DIY paper snowman - various designs. DIY snowman for the New Year - many ideas and crafts master classes

A cheerful three-dimensional snowman made of paper will decorate your Christmas tree during the New Year holidays. This is a craft for children that can be done by kindergarten children of senior or preparatory groups, and, of course, by junior schoolchildren who can make such a snowman on their own, even without the help of adults. If you don’t yet have a single handmade Christmas tree decoration, let’s do it urgently, the New Year is already close!

Master class paper snowman

This is the snowman and this is how he will show off on your Christmas tree :)

To make a three-dimensional snowman, we will need: white paper, pencil, compass, scissors, glue, felt-tip pens, string or thin ribbon, beads.

On a piece of paper, using a compass, draw 2 circles on top of each other, one slightly smaller than the other. You should get the body of a snowman together with his head (the circles are “moulded”), like his silhouette. And we also draw 16 circles of exactly the same diameter as the bottom circle in the snowman’s body. To make your work easier, you can fold a sheet of white paper in half 3 times, draw 2 circles and cut out in this folded form. We will just get 16 circles - 8 for one half of the ball, 8 for the second.

We fold the rope in half and glue it to the silhouette detail. Glue the second part of the silhouette on top so that the rope is inside the snowman. We decorate the ends of the rope with beads. For now, we put this finished part of the snowman aside.

Let's take circles. Fold each circle in half. Glue 2 circles together, placing the halves next to each other. Then glue the next circle in the same way and so on 8 circles. You will get half a ball. Similarly, from the remaining circles we make the second half of the ball.

We glue the first half of the ball to one side of the snowman’s body, turn it over backwards, glue the second half of the ball, we get a round body.

There was a time when in every yard there was a snowman with a carrot for a nose. You can bring back this tradition, but make a paper snowman with your own hands and place it under the tree. A primary school child can make such a snowman only with the help of an adult, but older children can cope with this craft without much difficulty.

To work you will need:

- 4 thick white sheets of landscape format;
- cardboard of any color for the stand;
- colored paper;
- glue;
- scissors;
- scotch;
- thread with a needle.

First, make the base of the future snowman: three circles of different diameters in the form of a frill (or accordion).

To make the largest circle (the bottom one), take a sheet of white paper and fold it in half lengthwise. Cut along the fold.

Fold the resulting long rectangle in half, connecting the sides.

Fold in half again.

And fold it in half one last time.

Expand. You have a wide ribbon with eight sectors.

Now make an accordion, starting to fold the sheet from one edge. Fold the first section in half, turn the sheet over and bend along the already marked fold. Fold the second sector, turn the sheet over again.

When the first accordion is ready, make a second accordion from the second part of the sheet.

Bend each piece in half.

Place them back to back and glue them together, making sure that the last edge of each piece faces the same direction.

Apply glue to the concave side of the accordion and connect it along the fold. Do the same with the second side part. Secure the gluing areas with paper clips and do not remove them until the glue has dried.

Connect the sides of the accordion, making a circle, and secure them with thread and a needle, passing the thread through each edge. Tie a knot. Remove the staples.

To make the middle circle (the snowman's body), take a piece of paper and divide it horizontally into three parts. Cut it.

Set one part aside for now, and use two strips to make an accordion circle in the same way as you made a large circle.

For the third, smallest circle (snowman's head), take the remaining part of the leaf and fold the long side 1 cm.

Cut along the fold. Prepare another similar strip. Make a third circle in the shape of an accordion.

Cut a strip 1.5 cm wide and 26-28 cm long. Place the blanks in the form of a pyramid on the table, starting with a large circle and ending with a small one.

Spread the strip with glue and place it on the blanks, sticky side down, starting from the center of the small circle. Place a book on the craft and wait until the glue dries completely.

Bend the protruding part of the strip at an angle of 90°. To make the snowman stand steadily, you can make another accordion from one remaining part of the sheet and glue it to the strip (as in the photo).

To make a snowman's nose, cut out an orange square, roll it into a narrow ball and glue it together. Measure 5-5.5 cm from the top of the cone and evenly cut off the excess edge of the bag.

Make 4-5 small cuts, coat them with glue and bend them at right angles to the center, making the base of the cone.

Lubricate it with glue and glue it onto a small workpiece exactly in the center, hiding the threads. To ensure that the stand does not interfere with your work, place the snowman on the edge of the table.

