Like Prince Harry: the illegitimate son of the Crown Princess of Norway is dating a simple girl. Mette-Marit and Charlene The royal family believes that Marius's chosen one is not worthy of such a level of publicity

And suddenly: “I want to make it completely clear about my private life.” Mette-Marit froze. “To put an end to all rumors and speculation, I confirm that my chosen one was and remains Mette-Marit Høiby. I love her and I am sure that we have a future. Can you hear me, Mette-Marit?

“I hear you,” she squealed and burst into tears.

...Not only Mette-Marit was in shock, but also the royal couple, the country and the whole world: the crown prince proposed to his girlfriend, and gave his father and mother an ultimatum: if he is not allowed to marry for love, he will renounce the succession to the throne and go to America!

In the end, his uncle, the British King Edward VIII, was able to do this, giving up the throne for Wallis Simpson, and, by the way, was happy until the end of his days, growing roses in his garden...

Their Majesties - Harald and Sonja - were speechless. The king did not appear at the next meeting of parliament and canceled the awards ceremony for athletes at his residence. By law, the Crown Prince of Norway has no right to marry without the permission of his father and parliament. Of course, both the king and parliament categorically objected to Mette-Marit.

Mette-Marit had no doubt: their wedding would never happen. However, she was no longer going to give up on her prince! After Haakon closed his eyes to her past, did not reproach her with a word, saying “what has happened is past,” she will hold on to him with teeth and nails and will only let go if her hands are cut off.

Even if she doesn’t understand what she did to deserve his love, she is well aware that in our time there are no such men anymore. It's not that he's a prince! Or exactly this? Even though they are taught in ordinary schools, where all the bastards she saw in her life studied, there is probably still something special about these people, since they are of blue blood...

Haakon admitted to Mette-Marit that he hoped to win his mother over to his side. After all, Sonya Haraldsen is also not of blue blood - her father and Haakon’s grandfather were a textile merchant! What a news! And Sonya looks so majestic, as if at least ten generations of her ancestors sat on the throne! It turns out that young Harald, then the crown prince, saw Sonya at some seaside festival and fell in love at first sight.

Convincing his father was not an easy task - Olav V was a stern man, he went through the war, participated in the Resistance movement in London and tried not to undermine the authority of the Norwegian monarchy in any way. By the way, Olav, like an ordinary Norwegian, rode the tram and stood in line for the ski lift at ski resorts. For Olaf, as for Haakon, the approval of the people was very important. Maybe Mette-Marit forgot - the prince grinned - the kings in Norway after the country gained independence in 1905 were elected by parliament. There is nothing like this in any other country! Accordingly, if the people are dissatisfied with the king, he may be expelled.

Mette-Marit was haunted by the question: how did Harald manage to get his father’s permission to marry Sonja? According to Haakon, Olaf reluctantly agreed and persuaded parliament only because Harald was his only son and there was no one else to transfer the throne to.

And Haakon has a sister, Märtha Louise, and if he abdicates, she will become crown princess.

Vain hopes! Haakon and his princess sister turned out to be birds of a feather: Martha Louise fell in love with the scandalous writer Ari Behn at the wrong time. He wrote some dubious stories, published an odious novel, “The Backyard,” and there were rumors about his connections with prostitutes in Las Vegas. Mette-Marit often visited Martha Louise's apartment with Haakon; her friend seemed to the prince's bride to be quite a nice, witty person. Martha, an airy, fragile creature with nervous long fingers with which she constantly twirled the tight ring, looked at Ari with adoration.

In fact, Martha turned out to have some strange things: for example, she openly stated that she had been seeing angels since childhood and could easily communicate with them. The princess more than once suggested that Mette-Marit talk to her guardian angel through her, but she just shrugged her shoulders:

What will I talk to him about?

