How to care for your facial skin after a chemical peel. What and when to smear your face after peeling How long does it take for the skin to recover after chemical peeling?

The exfoliation procedure involves the removal of keratinized cells, affecting different dermal levels. As a result of superficial peeling, it is possible to whiten pigmentation and refresh the skin. Median - starts renewal processes, stimulates collagen synthesis, improves lymphatic drainage functions. Deep peeling is comparable to the effect of plastic surgery; it helps smooth out wrinkles of varying degrees, get rid of deep scars, and smooth out bumpy relief. To achieve the desired aesthetic goals, it is necessary to follow the rules of rehabilitation. It is important for patients to know what to apply to their face after peeling to quickly restore the skin.

The procedure is performed by a cosmetologist in an aesthetic medicine salon or clinic. We use professional products that allow us to solve a whole range of problems. The composition is selected individually, depending on the needs of the skin. After peeling, the following phenomena are observed:

  • the degree of peeling depends on the composition used, after lactic acid, rehabilitation goes unnoticed, after glycolic acid, epithelial plates begin to separate on the 3rd day, the process lasts several days;
  • the manifestation of swelling is typical for those with thin, sensitive dermis, often localized in the periorbital region, neck, and décolleté;
  • how long redness will be observed depends on the type of peeling and the depth of its effect, the maximum lasts for several days;
  • pigmentation occurs during medium and deep exfoliation, accompanied by peeling; after completion of the restoration process, the renewed skin has an even, fresh tone;
  • a feeling of tightness is observed due to the formation of a kind of protective film; after healing, a pronounced lifting effect is noted.

During deep exfoliation, the temperature may also increase. During the normal course of recovery, the discomfort symptoms go away on their own, it is important to follow the recommendations of the cosmetologist.

Rules of care during the post-peeling period:

  1. After superficial exposure, do not wash your face for 24 hours. After the middle one, cleansing with warm water is carried out on the 3rd day. During deep exfoliation, contact with water is prohibited for 3–5 days.
  2. Do not rub your face with a towel; excess moisture is removed with cosmetic wipes.
  3. Sulfate-free foams with pH 5 are used for washing.
  4. To restore hydrobalance, you need to drink at least 2 liters of clean water.
  5. After 3–5 days, you can make herbal compresses to soothe the skin.
  6. Regenerating pharmaceutical products are prescribed - Bepanten, Panthenol, Traumeel, you can choose in the form of ointment, spray, gel. They have anti-inflammatory and bactericidal properties.
  7. Moisturizing, nourishing creams and alginate masks are actively used.
  8. Before going outside, you must apply sunscreen with the maximum SPF factor.
  9. You can use makeup after 2 weeks; you cannot introduce new products. It is better to select decorative products together with a cosmetologist. Foundation, powder, concealer should have an anti-comedogenic effect.
  10. Drinking alcohol, salty, spicy food, visiting the sauna, bathhouse, solarium, beach, and gym are prohibited for 2 weeks.

Important! Until complete recovery, you cannot scrub the skin or tear off crusts. To speed up healing, effective creams, ointments, and sprays are used.

Opinion of cosmetologists

Experts share their experience of using various products during the recovery period after peeling.

The cosmetologist writes that he prescribes products from the same series as an exfoliant to patients during the post-peeling period.

The specialist describes post-peeling care, including Traumeel ointment.

You can rejuvenate, refresh and get rid of existing imperfections on the skin on your face by using various peelings. However, such peelings have a strong effect, so in order to get a good effect, you also have to overcome the recovery stage. Care after chemical peels is of particular importance. If mistakes are made in this, the final result may become questionable.

The first days after the procedure

Peeling begins to awaken the internal resources of the skin, but also produces external changes that cannot be called favorable. In general, a chemical peel (TCP) involves burning the epidermis. That is why the first consequences after this procedure may be the following:

  • Redness of the skin.
  • Swelling.
  • A slight burning and itching sensation.
  • Increased peeling and dry skin.

These signs may appear to varying degrees after deep, medium and superficial exposure to the skin. The more the epidermis is injured, the stronger the irritation, dehydration and redness will be. In addition, such consequences will be present longer. After peeling with fruit acids, the redness disappears within 2 hours after the procedure. And subsequent peeling of the skin can last up to 3 days and, as a rule, is not severe.

