to decorate the Christmas trees brought into the house. So the green Christmas tree turned into one of the symbols of this holiday, becoming its main decoration, along with Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. By the way, Santa Clauses look different in all countries. Our Russian Santa Claus wears a red fur coat to the toes, felt boots, a high fur hat, and holds a staff and a bag with gifts in his hands.

In America, New Year's grandfather - Santa Claus - wears a short red jacket and a funny cap on his head. He travels through the air on a reindeer team and enters the homes of babies through a chimney.

In Belgium and Poland, New Year's grandfather St. Nicholas is considered the very first Santa Claus, because, as the ancient legend says, he left golden apples in a slipper in front of the fireplace to his family. St. Nicholas wears a white robe and rides a horse, accompanied by a Moorish servant, Black Peter, who helps carry a heavy bag of gifts for obedient children.

Naughty people do not receive gifts - for them, Black Peter wears rods.

In France, a grandfather with a staff and a wide-brimmed hat, whose name is Pere Noel ("Christmas Grandfather"), puts gifts right up the chimney.

The Swedish grandfather - Jologomten - stacks gifts by the stove, and the German Santa Claus leaves his gifts on the windowsill.

Mexican kids find gifts in the shoe, and English kids in the sock. At the first stroke of the clock at New Year's midnight, the English and Scots open the back door of the house to let out the Old Year, and at the last stroke of the clock they open the front door, letting in the New Year.

In Italy, on New Year's Eve, grandpa Babo Nattale and the good fairy Befana visit the children. They give obedient children gifts that they leave on the balcony, while lazy and capricious children get only coal. And on New Year's Eve, Italians throw old things out of windows - cracked flower pots, peeled chairs, holey boots fly onto the pavement ... The more things you throw away, the inhabitants of sunny Italy believe, the more wealth the new year will bring.

The funniest name, perhaps, is that of the Finnish Santa Claus - Joulupukki (in Finnish, "youlu" is Christmas, and "pukki" is a goat). This name was not given to him by chance: many years ago he wore a goat skin and delivered gifts to children riding on a small goat.

Joulupukki is not far behind the Uzbek snow grandfather Korbobo, who, dressed in a striped robe, delivers gifts to the kids on a donkey. The snow maiden Korgyz accompanies him. In Mongolia, grandfather Uvlin Uvgun wears the clothes of a cattle breeder, because the Mongolian New Year coincides with the festival of cattle breeding.

Australian Santa Claus named Sylvester cuts through the country kangaroos in the same swimming trunks and on a scooter: on a holiday it is unusually hot there. The local Snow Maiden in a bathing suit helps Sylvester deliver gifts.

In Greece and Cyprus, the New Year's grandfather is called St. Basil, in Spain - Papa Noel, in Cambodia - Ded Zhar, in Colombia - Pascual, in the Netherlands - Sunderklaas, in Romania - Mosh Jerile, in the Czech Republic - Grandfather Mikulash.

But, for example, in Norway, gifts to children are distributed by little brownies - nisse. They wear knitted caps and are very fond of sweets. Therefore, in order to appease them and get more gifts, on New Year's Eve, children lay out various delicacies around the house in secluded corners.

In India, on New Year's Eve, parents place small gifts on a tray, and on New Year's Day, children must wait with their eyes closed until they are brought to the tray.

In Japan, on New Year's Eve, bunches of straw are hung in front of the entrance to the house, which, according to residents, attracts happiness and scares away evil spirits. At the time of the New Year, the Japanese begin to laugh, believing that laughter will bring them good luck in the coming year. The Japanese Santa Claus is called Oji-san.

In Belgium and the Netherlands, there is a belief that a person's behavior on the first day of the new year determines what awaits him in the coming year. Therefore, on this day, people try to do nothing. They prepare a lot of delicious food in advance and put on something new.

In Hungary, on the morning of the first day of the new year, they wash their hands not with soap, but with coins - so that money is not transferred in their hands all year.

