The simplest origami schemes. DIY paper origami

One of the most useful activities for most children of any age is origami paper crafts of varying complexity.

The essence of the game is simple and lies in the fact that you need to look at the diagrams of origami crafts for children, then choose the most suitable one in your opinion, and then fold the paper according to the instructions.

Of course, do-it-yourself origami crafts are far from just ordinary fun, but also real lessons in creativity, which make it possible to actively develop fine motor skills of children’s hands, as well as imagination.

Many parents make new origami crafts with their children, and most of them noted that this game has a huge number of different advantages compared to others.

Why is origami useful?

It will be difficult to list all the advantages of crafts made from modular origami. But the most important thing is that thanks to a game that is quite simple at first glance, the child gradually learns to fold paper, cut it, and also glue it and bend it accordingly.

Most modern games that parents have to buy for their children for development purposes are quite expensive, but paper is a material that is always available in abundance in any home.

Benefits of origami

Firstly, while creating any toys, the child actively develops fine motor skills, because the child learns to carefully monitor the course of his thoughts, as well as consciously create interesting crafts.

Secondly, thanks to origami, the baby’s attention is concentrated on any one object, which teaches him to truly concentrate.

Thirdly, having decided to learn how to make origami crafts with your child, you will thus stimulate his imagination, as well as fantasy.

Fourthly, such a game contributes to the development of the child’s memory, because in order to end up with a figurine, it is necessary to remember the sequence of performing absolutely all actions.

Fifthly, thanks to the creation of crafts, the child learns to work with scissors and other tools that he will encounter at school.

In addition, such a joint hobby allows all family members to unite. If you, from time to time, fold even the easiest origami with your child, gradually, unnoticed by him, moving on to more difficult and interesting patterns, then the child will definitely be properly prepared for classes at school, since he will already have various skills and minimal knowledge in a science such as geometry.

Making a mouse

If you are looking at photos of origami crafts and want to try making a light figure for the first time with your child, then a mouse is an ideal option.

The sequence should be as follows:

  • Bend the white sheet into a square shape from left to right, and then straighten it.
  • In order to end up with a triangle-shaped sheet, you need to carefully bend the sheet from top to bottom.
  • Bend the resulting sheet in a straight line to the left. It is important to be sure to capture approximately 1/3 of 1/2 of the final product. That is, it is necessary to ensure that the edge never reaches the middle.
  • Using a ruler, carefully bend the corner of the sheet to the right. Make sure that the edge on the left always lies along an imaginary vertical axis, roughly drawn in the middle of the sheet.
  • Using a ruler, bend the bottom of the sheet without touching the central triangle.
  • Open the corner of the resulting central triangle and bend it gently back a little to create a fold.
  • On the resulting triangle, all that remains is to draw the eyes, nose and mouth of the mouse with a pencil.

Of course, doing easy origami with children is one of the most exciting games, which, in addition, is also very useful for a child of almost any age.

In addition, thanks to the real variety of different patterns of almost any complexity, even an adult can find an origami craft to suit his taste.

The peculiarity of creating crafts is also that when creating various figures, not only imagination, but also thinking actively develops, which is especially important in the modern world.

Content

Only the uninitiated might think that the art of origami is just child's play. Not everything is so simple: to master this skill, you need considerable patience, a sufficient amount of free time and a supply of paper. By the way, about paper. Oddly enough, office paper is not the best material; special multi-colored paper for origami is required - only in this case the figure will be “correct”.

One of the simplest shapes is a pancake. To make it, you need to bend all the corners of the sheet towards the center. The result is a smaller square. This is your pancake. The scheme is as follows:

The square is the basis for all classic figures. You need to make several folds on a piece of origami paper, then you need to bend the sheet in half twice. Having straightened the paper, you need to make sure that the folds are cross-shaped. The same cross needs to be formed diagonally using bends. Finally, we connect the opposite corners diagonally. After this, our double square can be folded at the folds independently (see diagram).

