Taoist inner alchemy

This ancient drawing illustrating the method of internal alchemy may have been created by an advanced Taoist from the Chinese Tang Dynasty (7th century AD). This was the golden period of internal alchemy, when many Taoist and Buddhist schools (later in Japan, Taoist-Buddhist teachings became known as Zen) and monasteries received the support of the emperor. Later, many years later, a Taoist adept wrote the following text under this drawing:

“The original drawing was found in a library in the High Pine Mountains, where it hung away from human eyes for hundreds of years. Perhaps the diagram of the inner world hidden inside our body could seem too deep and mysterious for the outer world. The drawing was clear enough, and later, when its significance became obvious, it was not difficult to reprint it. When I first saw it, I decided to show it to anyone, because its value is too great. Now I once again humbly offer this creation to the world.” San Tian

Like the alchemists of ancient China, the Healing Tao again offers this drawing to people, only now we can decipher the strange symbols depicted on it and explain to people the mysterious connection between their body, nature and the universe. The ancient Taoist viewed the human body as a microcosm of the natural world. Anatomy is an internal landscape with its rivers, forests, mountains and lakes, which are harmoniously combined with the external landscape of planet Earth. You can see how the spine reaches a spiritual peak in the region of the brain.

The figure also shows the meridians of the microcosmic orbit (small celestial circle). This is the circulating flow of heat that underlies Taoist alchemy. The true task of internal alchemy is to purify, develop and transform our internal organs and sexual energy.

Healing Love

The sexual organs produce a huge amount of sexual energy, but, unfortunately, they are not able to store and accumulate it for a long time. But sexual energy is the best energy we have at our disposal, so there is no point in throwing it away. Excess sexual energy can be transformed and used to heal and nourish our body and brain. First level

Every woman is endowed with the ability to receive pleasure so powerful that nothing else on this earth can compare with it. Taoist secrets of love allow you to unlock this potential. In female sexuality lies a wonderful source of love that can radically transform our whole life. Thinking about sex as something not too connected with other areas of life is fundamentally wrong. In fact, a woman's sex life at the deepest level reflects her health, inner shanti (peace), relationships with a partner and others, as well as emotionality.

Taoism is a spiritual healing system that originated in ancient China. Taoists have always recognized that sex is one of the most important secret components of a fulfilling healthy life. In ancient times, doctors - Taoists, taking patients, were always interested in their sexual activity.

Also, ancient healers for some ailments prescribed the Taoist secrets of love - sex at a certain time or in specific positions.

Taoists understand sexual energy as one of the most powerful sources of qi, the life force, controlling all spheres of human existence. The secret Taoist female practices, sometimes referred to as healing love, are the only way for women with low levels of love power to enjoy sexual intimacy, experience multiple orgasms, experience the power of santi, and generally raise love power.

Chinese Taoism is the basis of traditional Chinese medicine, which includes herbal medicine, acupuncture, proper nutrition, qigong energy meditation, massage, Taijiquan martial arts, and Taoist yoga for women.

Mantak Chia developed the Universal Tao system, which teaches the secret techniques of Taoist meditation and a system of physical exercises that increase the level of qi and balance the physical shell of a person. Secret sexual practices or healing love is an essential part of this system.

Also one of the most famous authors of books on Taoist practices is Shanti Nathini (Maria Nikolaeva). Nathini has written more than a dozen popular works on Eastern practices. She is also a correspondent for Yoga magazine, editor and translator of secret esoteric books.

Every woman has a passion

According to the secret Taoist teaching, passion is an integral part of the nature of any person. Women's passion is especially strong and multifaceted. Many modern ladies complain that they have lost passion and sensuality due to stress, fatigue, and the intense course of life. In fact, this is not at all the case, Nathini argues: every woman, regardless of the momentary state of the body and soul, is able to experience the attraction of secret love.
Sometimes, in order to ignite desires, it is enough to enter the state of shanti, that is, to relax the body and brain. But this is not so easy for a modern person.

Abdominal breathing is a simple yet effective relaxation exercise that will help you learn how to relax. The fact that deep breathing is an excellent way to relax is confirmed not only by numerous results of modern research, but also by thousands of years of experience in Eastern wisdom.

The abdominal breathing technique helps to feel passion in any situation, but it is especially effective before sexual experiments.
To perform this exercise, you need to find a place where no one bothered you, no one prevented you from surrendering to love and sensuality. The number of repetitions must be a multiple of nine (in Taoism, this number means infinity). The same rules apply to all secret love practices described in the works of Chia, Nathini and other authors.