In the Balkan countries, for the New Year, various objects are laid out on the table: a pine twig (for happiness), a ring (for a wedding), a doll (for the birth of a child), money (for wealth) and cover them with a fur hat. Then everyone sitting at the table must pull out an object three times, and if he gets the same one three times, this means that in the new year the event that this object symbolizes awaits him.

In Iran, even a few weeks before the New Year, grains of wheat or barley are planted in a small dish: sprouted grains symbolize the beginning of spring and the new year of life.

The clever Chinese celebrate the onset of the New Year twice: on January 1, and again somewhere between January 23 and February 19 - the date changes all the time, since on this day the New Year begins, calculated according to the Chinese lunar calendar.

Celebrating the New Year during the new moon is an amazingly beautiful sight! Street processions with firecrackers and firecrackers scare away evil spirits from the houses, and so that they definitely do not get inside, the residents seal the windows and doors with paper. Chinese New Year grandfather Shou Xing takes part in all this fun.

Preparations for the New Year in Eastern countries, as elsewhere, begin long before the holiday. In about two weeks, festive bazaars open in all crowded squares, where you can buy various toys, stars, lanterns of various sizes and shapes - in the form of fish, dragons, horses, birds. Candles are lit inside these bizarre figurines. A lot of toys molded from dough are sold these days: warriors with swords riding horses, boats with rowers in colorful clothes, amazingly beautiful lotuses, figures of animals and birds. And also clay figurines of animals and people.

In Vietnam, the New Year usually starts in February. Local residents believe that God lives in every house, and in the new year this God goes to heaven to tell the Supreme Lord in detail how each family member spent the past year.

On a certain day, before the image of the Spirit of the hearth, people light candles and incense sticks, and also put sweet dishes. Sweets are offered for a reason - so that the Spirit's lips stick together and he does not say too much there, in heaven. And since the Vietnamese believe that God swims on the back of a carp, on a holiday they buy a live carp and then release it into a river or pond. In addition, in Vietnam for the New Year, you should definitely buy a hat, which are also sold in New Year's markets in a variety of styles and colors.

There is a special attitude to hats in the East. The hat is there a symbol of power and an indispensable attribute of the wardrobe of a big boss.

In Korea, for the New Year, at numerous Christmas tree markets, they sell not Christmas trees, like ours, but peach branches and trees, symbolizing the onset of spring.

The colorful rituals that accompany the celebration of the New Year in the East have a very definite meaning. In addition to the incessant crackling of firecrackers that drive out evil spirits so that they do not overshadow the holiday, there are many more traditions. The celebration of the New Year, as a rule, lasts for several days. On the second day, you must definitely visit your parents and close relatives if they live separately, and on the third day, do not forget to go to the teacher and congratulate him. In the first days of the new year, you can’t wear white clothes (in the East it is the color of mourning), you can’t talk about death, make faces, imitating monkeys, and take out the trash.

And in some countries, the New Year is generally celebrated not in the winter months. So, in Indonesia, this event falls on October. On the first day of the new year, all the people there ask each other for forgiveness for the trouble they caused in the past year. In Burma, the New Year celebration falls on the hottest days of April. Starting from April 1, for a whole week, people sincerely pour water on each other and have fun at the New Year's Tinjan Water Festival. Iranians celebrate the New Year on March 21st.

Most of all, Jews celebrate the New Year - as many as four times. At the beginning of autumn, during the harvest season, there comes a feast of sacrifice to God of the harvested fruits. Turning to the Almighty, people ask to save the harvest. From this holiday, the ancient Jews counted the days of the new year.

Later, in mid-September, Jews celebrate Adam's birthday and Rosh Hashanah. It is considered the beginning of the New Year for the reckoning.

It is believed that on this day the Lord determines how a person lived. Therefore, on this holiday, people rejoice in the past year and pray for peace, harmony and happiness in the next year. The prayer says: “May this year be kind and sweet!” In the festive meal, there is certainly honey, in which you need to dip pieces of apple and bread.