The pinwheel is a more complex figure that helps you master the ancient art of origami. Children especially love the spinner. First you need to make a pancake, then bends are made, exactly the same as for a square. Next, you need to fold the paper in half, after which each half is also folded in half. It turns out to be something like shutters. If you unfold the paper, you can see the folds in which the form lies. She can be revived right now. You need to pull the opposite ends from the folds to the center of the square. You should end up with a hexagon with four free corners. Opposite corners need to be bent. That's it - the turntable is ready. Detailed diagram with description:

How to make paper origami: swan

Origami is not only an original toy, but also an excellent gift. Despite the apparent difficulty, making origami is not so difficult. The basis of any paper sculpture is a paper module. In principle, the parts that make up the sculpture are held together by themselves due to friction, but for greater strength it is better to glue them together. Ordinary A4 size office paper is perfect for making them. The paper should be medium or thick.

To make any origami figure you will need a large number of parts. They must be prepared in advance. From one A4 sheet you can make 16 modules measuring 53 by 74 mm or 32 modules measuring 37 by 53 mm. They can also be made from square writing blocks by folding them in half.

  • We bend a rectangular sheet measuring 53 by 37 mm in half along the long side. Unbend it to create a fold line.
  • Now we bend the sheet along the short side, do not unbend it.
  • Next, bend it again along the long side, bending the corners inward.
  • Turn the workpiece over.
  • We bend the corners again - there should be a small gap between the upper triangle and the folded corner.
  • Raise the edges up.
  • We fold the triangle and end up with a module that has two pockets and two corners. Now the modules can be connected by inserting the corners of one into the pockets of the other.

How to make origami: swan

To make a swan figurine you will need 1 red, 136 pink, 90 orange, 60 yellow, 78 green, 39 light blue, 36 blue and 19 purple modules. You can also make a white swan - from 1 red and 458 white paper parts.

  1. So let's begin. We take 3 red parts and insert the right corner of one of them into the left pocket of the other, and the left corner of the third into the right corner of the second. This way you will have the beginning of the top and bottom rows, which should close in a circle. Each circle should have 30 modules. The extreme ones must close in a chain.
  2. Next, begin to complement the bottom row with one row, but this time in orange. In turn, this third row needs to be supplemented from below with 2 more rows of orange paper module parts.
  3. Now you can straighten these 5 rows a little by pressing the center inward.
  4. Turn the workpiece over so that the red parts are at the bottom.
  5. Start adding the sixth row (on top of the orange parts) - now with 30 yellow parts of the future swan.
  6. The seventh row will consist of two rows of 12 yellow modules, one gap between which will be 2 modules, and the other - 6 modules.
  7. The following rows will have 1 less piece each time. 8th – 22 green parts, 9th – 20 green, 10th – 18 green, 11th – 16 blue parts, 12th – 14 blue parts.
  8. 13th – 12 blue modules, 14th – 10 blue modules, 15th – 8 blue modules. 16th – 6 purple modules, 17th – 4 purple modules, 18th – 2 purple modules. That's it, the swan's wings are ready, all that remains is to give them a natural look - bend them a little at the edges.
  9. We begin to make the swan's tail in a long gap. The tail consists of five rows, the bottom three 5, 4 and 3 green parts and 2 and 1 blue. That's it, the tail is ready.
  10. We begin to assemble the swan's neck. Attention, the swan's neck is made differently than the rest of the sculpture. In order to make a neck, the parts need to be inserted one into the other - both corners of one need to be inserted into both pockets of the other. The swan's neck consists of 1 red, 7 purple, 6 blue, 6 green, 6 yellow modules. From the very beginning, you should try to give the swan's neck a more graceful shape. That's it, the neck is ready.
  11. It remains to secure the swan’s neck more reliably in the small gap of the 6th row. There should just be a place under the neck.
  12. If desired, the swan can be mounted on a stand consisting of two glued rows of 36 to 40 pieces, fixed like a swan's neck. The swan can also be decorated with eyes and a bow.

Origami is the art of folding all kinds of crafts using paper. In most cases, the activity does not involve the use of glue and scissors. This trend arose in 610, when the secret of paper making came to Japan from China. The monks learned to fold figurines, which decorated temples and were used in rituals. In the Middle Ages, this decorative and applied art became an element of the culture of Japanese aristocrats. If you want to master this hobby, this article contains interesting origami paper patterns.

