Sunshine day. Solstice is coming soon - one of the most magical days of the year

According to astrologers, the solstice is the most dangerous time of the year. But folk signs say otherwise, revealing to us the magical purpose of this most interesting period.

The unstable energy of the longest day of the year can negatively affect the internal state of people. The time when the Sun literally freezes in the sky is permeated with mystical power. The ancient priests of the Druids were sure of this, who made a horoscope of predictions of human life and events.

Summer Solstice 2017

Moscow time, the summer solstice in 2017 will come on June 21 at 7:24 am. The energy of the Sun will reach its maximum mark, but not only the celestial body will bestow its influence on us. According to astrologers, the impact of other planets that make up the solar system will be much stronger.

Those who are patronized by the Sun will be able to harmonize their character traits, show hidden talents, generate ideas, create and surround with the care of others. But the danger of the longest day awaits people who were born under the care of other patron planets. Solar energy can make adjustments to your plans and daily routine.

The summer solstice is a truly magical day. It is the longest day of the year followed by the shortest night. The powerful energy of this day can be used for your own purposes - to perform ancient rituals, rituals and find out your fate.

The magic of the summer solstice

From time immemorial, the Sun has been endowed with special magical properties. It is not surprising that the solstice began to be celebrated even before our era. At this time, the power of the daylight reaches its limit and has a positive effect on people. It was believed that the day of the summer solstice has the strongest energy that can help fulfill cherished dreams.

The way people used to glorify the Sun has now given traditions to the day of Ivan Kupala, which, before the adoption of Christianity, coincided with the astronomical solstice. But the longest day has not lost its meaning, but on the contrary, today it is filled with ceremonies, rituals and interesting events:

  • any rituals and magical actions are fueled by solar energy and are greatly enhanced;
  • the other world opens its doors, it is possible to communicate with the souls of the dead;
  • astral beings tend to make contact;
  • divination on Tarot cards, runes, coffee grounds give truthful and accurate answers to questions about the near future;
  • love spells, conspiracies and prayers have effective power during the summer solstice;
  • lavender flowers, calendula, fern leaves, willow, mountain ash attract love and perfectly complement many rituals for a happy life;
  • The sun is a secret healer, so any beginning to heal and strengthen the body has an esoterically powerful power;
  • collecting healing herbs on June 21 will help you preserve their beneficial properties, charged with solar energy and powerful force for a long time;
  • on the day of the solstice, you can also put a powerful protection against incoming evil and negativity on yourself and your home.

Ritual for the fulfillment of a wish

On the day of the summer solstice on June 21, you can make wishes. Weave a wreath of wildflowers. In the process, think about your desire, try to experience only positive emotions. Put a wreath on your head. It is a symbol of the Sun, a symbol of all being and life. If you are in nature, then light a fire and donate something to the fire - it can be a piece of clothing, an old wallet, shoes and other personal items.

Throwing your thing into the fire, say: "Paid!". Thus, you paid for the fulfillment of your desire. If you are in the city, you can light a candle and gently set fire to something small from personal items. Be careful with fire. Say the same words. The fire must go out on its own.

Ritual for money

If you want to attract the flow of abundance into your life, on the day of the summer solstice, take all the little things from your wallet and put them under the threshold of the house or in some opening or slot at the front door. It will take quite a bit of time, and you will feel how money begins to appear in your life literally from nowhere.

Ritual for life change

In order to radically change your life, on the night of June 21-22, you need to turn over as many objects in your house as possible. Put cups and glasses upside down, turn shoes over, turn chairs over. Everything that can be put upside down or upside down - turn over and put.

During this ritual, it is important to think that your life is in your hands and from this moment you begin to change it. Then say "House upside down, another life will begin with a new day!". Go to bed. In the morning, as needed, you can return the inverted objects to their usual position.

Rite to create a talisman

On the day of the summer solstice, it was customary to create amulets and talismans. The most famous amulet that was made on this day is the Witch's Ladder. In order to make it, you need to take a flying yellow or gold color and nine beads of any color. Next, you will need to weave the Witch's Ladder.

The scheme of weaving the amulet is very simple - string beads on the ribbon according to the scheme: knot-bead-knot-free piece of tape, knot-bead-knot, etc. Stringing each bead, you need to make one wish, or repeat the same thing. After weaving, the end and beginning of the tape must be secured with knots. This amulet can be hung at the front door or carried with you.

By strengthening your energy, you can avoid the negative influence of the planets on the day of the summer solstice.

We wish you to meet this magical time with pleasure, in a great mood. Let nothing disturb your inner state!

day of the summer sun standing (In the Wiccan tradition)

Astrologically, the Summer Solstice marks the entry of the Sun into the zodiac sign Cancer.
This time the Summer Solstice will take place on June 21 at 09.47 Moscow time.
In these few days before and after we have the longest day of the year, after which the day begins to decrease.
Thus, the Summer Solstice is the highest point in the annual circle of the Sun, when, having reached its peak, the Sun gives us all its strength.