At the beginning of spring, Jews celebrate the New Year of Trees - in Israel, almonds bloom at this time. People welcome the blossoming buds and the first green leaves, thereby honoring the beginning of a new life in the promised land. It is customary to plant trees on this day. And, of course, everyone celebrates the traditional New Year - January 1st. In fact, it doesn’t matter when and how people celebrate the New Year or what the name of the snow grandfather is, the main thing is that on New Year’s Eve all kind and obedient children always receive wonderful gifts from Santa Claus!

You can always write a letter to Santa Claus at the following addresses:

Official postal address:

A story about how the animals in the forest celebrated the New Year, about the friendship of the animals, about how they take care of each other.

New Year's gift

It was New Year's Eve. Outside the windows was wonderful winter weather: the snow was falling in such large flakes that it densely covered all the streets and houses, and huge snowdrifts appeared in the yards to the delight of the children.

It was also a real winter in the forest, all the animals sat at home and were afraid to even stick their noses out into the street. Baby animals decorated their houses with funny New Year's toys, and adults, of course, prepared New Year's dinner.

Only the little white bunny was not up to the holiday: he had run out of all the supplies at home, and he did not know what to cook a festive dinner from. And he really wanted something tasty!

He sat, sat by the window, and suddenly came up with an idea. Bunny dressed warmer in his yellow fur coat, put a striped cap on his head, a smart striped scarf around his neck and went into the forest to look for a treat for the New Year's table.

The Bunny wandered for a long time through the forests and fields, but did not find anything - everything was covered with snow. He was about to return home with nothing, when he noticed that something red was visible behind a bush in the distance. Bunny came closer and was stunned: “What luck!”

Under the snow lay two large beets. In the summer there was a large beet field, the crop was harvested, and these two beets went unnoticed. Without hesitation, Bunny grabbed the beets and joyfully ran home, singing a cheerful song along the way:

Harvest fields

Were in September

And I found, la-la-la,

Beets in December!

I carry a couple of beetroots

In a hole behind the mountain

And I will arrange in the forest

The called feast by the mountain.

I'm guests for the New Year

I can invite.

The delicacy of animals awaits

Delicious stew.

Though the earth lies in the snow

The blizzard is howling

Mood, la-la-la-

Could not be better!

Running home, Zaichik began to cook delicious stew from one beetroot, and put the other aside in reserve.

While preparing dinner, Bunny composed the following New Year's poem:

Outside the window is snowing

White carousel.

New Year brings, my friend,

Joy and fun:

Waiting for toys and sweets

Under the green tree

A bright ball on every branch,

Silver needles.

Finally, Zaichik cooked a delicious stew, ate a little, sat down at the table, full and satisfied, and began to think: “It's cold outside, and the snowdrifts are very deep. The New Year is coming soon, and the little Donkey is probably sitting hungry right now. I'll take him the second beet." And the Bunny went to the Donkey.

He came to his house, knocked on the door - no one answered. Then the Bunny opened it and looked inside: the Donkey was not at home.

But the whole room was decorated with fragrant spruce branches. Right on the wall hung a large sheet of paper with poems that Donkey had composed for the New Year. Here are the verses:

Dancing in velvet blizzards

Snowflakes dance - round dance.

Garlands and balls - on the spruce.

The holiday is coming - New Year!

Let everything that we have long wanted

He will bring us a gift!

“Probably,” thought the Bunny, “the Donkey also went to look for a treat. But he is unlikely to be as lucky as I am: since I walked in the field, the snow has been attacking even more. Bunny decided to leave the beets to his friend and put them on the table. “When the Donkey comes, he will be very happy!” thought the happy Bunny.

And the Donkey was really hungry and went to look for something for the New Year's dinner.

Only the Bunny was mistaken, thinking that his friend would not find anything: the Donkey, of course, had to walk around the field for a long time, he even dug up the snow with his hooves, but still found a big tasty potato.

The donkey jumped for joy and hurried home to enjoy delicious mashed potatoes at dinner.