Origami for beginners

This skill is reminiscent of a magic trick - a beautiful figure is born from a simple leaf in a few minutes. The activity does not require large material costs and is absolutely safe even for small children. Origami allows you to create a whole world without special abilities. This hobby develops spatial imagination, fine motor skills, motor and spatial memory, concentration, communication and gaming abilities, horizons, and creative skills in beginners. The paper diagrams below will help you make original, unusual toys, gifts, and figurines.

What materials will be needed

Before you start doing origami, you should stock up on the necessary set of tools. First, you should choose paper, preferably office paper, since it is not too smooth and is thick enough for folding according to patterns. To attach small parts and gluing, you will need a glue stick or PVA glue, and aerosol glue is necessary if you need to glue two multi-colored sheets of paper. The last technique allows you to create interesting crafts using a combination of textures and colors.

You can use a more convenient adhesive mass, with which any part can be easily attached inside or outside the craft, and then removed if necessary, without leaving any traces. If the craft is made from white paper, then it is then covered with spray paint. Sometimes several pairs of sharp scissors with blades of different shapes and lengths are required. In some cases it is possible to replace them with a cutter. This tool is necessary for trimming and cutting straight lines. The blade must be sharpened to obtain a smooth, neat cut.

To mark according to the diagram when folding figures, cutting out the base, maintaining a certain angle of assembly, and symmetrically placing a composition based on a panel, triangles, rulers, and protractors are needed. You will need a mechanical pencil with a replaceable thin lead. Additionally, needlewomen use ready-made eyes for toys, leftover yarn, ribbons, fabric, beads, seed beads, sequins for decoration, and thread and needle for connecting individual parts.

Paper selection

The result of the work depends on the correct choice of paper, since the entire process of creating origami according to patterns consists of folding and bending. The list below will help you decide which material is better and which is worse suitable for this type of needlework:

  • Office white paper is thick, not too smooth, so the modules hold well when connected. It is better to start practicing origami with such material, since it would be a shame to throw away a damaged model. Its disadvantage is that hairiness appears at the bend.
  • Colored office paper - does not turn white when folded, is dense, and is used in modular origami.
  • Stickers, note paper - can be painted in different colors, used to create kusudama, in modular origami.
  • School colored paper is thin, friable, easily torn, and not suitable for this hobby. It wears off on the folds and white stripes appear.
  • Foil paper is durable, does not tear, is used when creating complex patterns, twisted models, and modules. When straightened, the folds remain in tight stripes.
  • The pages of glossy magazines are dense, bend well, and hold their shape.
  • Banknotes are durable, do not wear out on folds, and are suitable for small modules and making gifts.
  • Special paper for origami - sold in sets, with a variety of patterns, can be double-sided, monotonous.
  • Rice, papyrus, craft, parchment, tissue, mulberry, silk and other expensive types of paper - each type has its own advantages and disadvantages, allowing you to create interesting crafts according to patterns.
  • Drawing graph paper, tracing paper - suitable for first attempts at creating complex works.

Types of origami in pictures

Origami is a great opportunity to keep yourself busy with something interesting, useful, and have fun while developing new skills and abilities. In addition to the classical direction, there are many other alternative techniques:

How to learn to make animals - diagrams for children

Children's pranks and inability to sit in one place are often due to the fact that the baby has nothing to do, and energy needs to be directed in a certain direction. Invite boys and girls to do origami, which will calm them down, captivate them, and make them feel like little wizards working miracles. This is a useful hobby that develops attention, patience, artistic taste, and thinking. Learning how to make origami animals is simple: take a piece of paper, fold it according to the diagram below and get a funny little animal.

How to make a box with a lid

An origami box is an irreplaceable thing that will be useful for a gift. You can roll it up in a matter of minutes. To create, you don't need any glue or scissors, just a couple of pieces of paper. For the box it is better to choose beautiful colored paper. As you work, remember that the lid must be larger than the base. On top, you can decorate the box according to the occasion: with ribbons with New Year's prints, buttons, and other decorative items. Step-by-step instruction:

  • We draw the sheet from one corner to the opposite corner diagonally.
  • We bend one corner to the center.

