How to make a Snowman from a cut tree with your own hands. Master class with step-by-step photos

Making a snowman yourself is very easy without spending a lot of money.

To do this you will need the following materials:

  • Threads;
  • pearl barley or rice;
  • beads, rhinestones, buttons, ribbon.

Take the sock and cut off the nose part. We put it aside.

Take a large part of the sock (with the heel) and tie one side with thread. You need to tie it tightly so that there is no hole left.

Pour cereal into a sock. It is better to take pearl barley or rice, because they are light and will not show through a white sock. We fall asleep almost to the very end, leaving a little fabric so that you can tie it with thread.

We tie a sock. The result is a white ball or oval.

Place the sock on one of the sides with a tied bun (preferably the one that is thicker). We begin to wrap the filled sock with thread just above the middle. The bottom part should be larger than the top.

Let's start decorating. We tie a ribbon between the balls, which are separated by threads. The ribbon is the snowman's scarf.

We take rhinestones or beads and glue them like eyes, a nose and a mouth. It is better to glue it with adhesive moment.

Liquid glue will not work; it gets absorbed into the sock and the beads fall off.

We take the cut off nose part of the sock and make a bend. We put it on the snowman's head. It turns out to be a hat.

Two beautiful snowmen come out of a pair of socks. They turn out very cute and lift your spirits. They will be a wonderful decoration for the holiday.

Other options for a DIY snowman made from socks

With the help of your skillful hands, another snowman will settle in your house.

Materials and tools:

  • Two foam balls of the same size;
  • thin red felt;
  • green fuzzy wire;
  • foam material, such as foam for the stand;
  • orange polymer clay (plasticine is also possible);
  • red threads;
  • scissors;
  • glue gun;
  • acrylic paints or gouache - red and black;
  • brush;
  • stationery knife.

We take two prepared balls and cut off small segments from them.

We divide one of the cut segments into 4 parts with a knife. We leave the middle ones, from which we will make handles.

From packaging material, polystyrene foam or polystyrene foam, we cut out a circle with a slightly larger diameter than our balls.

Carefully cut a small depression in the middle.

Lubricate with glue and install the first ball with the cut side up.

On the first ball, smearing it with glue, place the second one - cut side down.

Then cut out a rectangle from felt. The larger side of this rectangle should be equal to the circumference of our ball, and the smaller side should be equal to its diameter - this will be the cap. A long strip of felt is a scarf. Mittens - 4 parts.

We glue mittens to the handles.

We grease the felt for the hat with glue and apply it to the head.

We attach the handles.

Lubricate the scarf with glue and wrap it around the neck area.

We make a carrot out of plastic or plasticine and place it in place of the nose.

Use a red thread to tighten the cap, cut the ends of the scarf and the top of the cap.

We twist a Christmas tree from green fleecy wire.

We draw the snowman's eyes, mouth, blush on the cheeks, and buttons. We give a Christmas tree in your hand.
Our craft is ready!

In winter, in snowy weather, children enjoy rolling snowballs and then making large and small snowmen from them. It immediately becomes clear to everyone that the basis of such a craft should be balls of different sizes. If you transfer this object to paper, be sure to show the round parts. They can be easily drawn with a compass. But what to do if the child is still small, he does not know how to handle a compass at all, and this sharp object is dangerous for him.

Another thing is toilet paper tubes. The rolls make quite decent crafts. Naturally, the paper on top is gray, but it can be covered with a white sheet. And you can even not use a gray fragment, but immediately make a thin long cylinder from white cardboard.

Thus, to show a snowman figurine, it is not necessary to cut out 2-3 circles. You can make a white cylinder and add distinctive details - a long carrot nose, skis, a broom. All this develops the child’s imagination and makes it possible to use non-standard materials and techniques to perform unusual crafts.

What to prepare to make a paper snowman:

  • white paper and a roll of toilet paper for the body;
  • orange paper for the spout;
  • yellow and blue paper for headphones;
  • black paper for skis;
  • branches and tape for a broom;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • red and black pens or markers.