It is good to meet the Summer Solstice in a cozy place near the water. Moreover, it practically coincides with another important holiday - the day of Ivan Kupala. It is necessary to celebrate these holidays very cheerfully, with games, songs, dances, not to deny yourself anything. In ancient times, free sexual relations between young people were allowed on Ivan Kupala. And in the fall, many of these couples played weddings. Also, traditionally, many magical manipulations could be done on these days, which is why these days were considered the day of the Witches.

Ivan Kupala is celebrated on June 24th. And according to the new style - this is July 7 - Witch's Day!
So Ivan Kupala, according to the old style, almost coincides with the Summer Solstice.
It is believed that on Ivan Kupala, water acquires magical powers.
Therefore, it is very important, if possible, to bathe in a river, lake - it will be cleansing. You can also make a supply of water from a well, a key - this water can later be drunk as healing. There are two such days in a year when water acquires special power - these are Ivan Kupala and Epiphany.

But since The Summer Solstice and Ivan Kupala are not only water holidays (Cancer), but also solar holidays (the peak of the Solar Year), then fire also has great power.
In ancient times, it was customary to make fires these days and jump over them - for purification by fire.
You can burn these days all the energy negativity, the evil eye, damage, some old karmic tails.
Jump over the fire with thoughts of what you want to get rid of of what is negative and obsolete. Traditionally, also on Ivan Kupala, people went to the forest and looked for a flowering fern.
Whoever finds it will receive happiness, wealth, treasures can be opened to him.

PROTECTIVE AMULETS
During the summer solstice, protective amulets are traditionally made from various herbs for the home and pets.

ROWAN
In the old days, rowan branches were hung over the entrance to the stable and cowshed, a manger for sheep and goats, and a chicken coop to protect against evil spells that could harm or spoil livestock.
Not everyone keeps horses, sheep, or cattle these days, but anyone with a pet dog, cat, parrot, or even a frog might want to hang a sprig of rowan over their "place" for special magical pet protection or friend.

RUTA
Ruta is a plant that also has protective power.
While rowan protects against evil spells, rue guards against poison and disease (although on its own, if eaten too much, it can be poisonous. Italian witches also sewed sprigs of rue together with pieces of bread, a pinch of salt and a couple of anise seeds into the amulet, using a red thread. At the same time, the following words were pronounced:
"Rue herb, let this amulet
Protect my family from harm."
In our places, rue grows well, although it freezes in winter.
Its medicinal properties (rue induces menstruation by stimulating involuntary smooth muscle contractions) are lost when dried, but can be preserved when frozen. At the same time, the magical properties of rue - protection from poison and disease, evil spells and mischief of fairies - last longer, and for this purpose it is usually collected during the Summer Solstice.

St. John's wort
One of the plants that has become almost synonymous with the summer solstice is St. John's wort.
Its English name, "St. John's Grass," is actually derived from Midsummer Day, a name given by the church to the summer solstice in an attempt to abolish pagan celebrations.
St. John's wort is a solar plant. Its flowers are bright yellow, symbolizing the sun, and in the arrangement of its foliage, the four points of the Sun wheel are visible. Sunny yellow paint is extracted from the plant itself. St. John's wort has the power to bind spirits and is traditionally harvested around the Summer Solstice and hung up for appropriate protection.

VERBENA
The best time to harvest vervain is in the early morning of the Summer Solstice. After you dig up the plant, offer the earth some kind of payment. It can be, for example, coins, shells or even honeycombs. Vervain should be dried separately - leaves, stem and root.

Verbena - "grass of love and lovers." Even if you just wear a few sprigs of dried verbena on your body, you will attract the attention of the opposite sex. If you hang a few sprigs of vervain over your bed, it will guard your sleep, protect you from nightmares. Above the front door - will store your home.

With the help of vervain, you can find new friends. To do this, again, it is enough to carry a small bag of dried grass with you. The vervain talisman will also help you protect yourself from evil rumours, protect you from fraud and lies and stimulate your creativity. If a child wears a bag of dried verbena around his neck, it will help him in his studies, the child will develop faster.

In order to cleanse the room, just sprinkle it with a decoction of vervain. According to the Gauls, if the same operation is done with the dining room on the eve of lunch or dinner, it will be very cheerful.

If you put verbena to bury in the garden or put it under the threshold of a house, the people living in it will never know the need. Verbena oil will help people with creative professions to succeed.