At the beginning of October 2000, Mette-Marit Høiby was invited to the royal residence for a family dinner with Haakon. Haakon rejoiced, believing that the ice had broken. But how alarmed Mette-Marit was! A lot of completely insoluble questions arose: how to dress, how to behave? How to contact Harald and Sonja? What to talk about? Thank you, Martha Louise helped: firstly, she very opportunely gave me an amazing dress, made of such thin fabric that Mette-Marit was afraid to accidentally tear it: she was not yet accustomed to expensive things.

There is reason to shake with fear: the fate of the Norwegian monarchy is at stake, and if all its previous life this same monarchy was Mette-Marit down to earth, now it turns out that it plays a key role here.

There is nowhere for an apple to fall in the huge conference room. Mette-Marit sat with her fingers clasped under the table and tried not to look at the humming sea of people in front of her, at all these microphones pointed at her face like the muzzles of pistols, and dozens of cameras.

Run? It’s too late... They’ll probably tear her apart along the way, lynch her. The presenter finally said - casually, inexpressively, which even calmed her down somewhat - that the fiancée of Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway, Mette-Marit Hjossem Høiby, wanted to make a statement to the press.

Mette-Marit nervously straightened her blond hair. Her throat was tight with excitement, and yet in an unfamiliar hoarse voice she said:

I want to apologize to all the Norwegian people for my past.

Although the queen had taught not to stop after the first sentence, so as not to provoke an immediate barrage of questions, Mette-Marit fell silent, feeling unable to continue.

“I repent - I have committed many unforgivable acts,” she finally continued, barely audibly.

I admit that I used drugs, but I blame myself for it.

There was deathly silence. Then journalists will call this incredible press conference historical: for the first time in their lives, representatives of the press took the place of the confessor, and they were flattered by this.

Journalist of the newspaper “Verdens Gang”... - a loud voice reached Mette-Marit’s ears. - Our editors have learned that your ex-boyfriend John Drenge has photographs of you...

Mette-Marit came to her senses. Queen Sonya’s instructions flashed in her mind: “They will blackmail you.

Keep your eyes open and don't give in."

Do you have these photos? - Mette-Marit interrupted the journalist.

No, we do not have these photographs, but Mr. Drenge assured that he would provide them later. He described to us what was on them.

Mette-Marit remembered very well that in one of the photographs John had, she was dancing naked on a table with her head shaved.

“He’s deceiving you,” Mette-Marit said, gathering the last of her composure, and for the first time looked with reddened eyes straight into the crowded hall. - I ask you, people, forgive me and do not judge me for the sins of my youth. I love Prince Haakon and I am sure that I will be a better wife to him, the more mistakes I have made.

Having almost shouted this confused phrase out of excitement, Mette-Marit lowered her head and suddenly heard someone’s hesitant clap, which was supported.

Soon the whole hall applauded her.

...That's how Mette-Marit found herself on the red carpet of Oslo Cathedral, leading her and Haakon straight to the altar. After that historic press conference, 65 percent of Norwegians were in favor of their marriage, and parliament gave in. Just a few steps separated Mette-Marit from the moment when she would become Haakon's legal wife and Crown Princess of Norway.

When the bishop traditionally asked if there was a person among those present who knew that for some reason this marriage could not be concluded, Mette-Marit’s soul sank to her feet.

Of course, now there will be such a person... Surely, now John Drenge, or Morten Borg, or father will appear out of nowhere...

Crown Princess Mette-Marit could not believe her luck when they, leaving the cathedral to the cheers of a thousand-strong crowd of Norwegians, got into a convertible and drove through the elegant streets to the palace. There, the newlyweds traditionally went out onto the royal balcony to greet their subjects. The entire square was filled with noisy people. Suddenly Mette-Marit felt that someone was pulling her dress from below. Yes, it's Marius! Mette-Marit joyfully picked up her 4-year-old son, and photo reporters took a photo: the newlywed crown princess on the royal balcony with an illegitimate child in her arms kissing the newlywed crown prince.

All around, an enthusiastic crowd rejoices and throws up their hats.