  • Let's do the same with the other corners.
  • We bend two corners back, fold the remaining ones in half flush with the center line, as in the photo.

  • Let's do a similar procedure with the other two corners. The result is a blank, as in the photo.
  • We make cuts.

  • We bend two corners to the center.

  • Next we fold it as in the photo.

  • This turns out to be the bottom part of the box. In the same sequence, we make the cap 5 mm larger on each side.

Beautiful flowers - paper rose

Origami rose is a popular craft using this technique. It is made quickly and easily from one square sheet of paper, painted red on both sides. Step-by-step instructions:

  • Fold the sheet in half.
  • Fold it in half again.

  • Uncover and flatten the top layer.
  • Turn the workpiece over and turn over the square.
  • We repeat the third step.

  • Bend two corners towards the top.
  • Bend the triangles in half, marking the lines.

  • Open and flatten the triangles by pulling the corners down.
  • We bend the upper parts of the resulting pockets down.

  • For the second side, repeat steps 6-9.
  • Make a fold by bending the top corner.

  • We open the lower part of the workpiece like a book.
  • We take the places indicated in the picture, pull, flatten so that we get two triangles on the side.

  • Turn the workpiece over.

  • We raise the triangle.

  • We bend the lower right square from top to bottom diagonally.

  • Turn the product 180 degrees. We repeat the previous stage.

  • We place the workpiece on the left palm. Using the fingers of our right hand, we grasp the walls of the craft and twist it clockwise until we get a rose. We curl the petals beautifully with a pencil or thin stick.

Modular 3D origami made of white paper - swan

Modular origami allows you to create very beautiful, voluminous crafts. This master class shows you step by step how to assemble a beautiful swan. This product can become a decoration for your home. Step by step instructions:

  • According to the scheme, we make 458 white triangular modules. One orange or red for the beak.
  • We take three modules, insert the corners of two into the pockets of the third.

  • Let's add two more.
  • Using the same scheme, we add two modules.

  • We position the structure as shown in the photo.
  • We insert the corners into the pockets.

  • We assemble three rows in this way, each of which consists of 30 modules. We close in a circle.
  • We put on the fourth and fifth row modules in the same way.

  • We take the workpiece, gently press the center with our thumbs, turning the product inside out.

  • We bend the edges up.

  • We put on the sixth row, arranging the modules in a checkerboard pattern.
  • In the seventh layer we make wings: put on 12 modules, skip two corners, attach 12 more. On the missing narrow section there will be a neck, and on the remaining wide section there will be a tail.

  • In the next row we reduce the wing by one module.
  • Similarly, reduce each row until one triangle remains.

  • We make the tail according to the principle of decreasing by one module in each new layer.
  • We make the neck and head 10 white and 1 red module, on which you need to glue the corners so that the beak is not forked. The neck is assembled like this: we insert the corners of one into the pockets of the other module.

  • So we collect the rest, arching our necks.
  • We place the neck in the right place.

What else can be made from paper: assembly diagrams

All kinds of origami techniques make it possible to make many interesting crafts. This is an ideal pastime for a child in the form of play. At the moment, the resource is mainly aimed at beginners; almost all assembly patterns are quite simple, but interesting even for those who have been interested in origami for a long time.

1. Don’t have anything to do with your child? Teach him how to fold simple paper origami. This will not only interest him, but also develop fine motor skills of his fingers, teach him patience and attentiveness, and introduce him to the world around him. Children love to do things with their own hands, and not only children, it is always nice to create something so that later you can proudly say: “I made it myself.”

2. The best gift is one made by yourself. An unusual paper craft is an excellent option, because the gift turns out to be absolutely unique, and the main thing is that it is not just a hastily purchased item in the nearest store, but an original item that was made specifically, for which a person spent time understanding the origami diagram, sometimes even not one hour. Some will say that giving a paper craft is not serious, but just look at this rose, it’s like a real one! And you can put together a whole bouquet of these. Of course, you can also give money, but even here you can present a gift creatively by making a paper hare or bull out of money.

3. Valentines. Yes, yes, here you can also show your individuality and surprise your other half not with an ordinary heart cut out of paper, but with a beautiful, neat paper valentine folded using the origami technique.