MISTLE
The rite of gathering mistletoe, which, like verbena, was a sacred plant of the Druids, was also performed during the summer solstice.
At this time of the year, there are no berries on it yet, and it is regarded as a protective amulet (during Christmas time, when berries appear on the mistletoe, it becomes a fertility amulet). Mistletoe was the only plant that could kill Balder, the sun god of the Germanic and Scandinavian peoples. In ancient texts, there is an assumption that she has power over life and death. On the day of the summer solstice, at the hour when the sun was at its zenith, and the sun god reached the height of his power, the sacred mistletoe was cut in the oak groves of the Druids. For this, as you know, they used a golden sickle, and the branches of a precious plant fell on a white linen cloth so that its magical power would not go into the ground.

LAVENDER
Lavender is also one of the plants traditionally harvested during the summer solstice; tiny purple buds of her fragrant flowers now rise above the dusty gray foliage.
Lavender is a Mercury plant; its flowers form the basis of many incense and herbal bath compositions. Egypt was not the birthplace of this plant, but there it was grown in abundance in the gardens at the temples, and the ancient Greeks burned lavender as an offering to their gods. Dried lavender flowers are still used today in traditional incense for Summer Solstice rituals.

FERN
There was also a tradition of collecting fern seeds on Midsummer Eve; collected them in order to become invisible. But ferns are not flowering plants, and they do not have seeds. But they have spores, which can also be considered a kind of seeds; they are so tiny that they are not visible to the naked eye. The spores are contained in small capsules arranged in even rows on the underside of the leaves of some fern species. Collected on Midsummer Eve and placed in shoes (without separating them from a fern leaf), they will help you to walk unnoticed if you wish. In addition, the root of a male fern with buds of leaves, dried on a fire of the summer solstice, is the amulet of the "happy hand".

SPELLS AND RITUALS that you can do these days.

FORTUNE ON WREATHS
The girl, who wanted to know if she would get married this year, wove a wreath and let it flow along the river. If the wreath floated away - there will be a marriage, if it was nailed to the shore - do not marry this year, but if it drowned - expect trouble, illness or even death.

LOVE ON ROSA
It is done to cause love longing in the object of your love for you.
On Midsummer Day - June 24, and then - June 26 and 29, you need to collect dew in different dishes before sunrise. Those. you will get three dishes with dew. When the dew is collected, take three drops of dew from each dish with your left hand and smear your face, saying:
“I wash myself with dew - girlish beauty,
I will stab with the stars, I will gird myself with the moon and
I will stand in the day of the Lord before my betrothed,
servant of God (name), whiter than white light,
dearer than human life,
more beautiful than the red sun, dearer than the clear moon.
Let my betrothed-mummers think about me,
and day and night it is torn and going to me.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

FROM INFERTILITY
This night is good for love, but not for special fertility rituals, but just for making love for your own pleasure. Running naked at dawn on the grass wet with dew and splashing your sexual energy through the fields and forests is a good remedy for infertility and a guarantee of strong, healthy offspring in the future.

WITCH STAIRS 1
The Witch's Ladder is a traditional talisman, the best time to create which is the day of the Summer Solstice.
In order to make this amulet, you will need a long yellow or gold ribbon, nine small beads - you can use any tone, including all beads can be of the same color.
The scheme by which the Witch's Ladder is made is extremely simple. Knot-bead-knot, "loose" piece of ribbon, knot-bead-knot, and so on.
Stringing each bead, you can make wishes - different or repeat the same thing. When all nine beads are strung on a ribbon, two more knots should be tied: at the beginning and end of the resulting "ladder".
Then the amulet should be consecrated with water, fire and smoke.
The Witch's Ladder should be hung over the entrance to the dwelling and removed only exactly one year later: on the day of the new Solstice, when it is traditionally burned in a fire lit in honor of Lita.

WITCH'S LADDER 2 To make a witch's ladder, first weave together three threads of different colors, about 90 cm long. The colors depend on the type of magic you want to use. Braiding the threads into a pigtail, cast a spell over it. His words might be.
"Yarn red, black and white,
May your spell work tonight."
Then take nine feathers (all of them can be different or the same, and possibly a combination of several types, depending on the type of magic).
Tie each feather in turn to the cord with a knot, saying these or similar words:
"With this pen and this cord
I bring protection for my home."
After tying all the feathers to the cord, tie the ends together to make a ring. Consecrate it and hang it in your home or wish tree.

LITHA'S WICCA RITUAL
Lita is a Midsummer holiday that falls on the summer solstice.
Before the ceremony, make a small bag and fill it with dry herbs: lavender, verbena or others.
Mentally make a list of your misfortunes, problems, sorrows, regrets and illnesses. Write it on paper and tie it with a red ribbon.
Candle colors: bright yellow, red.
Light candles and incense.
Speak:
“Oh, Great Goddess and God!
All nature is agitated under your energies
And the Earth is washed with warmth and life.
It's time to forget the gone worries and sorrows,
It's time for cleansing.
Oh sparkling sun!
Burn all unnecessary
All the suffering
All sorrows.
With its mighty strength
Purify me!
Purify me!
Purify me!"

