Top 10 toilet water for men. The best men's perfume - rating of the best fragrances according to buyers

As rich and varied as the women's. The importance and power of fragrance should not be underestimated - it completes the image and greatly affects the perception of a person by others. A man should have several perfumes for different occasions. For example, a bright, expressive fragrance would be appropriate for a party, and a strict, classic fragrance for a business meeting. If you swap them, you can noticeably spoil your image.

Therefore, the choice of fragrance - whether for yourself or as a gift - must be approached with particular scrupulousness. To make it easier for you, in this article we will talk about the most popular. The rating is made up of the names of well-known branded fragrances sold around the world, but since each of them is unique in its own way, in no case can one say that No. 1 is unambiguously better, than No. 5. The final choice depends on the preferences of the perfume wearer.

The most popular men's perfume in the world

Ever since it was first released, Acqua Di GIO has become one of the most popular and best selling fragrances for men in the US. Its light, masculine scent is neither harsh nor spicy. This gives him unprecedented versatility and convenience for the wearer, he will be appropriate at any time of the year and day. But this does not mean that it "sounds" simply - you can be sure that even the nose of an inexperienced perfume connoisseur will immediately recognize the noble origin of this harmonious composition of woody, herbaceous and fruity notes. This is the best men's perfume for a casual, relaxed atmosphere - a cup of coffee in a cafe or a walk.

Blue De Chanel

#2 on our list is a fairly traditional woody fragrance with a hint of some exotic notes. Women are very supportive of this smell. If you are looking for the best men's perfume that will instantly make you more seductive without being overbearing, Bleu De Chanel definitely deserves your attention. Although not targeted at any particular age group, since its launch, this perfume has been considered especially successful for young people. As an additional plus, the cologne has an enviable durability and a well-defined train.

As it is quite a rich and warm fragrance, it is best used in cool weather.

For different occasions

In third place is Black - a daring, sensual and seductive fragrance from Gucci. Paired with the women's version in 2010, it's designed for men who love risk and life on the edge. This is a fougere fragrance with pronounced citrus and herbaceous notes that open up with warm patchouli accords and the noble freshness of white cedar. Suitable for any time of the year.

No. 4 - Versace Man Eau Fraiche - A lighter and fresher version of the equally popular Versace Man fragrance. This is a marine fragrance with spicy notes that make it sensual and seductive. It will go well with casual clothes and will show itself best in summer.

Boy in a million

The best men's perfume in the world for a man who is not afraid to become the center of attention, but rather longs for it - this is our # 5 - perfume called 1 Million by Paco Rabanne. The bottle, made in the form of a gold ingot, is a worthy frame for an attractive, bright and sexy scent. This is a woody-spicy fragrance in which the top notes of citrus are smoothly replaced by warm sweet accords of cinnamon, rose, spices, leather, amber and patchouli. A complex, even artsy scent that is popular with women.

You should not wear it in formal settings and during the hot season, as it can become too intrusive.

Another representative of the category of sensual, vintage fragrances is No. 6 - Artisan by John Varvatos. This citrus fougere fragrance comes in a bottle wrapped in handmade vines and, according to customer reviews, has the interesting property of becoming more persistent over time.

Its fresh fragrance is not devoid of grassy sweetness, which gently transitions into warm woody notes with a hint of amber and musk. Like 1 Million, it's better to use it during dates rather than during the day at the office.

Non-standard combinations

7th place - Guess Seductive. This perfume has the word "seductive" in its name for a reason. If you are looking for the best men's perfume with a non-standard pyramid, persistent smell and noticeable sillage, you should pay attention to it. But only if you are not afraid to use such a sexy and attractive fragrance. Cardamom, citrus and unexpectedly give way to floral motifs - violet leaves and orchids, but tart vetiver does not allow them to become too feminine. And the heart of the fragrance is a classic combination of rich seductive notes of musk, patchouli, sandalwood and amber.

But No. 8 - Curve by Liz Claiborne - is a classic, versatile men's fragrance. Fresh, herbaceous, tart, it will be appropriate in any environment all year round.