When the snowman's nose is well glued, cut out two small circles from white paper. These will be the eyes. You can draw the pupils or make them out of black paper and glue them onto white circles. Lubricate them with glue and glue them on both sides of the nose, but slightly above the middle line of the circle. Cut out the mouth from red paper and glue it too. Make buttons from three identical circles cut out of paper.

Make the snowman a headdress - a “bucket”. Take any colored paper and roll it into a ball with a diameter larger than the snowman’s head. Cut the bottom of the bag enough so that it can stay on your head.

Cut the edge of the cone slightly in an arc at the front so that it does not cover your face. Bend the top of the cone back into a cap and glue it.

Cut a thin strip of the same color and glue it to both sides of the bucket.

Since the bucket is difficult to glue to the accordion circle, put it on the snowman’s head and secure it on the sides with small pieces of tape.

To make a broom, cut two long strips of cardboard, 0.5 mm wide, and glue them together so that they do not bend. Cut a strip of thin paper 12 cm long and 7 cm wide. Fold it in four (twist) and cut one edge in the form of a fringe, 1 cm short of the opposite edge.

Lubricate the entire edge with glue and screw it onto a cardboard strip. Let dry.

To make hands, roll thick black or brown paper into a thin tube and press it flat. Cut into two parts. Bend one piece down and the other up.

Determine the location of the snowman's arms on the body and glue the blanks from the wrong side with tape to the main fastening - a cardboard strip. Glue a broom to one hand. Hide the junction under a mitten (a piece of colored paper). Glue the snowman to the stand, and you can hide the accordion under pieces of cardboard.

It turned out to be such a funny snowman made of paper, and now you can make

There is very little time left until the most important holiday, the New Year. Children always look forward to the New Year holidays the most.

In anticipation of New Year's miracles, obedient girls and boys write a letter to Grandfather Frost and make crafts for the Christmas tree. Most often, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, and, of course, Snowman are always standing under the Christmas tree next to the gifts.

Mystery

They didn't raise him, they made him out of snow

Instead of a nose, they cleverly inserted a carrot,

Eyes are coals, lips are bitches.

Cold big.

Who is he?

(Snowman)

A snowman is a symbol of winter. A snow woman or snowman is a snow sculpture that is created by children in all the courtyards of the country as soon as snow falls. Usually a snowman consists of three parts: the largest snowball is the stomach, a slightly smaller one is the chest, and the third one is the head. Hands are sticks, nose is carrots. It is customary to decorate snowmen with a scarf, sometimes even mittens, which are worn over the sticks. And on New Year's Day, children are accustomed to receiving a chocolate Snowman as a New Year's gift.

Since childhood, everyone knows that the best gift is a gift made with your own hands. And the best decorations for the home and under the Christmas tree are DIY snowmen.

Description of the Master class:

Mystery

They didn't raise him, they made him out of snow

Instead of a nose, they cleverly inserted a carrot,

Eyes are coals, lips are bitches.

Cold big.

Who is he? (Snowman)

For work we need: 1 sheet of white paper, size A 4 (for making the head), 1 sheet of white paper, size A 3- (for making the body - middle lump), 2 sheets of white paper, size A 3 (for making the largest bottom lump), ½ sheet of paper format A 4-2 pcs (for making handles), a square of orange colored paper 8x8 cm (for the carrot nose), a rectangle of red colored paper 4x15 cm (for making a bucket for the head), a strip of blue colored paper 1x18 cm (for a scarf), glue white PVA (for gluing parts), felt-tip pens, fabric napkin.

And also desire, patience, inspiration, imagination and a pair of skillful hands.

The craft making process consists of four main stages.

Stage 1. Preparing paper for making crafts, that is, creasing.

Stage 2. Forming volumetric parts (lumps) from prepared paper. By folding and tucking all corners and sides inward to form a ball.

Stage 3. Represents the assembly of parts, gluing.

Stage 4. Final. Decorating crafts and adding details to create the intended image.

But before you start making crafts, you need to stretch your hands and prepare them for work.

Finger gymnastics

We'll take some snow

We make snowballs in our palms.

(slapping with turning hands)

They threw them together

(we rush)

Our hands warmed up.

Now it's time to create

Sculpt a snow woman.

They rolled along, lump after lump

(stroking the palms of the hands in a circular motion)

They hoisted them one after another

(hands in a fist one by one, alternately)

Third small lump on top

The snow was shaken off my hands later

(shaking hands).