Make a white cylinder - the basis of the whole craft. This will be a complete blank for the entire torso of the snowman. Either stick a white sheet onto the gray surface of the roll, or use white cardstock. Cut a strip of cardboard, roll it into a cylinder, and secure it with glue or a stapler. This way, the central part will be single, smooth and even, and not consisting of separate circles.

Make an orange nose in the shape of a cone, it will look like a carrot. Take a circle and make a cut along the radius. Hold with your fingers, twist to get the desired part, glue the ends of the cone. Draw round eyes with pupils on a white roll with a black pen, and a wide mouth with a red pen. Now there is a face on the cylinder.

Lubricate the base of the cone generously with glue. Glue the nose to the face.

Cut out blanks from prepared paper: black skis, a blue stripe and 2 yellow circles for headphones. Gather several short branches into a bundle and wrap the base with tape. The result will be an imitation of a broom, which is usually inserted into the hands of snowmen who are sculpted from snow on the street.

Glue a blue stripe at the top of the cylinder on the sides. Mask the ends of the stripes with yellow circles on top. The headphones are ready.

Glue the broom to the side using tape or a piece of paper. The figurine seems to be holding her in his hands.

Now place the entire structure on the skis. To glue them, use additional pieces of paper or tape.

The little paper snowman is ready. He rushes through the snowdrifts and celebrates the New Year. You can also entrust him with a letter for Santa Claus, which he will definitely deliver to the recipient. In winter we see a snowman in the yard, and we will see another small copy on the shelf after repeating this lesson.

This children's craft in the form of a snowman is completed without much effort, so it is perfect for the youngest children. Everyone knows the sculpting technique, because creating snowmen and snowmen is a favorite activity for all children in winter. There are a lot of snowdrifts outside during the cold season, and one is tempted to go out into the yard, go sledding, and play in the snow. And at home no one forbids you to engage in interesting creativity.

In this lesson we will not only create an interesting figurine, but also decorate it at our own discretion, because plasticine allows you to realize any fantasy. After reading this master class, you will not need to look for new ideas for winter creativity; you will definitely love this kind of work.

To create a plasticine snowman craft, prepare:

  • white plasticine;
  • black, orange, red, blue, brown plasticine, but in small quantities;
  • match and toothpick.

Select a white block from the set. It is exactly what resembles real snow - just as pliable, easily deformed into clumps. But plasticine is not cold at all, it will never melt, it can even be moistened with water. Of course, you won’t be able to play snowballs, but you can do something unusual.

Cut off 2 pieces, leave a little for the limbs (no one forbids making arms and legs for our snowman). Roll 2 balls for the head and body. These two parts will be enough to form the figure.

Stretch your torso slightly. Prepare a match for connection. This small detail will not only hold it together, but also make the figure movable.

Connect the figurine's head and body. Using the head of a match, press the eyes onto the ball-head. Instead of the usual bucket that children can put on the snowman’s head in the yard, make other accessories. Let these be bright headphones.

Make a thin blue strip and glue it onto your head in a half-arc. Glue red cakes on the sides of the strip. These headphones are a winter fashion trend. And they also suit a snowman very well.

Fill the eyes pressed out by the match head with black plasticine. Glue the nose. It can be either a carrot or a wide bright ball. Make a mouth and blush. The cheerful face of the charming snowman is ready, he smiles at us, and therefore we need to immediately move on to further stages.

Glue bright red buttons onto the front part of the body and press them down with the tip of a toothpick. After that, use a toothpick to create a broom. The snowman usually stands at a post in the yard, with a broom inserted into his branch hands.

Glue several brown threads to one end of the stick and press it around the circumference with your fingers. Make oblong arms and legs. It's better if they are small. The main part of the craft is the torso and head.

The snowman turned out to be mischievous and festive, bright and noticeable. Place the broom in his hands and sit him under the small tabletop Christmas tree. The New Year is rushing to visit us, with such a sentry we will not miss the most interesting things, we will definitely prepare for the holiday and have fun.

Nature tirelessly imagines in winter and sends us tens, hundreds, thousands of snowflakes from above. Scientists who have examined them under a microscope say they are all different. Of course, it’s hard for us to believe this, because snowflakes are so small, so delicate, they instantly melt from a light touch or breath.