Determine which yoga is right for you?

Techniques for experienced practitioners are suitable for you

Kundalini yoga- direction of yoga with an emphasis on breathing exercises and meditation. The lessons involve both static and dynamic body work, moderate physical activity and many meditation practices. Get ready for hard work and regular practice: most kriyas and meditations need to be done for 40 days on a daily basis. Such classes will be of interest to those who have already taken their first steps in yoga and like to meditate.

Will help you: strengthen the muscles of the body, relax, cheer up, relieve stress, lose weight.

Suitable for you: kundalini yoga video lessons with Alexey Merkulov, kundalini yoga classes with Alexey Vladovsky.

yoga nidra- practice of deep relaxation, yogic sleep. It is a long meditation in the pose of a corpse under the guidance of an instructor. It has no medical contraindications and is also suitable for beginners.
Will help you: relax, relieve stress, get acquainted with yoga.

Bikram yoga- This is a set of 28 exercises that are performed by students in a room heated to 38 degrees. Due to the constant maintenance of high temperature, sweating increases, toxins are removed from the body faster, and the muscles become more flexible. This style of yoga focuses only on the fitness component and leaves spiritual practices aside.

Try also:

aerial yoga- Aerial yoga, or, as it is also called, “yoga on hammocks”, is one of the most modern areas of yoga, which allows you to perform asanas in the air. Aerial yoga is held in a specially equipped room, in which small hammocks are suspended from the ceiling. It is in them that asanas are performed. Such yoga makes it possible to quickly master some complex asanas, and also promises good physical activity, develops flexibility and strength.

Hatha yoga- one of the most common types of practice, many author's directions of yoga are based on it. Suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Hatha yoga lessons help you master basic asanas and simple meditations. Usually classes are held at a leisurely pace and involve a predominantly static load.

Will help you: get acquainted with yoga, lose weight, strengthen muscles, relieve stress, cheer up.

Suitable for you: hatha yoga video lessons, pair yoga classes.

Ashtanga yoga- Ashtanga, which in translation means "the eight-step path to the final goal", is one of the complex styles of yoga. This direction combines different practices and represents an endless stream in which one exercise smoothly flows into another. Each asana should be held for several breaths. Ashtanga yoga will require strength and endurance from its adherents.

Iyengar Yoga- This direction of yoga is named after its founder, who created a whole health complex designed for students of any age and level of training. It was Iyengar yoga that first allowed the use of auxiliary devices (rollers, belts) in the classroom, which made it easier for beginners to perform many asanas. The purpose of this style of yoga is to promote health. Much attention is also paid to the correct performance of asanas, which are considered the basis for mental and physical recovery.

Much attention is also paid to the correct performance of asanas, which are considered the basis for mental and physical recovery.

abdominal breathing

  • Take a comfortable position, relax your shoulders (you can quietly say three times: “shanti, shanti, shanti”);
  • Fold the hands under the navel on the stomach;
  • Inhale deeply through the nose and direct the air into the peritoneum. At the same time, the stomach should begin to gently press on the hands;
  • Slow, smooth exhalation through the mouth or nose. The abdomen returns to its normal position;
  • Take as many breaths as you need (optimally nine or eighteen), feeling the gradual relaxation of the body;
  • Exhaling, imagine that tension leaves the body along with the air.

Having found inner shanti, you can move on to the second exercise, which is called Secret Love Guided Meditation. It will take about a quarter of an hour to complete it - during this time you should not be disturbed. The text of the meditation should be recorded on any convenient medium and played back during the exercise. Nathini recommends: listening to the recorded words, try to give free rein to the imagination, immerse yourself in the stream of images and visions. Let the mind soar, and visual images come in addition to your desire. Attention! The main thing in the end is to feel a surge of desire, to free your sensuality, no matter how it manifests itself.

Guided Meditation

Remember the wonderful moment when a wave of passion covered you with your head. Wander through the memories and find the one that will captivate you with joy and energy potential. If there are several such memories, you can not choose one, but ply between them all. Was there a partner? Or maybe you were alone? If memories of moments of passion do not come, visualize your most beautiful sexual fantasy.