Let's start preparing the paper to make the largest ball, for the snowman. To do this, take a white sheet of A3 paper, crumple it into a ball, then unfold it, smooth it with your palms, returning it to the original shape of the sheet. Next, we crumple the sheet into a ball and squeeze it tightly in a fist with one hand, then with the other hand, unfold it and smooth it out. We repeat this procedure several times so that the sheet becomes soft and pliable.

We prepare the second sheet of A3 format in the same way, since the bottom one is the largest and for its manufacture we will need two sheets of A3 format.

We have prepared the paper, now we need to form a ball out of it. To do this, take a sheet of crumpled paper and begin to tuck all the corners and sides inward. We squeeze it in a fist, thus forming a ball (lump).

And to make the lump more voluminous, we take this ball, place it on a second prepared sheet of paper and wrap it around the ball, tucking the corners and sides in the same way. We form a lump for the bottom largest part of the snowman.

When the bottom lump is ready, you can begin making the second (middle) lump. To do this, take the same A3 sheet, crumple it and form a ball, also tucking the corners and sides inward.

Now we need to form the smallest lump (the snowman's head). We take a sheet of white A4 paper and, similarly to the previous ones, prepare the paper and form a ball.

Now all that remains is to make arms for our snowman. To do this, take ½ sheet of paper and form a ball, then a second one. We get 2 small lumps - the “handles” of the snowman.

From a square of orange colored paper, we form a nose - a carrot, in the shape of a cone.

All the blanks are ready - this is a large bottom lump, a middle lump, a snowman's head, 2 handles and a spout.

Now we move on to the next stage of work, that is, assembling parts and gluing parts.

To do this, take the largest one (the bottom lump) and apply PVA glue to the very center of it, put the middle lump on it and firmly press one lump to the other to better glue it.

Glue the head in the same way.

All that remains is to attach the handles to the snowman; we will glue them to the side of the body on the middle lump.

And today I want to show you many ideas for homemade snowmen. All of them can be made with your own hands from scrap materials. You might even be surprised what opportunities are hidden in ordinary socks and plastic cups.

The main thing is to do all the crafts with the children, this way you will create community in the family and unforgettable memories. Of course, not all crafts will be easy; there are some that will require accuracy and perseverance. But what will be the result!

ABOUT! Now let's do something very interesting! Specifically, let's make a cute snowman out of a sock. This is a very simple craft, even a preschooler can do it. Such a handsome man looks very neat and dignified. Basically, let's find a pair of white, blue or light blue socks with the toes and heels intact. And let's reserve 15 minutes of time.

Before I give you a detailed tutorial, I ask you to find beads or pins for the eyes and nose, buttons, ribbons or other decor. I want the craft to turn out elegant.

And we will make such a handsome man.

Let's take:

  • 1 sock,
  • thermal gun or glue,
  • scissors,
  • pins,
  • buttons,
  • thread.

First of all, cut the sock in half.

We take the part that has two open ends. And we tie the thread on one side. This must be done from the wrong side.

Now we hide the knot inside, turning the sock outward, and pour rice inside.

You can use any large grain - peas, buckwheat, lentils, etc.

Now we need to make sure that the cereal does not spill out of the workpiece. Therefore, we tie the top of the sock tightly.

All that remains is to mark the place where the head will be. To do this, we tighten it with threads.

The preparation already resembles a craft. All we have to do is decorate it and put on a hat.

The cap can be fixed using hot glue. To do this, the second part of the sock needs to be folded up and put on the craft.

There is another very functional idea for a snowman made from a sock. Here it performs both a decorative and useful function.

Let's take:

  • sock,
  • hot glue,
  • bottle,
  • cotton wool or synthetic winterizer,
  • threads, felt for a hat.

It is better to take a glass bottle rather than a plastic one. This way it will be more stable and will not fall under the weight of pencils or flowers.

So, the first thing you need to do is measure the height of the bottle and put it on your toe. All excess must be cut off from it.

Then apply a drop of hot glue from a hot glue gun to the bottom of the bottle and put the sock on the bottle. This is how we fixed the fabric and glass.

Now you need to make the craft soft and voluminous. To do this, place cotton wool or padding polyester in the space between the sock and the walls of the bottle.

We form the head with threads.

Tighten the edge of the sock at the neck. We also do this with threads. Then we designate the nose, eyes and mouth. The child can take markers for this purpose.

From felt we cut out a ring and a strip that is equal to the diameter of the inner part of the ring.

Glue the hat in place.