Donkey runs home, carries a huge potato in his bosom - and he feels so good in his soul! Dazzling white snow sparkles all around, bullfinches jump on branches and sing something - in general, everyone is in a great pre-New Year mood.

Donkey runs skipping and sings a song:

In the field, digging snow with a hoof,

I found a potato in it!

The tuber will be useful to me

On a frosty day in December!

Ding dong, ding dong!

There is a hut on the mountain -

This is my cozy home

Where do I make mashed potatoes.

TV after the feast

I will turn it on today.

Will come to the house from television

New Year's holiday.

Dear Santa Claus!

I'll be waiting for you to bring

I have a bag of gifts in the house!

Dili-dili-dili-bom!

Donkey ran home, and there on the table lies a juicy red beetroot: who could bring him such a luxurious gift ?! Here's a surprise!

The surprised Donkey could not understand in any way where the beets appeared in his house. He began to prepare a New Year's dinner, and he kept thinking: “Who brought me such a generous gift?”

I see beets - miracles!

Dili-ding, dilly-bom!

Who brought her here

In my cozy warm house?

Maybe my sister

Have you been here this morning?

No, from a distant warm farm

She probably can't get it.

Squirrel? She is small

And the beetroot is heavy.

Friend Bear sleeps in a den,

In a mink, the Hedgehog sniffs in a dream,

The snake sleeps under a heavy stump

Under the bark - Spider and Bees.

Well, of course, Santa Claus

Brought juicy beets!

Or still a true friend,

What does not sleep during a blizzard?

A. N. Ostrovsky in 1873 interprets the “Snow Maiden” in his own spring fairy tale in a completely different way. Under the influence of different versions of the fairy tale, he writes the play “The Snow Maiden”. Now she is an adult - a beauty - the daughter of Frost and Spring, who dies in the summer. She has the appearance of a beautiful pale blonde girl. Dressed in white and blue clothes with fur trim (fur coat, fur hat, mittens). Initially, the play was not successful with the public. But the opera of the same name, which in 1882 N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov put on the play, was a huge success.

The book can be bought with illustrations by V. Vasnetsov (Meshcheryakov Publishing House)

And one more, much less known fairy tale about the Snow Maiden. Wrote it Veniamin Kaverin, and it is aimed, of course, at adults or teenagers who are already reading books for adults. The reviews write that this is "Monday begins on Saturday" in miniature.

But what are we all about the granddaughter! Time to talk about grandpa.

What kind of fairy tales about Frost were invented by the people (though not about Santa Claus, about Frost), as soon as they called him. And Frost the Red Nose, and Frost the Blue Nose, and Crack Frost. And how many storytellers were fascinated by this image! A. N. Afanasiev called him Morozko, V. F. Odoevsky called him Moroz Ivanovich, because each author has his own idea of \u200b\u200bthis image.

So such fairy tales appeared: “Moroz Ivanovich” (there is a shorter Russian folk tale and in the retelling of V. F. Odoevsky - a little more authentic (about the Needlewoman and Sloth). In the proposed publication - illustrations by the artist Konashevich V. M., publishing house Melik-Pashaev, 2013

Let's call some fairy tale books "truly New Year's" - the thing in them takes place precisely on the New Year.

A few tales about the main guest of the New Year - Yolka.

Probably, the story “Yolka”, written by V.G. Suteev back in 1955, can already be considered a classic (there is also a cartoon based on this tale - “The Snowman-Mailman”).
There is in the new collection of the AST publishing house in 2015 "Soon, soon the New Year!".

And another Russian classic has a New Year's story called "Yolka" - M. M. Zoshchenko. It takes place on New Year's Eve by the Christmas tree.

A variety of New Year's stories

V. Golyavkin "How I celebrated the New Year" (we offer a scan with the author's pictures).

N. Nosov's story "Sparklers" was first published in Murzilka in the winter of 1945. This is from a cycle of stories about Misha and Kolya, when Misha made sparklers, and then they went together to the forest for a Christmas tree ... In the text of N. Nosov, quite realistic , the difficulties experienced by the country are somehow felt: the children make sparklers themselves, they also went to cut the Christmas tree in the forest on their own, without dad, the main and, apparently, the only treat at the table is a pie baked by Mishka Kozlov’s mother.

