For believers, Easter is considered the biggest church holiday. Each housewife sets the table after Lent, trying to decorate it beautifully. In addition to the main dishes, eggs are always put on it. In the old days, they were made only red, because they symbolized the drops of Jesus' blood that dripped along the road to Calvary.

Now the housewives compete in the art of coloring eggs. There are different ways of painting using wax, paraffin, gluing fragments, alternate staining and many others. But it can be very disappointing when so much work is invested in the design of such products, and at the table the guests mercilessly break and eat them.

So that beauty not only decorates the festive table and basket for the church, but also pleases everyone for a long time, we suggest you create Easter eggs with your own hands from satin ribbons. The variety of options leaves room for creative ideas. Color combinations of ribbons and rhinestones, gluing beads and making small details - all this is a matter of your imagination.

Necessary materials

Having entered the sewing accessories store, you can immediately purchase everything you need to make an Easter egg from ribbons. You will need sharp scissors, satin ribbons (choose the width and colors depending on the type of egg), a set of sewing pins with flat heads (like carnations), foam egg blanks, double-sided tape. If you decorate the product with rhinestones or purchased insects, then you will need it. But for craftswomen who love to do needlework, such a tool should always be present. To create ribbon flowers for decoration, you may need a needle and thread and tweezers.

Preparation for work

Before starting any work, you need to think about how the product will look in its final version, whether the colors are combined with each other, how to place additional details decorating the egg. They can be made in advance by making a flower arrangement separately. It remains only to attach it to the Easter egg from ribbons.

If you are working in the artichoke technique, then you first need to cut the ribbons into small pieces of the same length (2-2.5 cm). Leave the longer trimmings to decorate the bottom of the egg with ribbons. It is better to take the length of the ribbons with a margin, so that later the problem of a shortage of a certain color does not arise.

Artichoke technique

The name of this performance is given from the structure of the basket of a well-known vegetable, in which all the leaves are in the form of triangles, looking up with corners. The first step in decorating an Easter egg with ribbons is to close the top. On the foam egg we find a sharp top and cover it with a piece of tape of the desired color, catching the edges with pins. You can use tape.

The next step is to make the first circle of triangles. We take the previously cut pieces of tape 2 cm long and fold them so that we get a sharp corner. We put the triangle with the tip up and pin it with pins on both sides. Thus, we complete the first circle. Make sure that the tops are clearly connected.

Then we retreat down a short distance and lay out the next level. You just need to carefully monitor that the distance between the first and second levels of triangles around the entire perimeter is the same. Then the finished product will look neat.

Variations of products in the "artichoke" technique

An Easter egg with ribbons according to the master class is quite easy to make. It just takes diligence and patience. The variety of eggs made in this way depends only on the density of the rows and the color scheme. Easter eggs made of satin ribbons look interesting, which have a smooth color transition in circles. For example, the top of several layers is white, then light green, then light green, the next emerald and finally dark green.

The next option would be to alternate layers of different colors. They can be contrasting, but they need to be selected with taste. The option looks beautiful when the colors are combined vertically. Then, in the process of work, you need to alternately pin up triangles of different colors.

An Easter egg made of ribbons located at a close distance from each other looks beautiful and neat. The first row can be done by stepping back a little from the edge of the top. You can decorate eggs made using the "artichoke" technique only from below or from above. The top can be made a little differently by sticking a flower made of rhinestones or beads in the central part. A small flower assembled from petals on a thread will also look beautiful. From below, you can decorate with a beautiful bow or make a chain of two colors, assembled by folding two ribbons at a right angle.

Vertical design

The most diverse in the use of additional tools when making an Easter egg with your own hands from ribbons is vertical design. By applying tape from top to bottom, we get a flat and smooth satin surface. It is convenient to attach additional decorations from flowers, twigs to it, showing your imagination and skill in composing flowers from ribbons.

For this type of work, you need to have the following materials:

1. The thinnest satin ribbon, you can take several colors (optional).

2. Double-sided tape or pins with a bead on the end.

3. Glue gun.

4. Ribbons are wide for additional decorations.

5. Needle and thread.

Making the base

To begin with, we take double-sided tape and paste over the top and bottom of the foam egg. Then the tape is taken and the process of neat wrapping around the perimeter of the model begins. The distance between the rows should be the same. The tension of the tape is strong so that it does not move later and the white base does not peek out.