Now let's tune in to this memory. Are you alone or with a partner? If there is a partner, who is he? Take a look around you. Where are you at? What surrounds you. Describe the situation in as much detail as possible. Are you indoors or outdoors? What objects are around you? What colors? Is the light bright or, on the contrary, soft, muffled? Are any sounds heard? Now observe what the body feels. Enjoy the sensations on the skin, lips, genitals. Allow yourself to feel the passion. What is she? Is it heat, vibration, or tingling? Where exactly are sensations located? Remember your feelings, fix them. Now return to the Here and Now.

Next, you need to take a piece of paper and set out on it in as much detail as possible all the details that brought an atmosphere of intimacy, passion, and relaxation into your fantasy. Which of these can you already try in reality? Check off the most important items on the list. In Nathini's books, there is a recommendation to supplement the list with details, impressions and circumstances that can improve your intimate meetings right now. Think about how often that erotic circumstance should be present in your life that helps maintain the level of libido.

The part of life associated with Eros is a delicate flower, it needs to be constantly watered, groomed and cherished. Therefore, do not forget to constantly take even small, but steps towards gaining passion and knowing sexual energy. Developing your passion, you need to take advantage of any opportunities that life provides.

The nature of chi energy

The Taoists' subtle understanding of the nature of our life energy is built on the balance between the qi we give and the qi we receive. They believe that a person has three main types of qi:

  1. The main energy is the first type of Taoist qi, of which sexual energy is a part. This power is given to a person from birth, it is a product of the union of heaven and earth, embodied in the love and closeness of parents. At the beginning of life, a person has a huge supply of basic energy - that's why children are so restless. This energy is connected with the reproductive system. It performs the main function of supporting the body. Continuing life, a person spends his main qi.
  2. Vital energy circulates in the body, maintaining the efficiency of the organs. Its use is the secret of the effectiveness of Taoist women's practices.
  3. Spiritual energy is obtained from Taoist qi when the vitality is sufficient, the mind is clear, and the emotions are clear.

Do not forget! From the books of Chia, Nathini and other popular authors, you can get detailed information about Taoism.

Finding inner peace and harmony with the outside world, a person merges with Tao - the creator, the great power of the universe. Oriental medicine links emotional and physical health very closely. The Taoists, as described in the books of Nathini, believe that the five main organs—heart, kidneys, lungs, liver, spleen—are associated with various emotions. If this whole system is balanced, qi flows without problems - and the person does not get sick. But if the balance is disturbed, the organs can begin to fail. In this case, the level of emotion associated with the diseased organ increases.

The exercises for longevity and health that Bian Zhizhong describes are part of a Taoist system designed to maintain health and strengthen the body. They are smooth, calm movements that people practiced in ancient times. Taoist practices are especially good for the weakened after illness and the elderly. You don't need good weather outside or a lot of space to do them. You can perform Taoist practices at any time of the day. In this case, you will get good results soon after the start.

Taoist sexual practices, for example, are quite effective. So, a case was recorded with one man who, at the age of about 70, lost sexual activity. He regularly performed these exercises for two months, and the potency returned. This proves that Taoist sexual practices really work. Now this old man notes that he feels as if he is regaining his youth.

A little about Bian Zhizhong

Bian Zhizhong, the author of the exercises, is in his seventies. He has been performing Taoist practices for over 40 years. This man is now as strong as a middle-aged healthy man. We bring to your attention the most popular and interesting Taoist practices included in the system called "10 Golden Exercises".

"Recovery Source"

The purpose of this exercise is to help the body absorb fresh elements, as well as get rid of used ones. You will also learn to control your internal organs, and you will be able to stimulate blood circulation and energy, which will increase vitality. This exercise is the basis for the following. It is also indispensable for diseases of the shoulder joints and spine, painful menstruation and gastric disorders. It can be especially advised to those who want to strengthen the tone of the body, as well as change weight, improve the functioning of the reproductive system. Taoist practice does not reveal the secrets of love, but it really helps to feel young for many years. Beginners should be very careful with this exercise. It should be repeated 2 times a day, each time for 3-5 minutes.

Description of the exercise

You need to stand up straight, freely lower your arms along the body, put your feet shoulder-width apart. Look straight ahead, relax. The mind must be free from thoughts.

Now inhale deeply, while straightening your shoulders and rising on your toes. It is best for beginners to breathe only through the nose. With regular exercises, after a while you will be able to do this with your mouth and nose, and also use the lower abdomen for this. As you exhale, try to draw a little on your heels, bending your knees. Take 16 such breaths.