The same cannot be said for No. 9 - Michael Kors for Men - a rich woody-oriental fragrance with a hint of citrus. But at the same time, the perfume is created so harmoniously that it does not seem intrusive or suffocating. This is a special occasion fragrance that is best worn in autumn and winter.

And closes our top ten Boss no 6 from Hugo Boss. This is also a woody-spicy fragrance, but it has pronounced citrus and floral notes. This is a very persistent perfume, but its sillage is unexpressed, close to the skin, which many men like.

Choosing your own perfume is a very important part of the image of a successful man.

Smell is one of the five human senses. We live in this world among a variety of smells that act on our subconscious.

Aromas can awaken a person's joy, inspiration, cheer up, but they can also plunge into depression and apathy.

Huge amounts of money are invested in the perfume industry every year to create new fragrances. Most investments are extraordinarily profitable, as a person consciously or unconsciously seeks to surround himself with an aura of individuality, which not only evokes positive emotions in him, but is also attractive to the environment, including the opposite sex.

During the Second World War, the trading house of the unsurpassed Coco Chanel profited exclusively from the sale of perfumes and eau de toilette, bottled in small bottles.

The cost of perfume per milliliter was still a decent amount, but this did not stop people.

A little bit of theory

A native of France, Pisse, in the century before last, proposed a very interesting classification of aromas, coordinating them with notes in music.

Perfumery smells since that time are divided into "upper", "middle", and also "lower". They call them "notes".

  • Base or bottom notes- severe, appear last. These are, as a rule, woody smells, as well as leather and musk.
  • TO middle notes include floral scents that are felt 15 minutes after application to the skin of the body. For example, geranium, rosewood, lavender, tobacco.
  • For top notes characterized by lightness and volatility. Thanks to instant evaporation, the smell appears immediately. These include, for example, aromas of citrus, eucalyptus, bergamot.

In order for a perfume to be perfectly balanced, all three fragrance notes must be present.

Classification

According to the percentage of essential oils, perfumery products are divided into:

Perfume

  • This is the most expensive type of perfumery with a high content of aromatic substances of more than 20%.
  • They have a high odor resistance.
  • They are stored even in a sealed bottle for no more than two years, so when buying them, you should definitely check the release date.

Eau de parfum

  • It contains from 15 to 20% aromatic oils.
  • It has a less intense smell compared to perfumes, but the aroma is very persistent.
  • Shelf life, like perfume, up to two years.

Eau de Toilette

  • It is characterized by the content of basic aromatic substances from 10 to 15%.
  • Possesses lightness of a smell and its instability when using.

Colognes for men

  • Contain only 5% or less aromatic oils.
  • The smell is weak, quickly dissipates.

The shelf life of toilet water and cologne is from three to four years, depending on the manufacturer.

How to choose your perfume for a man?

  • The most important thing is to buy products from trusted stores such as Letoile, Rive Gauche, Ile de Beaute, etc.
  • When buying, you should be guided by your feelings.
  • First, the fragrance must be tasted on a paper strip intended for testing.
  • If the aroma evokes positive emotions half an hour after application, then the next time you should sprinkle a little perfume on your wrist from the inside.
  • Again, wait a while, walk around with this smell, feel it.

If, after all these tests, the smell makes you feel good, then you should definitely buy it. He is yours!

Of course, not all men want to approach the choice of perfume so thoroughly. In that case, let your wife or girlfriend do it.

If you are free, then you should ask for help from the girls you like.

Women love to deal with perfumery and will be happy to help you in this important business for creating an image.

Men's perfumes that girls like

By purchasing the right perfume, a man can create a truly magical atmosphere for love dates.

In surveys, it turned out that most young ladies prefer woody spicy aromas, diluted with amber, citrus and tobacco shades of top notes. This, for example The One For Men from Dolce & Gabbana. Girls characterize this fragrance as extremely sexy.