This craft can act as a pencil holder or a vase. Everything is to your taste.

Another similar master class on creating the popular snowman Olaf. The first scheme I described was taken as a basis.

From such crafts you can create entire compositions.

Beads, ribbons, braid, sequins and even pine cones are used for decoration.

And if you wish, you can sharpen up and move away from the templates.

This beauty will definitely deserve its place of honor under the tree.

How to make a craft from plastic cups, step-by-step instructions

Another popular idea for creating a snowman is from plastic cups. The craft is voluminous and resistant to rain, snow and winds. Therefore, it is often made to decorate the yard, street, or as a decoration for school.

Again, everything is quite simple and clear. However, it takes a lot of time, because you need to process a lot of cups.

Let's take:

  • cups,
  • stapler,
  • cardboard,
  • scotch.

So, you will need more than 200 cups. Stock up in advance. The circumference is up to you. The more you lay out the first circle, the wider the ball will be.

So, we lay out a circle from the cups. Then we use a stapler to fasten each piece to its neighbors.

We make subsequent rows in the same way, but reducing the number of glasses. Don’t forget to connect the rows with a stapler.

You need to make 2 balls. One is more, the other is less.

We connect them together so that the smaller piece is higher - this is the head.

Now we make the nose out of cardboard. To do this, roll it into a cone shape and cover it with tape. If this is an outdoor craft, then you need to completely cover all the cardboard.

We insert the nose into the glass and decorate the snowman with scarves, vests or hats.

But you can also make smaller toys out of cups. All you have to do is turn them upside down and decorate them beautifully.

What do you think of the idea? I think that all this is very simple, however, it greatly inspires me to create such crafts.

DIY snowman for the New Year made of thread and glue

Children will also love the idea of threads and PVA glue. Let's take ordinary balloons as a basis. The technique is quite simple; we have already made crafts based on it before.

Let's take:

  • threads,
  • PVA glue,
  • ball,
  • paper.

We need to inflate the balloon to the size we need. Then we take out threads and PVA glue. It is better to take it in large jars. Now there are two options: You can wrap the threads around the ball, simultaneously coating each row with glue. Or you can use knitting needles to poke a hole in a tube of glue and thread a thread through it. This way it will immediately be saturated with the composition and easily stick to the ball.

Then we leave the ball to dry completely. After 6-12 hours, burst the rubber shell and carefully tear it off the threads. The result is a ball shape! We need at least two of these balls.

Now let's make carrots. To do this, roll the cardboard into a cone and wrap it with cling film. And according to the described scheme we wrap it with orange threads and glue. Dry it, take out the cone and peel off the polyethylene from the threads. All that remains is the decor.

You can combine entire compositions from such crafts.

Original volumetric paper snowman and other ideas

Now let's take paper and think about what can be made from it. And there are a great many ideas at once!

We will do several options. And first of all, I want to show you such a voluminous craft. The entire process of its creation is shown in detail in the photo.

Master class No. 1

You will need two A4 sheets to draw a snowman and a picture of trees. This is applied to different leaves to achieve a volume effect.

Then take two blue sheets of cardboard. One will act as the background, and the other as the front frame.

We also fold six sheets of A4 wide (short side) like an accordion. They will be the frame to which all the sheets are glued.

And now from complex to simple. A couple more master classes in the photo that kids can easily repeat.

Master class No. 2

Master class No. 3

Now the idea is more complex, but no less attractive.

Master class No. 4

You can make such a voluminous snowman using this pattern. The fold is made along the dotted lines. And the part is cut out along straight lines. The edges with “indents” are intended for gluing.

And here is the assembly diagram itself.

I think that all the kids will be delighted by the snowman on the window! There are many stencils and protrusions for cutting.

You can create entire compositions.

Like here, I will attach a template below. It is most convenient to glue such paper figures onto toothpaste or paste. They are then easily washed off with water.

You can make many different pendants and garlands from paper, cardboard and felt.

It is convenient to connect them together with threads, wire or double-sided tape.

That's not all! Now we will find a use for paper towel and toilet paper rolls.

We draw eyes, carrots and mouths on them. Glue on the hats and scarves and enjoy such a quick and cute craft.

If desired, the bushings can be covered with corrugated paper, colored sheets or fabric.

You can also make applications. To do this, take the drawings that I have given below and color them. Or we fill the voids with plasticine and colored sugar. For small children, you can take different cereals.

These are such cute ideas!