And we, too, can experiment and create something unique; we don’t even need to look at snowflakes under a microscope for a long time and look for certain distinctive features. We have at our disposal all kinds of materials for creativity: plasticine, paper, threads, felt, beads and much more.

Start with what you understand, the easiest. Children love plasticine very much, and therefore they will gladly agree to make some kind of craft from it, especially if it is.

To create a snowflake like the one suggested here, prepare:

  • plasticine;
  • stack.

How to make an elegant snowflake

The proposed snowflake is creative, not similar to the white and blue crafts that have become traditional for us. Why not use brown color, it is so similar to chocolate, which children love, which will definitely be in gifts on New Year's Eve, on the branches of the Christmas tree, on the festive table.

Is it possible to refuse the sweetest delicacy? However, we can add additional white elements; moreover, we can also time the image on the snowflake for the New Year. For example, it will be a snowman - the middle of a snowflake and fluffy twigs - rays.

Make the body of a snowflake from a brown portion of plasticine. At first it will be a round cake, press it firmly onto a hard surface, smooth it out on top. Also show 6 rays using stacks. Press the cake around the circumference in 6 places. It is enough to make light cuts.

Make a very thin white cake, much smaller in size. Also go around the edge of the stack. Glue it in the center. Add another white cake and join it to the previous piece. This will be the head of the snowman, and first we prepared the body. The figurine consists of two parts.

Place a New Year's hat on your head. It is not difficult to make if you have red and green plasticine on hand. Glue an imitation of a bright cap with a green trim on your head. Add bubo.

Now you need to somehow decorate your craft, make snowflake rays. Glue small pellets along the edge of the body cake, pierce each with a sharp stick. Glue a twig of white thin plasticine threads onto each ray. Make an imitation of spruce needles using a stack.

Glue spruce branches along each ray. The more magnificent the design, the better. Add a bright scarf to the snowman to prevent him from freezing at night, and decorate with buttons. Glue black eyes and a nose in the shape of a carrot. The figure looks elegant and winter-like.

An interesting plasticine snowflake is ready. Using the same scenario, it’s easy to make other crafts that are bright and stand out against the general background; you can depict not only snowmen on them, but also Santa Claus, the Snow Maiden, a Christmas tree, a deer and other holiday images.

Felt craft

In this master class I propose to sew an interesting felt toy for the New Year with your own hands.

To sew a New Year's toy we will need:

  • soft felt (blue or blue, white, a little red for the nose);
  • blue or blue floss threads;
  • two buttons;
  • filling for a snowman (sintepon, holofiber);
  • beads or beads for eyes;
  • lace.

Using a compass, we draw three circles with a diameter of 5 cm, 4 cm and 3 cm. Using these patterns, we cut out two circles, one of which has a small square at the top, in order to make it convenient to sew the circles to each other.

We take two large circles and sew them together, gradually filling them with filler.

We put two more circles on top, which are slightly smaller, and also sew them together, filling them with filler.

We do the same with the third circle.

Cut out a strip of blue felt for a scarf, 1 cm wide and the length of a snowman.

Place the scarf on the snowman and sew a button in the middle of the scarf.

Sew another button between the bottom circles.

You can make small cuts at the edge of the scarf with scissors.

Cut out a small triangle from red felt for the nose and sew it to the face.

Sew on small beads for the eyes.

For the handles, cut out small circles about 1 cm in diameter and sew them on.

Cut out two squares 1 cm by 1 cm for the boots.

We trim the edges of the squares so that we get triangles and sew them to the snowman.

At the top of the snowman we cut a hole with a ripper to thread the string through.

We thread the lace through the hole.

The snowman is ready, all that remains is to hang it on the Christmas tree or give it to someone as a souvenir.

How to make the most original snowmen video lessons

From ordinary threads

From plastic cups and LEDs

What is the symbol of snowy winter? Of course, a snowman! Unfortunately, not all areas of our homeland are lucky with winter precipitation... However, you can give the interior a winter flavor and decorate the Christmas tree by making snowmen from ornamental materials.