4. Useful little things in the form of paper envelopes, beautiful gift boxes or photo frames. All this is, first of all, original, unusual and not at all difficult to do yourself using step-by-step origami diagrams.

5. Origami is a way to decorate a room. A paper swan made from modules can take its rightful place in any home and attract the admiring glances of guests. Don’t forget about kusudama – bright flower balls. Such paper crafts can be hung on a string in any corner of the apartment.

Origami is the ancient Japanese art of folding various paper figures. To get 7-8 year old children interested in this activity, you will need to prepare thick paper, maybe multi-colored. In addition to good leaves, you will need scissors, glue, a ruler, a pencil, as well as elements for decoration. To start assembling origami, you will also need to choose suitable patterns for beginners.

  1. Folding paper figures trains fine motor skills of children 7-8 years old.
  2. Promotes the development of non-standard thinking, logic and memory.
  3. Develops mathematical abilities, spatial thinking, logic and the ability to find solutions to complex problems.
  4. Origami has a calming effect and develops perseverance and concentration.

Swan diagram

In order to make an origami swan out of paper for children 7-8 years old, you will need to use step-by-step diagrams. If you use the most common and common paper patterns, you can easily and simply make a swan with your own hands.

  1. Fold the square sheet in half, marking a fold diagonally.
  2. We fold the two sides of the sheet to the resulting fold.
  3. The sides will need to be folded one more time.
  4. Let's fold our craft in half.
  5. Bends the swan's neck inside the craft. The bending point should be approximately in the middle of the craft.
  6. At an arbitrary point on the tip we bend our head and our swan is ready.

Modular origami in the shape of a swan looks good; it is just right for beginners, since the patterns are very simple and making such a toy from modules with your own hands will not be difficult. A craft made from modules is put together quite simply, it is light if you correctly understand how to install the modules one into the other. Very quickly you can create a swan that will be a beautiful decoration for an exhibition, a nursery, or a great holiday gift.

Animals

It will be very easy to make origami for beginners and children 8 years old in the form of animals. You will need to use the patterns to fold the cats and dogs yourself. These easy and step-by-step diagrams will help you make amazing toys for children, because you can use not only white paper, but also colored paper.

To make the dog's face, you will need to take a square piece of paper:

  1. Bend the sheet diagonally along the floors.
  2. Fold the edges of the resulting triangle towards the center, but the top lines should not overlap, lower them a little lower.
  3. Now the bent triangles need to be bent again and laid in the shape of dog ears.
  4. Turn the craft over and grab it on the bottom corner.
  5. Unfold the corners and fold them inward, forming the lower part of the dog's muzzle.
  6. Draw the eyes and nose, and your do-it-yourself dog is ready.

This simple instruction is suitable even for children 8 years old; they can make such a toy with their own hands if they follow the diagram.

Simple instructions for folding a paper toy are suitable for folding a fox's face with your own hands.

  1. Fold the square sheet in half.
  2. Direct the corner of the resulting triangle upward and bend the corners upward, forming the ears of the fox.
  3. Turn the craft over and fold the corner.
  4. Turn it over again and draw the eyes, nose and antennae of the fox.

When your child masters the simplest crafts, you can try to start making modular origami with him. For example, you can collect a bunny for children. There are different schemes, but the simplest is this:

  1. We begin to fold modular origami from three rows of 24 standard modules.
  2. We turn the craft inside out and make 6 more rows, this will be the modular body of the bunny.
  3. The head will be made up of thirty modules, which are inserted on the other side towards the body.
  4. Next, we place 7 rows as standard, just as we did when assembling the modular body.
  5. The ears are assembled from modules that we install in reverse. We form a modular ear from 6 modules, then 5, then 6 again, then 5, again 6, 5 modules and 4. Now the modular ear is ready.

Origami dog

Ship

Using clear diagrams, it will not be difficult for children 8 years old to make a boat with their own hands.