Mette-Marit and Haakon Magnus had a daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, in 2004, and a son, Prince Sverre Magnus, in 2005. Haakon adopted Marius Høiby, but according to the law, the monarch’s step-son cannot inherit the throne. The Crown Princess of Norway, Mette-Marit, is now very popular among the people, and the love for her has been compared to the British love for Diana.

P.S.: On July 22, 2011, Mette-Marit Trund Berntsen’s half-brother was among those killed on the island of Utøya. He worked as a security guard and tried to disarm Anders Behring Breivik...

A princess must be perfect in everything. And most importantly externally. All of us, one way or another, can say that the main thing is the inner world, but for some reason, looking through notes about famous people, one way or another, many, very many people have this caustic word rolling off their tongues - “how ugly she is,” “but this mascara doesn’t suit her,” or “ugh, well, she’s dressed up in a dress.” On the other hand, we can talk about the high cost of clothes, “well, it’s too much, you need to be more modest,” or vice versa - about simplicity - “wow, what did she wear, with her money.” But not only the average person likes to bite; the press also bites, knowing that this will bring them ratings.

Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit always got it.

Most recently, at the beginning of February this year, Oslo Fashion Week took place in Oslo. And as part of this event, the Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit was awarded a prize for promoting Norwegian fashion design. Mette-Marit's relationship with Norwegian designers is truly special, as she is, among other things, a patron of the Norwegian Design Council. However, the press immediately remembered her love not for the domestic designer, but specifically for, writing, covering this event, “Ask what the princess’s friend, designer Valentino, thinks about this.” So it was in a dress from Valentino that Princess Mette-Marit appeared in December 2011 at one of the banquets: she was seen in a long dress with a chiffon top from the spring/summer 2011 collection, she also appeared in a white knee-length dress from the fall 2010 collection, also from Valentino. In fact, Princess Mette-Marit was also criticized for her love of expensive designer dresses, because at the concert in Oslo dedicated to the Nobel Prize in December 2011, she appeared in a dress from Emilio Pucci from the fall 2011 collection, the approximate cost of which was 2,597 euros.

The press reproached the Norwegian princess for immodesty, especially during the economic crisis, and gave her the example of Kate Middleton, who usually buys clothes that are more democratic, or the example of the Danish Crown Princess Mary, who, although she wears designer clothes, but exclusively from Danish brands - Malene Birger and DAY Birger et Mikkelsen.

But not only was Princess Mette-Marit criticized for her too luxurious outfits, she was also criticized for the fact that she once went on a plane for one of her visits with her husband and one-year-old child, wearing a simple sweater and jeans. Well, flying on airplanes, especially with a small child in elegant suits, would be out of the question. But the press chose not to pay attention to this, because a princess must always be perfect.

However, the story of Mette-Marit is really the story of Cinderella, and Cinderella, to whom her own subjects initially reacted rather coolly.

Mette-Marit was born on August 19, 1973 in an ordinary family. Her father was a journalist, her mother a bank employee. When Mette-Marit was 11 years old, her parents divorced. Before meeting the heir to the Norwegian throne, Crown Prince Haakon, she worked first as a waitress and then as a saleswoman in a clothing store. She managed to give birth to a son, Marcus, whose father, Morten Borg, she was never married to, and soon they separated completely. Some time later, Morten Borg was arrested on charges of drug trafficking, which would also negatively affect Mette-Marit's reputation after she met the prince. More than once, supposedly her former lovers will appear, eager to find fame in the press.

Mette-Marit met Prince Haakon in 1999 at a music festival that took place in her native Kristiansand. Their wedding took place on August 25, 2001. Today they have two children - the eldest daughter Ingrid, heir to the Norwegian throne, and a son.

Mette-Marit became the second wife of a crown prince of non-blue blood in the history of Norway, the first girl from an ordinary family on the royal throne was the current Queen of Norway, Sonja, and perhaps that is why the royal family itself treated Mette-Marit quite well and tried to help her in everything . After Mette-Marit became hereditary, she studied at the University of Oslo, the Oslo School of Economics, and the University of London. She is actively involved in charity work, supporting not only Norwegian designers, but she is also a special representative of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS.