After a procedure using TCA, facial skin may be red for up to two days. Skin renewal lasts for several days. Medium exposure or use of retinoic acid may result in redness of the skin for up to 5 days, as well as peeling of the skin for up to 1 week or slightly more. If deep peeling was used, then dry film comes off in 2 to 3 weeks.

However, you should not be afraid of all these symptoms, since this reaction is completely normal. To make the skin recovery period easier, it is necessary to follow proper facial care after chemical peeling.

Possible serious complications

The skin after chemical peeling remains very vulnerable and susceptible to adverse external influences for some time. This is why the risk of complications may increase, including the following:

  • Persistent redness. This problem is considered quite serious, which may also indicate an allergy or individual intolerance to acid. Most often, this reaction occurs in those patients who have skin vessels close to them or have a tendency to rosacea.
  • Allergic reaction. Intolerance to acids used during the procedure is quite rare, but care products can cause this problem. In this case, the skin begins to become covered with rashes, which is also often accompanied by itching.
  • Skin hypopigmentation. If the exposure was excessive, then many melanocytes begin to die. For this reason, spots appear on the face, which are difficult to correct.
  • Hyperpigmentation. The main reason for the formation of dark spots on the face is exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
  • Exacerbation of acne. One of the possible reactions to a chemical procedure may be the activation of the sebaceous glands.
  • Herpes. This disease occurs or worsens due to decreased immunity, which most often occurs during the post-peeling period. If the virus has been in the body before, it is recommended to take preventive measures before chemical peeling.

How to prevent unpleasant consequences

Post-peeling care may vary depending on the intensity of the procedure. Usually, Facial care after peeling consists of several aspects:

  • Effect on the skin from the inside.
  • Using various external products to cleanse and moisturize the skin.
  • Some prohibitions.
  • Elimination of unfavorable external factors.

Skin care after superficial peeling

Even after the lightest exposure, the skin needs care. However, under no circumstances should you touch your face or apply any products or masks to it immediately after this procedure. Only a few hours after peeling can you use wound healing pharmaceutical products. As a rule, by this time the skin is covered with a thin shiny film. It is best to use spray products so that mechanical impact on the skin can be avoided as much as possible when applied by hand.

At the stage when peeling is already behind you, care may include washing with your usual gels. But here one condition must be observed: the gel should not contain abrasive particles that injure the skin, as well as alcohol. It is recommended to use products that contain moisturizing components.

After the hygiene procedure, you need to apply a wound-healing spray to the skin for 20 minutes, after which the face is blotted with a napkin. If you do this procedure 3-4 times a day, the skin will recover faster.

After 5 days, you can apply moisturizing cosmetics. The film on the face quickly disappears, and such products help the skin renew itself faster. But do not try to speed up this process by removing transparent crusts from the face. It is also prohibited:

  • Visit the sauna, pool and swim in open water.
  • Sunbathe on the beach or in the solarium.
  • Exercise intensely.
  • Apply decorative cosmetics to the face, use scrubs and other traumatic procedures.

To avoid exposure to ultraviolet rays on the skin, it is necessary to use protective creams for at least 2 weeks before leaving home.

Rules for care after median exposure

Medium chemical peeling already has a stronger effect on the skin. That is why care after such a procedure should be more thorough. For the first three days, you don’t need to touch your facial skin at all. In order not to injure the skin with intense facial expressions, these days it is also recommended to switch to soft and light foods. When a transparent or sometimes brownish film appears on the skin, you can apply a wound-healing spray. The spray is applied up to 8 times a day for 20 minutes.

From this day on, you can wash your face and apply products with a moisturizing effect. You can also use micellar water or regular gel if it is non-greasy and does not contain alcohol.

Soon the skin will begin to peel off intensely, coming off in large patches. Under no circumstances should they tear off the remaining film; if necessary, it can be cut off with scissors.

For another 2 weeks, it is recommended to use wound healing creams; less often, the procedure is delayed up to 3 weeks - it depends on the condition of the skin. The epidermis can also be moisturized from the inside. To do this, you need to drink as much fluid as possible and take Omega-3. It is also recommended to avoid eating spicy, spicy, too hot and salty foods. In addition, you should not drink alcoholic beverages.