We have prepared several interesting master classes for you and your children.

1. Snowman made from a sock.

Here a piece of white children's leggings is used for the body, and a hat and jacket are made from a striped sock. The nose and eyes are made of beads. The ends of a piece of leggings need to be tied and stuffed with synthetic padding or cotton wool, tied with thread to form a body, and then put on our hero.

Another similar option, but here we add cute fabric scarves.

2. DIY snowman made from old hats.

This beauty is made from two old children's hats, stuffed with padding polyester and decorated with large bright buttons.

2. From pompoms

This furry friend is made from two pompoms, which are also easy to make using string. Or you can use pompoms left over from old hats and scarves.

2. Snowman made of wooden buttons.

Your little one will have fun painting large wooden buttons with a felt-tip pen. All that remains is to tie them with threads and put on a hat made from the finger of an old glove.

2. From salt dough.

Amazingly cozy and homey little snowman! By following the link, you can read about New Year's.

2. Crochet

Even little knitters can cope with this task. Two circles knitted with a single crochet, the mouth is made of thread, the eyes are made of buttons.

2. Snowman made of lids.

Even from ordinary bottle caps you can make something interesting. You need to glue a ribbon to the back surface, decorate the hero’s neck with a ribbon and a button, and draw a face with acrylic paints.

2. Snowman candle holder from a jar

Tatyana Bezmenova

Every year in our group before the New Year holiday there is a thematic exhibition of crafts made by parents, children, teachers, and also made jointly, the theme is different each year, we had both Christmas trees and snowmen, and mittens, and just for the New Year theme, this year was no exception, but I decided to turn to an already familiar topic snowmen, make new ones and get out carefully stored ones, some old works (hand doesn’t rise to throw it away). I got all of our snowmen, looked carefully, they all seemed to be quite good, in good condition, and only one snowman, made once upon a time by Vitya Bocharov’s dad from wooden cuts, I was disappointed, I thought, well, what could happen to tree, as it turned out, maybe the circles cracked, cracks formed, which really spoiled the work, and besides, the hat was lost, and our hero’s broom became unusable, and in general the color that was once white, turned gray and faded, I decided all this fix the matter, after all snowman it is very good and compares favorably with all the works, due to some of its strength, thoroughness, so to speak, fundamentality. If we tweak it a little, I decided, then this snowman can please the guys for a long time, and become a real rarity of our group.

I got down to business, I found an old bottle, cut off the neck, wrapped it in foil, and now a new hat is ready for snowman, broke off a twig from the broom, handed it to snowman in a wooden handle, How "new" it turned out, well, I decided to fill the gap with cotton wool, of course I could have covered the entire stand with cotton wool, but in my opinion it would have been lost wood"view", and that’s what I like most about him, that he’s all tree, starting from the stand and ending with the handles. When all the cracks were filled with cotton wool treated with PVA glue, the entire product was painted on top with white acrylic paint. At this point the restoration was completed. Snowman showed off at our exhibition, and then I put it in our corner of nature, because it is from tree serves a good purpose, because it is quite heavy, kids don’t touch it, they just look at it with their eyes (after all, little children strive to take everything they see into toys, but this has a different purpose - to decorate and delight with its appearance)

Dear friends, I think each of you in the group has at least one piece of work that you never want to part with, and many of you, just like me, forge, hem, or repair your favorite craft.

Publications on the topic:

Dear colleagues, thank you very much for sharing your work, you can find so much interesting, unusual material. So I decided.

From the history of the appearance of the snowman.

According to an old legend, at the end of the 15th century, around 1493, the Italian sculptor, architect, poet Michelangelo Buonarroti first sculpted a snow figure. According to historical researchers, the first written mention of a snowman is found in a book of the 18th century. It talks about a “beautiful snowman” of gigantic proportions.
In Europe, snowmen were always made next to houses, generously decorated with garlands and household utensils, wrapped in scarves, and given branchy brooms in their hands. The mystical nature can be discerned in the details of their “robes”. For example, a nose in the shape of a carrot was attached to appease the spirits who sent harvests and fertility. An inverted bucket on the head symbolized prosperity in the house.