Take your list and light it on the red candle. When it lights up, throw it into the cauldron (or other vessel) and say:

“I banish you with the powers of the Goddess and God!
I cast you out by the powers of the Sun, Moon and Stars!
I cast you out with my powers
Earth, Air, Fire and Water!”

Stop for a few minutes, look at your unhappiness turning into nothing. Then say:

“Oh, Beautiful Goddess! Oh beautiful God!
On this night of summer magic
I pray that you fill my life
surprise and joy.
Help me tune in to the energies
flowing in the night singing air!
Thank you."

Feel the natural forces flowing through you, bathing you in spiritual energy.

- the middle of natural summer, this is the longest daylight hours of the year, when the Sun reaches its highest position in the northern hemisphere.

What happens at the time of the summer solstice

For several days before and after this astronomical phenomenon, the Sun practically does not change its declination, at noon it is at the same height, the duration of daylight hours does not change. Hence the name of this day - the solstice.

At mid-latitude, the Sun rises higher every day in spring and early summer, giving us additional daylight hours, and at the time of the summer solstice, its movement is reversed. From the moment of the day of the summer solstice, the celestial body rises lower and lower every day, and so on until the day of the winter solstice, after which it again changes its movement and begins to rise higher.

We can say that after the summer solstice, the days begin to gradually become shorter and the nights longer.

During the summer solstice, the Sun does not set beyond the horizon above a latitude of 66.6 degrees. This phenomenon allows residents of the northern strip of Russia to do without electricity almost around the clock.

How is the summer solstice celebrated?

In many nations of the world, the summer solstice coincides with pagan holidays and is celebrated as the peak of summer. Traditions and customs of celebrating this event have been preserved since pagan times. Today this day is still celebrated in Sweden, Poland, Finland, Russia and other countries. Each country has its own name.

In Rus', this day was celebrated Ivan Kupala Day, which later, with the adoption of Christianity, became the day of John the Baptist. Now Kupala is celebrated from July 6 to 7 in a new style.

In Latvia this day is celebrated Ligo. In Estonia - Janov day, Poland - Sobotki, in Ukraine - Kupailo, in Belarus - Kupala.

In England, on the summer solstice, thousands of people gather at Stonehenge to watch the sunrise and honor ancient Celtic customs.

The summer solstice is rich in folk traditions and customs. It was believed that at this time the solar energy increases, the potential for magical rituals and ceremonies increases. This is one of the most powerful days of the year when you can make yourself happy, program yourself for joy and positive.

The most popular customs and traditions on the day of the summer solstice are burning fires, playing outdoors and ponds, round dances, divination, weaving wreaths, and collecting medicinal herbs.

It is believed that everything in nature was filled with special energy - herbs, trees, earth and water. This is the day when you can gain strength and positive solar energy. Good luck and don't forget to press the buttons and

On April 7, Orthodox Christians celebrate one of the main church holidays. This event was a turning point for the entire Christian...

Defined as the point in time in the Earth's annual rotation around the Sun when the shortest day or night is observed.

There are two solstices in the year - winter and summer. In the northern hemisphere, the winter solstice occurs on December 21 or 22. On these dates, you can observe the shortest day (and the longest night). The summer solstice falls on June 20 or 21. At this point, the shortest night (and the longest day) is observed. In the southern hemisphere, the above dates are, respectively, the summer and winter solstices.

If we talk about middle latitudes, then it should be noted that there, throughout the year in spring and early summer, the Sun will rise higher and higher above the horizon. The summer solstice stops and reverses the movement.

Then the Sun will rise lower every day and eventually, at the time of the winter solstice, it will again reverse its movement and begin to rise.

Since the movement of the Earth does not occur in the same way, the solstice epochs can fluctuate by 1-2 days. In the summer, the Sun has more northern declination, so the summer solstice occurs around June 21st. This day marks the beginning of summer. The sun enters the sign of Cancer. In winter, at the greatest declination of the Sun, the winter solstice occurs around December 22. This day is considered the beginning of winter. The sun enters the sign of Capricorn.

During several days of the flowing solstice, the Sun practically does not change its declination, the midday heights in the sky remain unchanged. Hence the name solstice!

Pagan Sun

The ancient Slavs respected the sun and revered the days when the solstice occurred. These four holidays (two solstices and two equinoxes - Kolyada, Velikden, Kupala and Tausen) were considered among the Slavs as starting points for farming, construction, and other vital matters for society.