In one of her interviews, Mette-Marit noted that she learned not to pay attention to what they write and say about her, because “she is she,” and what others write about her is just their speculation, which in no way relate to her.

As for fashion, as you probably already noticed, she loves expensive designer clothes, she also often attends fashion shows. In a 2010 interview with the Norwegian magazine Natt&Dag, Mette-Marit described her attitude towards fashion as follows: “Yes, I try to follow fashion trends.” trends, especially those that are developing here in Norway. I think it's important to support new designers who are working on an industrial scale. But at the same time, I made a conscious choice - I want to be appreciated not only by the way I dress.”

“And if there is one thing that all girls should remember, it is that substance is more important than form. This is especially important in modern society, with its high demands,” says the Crown Princess, who is afraid of flying and always feels clumsy because she trips so often.

The wife of Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon, Mette-Marit, was forced to seek help from doctors several months ago. In November, it became known that Her Highness suffers from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a pathology of the inner ear. The other day, the princess herself decided to talk about her illness.

Mette-Marit gave an interview to representatives of the popular Norwegian radio station P3. In the conversation, the 44-year-old princess admitted: “I thought I was going through early menopause.” But now Her Highness assures that she feels well and even sometimes forgets about her illness.

BPPV is a disease that manifests itself in episodic severe dizziness when the position of the head changes. According to Mette-Marit, the malaise was provoked by fitness training. “We trained hard this fall and I loved it. I have a team of four girls who I work out with via a video app in our living room.”

According to the princess, during training she did not notice that anything was wrong with her. Last week she also did fitness, but now she prefers to avoid certain movements so as not to cause displacement of the so-called otoliths.

“It happened when I was at a meeting with Haakon and my father-in-law and mother-in-law (King Harald and Queen Sonja),” Mette-Marit said. “I turned my head sharply and suddenly the whole world seemed to spin around me.” The princess was unable to continue communicating and was forced to leave the event. “I slept for 4 hours after that,” Her Highness added.

In Norway, BPPV is often called “krystallsyke” (“crystal disease”). According to the accepted theory, dizziness, and in some cases convulsions, are caused by the displacement of otoliths - solid formations on the surface of cells that perceive various mechanical irritations. Attacks of BPPV resolve fairly quickly and usually do not require serious treatment.

Mette-Marit felt great last week. Together with the Crown Prince, she took part in the celebration for St. Lucia at a nursing home in Lørenskog, near Oslo.

Princesses are so romantic!)
What have I always loved about weddings? Exclusively the dress and image of the bride. The rest of the performance - dramatic or tragic-comic - was never particularly interesting) Because this is really a performance and the happiness and well-being of life together does not depend on its quality and pathos.

But creating an image is a whole mystery! And it makes me very happy when it succeeds - it’s nice to look at such a woman, you just admire the splendor and perfection!)

Royal weddings naturally attract increased interest. But the scope does not automatically guarantee an ideal appearance. Only a few are impeccable, as always. I was most impressed by the two brides - Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway and Princess Charlene of Monaco. The difference between these weddings is about ten years. But both newlyweds were stunningly beautiful and harmonious; in both cases, the designers managed to beautifully highlight individual features of appearance and character.
Mette-Marit is a romantic realist, charming and smiling, but at the same time holistic and complex. The geometric, clear top of the dress and the mermaid-like flowing pleated bottom perfectly emphasized the harmony of her contradictory features.
Charlene is purposeful and disciplined, an athlete and a champion, slightly shy and angular, but very subtle and gentle. The dress has masterly beautiful embroidery, an asymmetrical top that successfully plays off the sporty broad shoulders of the South African swimming champion, emphasizing all the muscular strength and splendor without any attempts to hide or “curtain” them, but at the same time forming a fragile and feminine-touching silhouette.. .

The images are fabulous, the princesses are beautiful and perfect as brides!