The scents of leather and musk are also very popular. For example, Bulgari Black in which the scents of leather and musk are softened by the sweetness of vanilla and amber.

Unusually attractive girls consider aroma John Varvatos Vintage, thanks to the chic chypre-woody notes, this perfume has extraordinary warmth and masculinity.

Fragrances of well-known brands such as Dior (Fahrenheit, Dune, Homme Intense, Sauvage),

Lankom with his unrivaled Hypnosis

Givenchy with male perfume Gentlemen Only also do not leave women indifferent.

How to use perfume?

  • You need to apply fragrance only on a clean body;
  • Scope - the center of the chest;
  • you can still put a little money on a handkerchief;
  • Perfume water can first be sprayed into the air and then enter this cloud;
  • Use hygiene products (soap, shower gel, etc.) with a neutral smell or the same line as the perfume.

Men's perfume with pheromones

In each person, the endocrine glands produce a smell that is unique to him.

When a man and a woman communicate through this smell, on a subconscious level, information about readiness for sex is read.

This reaction occurs due to the vomer, which is located on the nasal septum near the tip of the nose. Vomer is responsible for the perception of sexual odors that affect the subconscious.

Since ancient times, people have been interested in enhancing their sex appeal. Over time, compounds were discovered that were called pheromones.

Pheromones are volatile substances that enhance a person's attractiveness to the opposite sex. Many essential oils that make up perfume compositions just contribute to the production of pheromones, causing sexual desire in those around the opposite sex.

The action of men's perfumes with pheromones

Conclusion: using perfumes with pheromones, you need to observe ethics, because involuntarily you violate the personal boundaries of another person.

A bit about the laws of perfumery

  • in the first half of the day, smells are perceived more sharply than in the evening and at night;
  • It is not recommended to buy perfumes during or immediately after illness. A distorted sense of smell can play a bad joke on you;
  • in summer it is desirable to use lighter fragrances, preferring eau de toilette to perfume;
  • the aroma tends to move from the bottom up, so men are advised to apply perfume to the center of the chest;
  • when using perfume, you need to protect jewelry from them. Scented oils can irreparably ruin cameos on cufflinks or a tie pin. It is also worth protecting glasses and other optics;
  • smokers should avoid sweet smells. On the other hand, woody, grassy and leathery aromas are perfectly combined with the smell of good tobacco;
  • perfume should be protected from direct sunlight;
  • When using any perfume, remember that it is better to underdo it a little than to overdo it.

Attention! This rating is subjective, is not an advertisement and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

I’ll make a reservation right away - I’m not a big fan of any lists and ratings. To choose from people, books, dogs, cakes or, as it is now, fragrances the most deserving in their category and award them places, I find it more entertaining than obvious. But be that as it may, my “personal” top of the fragrances did not accumulate yesterday, but was thoroughly tested many times, in many places and with many people in the period from 2007 to 2016. I will not venture to guess what was then in the air or in my head. What at that moment my body lacked or, on the contrary, was in excess. But I declare with all responsibility that any man with far-reaching plans for life (or at least for today) needs one of these fragrances. Why I think so categorically, I hasten to tell below.

Amber Sky Ex Nihilo

Left: Amber Sky, Ex Nihilo, an oriental-spicy fragrance with notes of bergamot, coriander, geranium, nutmeg, white cedar, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and tonka bean. Right: "View of Constantinople under moonlight", Ivan Aivazovsky, 1846.

Perfumer Olivier Pechot admitted that when creating the fragrance, there was one picture in front of his eyes - a crazy beautiful sunset over the Bosphorus. When I hear Amber Sky, I also have one picture in front of my eyes. Always long and silent passport control at DXB airport (Dubai). I get a little dizzy from perfume per square meter and I don’t worry at all about a blank page in my passport, although, according to tradition, this is where the immigration police officer will slap a stamp on me. More precisely, the Persian prince, whom I will persistently consider all this short time. Search and not find a single, even a tiny spool on a dazzling white kandoor shirt. Trying to understand what this tourniquet is made of over the scarf on his head. How can the skin be so perfectly dark, why is the edge of his beard so even and why does he have such beautiful hands, if he is clearly not a pianist.