You can use the alternation of vertical rows with ribbons of two colors. To do this, two ribbons are taken at once and the egg is wrapped simultaneously in a circle with two colors located side by side.

You can alternate colors by sectors. But before changing the shade, you will have to glue a layer of adhesive tape for better fastening of the tape. The joints between the sectors can be wrapped with a contrasting tape, it will look original. Each sector can be decorated in different ways.

As you can see, this process is not difficult. The main thing is to pull the tape tight and make the distance between the layers more even.

Combination of techniques

There are product options where there are both vertical stripes and "artichoke" triangles. At the beginning of the design, the entire surface of the egg is covered with vertical stripes from top to bottom, using double-sided tape. The resulting egg is completely covered with the main color.

The next step is to decorate the bottom of the Easter egg with triangles. To do this, take again thin sewing pins (carnations with a thin hat). Artichoke triangles can be made by shifting each next row to the middle of the previous one, then the artichoke basket will look more magnificent.

We decorate the bottom with a bow of the same color. And the smooth upper part of the product can be decorated with additional, separately made flowers. You can stick flowers from pebbles, insert pins with colored beads at the ends. The design of each egg can be made to be different by alternating and adding different colors and shades.

Floral decoration

Easter eggs decorated with ribbons look very nice if they are additionally decorated with a pattern of flowers, beads, gluing rhinestones and pebbles of different sizes. You can make a green twig with leaves, on which to arrange small flowers. Insects glued next to flowers look beautiful. It can be butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs. Flowers can also be made from satin ribbons, or you can use lace.

Ribbons can be either plain or patterned. But when working with decorated ribbons, it is advisable to combine them with plain ones so that the egg does not turn out to be clumsy and tasteless. The main thing in the manufacture of such products is not to overdo it with details. If there are too many additional elements, then the egg will not look aesthetically pleasing. You need to have a sense of proportion in everything.

If you have a lot of ribbon flower making skills in your assortment, then make several different Easter egg options. It is not necessary to attach all the details to one product.

Having created a whole dish of such Easter eggs, you can admire them for a long time, make a gift to relatives or decorate your workplace at work. They are stored for a long time, so you can put them away until the next Easter celebration in a box. By and large, making Easter eggs from satin ribbons, the master class for making which is presented in our review, is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance.

The presented Easter product in the shape of an egg, decorated with beautiful kanzashi flowers, will surely inspire you for new creative experiments. Let's start the holiday master class with a detailed list of necessary accessories. It is imperative to study it, especially for beginner craftswomen, in order to rationally distribute materials. You can exactly repeat the same egg for a festive table decor or as a gift, or change the colors of the base ribbon, flowers and stand. You can complete the accessory, focusing on a detailed master class. A creative lesson does not require much from you, all steps are easy to complete.

To make the same Easter decoration you will need:

  • - for the leaves of the nest, pieces of green satin ribbon measuring 1.2 * 5 cm - 24 pieces;
  • - double-sided red stamens for the stand - 12 pieces;
  • - for flowers, squares of yellow ribbon measuring 2.5 * 2.5 cm - 15 pieces;
  • - for buds, pieces of green satin ribbon measuring 1.2 * 8 cm - 3 pieces;
  • - for the centers of flowers, unilateral red stamens - 9 pieces;
  • - green felt base for a nest with a diameter of 3.5 cm;
  • - decorative wooden egg;
  • - to cover the egg white satin ribbon 0.5 cm.

Easter egg - execution steps

1. Use all the prepared green segments of the rectangular satin to create leaves of an unusual oblong shape. Bend the rectangles along the center, leaving the wrong side of the satin inside. Bevel one side with scissors literally 2-3 mm. Then singe the beveled edge and fasten the hot satin with your fingers. Leave the burnt part in this position, and turn the bottom one forward. Wrap the two corners of the bottom side into the workpiece, forming a sheet of sharp unusual shape. In the center, the sheet should expand, and at the edges it should narrow.

2. Make 24 leaves out of green rectangles. They will be spent on two layers of the base. But you can make more layers if you wish.

3. Cut out a felt circle (preferably green). Glue the first layer of leaves in a circle. They should stand side by side, without gaps. Glue a stamen with red heads on top of each sheet, having previously bent each. The red color will stand out against the background of greenery, so the composition will become elegant. These balls look like ripe berries.

4. Glue the second row of greenery, it is better to offset each leaf in the gap between the first two to get a lush effect.