  1. To assemble the boat, you will need to bend a rectangular sheet in half.
  2. After this, bend it in half again vertically, marking the middle.
  3. The upper edges of the resulting sheet will need to be folded towards the middle, forming an angle at the top.
  4. Fold the remaining part from the bottom to the top, folding the edges over the triangle both in front and behind.
  5. Slide your fingers under the edge and unfold the triangle to create a hollow cone.
  6. Fold the paper so that those edges that are not touching, but opposite, touch.
  7. Fold the corners up.
  8. Turn the craft to the sides, and your boat will be head.

After the child masters such a boat, you can offer him modular folding of the boats.

Modular technology is a new phenomenon for children today. You can create truly mesmerizing crafts that amaze with their beauty and variety. See photos and videos for examples of completed works for children aged 7-8 years.

What is the difference?

What is the difference between modular origami and classic? And since you will need at least 6 identical modules in each row, there are also quite a lot of sheets of colored paper. But the result is worth it. A little perseverance and patience and you can make real masterpieces that will be the envy of others.

The origami method consists of connecting all the modules to each other, connecting the structure, giving it various shapes.

In your work, you can use PVC glue and thereby create any figures of different colors and sizes. The more sheets of paper are used in the work, the more difficult it is to come up with a design structure from triangular elements, which is suitable for older children: 11-12 years old and 13-14 years old.

Origami schemes:

Let's start working

  1. In Russian folklore, the birch tree is compared to a slender and beautiful girl. But indeed, there is something equally naive, pure, attractive in the birch tree;
  2. Swan made of modules. Assembling the figure is not difficult, the only thing is that it takes a lot of time. This swan is suitable as a gift for a birthday, a wedding celebration, or a wedding anniversary;
  3. Vase with rose. For this work, a diagram of a modular painting was taken, only made in a circle. They put a glass inside - you can already put flowers;
  4. Cat made of paper modules. This cat looks beautiful in any home! Everyone likes her. This craft required more than a thousand triangular modules;
  5. "Russian beauty". In this master class we invite you to assemble the figure of a girl in Russian folk costume: sundress, shirt, headband. In a similar way, you can collect figures in other national traditions;
  6. Transformer. An interesting type of crafts made from modular origami are transformers. They can be assembled in different ways and get different shapes. Try creating a transforming craft.

Paper origami for children

Simple origami for children: diagrams

Origami “Bunny” for children 1) Take a square sheet of thick paper2) Fold its two sides diagonally so that you get a shape similar to a diamond, but one side should be slightly shorter than the other3) Make a small cut in the center of the sheet, starting with the longer side of the diamond4) Fold the sheet in half so that the cut is on top5) Bend one of the triangles formed from the cut upward (this will be the ear)6) Fold it in half so that the ear becomes half the size, and the remaining part turns into a bunny's face, on which you can now draw an eye7) Do the same with the second side8) Now your bunny’s body looks like a triangle. Mentally (or with a pencil) draw a line from its top (located at the bottom) to the center of the base (located at the top) 9) Fold the far part of the triangle (the one that is further from the muzzle) inward. Ready! If desired, the bunny can be painted in any colors.

Origami for children "Fish" 1) Fold a square piece of paper in half to make a triangle 2) Fold its edges towards the center so that you again have a square (but keep it in the shape of a diamond, that is, with the angle down) 3) Fold the triangles from which you now have consists of the surface of the square, twice 4) Now fold each of the triangles on top twice more, bending down only the top layer of paper 5) Fold the smallest triangles twice more, mentally drawing a line from their vertices, located in the center of the square, to the bases, located on its sides 6) Now let’s take care of the bottom part of the rhombus: fold the top layer of paper “valley” (that is, towards you) 7) Turn the strip formed in the center “mountain” (that is, away from you) 8) Fold the uppermost triangle again “valley” 9) Bend its upper part into a “mountain” 10) On both sides, cut one layer of diamond paper along the line that is the base of the largest triangle 11) Turn the bottom of the triangles “mountain” 12) Turn the result inside out.

The fish is ready! All that remains is to draw the eyes and decorate it! Both proposed schemes are origami for children 9 years old and older. In any case, at the first stage of a child’s acquaintance with a new hobby, parents are recommended to be present nearby and even actively participate in the process. Most likely, origami will captivate not only the child, but also the parents who started it all. So origami has every chance of becoming a real family hobby!