If after 10 days the peeling has already ended, then you can begin facial care using conventional products: moisturizing night and day creams, soft foam cleansers, serums.

As for the prohibitions, they will be the same as after superficial peeling. However It is necessary to adhere to such prohibitions for at least 1 month, and also do not forget about protecting your face from sun rays by using a special cream.

Protection after deep correction

Facial skin care after a deep chemical procedure is more reminiscent of rehabilitation after burns. During the first 3 days after removing the mask, you should never brush your teeth or wash your face. These days, the face is treated with antiseptics. It is also necessary to take antibiotics and painkillers.

After 4 days, as a rule, a more durable dry crust forms on the face, so it can be cleaned with a light foam that does not contain alcohol, coarse particles and acids. After one week, you can apply a wound healing spray or gel. It is used several times a day, blotting the skin 30 minutes after application.

All this time you also cannot:

  • Make active movements.
  • Expose your face to wind, frost and sun. It is recommended not to go outside at all.
  • Use decorative cosmetics and folk remedies. It is worth remembering that folk remedies can provoke an allergic reaction.
  • Scratching, picking, touching your face unnecessarily.

After 3 weeks, you can moisturize your face with normal means. It is also important to use sunscreen if you go outside. This tool should become a constant companion. Under no circumstances should you expose your face to ultraviolet rays.

Normal and possible complications

In addition to following the universal advice of specialists, care after the peeling procedure should be carried out taking into account the individual reactions of the skin to mechanical irritation or acidic substances. The immune response of the epidermis to the stressful effects of cleansers or abrasives can be atypical or normal.

The usual consequences of peelings are predictable and easily correctable, they usually disappear within a week. About such consequences the cosmetologist must warn the patient immediately after the procedure and tell you how to care for your facial skin when they appear. As for unpredictable skin reactions to peeling effects or methods, they are usually classified as complications. The development of side effects may indicate that something went wrong during the procedure or during preparation for peeling. In such cases, skin care should be enhanced and sometimes therapeutic.

Peeling of the skin

This reaction is expected to the peeling effect, the absence of which, on the contrary, may indicate the ineffectiveness of this procedure. As a rule, peeling is observed already on the third day after the procedure. At the same time, a feeling of tightness and increased dryness of the skin appears. You can get rid of this discomfort with the help of preparations based on jojoba and shea butter, hyaluronic acid, and oily grape seed extract. Natural skin care products can soften tissues and allow you to forget about peeling after just a week of use.

Redness or flushing

Hyperemia is a consequence of deep and medium facial peels. With a medium peel, the redness on the face gradually weakens over the course of a week, and in the first case, recovery will take up to 3 weeks. The main principle of care is the absence of factors that provoke blood flow. These factors include training in the gym, increased physical activity, stress, consumption of strong drinks, pickled or spicy foods.

The appearance of swelling and the formation of pimples

Swelling is a normal reaction to chemical peels, especially in patients with very thin skin. You can get rid of puffiness using the following products: promoting rapid healing of the upper layers of the epidermis.

The appearance of inflammatory pimples on the face is caused by improperly selected exfoliation, as well as neglect of the rules of post-peeling care. To get rid of rashes, you can use anti-inflammatory and antiseptic gels and creams.

It is best to ask a specialist about the main rules regarding care after a chemical peel. After all, it is the doctor who knows best the characteristics of his patient’s skin and can suggest the optimal remedies.

Your first medium chemical peel I had it done at the salon about three years ago, and the result was excellent - I haven’t had such smooth, even and radiant skin, perhaps, since childhood. But I got such skin only a week after the procedure, and before that there was an uncomfortable recovery process. Since then, I have designed my post-peeling facial care in such a way that the skin recovers as quickly as possible and does not cause puzzled looks from others.

For those who are interested in salon chemical peels, I will tell you about all the stages and timing of the skin restoration process.

The first day is the day of the peeling procedure.

Depending on the type of peeling and the concentration of acid used, the recovery process will, of course, be different. But I will write about highly concentrated medium peeling, when the skin takes the longest to recover.