Around the same time, the fairy tale "Two Brothers" by Yevgeny Schwartz was written. A story about responsibility. On the eve of the New Year, the younger brother, offended by the elder, left home. The father sent the elder to look for the younger, he met Great-Grandfather Frost in the forest ...

In this edition of the book, not just illustrations by a wonderful artist Nikolai Mikhailovich Kochergin, it was published by the Nigma publishing house in the series "Heritage of N. Kochergin"

Tales of New Year and Christmas

Often fairy tales, and other texts that were written a long time ago (and not only) refer not so much to the New Year as to Christmas.

Charles Dickens is considered the father of Christmas books. In the middle of the 19th century, he composed several Christmas stories and began to publish them in the December issues of his magazines Home Reading and All the Year Round. Dickens combined the stories with the title "Christmas Books": "Christmas Carol in Prose", "Christmas Ghost Story", "Bells", "The Story of the Spirits of the Church Clock", "The Cricket Behind the Hearth", "The Tale of Family Happiness", "The Battle of Life", "The Tale of Love" , “Possessed, or a Deal with a Ghost” - all these works are densely populated with supernatural creatures: both angels and various evil spirits. Since ancient times, the time of the shortest days and the longest nights has been perceived as a confrontation between light and darkness. If Dickens and his followers did not believe that the outcome of the struggle between Good and Evil depends on the will of people, there would simply be no Christmas stories. " Christmas, writes Dickens, this is the time when, louder than at any other time of the year, the memory of all sorrows, insults and suffering in the world around us speaks in us<…>and, just like everything that we ourselves have experienced in our lifetime, it encourages us to do good. Miraculous salvation, the rebirth of evil into good, reconciliation of enemies, forgetfulness of insults are popular motives for Christmas and Christmas stories.

Now stores offer a paperback edition of this book from the Classics series (Azbuka Publishing House), in which there are 2 stories: A Christmas Carol in Prose (1843) and Bells (1844).

The tradition took root well in Russian literature. Until 1917, almanacs, special issues of illustrated magazines, annual newspapers were published for the holidays - according to A.P. Chekhov, with "all sorts of Christmas stuff."

Even before the named stories of Dickens, the now well-known "The Night Before Christmas" by N.V. Gogol appeared to everyone. Proposed book from Eksmo publishing house 2012 with illustrations by the artist Anatoly Slepkov, which are called original. In most reviews, these illustrations are praised, but some of them seemed insufficiently bright and expressive.

“... they are “alive”, give the book a certain mystery. A good font for reading, despite the monotony of color, colorfully designed pages .... The book turned out to be simply magical ... the artist managed to convey this spirit of magic, miracle, wonderful holiday. Magic that at least once a year allows not only witches and devils to fly. You look at these illustrations in snowy, white-and-blue tones, and you hear the crunch of snow under your feet, you feel how a light frost stings your cheeks, you inhale the fresh, invigorating night air ... before your eyes - wonderful pictures: Solokha with her unlucky admirers, beautiful Oksana, admiring her reflection, and admiring her blacksmith Vakula.

And the almost forgotten "Night of Christmas" by K. Baranov.

Indeed, Christmas books were ubiquitous and far from monotonous. They amazingly combined the heritage of ancient bylichka and Christian morality.

Wonderful Christmas stories were created by: N. S. Leskov: “The Unchangeable Ruble”, “The Beast”, “The Sealed Angel”, “Christ Visiting the Man”.
There is a collection of the best works by N. S. Leskov "Lefty", published back in 2006 by the AST publishing house in the series "World Children's Library" Artist: Tyurin A. "Great art direction (color illustrations and cloth cover) make this book even more attractive."

From fairy tales D. N. Mamin-Sibiryaka The Christmas theme is related to the fairy tale “It's time to sleep” - the last from the cycle “Alyonushka's Tales” and “Wintering on Studenaya”.