5. Prepare the central egg. Stick a ball of white satin on it, evenly distributing the turns.

6. Make convex yellow blanks for flower petals from squares. Bend the squares diagonally, fold again, close the sharp ends together and turn the resulting leaves inside out. Focus on the photo. Petals are made according to the method of modeling ordinary single sharp parts.

7. To simulate three bright inflorescences, prepare 5 yellow petals and 3 bunches of red stamens (of three pieces).

8. Also separate the strips of green satin ribbon prepared for the sepals diagonally with a soldering iron. Cut them up and use only one piece.

9. Open the sepal and insert a flower with a red core into it, after gluing the parts in a circle.

10. Three main details for creating an Easter souvenir - a green nest decorated with a ribbon, a wooden egg and three bright flowers.

11. Glue the flowers to the egg for a beautiful arrangement of your own. Instead of intermediate leaves, you can use the rest of the cut green ribbon that remains after sepal separation. Arrange the leaves between the flowers so that the sharp tips show through beautifully.

How to make a souvenir - an egg for Easter

1. The list of materials required for work indicates wooden egg. Such foundations can be bought today at any art store. If you cannot find such a detail, then use a real egg. Poke a very small hole in it so as not to break the integrity of the shell. Let the liquid flow out, then you can rinse the inside with water and use it for work. But the empty shell is very fragile, it will be difficult for an inexperienced person to work with it. Another option is an egg or foam base. In the first case, preliminary work will be required to prepare a model of an egg from paper, in the second, you need to cut out a smooth part from a soft material. Wrap a white satin ribbon on the prepared base with a dense layer.

2. Take the styrofoam cylinder from the roll of tape, the green satin ribbon, and the green felt circle.

3. Wind the tape on the side (select the size in the process, you can cut off the excess), glue the ends, glue the felt circle on top to get a stand for an Easter souvenir.

5. Lubricate the strips of the golden tire with glue. Then, using tweezers, glue along the egg.

6. Glue the egg and base stand, or you can do this at the very end.

7. Prepare red, orange and yellow squares for the bouquet (flower petals will be made from them).

8. Each petal is made according to the traditional modeling technique, only at the end each detail needs to be turned out to get a convex petal.

9. For flowers, you need to prepare 5 petals each, and also collect stamen bushes by flowers.

10. Glue the petals in a circle, inserting three heads of stamens into the center.

11. Bend the green pieces of tape in half, then disconnect diagonally with a soldering iron. Pointed details will become blades of grass.

12. Glue the blades of grass around the circumference of the stand cylinder. Green stamens can be distributed between the green parts.

13. Glue flowers around the circumference - you get a wonderful imitation of a meadow.

14. You can also glue a tire strip at the bottom edge.

A wonderful Easter accessory is ready. It can be placed in the center of the festive table or presented to someone from the family. It is also customary to sanctify food and candles on Easter, a wonderful souvenir can be placed in for decoration and go to church.

Egg in the artichoke technique

A very interesting modern way of making Easter eggs is the Artichoke technique, so named due to the similarity of finished products with the inflorescences of the plant of the same name.

To fasten elements from satin ribbons, you can use needles with small heads (pins):

Or you can plant ribbon elements on glue, such as a glue gun. Consider the option of gluing tapes, which I prepared.

In order to make an Easter egg in this technique you will need:

  • Satin ribbons 25 mm wide, 2 colors, 1 meter each.
  • Styrofoam egg.
  • Glue gun or many thin pins.
  • Scissors.

Decorating the egg starts from the top. To do this, you need a square of satin ribbon, which is fixed at the very top with hot glue.

In the middle, you can attach a half-bead. It is needed not only for beauty, but also in order to navigate when placing modules.

For further work, you will need pieces of tape 5 cm long.

The corners of the segment must be bent to the middle so that a triangle is obtained. You can also fix the structure with a small drop of hot glue.

The triangles of the first row must be glued so that the upper corner is as close as possible to the bead.

Thus, 4 triangles are glued.

Then, stepping back about 0.5 cm, glue the second row.

Modules of a different color are glued starting from the second row between those already glued.

Thus, alternating colors, you need to glue everything to the very end.

The bottom of the egg should also be sealed with a square of tape.

And we make a stand. To do this, the triangles are glued with the reverse side in the opposite direction.

Decorative Easter egg in the artichoke technique is ready. This method is quite easy to learn, and the result is amazing. We wish you creative success!