The peeling procedure itself in the salon, although unpleasant and sometimes painful, is nothing terrible about it. It only takes about forty minutes, after which you can go straight home. The skin looks good after the procedure - only slightly pink and vulnerable. Therefore, you won’t scare people with your appearance, but during the day be sure to use a sun protection factor with a very high degree of protection.

During the day you should not apply cosmetics and generally it is advisable not to touch your skin.

Second day - the skin is maximally inflamed

In the morning, the skin is still very vulnerable, inflamed, slightly pink and painful to touch. In facial care during this period, the main thing is to use the mildest possible products. I usually wash my face with light cream products, such as aloe vera or Korean. After this, be sure to apply the tonic with blotting movements and use it on top. cream for sensitive skin with almond oil from. I put it in the refrigerator in advance, and when I apply the cream to my face in the morning, I feel an incredible sense of relief.

Since I usually have to go to work after a peeling procedure, I am forced to use foundation. I apply first oil primer for face so that the foundation applies evenly, and on top I cover the skin with a light BB cream with an SPF factor. Previously, I actively used a cream that lays on a thin layer and completely covers the redness. Now I have BB cream from, which unfortunately doesn't work that well.

I apply all foundations only with beauty sponges, since brushes, even the softest ones, cause pain and irritate the skin.

I don’t apply powder, because in the second half of the day the skin begins to tighten and wrinkle, which is why, if there is powder, it looks like an old lady’s.

In the evening, I wash my face again with a mild cleanser, apply Weleda almond cream, and apply facial oil on top of it to retain maximum moisture inside the skin. Oil from Weleda is excellent for these purposes, namely their oil concentrate , as it additionally contains antioxidants.

Third day - the skin is as tight as possible

From the very morning, even without makeup, you feel a strong tightening of the skin, but at this stage it has not yet begun to peel.

The painful sensations, fortunately, disappear by this time, and the skin becomes much less inflamed, but morning care and makeup remain the same.

On this day, the main remedy is ordinary purified water to spray on the skin, such as fresh water from or water from Evian. All day long the feeling of tightness is so strong that you want to constantly wash and moisturize your face. That's why I save myself with this water.

Somewhere after lunch, in the area of active facial expressions (that is, in the area between the eyebrows and the area near the mouth), as well as around the nose, the top layer of skin gradually begins to peel off, but it still does not hang in flakes, but simply looks very dry.

In the evening, small peelings begin to appear all over the face, and the skin around the mouth, in the area between the eyebrows and on the cheeks begins to crack a little. Therefore, in the evening the care will be the same as on the previous day.

The fourth day is the day of active peeling of the skin

For me, this day after a chemical peel is the most unpleasant. If in the morning only minor peeling is visible on the face around the mouth, under the nose, on the cheeks and chin, then after lunch all this begins to hang in flakes.

Therefore, in the morning, care should be the same as before. But if your skin is more or less even in color, then it is better not to apply foundation and simply spray your skin with thermal water during the day.

If you need to apply foundation, take makeup remover wipes with you. During the day, they will be useful to you to wipe off areas where the skin begins to hang in flakes, because in these areas the foundation instantly turns yellow and lies in spots.

In no case should you not peel off flaky skin, as you can touch living skin and develop scars. If the skin hangs too much, you can carefully cut it off with scissors.

In the evening, care is the same as before.

Day five - the beginning of skin restoration

Overnight, the skin has time to naturally exfoliate, after which only micro-flaking remains, which are not particularly noticeable, so you can safely apply foundation. By this time, the skin has completely calmed down, and all irritations have gone away.

Morning care remains the same and, by the way, Weleda cream, due to the presence of beeswax, smoothes out skin flaking very well, so makeup looks much better with it.

In the afternoon I do a light scrub and almost all the peeling disappears.

In the evening, you can proceed to your usual care, but without aggressive ingredients in the form of acids or retinol.

Sixth day - the skin is externally restored

By the morning of the sixth day, the skin looks absolutely perfect, since all the peeling is gone, and along with it the top ball of keratinized cells, which are removed by chemical peeling. The skin is even, smooth and healthy.

In the evening, I usually make a moisturizing and nourishing face mask to restore the skin's moisture balance.