Of Christmas stories in their classic form, perhaps the most festive of Christmas tales is E. T. A. Hoffmann's The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Gift story. Fairy tale gift. The events of The Nutcracker begin on Christmas Eve (December 24), at that very solemn moment when Christians expect the first star to appear in the evening sky.. Of course, many "Soviet" and even current publications emasculate the Christmas theme, but let's keep in mind that once Hoffmann composed the most Christmas fairy tale.

There were a lot of editions of this book by Hoffmann. A very famous illustrator of the Nutcracker - Nika Goltz, Makhaon Publishing House, 2015 offered publication in the series "Masterpieces of Children's Literature"

Back in 2011, the publishing house Rosmen-Press published a publication with illustrations by the artist Maxim Mitrofanov: « A familiar, wonderful, romantic story presented in superb illustrations that can bring even a dark fairy tale like The Nutcracker to life.«.

Publishing house "Rech" in 2015 released Hoffmann's fairy tale with illustrations of the work Valery Alferovsky that give the story a special magic. This book was the last book illustrated by the artist, it was published only once - in 1978. There are a lot of drawings in this edition, out of 64 spreads, only 12 remained with bare text. The drawings here are of the most different sizes: for the whole page, for half, for a third. All of them are in an unusual technique, drawn with goose feathers and watercolors. “The works are simply amazing: so delicate, bright, beautiful, like pictures from vintage European postcards.” The translation here is classic and most complete - Irina Tatarinova.
On the Internet you can see several illustrations, as well as unique illustrations by Dagmar Berkove for the Nutcracker. There were also excellent illustrations by G. Spirin.
There is a wonderful audio performance based on The Nutcracker with music by Tchaikovsky, there are already more than one cartoon.

The same thing happened to G. H. Andersen. We knew the Snow Queen, not tied to Christmas. But the author "... the children sang a Christmas carol: “Roses are blooming… Beauty, beauty! Soon we will see the baby Christ» (Translated by A. Ganzen). Sometimes, in edited editions, formidable angels turned into "little men."

Already in the 2000s, a fairy tale was translated into Russian Lyman Frank Baum"The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus". Baum wrote it in 1902, right after The Wizard of Oz. The biography of Santa Claus invented by the storyteller has little in common with the biography of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Baum, in his own way, explains to the kids where Christmas presents come from. " When the world was still young, one forest nymph adopted an abandoned baby - Klaus. He grew up and, living in the Laughing Valley, began to make toys to give them to children. In the end, people recognized him as a saint, and the immortals gave him their mantle. The storyteller has it all figured out. Over time, “old Klaus not only delivered gifts, but also sent toys to stores so that parents, if they wanted to give their children more toys, would easily find them there. And if for some reason Klaus can't bring a gift to a child, he can go to the store himself and get as many toys as he wants. For the friend of the little ones decided that not a single child should be left without a gift that he dreams of.

Lagerlöf Selma Ottilius Luvis. "The Legend of the Christmas Rose". This is an amazing tale about the miracles that took place in the Geingen Forest. And the only surviving evidence of those events is a fragile flower that grew from the roots collected by Abbot John. Despite the cold, it blooms in the middle of winter, and for this it was called the Christmas rose - as a reminder of that wonderful garden that once bloomed in the wilderness on the holy night. A fairy tale in which even the most cruel and callous hearts are filled with the expectation of a miracle.

When translating books from foreign languages in Soviet times, they often tried to replace Christmas with the New Year, and Santa Claus and Pierre Noel with Father Frost.
Not all Christmas tales are overtly religious in nature, and even some contemporary author's tales and stories are simply light and joyful.

Nancy Walker Guy"The best gift for Christmas." A Christmas story about the adventures of a teddy bear, a hare and a raccoon on their way to visit a badger. The Christmas gifts are a hit! However, along the way, they get caught in a snow storm, and the wind blows away the beautiful garlands, colorful Christmas decorations, and the sparkling Star of Bethlehem. There is nothing to do, they have to go to visit with empty paws. But Christmas wouldn't be Christmas if miracles didn't happen that night...