Now hold your breath for a minute, then shake your whole body. Relax your muscles while standing straight. The knees are slightly bent, the arms hang freely along the body. Start shaking, vibrating every joint and muscle in your body. At the same time, men should slightly shake their testicles in the perineum, and women should keep their vagina ajar (Taoist women's practices are sometimes slightly different from men's). Fingers should be slightly bent. As you straighten them, you should feel them swell. You need to shake it for about a minute, that is, make about 4 vibrations.

"Eight Diagrams"

This exercise affects all of our body. Very good hand movements activate the neck, shoulder joints and shoulder blades. It is useful in the treatment of cerebral thrombosis, headache, dizziness, neurasthenia, helps to prevent and treat pleurisy, as well as myocardial infarction. Among other things, these movements improve coordination and increase concentration.

Stand straight, arms hanging freely along the body, feet shoulder-width apart. Look in front of you, freeing your mind from thoughts.

Raise both arms slowly up to shoulder level. At the same time, imagine that you are holding a basketball with them in front of you. Bend your knees slowly. Continue moving your left hand up until it is above your head. The right hand moves to the right and down. Rotate 45 degrees so that your upper body is straight. Fully bend the left leg, and only half - the right.

Describe now with your right hand in front of you in the air (that is, on the right side) the symbol called "Eight Diagrams". To do this, do the following. The right hand now at the bottom right should be raised up and forward until it is above the head. Now turn your palm back, describe the circle with your hand. Now describe an S-shaped figure from the bottom up, doing this along an imaginary circle, its vertical diameter. Now the right hand should be above the head. Roll it forward and down to make another circle. With your right foot, step forward, bend it completely, and the left - only half. After describing the circle, the right hand is above the head, the left begins to move to the left and down, describing the symbol of the "Eight Diagrams" in the air, but now from the left side. These movements are identical to those made with the right, except that they should be performed in the opposite direction.

After the left hand is above the head, make the right movement from the right down. The right leg takes a step back. Bend the left completely, the right half. This is the end of the exercise, you can do it again. It is necessary to perform it without stopping, alternately with different hands (both - 16, 8 movements each). The execution time is approximately one minute.

"Flight of the Roc"

The following exercise will help you get rid of excess weight, so it is included especially often in Taoist women's practices. All movements in it resemble the flight of a bird: hands in the air describe a figure that looks like a figure eight, lying on its side.

Stand up straight. Your feet should be shoulder width apart. Stand still with your stomach in and chest out. Bend your knees a little.

Now raise both hands to the level of the chest, while describing the “lying eight” with them. The left one, when you describe this figure on the left side of the chest, should be on top, and the right one seems to follow it. When both hands are directly in front of the chest, swap them. The left is now on the bottom, the top is on the right. Describe the number eight on the right. Do this 16 times, alternately changing the position of the hands. Then do the following exercises. Taoist practices are not limited to this.

"Turtle retracts its head"

With this exercise, you can strengthen the nervous system, get rid of excess weight and diabetes. In it, the basic movement resembles the behavior of a turtle hiding its head under its shell.

Stand up straight, spread your chest. Bend your knees slightly with your arms along your torso.

Raise both hands in front of your chest, palms down, parallel to the ground. Bend your elbows slightly. With your left hand, slide down a semicircle to the level of your stomach, then turn it up with your palm as if you were holding a ball. Shift your body weight onto your right foot. Lean forward, turn your body slightly to the left. Now move your left leg half a step in the same direction, bend your knee. The right leg should be extended. The foot is completely on the ground. Stretch your left arm forward at the same time, bend it at the wrist. In this case, the fingers should be horizontal to the ground. Lower your right hand until it touches the thigh. This pose resembles a person galloping on a horse.

Turn your left hand outward with your palm, stretch it, while the left shoulder should describe a circle - the shoulder joint first moves up, then back, then down. Press the left hand to the same part of the chest as close as possible, describe a semicircle with the right. After that, press the right one as close as possible to the chest (to its right side), lean back with the upper part of your body, bend your back, pull in your stomach and neck, like a turtle hiding its head under the shell.

Now return to the normal position of the shoulders (first make a rotational movement back, then forward). With both hands, describe a circle in front of the chest: first down, then forward and up. The shoulder joints during this movement move back and then forward, returning to their original position. With both hands, describe now another circle. Draw it this time first up, then back and forth. When the hands are at the level of the abdomen, make a rotational movement with the shoulder joints, first back, then forward, returning them to their original position. Then repeat the circular motion.