In general, the skin recovers on average 21 days after a salon medium peel, so it needs to be constantly cared for and protected. But visually it takes on a healthy appearance in five days. And although the process seems unpleasant, the result is really worth it.

Do you like salon peelings? How is your recovery period going?

Facial peeling is a very effective and at the same time aggressive procedure that involves removing an entire layer of the epidermis. No matter how high-quality it is and no matter how successfully it ends, no one can predict the consequences. Each skin reacts to such cleansing differently.

To mitigate such a stressful situation, you will need competent post-peeling care, which will provide maximum protection to damaged tissues, help them recover faster and prevent too serious complications.

In many ways, care after peeling will depend on what kind of cleaning was carried out - superficial, medium or deep. It is also necessary to take into account the individual reaction: some consequences of the procedure may be quite expected, while others may become serious complications.

But there are some universal tips that should be followed regardless of these factors. Usually they are given for consultation by cosmetologists.

In the first 12 hours you cannot...

  1. ... wash;
  2. ...touch your face with anything;
  3. ...apply anything to the skin;
  4. …to go out.

In the first 2-3 days...

  1. ...only light, airy foams and gels can be used: the cream is allowed only on the 3rd day after the procedure (it will be great if it contains lanolin);
  2. ...it’s better not to go outside to reduce the aggressive effects of such unfavorable factors as sun, wind, snow, frost, etc.

Within 2 weeks

  1. During the consultation, the cosmetologist should give a list of facial care products after peeling in accordance with the characteristics of your skin type. They usually have protective, moisturizing, tonic and anti-inflammatory properties and contain antioxidants.
  2. You cannot use products that directly apply to the skin: foundations, powders, highlighters, concealers, etc. Lipstick and mascara should not be excluded from makeup.
  3. Don't touch your face with your hands.
  4. If crusts have formed after peeling, they should never be torn off. Regeneration processes take place underneath them, which you can disrupt. They will dry out and fall off on their own over time.
  5. Do not use scrubs.
  6. During this period, you cannot change brands and series of cosmetics.
  7. Use sunscreen when going outside (at any time of the year): hat, dark glasses. You can't sunbathe.
  8. Visiting saunas, baths, swimming pools, and solariums is prohibited. Swimming in the sea and public waters is strictly contraindicated.
  9. Some sources provide advice on using homemade masks. Even if they have an anti-inflammatory effect, there is still a very high risk of infection, so there is no need to tempt fate.

The rehabilitation period is about 2 weeks, so the basic rules will work during this particular time. Although the period may be reduced if the cleaning was superficial and everything went without complications. But since the procedure still involves traumatizing the epidermis, the consequences can rarely be avoided. This is exactly the case when “beauty requires sacrifice.”

Origin of the term. The word “peeling” came to us from the English language, where “peeling” means “to cleanse, remove the crust.”

Consequence-based care

In addition to general recommendations, care after peeling should be carried out taking into account the consequences of such an aggressive and stressful procedure for the epidermis. Some of them are quite expected and predictable. During the consultation, the cosmetologist warns about their appearance and tells how to soften them. Usually, no problems arise other than mild discomfort, and they disappear safely within a week.

Everything is much more serious if the side effects acquire the scale of complications, which themselves will require not only enhanced care, but also full-fledged treatment. So, carefully observe what happens to the skin in the first days after peeling and take the necessary measures accordingly.

How to mitigate natural side effects?

  • Peeling

Natural skin reaction to peeling. Normally it appears on the 2nd day and should completely disappear on the 7th. To speed up the regeneration process and eliminate unpleasant peeling, skin care after facial peeling should be actively moisturizing. The cosmetologist prescribes a drug with hyaluronic acid for this purpose. On the 3rd day, you can add shea or fatty acids to help her. They will reduce the feeling of tightness and prevent scarring from forming.

  • Hyperemia
  • Hyperpigmentation

Peeling is a seasonal procedure. It is recommended to carry out it in late autumn, winter or early spring (March), when ultraviolet activity is not yet so strong. If facial cleansing is done at other times of the year, contrary to these indications, without appropriate preparation of the skin with retinoic and kojic acids, you may subsequently suffer from hyperpigmentation.