This story, absolutely Christmas in spirit, wonderfully told with the help of illustrations (artist Briswalter Maren), can be considered even by the smallest child. The book very well conveys the feeling of a Christmas miracle in life - the child, holding his breath, is waiting for how the fearless journey through the winter forest will end.

Fairy tales are modern

The above fairy tales have become, relatively speaking, New Year and Christmas classics, but in recent years many good books have been published, written by Russian authors, and fairy tales of authors from various countries translated into Russian.

fairy tale Andrei Zhvalevsky and Evgenia Pasternak"The True Story of Santa Claus" The action of the story spans a whole century. By chance, engineer-traveler Sergei Ivanovich Morozov once a year turns into Santa Claus. Together with him, we live the 20th century and step into the 21st century, and before our eyes passes the history of our country, bright and gloomy, victorious and tragic, familiar and unfamiliar. Comments in the margins tell about important historical events and about everyday life in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, about calendar and spelling reforms, about what Father Frost did wrong before the Soviet government, and about many, many other things..

The book was written in 2007, addressed to children aged 8-12, those who have not yet parted completely with faith in the New Year's miracle, but are already ready to learn the truth about the life and history of their country. There are already three editions of this book - standard, gift and collection, in all illustrations by artists: Britvin Victor, Muratova Olga Valerievna.
In the Labyrinth - there are all three versions of the book, the link - the collector's edition

One of the most popular contemporary children's writers, Andrey Usachyov, has great respect for the winter and New Year theme. He writes stories, poems, fairy tales and makes many audiobooks and plays. Then the available works are combined into collections. First, “From the Life of Snowmen” and “Snowmen School” appeared: once before the new year, Santa Claus decided that he did not have enough helper grandchildren. And she and the Snow Maiden made 11 snowmen and 9 snowmen. And then his quiet life ended ... Funny, fascinating and instructive stories about the adventures of little snowmen in the magical village of Dedmorozovka.

Then the collections "Santa Claus from Dedmorozovka" and "Miracles in Dedmorozovka" appeared. In 2008, the book was published in two parts and in a New Year's design. It turned out very festive. A. Usachev came up with a wonderful village "Dedmorozovka", settled Santa Claus, Snegurochka and their snowman helpers (girls and boys) there and not only told how they give gifts for the New Year, but also about what they do the rest season: snowmen study at the school of snowmen and generally behave like all other children: they are upset because of grades, hooligans, enjoy life. There are quite a few stories in each book. Usually, the design of books is not inferior to the content: hardcover, thick white paper, chic New Year's frames covered with winter patterns and colorful expressive illustrations. Alexandra Alira,Ekaterina Zdornova, Viktor Chizhikov.

Now stores offer 4 collections from this series: School of Snowmen, Olympic Village Dedmorozovka, Santa Claus Post Office.

Especially for young readers, Andrey Usachev prepared a collection of poems "The Alphabet of Santa Claus". To memorize most of the letters, he came up with two poems. The entire primer deals with the winter theme and the New Year holidays, a colorful large picture is drawn for each poem. With this alphabet, you will not only repeat all the letters of the Russian alphabet with your children, but also find out where the New Year comes from, where Santa Claus lives and where crayfish spend the winter, and you will also reveal many, many other New Year's secrets.

Translations of foreign authors

Sven Nordqvist, a Swedish writer and artist, is already well known in Russia to children and parents. Sven Nordqvist himself illustrates his books. “I like to do everything myself,” he says. And he writes and draws about Petson, whose whole house and yard is inhabited by small funny creatures. Sven Nordqvist calls them myukles. Petson always has a couple of mues in his pocket. On occasion, they can give the right advice or sing something funny. The most ordinary items in Petson's house look completely unusual: he has a lot of little things and gizmos lying around in his kitchen, colorful socks are drying on a rope, all sorts of pots and mugs are on the stove, and funny pictures with cows hang on the walls.

