The project was developed with the goal of awakening interest in literary works in preschool children through the works of G. Tukay. When implementing the project, the following tasks were set: 1) To introduce children to the great poet G. Tukay, 2) To reveal the figurative language of the poet’s poems and fairy tales; 3) To cultivate love, caring attitude and inexhaustible interest in the works of Tukay; 4) To develop in children, through reading works and watching animated films based on the works of Tukay, such character traits as honesty, truthfulness, kindness and responsiveness; 5) Study the traditions of the Tatar people, cultivate love for the Motherland, respect for elders.

Relevance In our modern world, thanks to the means of information and communication, all nations are getting closer to each other. They are learning more and more about the national traditions and culture of both their own and other peoples. One of the brightest representatives of Tatar culture is the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai. April 2015 marks the 129th anniversary of his birth. Over the years, we become more deeply aware of the significance of creativity and the greatness of Tukay’s personality. It is very important that children develop love and respect for the personality of the great poet from a very early age. Gabdulla Tukay is not just a great poet, but a symbol of the history and love of the entire Tatar people. Even today he teaches us and our children to understand this complex world with all its troubles and concerns. Learn to live and scream, laugh and cry, appreciate and cherish the love for your loved ones in the everyday chaos of today's existence. The more emotional, expressive impressions a child receives in childhood, through the works of a poet, the more bright, creative personality, possessing high spiritual and moral qualities he will become in the future. Thus, all this once again emphasizes the importance and necessity of studying the work of Gabdulla Tukay.

To cultivate love, caring attitude and inexhaustible interest in the works of G. Tukay. 4. To develop in children, through reading works and watching animated films based on the works of Tukay, character traits such as honesty, truthfulness, kindness and responsiveness. 5. Study the traditions of the Tatar people, cultivate love for the Motherland, respect for elders.

On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the birth of G. Tukay, the State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan "Republican Children's Library" organized the Republican competition of children's creativity "Fairy tales of G. Tukay - a source of inspiration."

1,713 children and teenagers - readers from 36 municipal districts of the republic and the city of Kazan - took part in the competition.

The Republican Children's Library of the Republic of Tatarstan received 94 works that took 1st place in two age categories (3 – 4 grades; 5 – 6 grades).

Crafts based on the works of G. Tukay are made in different techniques from a wide variety of materials: applique, quilling, beading, knitting, embroidery, modeling from plasticine, clay and puff pastry, burning, sawing, origami, papier-mâché, weaving from paper tubes and etc., of all possible sizes and volumes. Each work gives warmth and a piece of the master’s soul. All the participants’ works are very interesting, original, and sometimes unusual. They are made to a high standard, with great care and imagination. Their production required days, weeks and even months of painstaking, persistent work.

The most popular turned out to be Shurale from the fairy tale of the same name by G. Tukay. It was his image that inspired 29 participants in the competition to create crafts.

25 works are dedicated to the fairy tale “Vodyanaia”.

The fairy tale “The Goat and the Ram” turned out to be no less popular - 17 works.

6 works were devoted to several works, their common theme: “The magical world of fairy tales by G. Tukay.” Here, in one composition, there is a meeting between a horseman and Shurale, and a long-haired Vodyana, and a goat with a ram sitting by the fire, etc.

The poem “Child and Butterfly” also inspired 11 children to create works based on this work.

The following works did not go unnoticed: “To the Portrait” - 1, “Funny Student” - 3, “Pussy is a Mischief” - 1, “Dream of the Earth” - 1, “Tortoise and the Hare” - 1.

The works of the competition participants are presented at the exhibition “Tales of G. Tukay - a source of inspiration” in the Republican Children's Library, where excursions are held daily. By April 26, the birthday of the great poet, over 400 people visited the exhibition. Bright, colorful crafts made using various techniques delight the eye and attract the attention of both young readers and their parents.

Exhibition visitors participate in audience voting.

The jury members had to make a difficult choice, because each craft is unique and inimitable. Therefore, the determination of the best works took place in an atmosphere of heated debate and discussion.

The jury selected 45 Laureates, awarding them Diplomas and subscriptions to the magazine “Girls and Boys. School of Crafts" for the second half of 2016. The remaining participants were awarded Certificates of Encouragement.