If spots do appear, first of all you need to protect your face from the sun and tanning. Care involves avoiding medications containing lemon, bergamot, lavender, cinnamon, orange oils and clover and St. John's wort extracts. In particularly advanced cases, a cosmetologist may prescribe whitening salon procedures.

As you can see, the consequences of facial peeling can be different. So prepare for intensive care in the first 2 weeks after the procedure. If everything is done correctly, in accordance with the reactions that arise and the recommendations of the cosmetologist, the rehabilitation period will be shortened, since tissue healing will proceed much faster. This means that you will see results (beautiful, renewed, elastic skin) earlier. But at the same time, you need to take into account what kind of peeling was carried out.

Through the pages of history. Cosmetologists began to use the first peelings with salicylic acid and resorcinol in Germany at the end of the 19th century. However, they became widely used much later in the USA.

Care depending on the type of cleaning

Competent post-peeling care must take into account the type of cleaning that was carried out. For example, the rehabilitation period for a superficial procedure lasts only 3-5 days and rarely leaves behind side effects.

But with deep, recovery does not always fit within 2 weeks, since the fundamental layers of the dermis are injured. Accordingly, the skin will need much more attention.

Surface

This is the safest type of peeling, which is considered non-traumatic. So, to care for the skin after it, no complex manipulations are required.

  1. The very next day you can use regular cosmetics that suit your skin type, but with an anti-inflammatory or wound-healing effect.
  2. Moisturize your skin as often as possible.
  3. Drink more clean water throughout the day (up to 2 liters).
  4. The basic rule is not to use scrubs and gommages for 2 weeks.

Among the side effects, superficial peeling can cause hyperemia and. Swelling rarely occurs.

Median

Skin care after a medium peel requires more serious measures, since the layers of the epidermis are severely damaged and take a long time to recover.

  1. All products should be soothing and gentle.
  2. Wash your face once a day with water at room temperature.
  3. For any side effects, you need to use pharmaceutical drugs with the permission of a cosmetologist.
  4. Self-medication is strictly prohibited.

After a mid-peel, skin marks may appear on your face, the treatment of which you should discuss with your cosmetologist in advance.

Deep

The skin damage is so serious that some salons leave patients in the hospital for 2-3 days to monitor their condition. This is very convenient, since professional care is a guarantee of faster and better tissue healing.

What to do if you are deprived of the opportunity to constantly be under the supervision of specialists?

  1. Take antibiotics and painkillers as prescribed to reduce the risk of infectious diseases.
  2. Use light foam or milk without acids or alcohol to wash your face.
  3. Some types of deep peeling (Jessner, phenol, TCA) force you to limit the contact of injured skin with water for 2 days.
  4. The most difficult facial care after chemical peeling with phenols, as you will have to use it for the rest of your life. This is a very painful procedure, but one of the most effective.

If you decide to have a facial peel, keep in mind that for a certain time you will not be able to lead your usual lifestyle. Caring for damaged skin involves a sufficient number of prohibitions and contraindications that must not be violated.

You need to understand that such a serious and traumatic procedure, despite all its effectiveness, if the rules of the rehabilitation period are not followed, it can forever leave unpleasant marks in the form of scars on your beautiful face. Therefore, discuss all doubtful points with specialists in advance to avoid complications.

The effectiveness of any peeling depends on three components - preparation for the procedure, the professionalism of the specialist during cleansing and skin care after it.

During the removal of dead skin cells from the surface of the face, the skin is injured.

To restore it, special procedures are required. They are not universal, but are recommended by a specialist individually, taking into account skin type, its sensitivity, level of damage, and possible complications.

We will figure out how to care for your skin after the procedure, what you can and cannot do during the recovery period, what creams to use.

What problems can you encounter after the procedure?

Peeling

This is a normal, expected skin reaction. to remove the stratum corneum of the epidermis. The absence of peeling indicates a poorly performed procedure that will not produce results.

It even cleanses well and tightens pores, which gives a feeling of tightness and dryness. The face may begin to peel on the second or third day after exfoliation.

Redness

The intensity of hyperemia depends on the depth of exposure.

With a superficial procedure, redness lasts no more than 4-6 hours. With a median - from five to seven days.

After deep cleansing, the hyperemia gradually disappears over 3-6 weeks.