Among the favorite books are several stories about Pettson and his kitten Findus and Christmas.

"Christmas at Pettson's House". Petson and his kitten Findus are in a hurry to clean up the house, because Christmas is coming soon, they have almost done everything, it remains only to decorate the Christmas tree and prepare a festive dinner. And suddenly something bad happened. Petson slipped and injured his leg. Now he will not be able to go to the forest for a Christmas tree and to the store to buy treats. Petson and Findus no longer hoped to celebrate Christmas merrily, but unexpectedly wonderful guests came to their house ...

In continuation - the New Year's book by S. Nurdqvist "Mechanical Santa Claus". This story is a little different from the rest of the stories about these heroes - both in volume and in the slowness of the narrative, but this story is the most magical, the most New Year's Eve - Old man Petson and Kitten Findus are preparing to celebrate Christmas. “But what is Christmas without Santa Claus?” Thinks Findus. In order not to upset him, Petson decides to design Santa Claus himself. Yes, even such that he talked and moved. But how to make sure that Findus does not notice the substitution?

And also Sven Nurdqvist: "Christmas porridge". This book tells about Christmas in a family of dwarves, where their traditions reign. On New Year's Eve, the hosts must bring them a plate of porridge, otherwise misfortunes will happen. But this year, people have forgotten the ancient customs, and the dwarves must save the day. Funny adventures of a family of tiny men and their incomparable mouse.

"It's Christmas Eve outside. Fluffy white snow lies motionless on the fir trees and rooftops. And the local gnomes are waiting for the owners of the house to present them with a plate of delicious Christmas porridge! But then the unexpected happens…” Publisher: Albus Corvus. White Crow, 2015

Anu Shtoner "Little Santa Claus" A whole series of 4 books by a Finnish writer, all of them are serialized, in addition, they were illustrated by one artist and translated by one translator. But each story stands on its own. Artist Henrika Wilson and illustrations are perhaps the most valuable thing in books about Little Santa Claus. They very "eloquently" complement and reinforce verbal images. It turns out that there are many Santa Clauses in the world. And among them there is a small one. That is, Santa Claus is a child. Or, more precisely, Santa Claus is like a child - with all the feelings and resentments inherent in a child, although outwardly he differs from adults only in size. In all other respects, he is their exact copy - he has the same clothes, boots, and even a beard. But the beard is not as a sign of old age, but as a “mandatory attribute” associated with “snowiness” and symbolizing involvement in winter.

A book that tells that even the smallest (and not only Santa Claus) can do a lot. The main thing is kindness, to believe in yourself and not despair, then you will find your place in life and bring a lot of goodness and happiness.

Everyone gathered there and did not call only him. And Little Santa Claus, forgetting about the cookies, sadly walked out of the village and did not notice how he ended up at the edge of the forest. His forest friends decided to stand up for Little Santa Claus. Arriving in the village, they will find out why they did not call Little Santa Claus. It turns out that the main Santa Claus goes on vacation and leaves Little Santa Claus in his place.

Mauri Kunnas, Tarja Kunnas"Visiting Santa Claus" " Here comes the real autumn. Somewhere the first snow is already falling. And that means Christmas is just around the corner! Maybe you think it's too early to think about it? Good for you! For you, Christmas is just a joyful holiday, but for someone it is not only joy, but also a long, responsible job. That "someone" is, of course, Santa Claus. He lives far to the north, in Lapland, in a small village near Mount Korvatunturi. There is everything that the main organizer of the holiday needs: comfortable housing, workshops, saunas, and even an airfield. Hundreds of Christmas gnomes live here - faithful helpers of Santa Claus. They run the household, herd deer, sort mail, make Christmas presents, and in their free time they go fishing, go mountain hiking, sing songs and have fun at all costs. Dwarf children go to school. Their favorite subject is zoology, and the most important are geography and labor. A real Christmas gnome should know perfectly well where is which country and where is which city. After all, on the eve of Christmas, gnomes help Santa Claus deliver gifts to children around the world!”