Master classes on cotton wool crafts

Our house is full of cotton wool. It somehow ceased to be used for its intended purpose with the advent of cotton pads. But it’s great for New Year’s crafts!

So, let's make a snowman from cotton wool, and below are ideas for creating one from cotton pads.

Let's take:

  • cotton wool,
  • kebab skewer,
  • PVA glue,
  • decor

First of all, we form two balls of different sizes from cotton wool. We simply roll the fiber in our hands.

Now we need to prevent these balls from falling apart. To do this, coat them with PVA glue. And to keep them together, you can use skewers, wire, and a pencil. We stick it between the balls, stringing it. The excess part of the stick needs to be cut off.

What can you make from cotton pads?

Well, of course, a snowman! This is the first thing that comes to mind. After all, the shape of the discs allows you not to bother with cutting out even circles!

Make these hangings for your Christmas tree. They are a great substitute for Christmas tree decorations.

In combination with paper, you can create an entire application.

Did you like cotton wool as a material? Then let's implement such an idea!

Felt, paper and any decor stick perfectly to the discs. To prevent the edges from becoming fluffy, they can be sewn up with a decorative seam.

I think the kids will find something to do!

Crafts made from fabric and felt with patterns

And now, a whole section for needlewomen! We will look at what can be made from felt and fabric. Of course, this will require more time and perseverance than in the previous sections. However, the level of difficulty will be higher.

Master class No. 1. We are sewing a snow tower. I'll give you the pattern.

Master class No. 2. We will sew soft toys. To do this, choose a fleecy soft fabric. White, gray or blue velvet is perfect.

Let's take:

  • velvet,
  • threads,
  • needles,
  • pin.

We take this pattern and transfer it first to a sheet of paper and then to the wrong side of the fabric.

To prevent the pieces from slipping off the fabric, pin them to both sides of the velvet. Trace the patterns and cut out several parts at once.

Now we sew all the blanks from the wrong side, leaving one edge unconnected.

Through it we turn each piece inside out and stuff it with cotton wool or other filler. Sew the edges and attach all the details.

Now let's turn our attention to the felt. We will need different shades of it. Of course, we will choose white as the main color.

Pattern No. 1. These beauties are quick to make. Use the pattern provided. Stuff a little filler inside to give the craft some volume.

You can make both voluminous and flat crafts from fabric and felt.

These flat hangers are very easy to make. The main thing is to sew the edges with a decorative seam.

Another cute idea that is easy to implement. Take two floral patterns of different sizes as a basis. And for the stick you can use a toothpick.

Master class No. 3. Felt snowmen.

More simple ideas for hanging Christmas trees. You can also make New Year's garlands from them.

A composition of different shades of felt can be flat. When parts are glued to each other using hot glue.

More pendant ideas.

Now let's make the well-known snowman Olaf.

Master class No. 7

And for this we need fabric, filler, scissors and a needle.

We take felt or thick white and soft fabric.

  1. We transfer all the patterns onto the fabric, folding it with the right sides inward.
  2. We cut out the parts and sew them together, leaving one edge free. Turn them right side out.
  3. We fill the blanks with filler.
  4. We sew the edges and connect all the parts.
  5. We mark the eyes, mouth and eyebrows.

A detailed diagram is shown in this manual.

This is the first pattern sheet for Olaf and his bride.

Second pattern sheet.

Master class No. 8. Gift bag.

Let's take:

  • fabric or felt in three colors,
  • buttons,
  • scissors.

We will use this pattern.

We transfer it to the fabric. And cut out two parts. Trying on the buttons and details of the nose and mittens.

Sew or glue small pieces to one side of the white fabric.

We connect both sides by folding them right sides inward and sewing them together. Turn the bag inside out. If desired, insert an elastic band or lace at the top.

Our craftswomen have sewn so many beauties. Let's look at another small selection.

And they even depicted the hero of today’s article on the aprons!

For those who like to knit more, I have prepared a separate section.

Crocheted snowman (amigurumi) with pattern

The amigurimi technique is very popular among needlewomen. The simplest elements of crochet are taken there: double crochet and single crochet. This is done to create integrity.

Do you like this toy? Below is a knitting pattern!

For those who do cross stitch, you can use this pattern as a basis.

These snowmen are also made using a simple knitting technique.

Let's give one more detailed diagram for these snowmen.

Flat crafts are made using single crochets. Each row increased by 1-2-3 loops from the center.

Knit with pleasure!

Ideas for crafts from pompoms for kindergarten