Redness appears immediately after exposure. In order not to provoke its intensity, it is recommended to avoid situations that cause a rush of blood to the face - these are:

  • stress;
  • consumption of spicy, pickled foods, alcoholic beverages.
  • Edema

Slight swelling and swelling occurs immediately after the procedure. Most often, this is observed with thin, sensitive skin - this is a normal reaction, about which a good specialist warns the client in advance.

The recovery time for the skin varies from person to person. For some, the swelling goes away within a day, for others it takes a longer period of time.

It all depends on individual characteristics, medications that eliminate tissue swelling and accelerate the healing of damage.

    Pimples

Multiple inflammatory rashes after a cleansing procedure are abnormal. They indicate either an incorrectly selected cleaning method or neglect of post-peeling care.

In some cases (when peeling is performed) the appearance of pimples and acne can be predicted by a cosmetologist; the client is warned about this in advance.

    Allergic rash

A good professional cosmetologist will completely exclude such a side effect, since on the eve of the peeling the specialist conducts an allergy test.

Otherwise, the client’s skin may give such a reaction to any peeling component.

    Pigmentation

Freckles and age spots after peeling can occur in two cases:

    • improper preparation for the procedure;
    • carrying out exfoliation during the solar season.

No special preparation is required for superficial peeling.. For medium and deep treatments, a week before the main procedure, the client independently treats the skin at home daily with a weak concentrate of glycolic acid.

Hard crusts, scar tissue and scars

Medium and deep peeling affects three of the five layers of the dermis. After such procedures, the skin receives a controlled second or third degree burn.

During the recovery period, hard crusts form on it. If you treat them and wait for them to go away on their own, there will be no side effects.

If you try to speed up this process and remove hard crusts yourself, scar tissue and scars will form in their place.

A cosmetologist talks about rehabilitation after peeling:

To get the maximum effect from the procedure, you should patiently adhere to all the recommendations of the cosmetologist and follow his advice.

The first day after cleansing you cannot:

    1. Use soap, foam or gel to wash your face.
    2. Physically influence the surface of the face (massage, comb, even touch)
    3. Apply any cosmetic preparations (cream, lotion, serum, etc.), with the exception of only those preparations recommended by the cosmetologist.
    4. Be in the fresh air. External factors (gusty winds, solar activity, frost) can negatively affect the condition of the skin.
    5. Visit public places - swimming pool, sauna, solarium, gym.

The first three days after the cleansing procedure it is recommended:

    1. After peeling, you must wash your face strictly with special hypoallergenic foams and gels from the post-peeling care series or with acidified water.
    2. Apply caring, special cosmetics (healing cream, Panthenol) to the surface of the face every day, strictly according to the recommendation of a cosmetologist.
    3. Go out into the fresh air strictly when necessary, after lubricating the surface of your face with a sunscreen with a high SPF content (from 35 and above).
    4. Protect your face as much as possible from external factors (frost, wind, precipitation, microdust particles, atmospheric pollution).
    1. Follow all recommendations of a cosmetologist given for the rehabilitation period. They include gentle daily facial skin care and a special diet, if necessary.
    2. Refrain from makeup and the use of decorative cosmetics. This applies to all types of cosmetics that clog pores (powder, blush, foundation, concealer).
    3. Do not touch your face again, especially during the formation of crusts. Under no circumstances should you remove hard crusts from the surface yourself - they should come off on their own. Otherwise, a scar or scar will form in their place.
    4. Avoid all types of scrubbing products, even if they are moisturizing and contain small abrasive substances (even dust).
    5. You should not sunbathe: after peeling, you must completely avoid tanning, both in the open sun and in the solarium. Any, even minimal exposure to sunlight after peeling can cause severe pigmentation.
    6. Refrain from experiments and do not use new brands of cosmetic brands. This will help avoid unwanted allergic reactions.
    7. Avoid swimming in open waters and pools.

In case of complications, after an individual consultation with a cosmetologist, use antihistamines, antibiotics, healing agents, and ointments that relieve itching.

In most cases, facial skin care after peeling is not something complicated or lengthy.

After professional and properly performed cleaning, the epidermis is restored quickly and without side effects.

Just a couple of weeks of special care will provide your facial skin with the expected effect of youth and beauty.