When they are at the level of the abdomen, the shoulders return to their original position, you should turn to the right with the upper body. Place your hands in front of your chest as if you were holding a ball in front of you. Transfer the weight of the body to the left leg, lift the right leg and move it forward half a step so that your posture resembles a person galloping on a horse. From this position, you can begin to perform the exercise on the right side. All movements are exactly the same as described above. However, they should be done in reverse. Do this exercise 4 times in each side, alternating directions (8 times in total). Turn left to finish it. Thus, you will return to the starting position.

"Floating Dragon"

Taoist practices for women and men include the following exercise. It improves kidney function, strengthens the spine. In it, the movements resemble the tail of a dragon playing in the water (the Taoist practices of the "10 Golden Exercises", as you probably already noticed, often imitate various animals). You should describe three circles with your hands in front of you.

How to do this exercise?

Squeeze your hips tightly, your feet should be close to each other, and your ankles should touch. Hang your arms loosely along your body, clench your fingers. Pull in your chin now, then smile and think that you are still young (Taoist practice "inner smile").

Press your hands tightly to your sides, bend them, folding your palms in front of your chest, as if in prayer. The hands now move to the left so that the right palm is on the left. Raise your right elbow now. At the same time, the head moves to the left, and the right thigh to the right. Stretch your arms up and to the left, pressing your palms against each other. They need to be held above the head, and then lowered to the right of the head. When they are in front of the neck, you will describe a full circle. Now the left palm is on top, fingers point forward. While making a circle with your arms, swing your hips from right to left, then return to the center position. Squat down slightly, bending your knees so that the center of gravity moves slightly lower.

Now describe a semicircle to the right and down with closed palms. As a result, the hands should be in front of the chest (covers the left palm with the right one). Fingers point forward. Swing your hips to the right while your arms describe a semicircle. Return them to their original position. Crouching, complete the second lower half circle.

Further to the right and down, continue it, the left palm should be above the right. Fingers point forward. After describing a semicircle with your hands, swing your hips to the left, then return them to their original position. The center of gravity moves lower and lower. You should now be half squatting, completing the third half circle.

All the movements described above go from top to bottom. Let's proceed now to the movements in the opposite direction - from the bottom up. Complete the exercise in the same way. Now repeat it 4 times. In the final part, when the hands describe the third circle and are at the left side of your chest, continue to the left and up. Lower them loosely when they are directly overhead.

"Swimming Frog"

The Taoist practices of the "10 Golden Exercises" include the following, which heals the thyroid gland. It imitates the movements of a frog floating on water.

Squeeze your thighs tightly, placing your feet close together, your ankles should touch. Lower your arms freely along the torso, squeeze your fingers on both. Smile with your chin in.

Now raise your bent arms so that your palms are at your chest. You need to close your fingers, bend your knees, pull in your neck and stomach. Now you are half crouched. Raise your heels a little. Stretch your arms forward at chest level, describe two circles with both hands at the same time, and then return them back to the position in front of the chest. Remember, making movements with your hands, how a frog swims.

As you describe circles, remember to stick out your buttocks and stretch your neck. With both hands, make 8 circular movements forward, and then to the sides and towards you. After that - 8 times on the contrary, from yourself. When the palms are at the chest, start a circular motion. Describing circles clockwise, you should put forward the upper abdomen and chest, straighten the legs, and stick out the buttocks and stretch the neck. It is recommended to do only 16 movements.

"Phoenix Spreads Its Wings"

Basic Taoist practices for men and women (this complex) completes the following exercise. With the help of it, we restore calmness, increase vitality. The flapping of the wings of the phoenix resembles the movements of the hands.

By doing this exercise, you will get rid of the excitement that arose after the previous ones. Therefore, it completes a cycle that completes both Taoist female practices and male ones.

The legs are now shoulder-width apart, and the arms hang freely along the torso. The muscles are relaxed, the fingers are slightly bent.

Now raise your hands as if there is a ball in them (above the left hand - right). Turn your hands back to each other. Now lift the left as far as possible to the left and up, palm down. At this time, take the right down and to the right as much as possible, palm up. At the same time, take a half step to the left with your left foot, assuming the pose of an archer. Shift your body weight to the left, turn your head (look like a phoenix spreading its wings).

Return your hands to the starting position. Raise your right hand as far to the right and up as possible, palm down. At the same time, take the left one as far as possible to the left and down, palm up. At the same time, take a half step to the right with your right foot, assuming the pose of an archer.