Eau de Cade, L'Occitane

Left: illustration by René Gruau. Right: Woody Eau de Cade, L'Occitane with notes of immortelle, juniper, white cedar and bergamot.

22:30, Le Saint Laurent bar at the intersection of rue Sauce and rue Montalivet in Paris. People poured out into the street, sitting on each other's heads at tiny tables in a row, tarring Galoise cigarettes and drinking ice-cold chardonnay to endless chatter. Our hips are practically desperate to find free and independent space, so I know everything about him, although I don’t really want to: he has a snow-white shirt, a slightly loose tie, a barely noticeable gray hair is silvering in his temples, he smells of wine and indecently sexual aroma. I see that he is constantly on Tinder and it seems that his evening is about to get better. While the waiter runs to him with the bill, I get bolder and still ask what the hell makes him smell so amazing. It's funny, but after that incident I recognized the same aroma three more times and each time only in French! Such an injustice - I'm sure that on Russian skin, somewhere in the evening on the terrace in the Pokrovka area with a decanter of the same chardonnay or something stronger, it will open up even sexier.

Dior Homme, Christian Dior

You can’t even imagine how difficult, and sometimes almost impossible, to release a fragrance that will become a cult of its time. For me, everything that is memorable in perfumery ended by the twentieth century. The new century is marked by the era of endless flankers, heavy niche artillery and a host of other new, wonderful, wonderful and delightful fragrances, which, unfortunately, could not reach the status of "cult". And the point here is not even in numbers, forecasts, sales and the banal classification “like or dislike” - any fragrance can linger on the shelf or be sold out in one day, but not every fragrance can hook, shake, make yourself remember, recognize and reduce with mind. In 2005, when no one expected, it appeared - not at all brutal, classic in its formula, thick from amber and patchouli, thoroughbred from iris, slightly mannered from lavender and sage, mysterious from a pinch of cocoa. Came and stopped the show. I remember how at one point it was coveted by all the men, how it was furtively applied by their women when it was the only one and it was advertised by a man with BDSM tendencies.

I never wore this fragrance on myself, but I always let it dominate me: I still remember that immobilized flight in an uncomfortable chair in the middle only because a handsome man in a Dior Homme cloud was sleeping peacefully nearby, and I tried my best to pretend that I'm reading a book.

French Lover Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

Green-woody fragrance French Lover, Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle with notes of spices, galbanum, incense, angelica, oakmoss vetiver and musk.

A smell with a speaking name, which eventually puts a bandwagon and stuffs a big bump. From the name "French lover" you expect at least a Parisian fop, but you get a sailor overgrown with bristles from some Aquitaine. Instead of body and powder, you get an overdose of needles and pastis, and instead of courtship and dessert from a spoon, prickly and clumsy kisses that turn into rough intercourse. A brutal and terribly beautiful aroma of thrills, which Frederic Mall personally recommended to me in 2007, when the brand was just launched in Russia, and for which I have been looking for a replacement among other brand smells all this time, but have not found it.

Le Sedecteur, M. Micallef

Leather fragrance Le Sedecteur, M. Micallef with notes of bergamot, wormwood, mint, galbanum, rosemary, patchouli, moss, honey, leather and musk.

Actually, here I was going to sing the praises of the Steel Water fragrance, but during our cloudless relationship with him, a terrible thing happened - it was discontinued. He was one of those fragrances in whose company even I fell silent - a fierce opponent of the division of smells for him and for her. He was exclusively and unequivocally masculine, without any “buts” and “ifs”.

As it turned out, this case was not the only one for the M. Micallef brand. The beginning of exercises on the topic of desperate masculinity was laid in 2009 with the fragrance Le Sedecteur. And if Steel Water reminds me of Christian Gray with its tactics of seduction, then the trailblazing fragrance works on the principle of Sir Malcolm Murray - with courtship, wine, the moon, literature and a missionary pose. Is he still capable of accomplishing an erotic feat in our turbulent times? Without a doubt, yes.