In Rus', snowmen have been sculpted since ancient pagan times and were revered as the spirits of winter. They, like Frost, were treated with due respect and asked for help and to reduce the duration of severe frosts. By the way, snow women and the Snow Maiden are our Russian heritage. Our ancestors believed that winter natural phenomena (fog, snow, blizzards) were controlled by female spirits. Therefore, to show them their respect, they sculpted snow women.

In Rus' they believed that little snowmen are angels whom you can trust with your dreams. Since ancient pagan times, in the understanding of the Russian people, snowmen are angels descended from heaven. After all, snow is a gift from heaven. This means that a snowman is like an angel who can convey people’s requests to God. To do this, they sculpted a little snowman from freshly fallen snow and quietly whispered their cherished desire to him. They believed that as soon as the snow figure melted, the wish would immediately be taken to heaven and soon come true.

Today, in our civilized world, creating snow figures remains not only a favorite pastime for children, but also a socially organized holiday. Records are being set all over the world for sculpting the tallest snowmen. The tallest snowman in Europe flaunts on the slopes of a ski resort in Austria, in the city of Galtür: its height has reached 16 meters 70 centimeters.

And the record for creating the tallest snowman in the world was set in the United States of America in 1999, its height is 37 meters 20 centimeters, and its weight is 6 thousand tons of snow.

The tallest snowman in Russia was made in Moscow in 2013. Its height was 9m 40cm.

In addition, in Moscow for several years in a row, the annual Snowman Parade competition has been held at the estate of Father Frost in Kuzminsky Park. Our snow figures may only be as tall as a person, but their number (several dozen) is very impressive!

A small preface to the creation of a “wooden” Snowman.

Dad and I went out into the yard and decided to clear the snow. They took shovels and got to work. The path was cleared. They began to push the snow away from the fence. We see a birch log lying near the fence. White, thin and smooth. Who put it there, when? Nobody remembers anymore. It lay there and didn’t bother anyone. And then dad decided to cut it into firewood. But a thought flashed through my head: “Shouldn’t we make crafts out of it?” I told my dad about my idea. You came up with a great idea, my dad supported me and went to the garage to get a saw. Soon the work began to boil. The whole bag was cut into even, round birch rings. We brought them home, laid them out near the stove, and dried them for three whole days. I touched them with my hands, stroked the rough cut, and I myself imagined various crafts that I would make. After all, in our association we often work with natural materials. When the sections were dry, dad sanded them. I helped by cleaning the cuts with sandpaper. How even and smooth they are now! What a sight for sore eyes!
The next day, I brought the sections to DDT and showed them to my teacher. We briefly discussed the plan for working on the craft and decided to “make” a snowman, only a wooden one.
Snowman, Snowman,
You are like a Borovichok mushroom,
Sturdy and nice
And so elegant!

Step-by-step execution of the craft.

Insert twine into the hole that was made earlier (dad drilled it) and make a loop.

Hot glue the second circle with a loop to the large saw cut.

Add a small cut, the “head” of a snowman.

Glue on the eyes and nose.

Draw a mouth and glue buttons.

Let's make a hat for our Snowman. Cut off a quarter of the viscose napkin. We make a fold and cuts to create a fringe.

Glue the edges and tie the upper part with a thread. The result is such a cute blue hat.

We cut a strip of fabric for the scarf, make a fringe by cutting the edges.

Let's put the cap on the Snowman's head. To ensure that the hat holds well, we will secure it with glue.

We tie a scarf.

The broom is missing. Take a stick and some sponge. We tie the washcloth tightly with a thread and now the broom, the necessary attribute of the Snowman, is ready.

We hand the Snowman a broom.

The Snowman went out into the street and began to sweep away the snow in the yard. It made a whole snowdrift.

New Years is soon. The Christmas tree is already decorated. It’s just sad to celebrate the holiday alone.

There was a knock on the door, and a little Snowman in a blue cap appeared on the threshold. Great! I have a friend now.