Kingdom of Dreams, LM Parfums

Left: Woody Kingdom of Dreams, LM Parfums with notes of black pepper, incense, vetiver, patchouli and cedarwood. Right: painting by Johann Heinrich Fussli "The Awakening of the Queen of the Elves Titania" (1775-1790).

The classic reception of all soap operas - a charming and young holy father meets an equally charming parishioner on his way and ... begins. Thoughts, dreams, visions, confessions. Anything to avoid sin.

According to the laws of the genre, the fragrance Kingdom of Dreams turned out to be holy and sinful at the same time. There is one bright and leading, the most religious note in it - incense - which behaves throughout the entire audible extent extremely revealingly: at first detached, then interested, then anxious, and finally begins to beat in theatrical convulsions from the recognition of its own fall. Laurent Mazzone's incense turned out to be human and lustful, with all the ensuing consequences.

Black Afgano, Nassomato

Woody aroma of Black Afgano, Nassomato with notes of hemp, aromatic resins, coffee, tobacco, oud.

I have never been to Afghanistan, but I know a young man from there. He has a very soft voice, a chiseled nose, huge and for some reason not at all hairy hands, drilling through you through the eyes-cherries and a bag of tobacco mixture in the pocket of oversized trousers. He's always squinting in the sun like a goofy cat, carefully stuffing, rolling, and slobbering tissue paper, smoothing back tar swirls, and telling stories. My favorite is about the Ka Farashi birdcage market in Kabul.

To find it, you need to go to the flooded trills away from the Puli-Khishti mosque. In addition to wooden cages of all shapes and sizes, any feathered living creatures are sold here - from banal chickens, canaries and partridges to green parakeets and falcons specially trained for hunting.

1 Million Prive, Paco Rabanne

Aroma 1 Million Prive with notes of mandarin, cinnamon, hookah tobacco, myrrh, patchouli and tonka bean absolute.

In matters of global perfumery, I am a spoiled and frivolous scoundrel. In matters of sexual perfumery, I am generally a complete cynic. Until some accompanying “hot” story happens (see above), it’s better not to rely on me in such matters, it’s immediately to the consultant in the store, who has this and everything else in the blue eye.

But with one commercially successful fragrance that you always pay attention to as a professional and never as a potential buyer, I broke down. Another funny thing about this story is that it was not the original that hooked me, but the flanker (a subsequent version designed to revive interest in the fragrance), which generally happens extremely rarely, not just for me, but for most users in general. Having agreed with snobbery, I simply approached perfumer Christophe Reynaud at the presentation and told him everything I think about this ingenious masterpiece. After some time, the people to whom I persistently advised 1 Million Privé said that life had somehow improved and sparkled with new colors. And life, if anything, meant sexual.

Oligarch, Roja Dove

The fragrance of Ologarch, Roja Dove with notes of lime, lavender, thyme, jasmine, blackcurrant, mate tea, anise, oakmoss, vanilla and pink pepper.

You can expect anything from a fragrance with such a straightforward name, but not what the perfume prestidigitator did with it.

Let's just say that a very charming, well-read and educated young man came out from under the difficult hand of Roger Dava, who was not spoiled by big money and fleeting connections. Handsome, sexy, generous, affectionate and very attentive uncle turned out - well, just a dream!

Kenzo Homme, Kenzo

Aroma Kenzo Homme, Kenzo with notes of mahogany bark, sage, bergamot, clove, peach, fir balsam and marine accord.

The epochal and nostalgic fragrance of the 90s, which soaked through all my student years with its corrosive spicy-marine smell, has always been firmly associated with the Beverly Hills 90210 series.

At the time when the fans were divided into two camps, I was sure that this was the smell of a badass with a flat as a washboard belly Dylan McKay (actor Luke Perry), and not Brandon Walsh with his puppy eyes, shaggy eyebrows and endless change of flannel shirts.