Transfer the body weight to the right, look down, turning your head like a phoenix spreading its wings. Repeat the exercise 4 times on both sides, 8 times in total.

These are the basic Taoist practices of the 10 Golden Exercises. It is better to perform them in a complex, but you can also separately. Try it and you will feel for yourself what Taoist rejuvenation practices are. Others are also very interesting. For example, Taoist practices to improve vision will help those who have it falls. Today, such exercises are especially relevant for many. Taoist love practices are also gaining popularity.

Let's talk about Eastern practices. There are 2 main prejudices about these cases. One is when they think that oriental techniques are so ancient that they are not suitable for a modern person. But! Agree, our body has not changed so much over the past few centuries: for example, we have not grown new limbs. Yes, and stress has always accompanied a person. Deadlines, coffee, nightclubs and traffic are not so scary compared to tigers, floods and wars.

Someone is also stopped by the fact that 2 main systems came to us ready-made from Asia: yoga - from India, qigong - from China. And therefore, supposedly, they cannot influence us, Europeans. At the same time, for some reason, we all cannot refuse Asian food. Moreover, it is in traditional oriental medicine that not only body types are taken into account, but also different mindsets and characters of patients, which makes it possible to prescribe individual means of healing to each. Will we dare to expand our horizons?

qigong

This system of healing and self-development originated in ancient China, of an indeterminate age - someone believes that it is only a few centuries old, some researchers are counting for millennia. Qi (or “chi”, as they say in English) is our life energy, qigong is its management. Diseases and all health problems arise due to a violation of the circulation of energy in the body., but special exercises with a concentration on breathing allow you to restore its natural course. Everything is clear, right?

When it is useful: If you want to relax, drive away stress, improve attention and concentration, recuperate after an injury or illness.

What it looks like: Like many other ancient practices, there are several styles and directions in qigong. But what they have in common is deep, natural breathing and a definite, healthy spinal alignment. If you have seen people in the parks standing motionless with their hands outstretched, in which it looks like a ball (but in reality they are not), then this is (most likely) qigong. Soft and repetitive dynamic exercises are added to static exercises: circular movements of the hands, tilts, turns, movements. This can be done both at the edge of a pine forest, and in a closet that is not suitable for active exercises. Special clothing is also not required. In general, it's convenient.

What happens: Physical activity is minimal - almost non-existent. But the consequences for the nervous system are like from meditation (in fact, this is one of its forms). Breathing is controlled by both consciousness and subconsciousness, that is, it is the focus on the natural respiratory process that unites them. The mind gets rid of restless thoughts, movements are performed in a relaxed manner, in a comfortable rhythm and range. Having accumulated qi, you can direct it to the organs that require healing, and to certain energy points, which is akin to acupuncture, but without injections.

Suitable for: Although there are severe techniques in qigong - they turn the adept's body into stone, you can sleep peacefully on nails - “soft” directions are massively distributed, to which it is difficult to come up with contraindications. Qigong can be practiced by young and not very young people, with physical limitations and those who are not suitable for ordinary types of fitness for some reason. The emphasis on natural breathing relaxes and strengthens the lungs, in particular, studies say it helps with asthma. And the practice also saves citizens who are provided with plenty of physical activity, but are languishing from stress and urgently need to restore peace of mind.

Bikram yoga

This direction was created in the second half of the last century by the Indian Bikram Chowdhury. At first he achieved great success in classical yoga, but for some reason he was also involved in weightlifting - he received a serious knee injury and a verdict from doctors that he could no longer walk. But Bikram did not give up and decided to invent his own recovery method: sensibly judging that the body stretches better when warm, and the joints benefit from warming up for some diseases, he took up the practice in a room with an elevated temperature. So he got rid of the consequences of the injury, and then began to help his neighbors. His students include President Nixon and Madonna.

When it is useful: You want to seriously work on your flexibility, relieve pain in muscles and joints, build weight, try an unusual type of yoga, warm yourself in a winter city.

What it looks like: The complex consists of 26 classical asanas and two breathing exercises at the beginning and at the end of the session. Each pose is repeated twice, while the first part of the lesson consists of asanas in a standing position (warm-up and muscle work), and the second (work with the back and spine) is all lying down and sitting on the floor.

But the main feature is that the room temperature is slightly higher than body temperature, about 40 degrees with a humidity of 40%. When you enter the hall, it seems that it is simply warm there, and it is pleasant to breathe. It becomes hot only in the process of performing asanas. And you leave the classroom already completely wet (although moisture mainly comes from the air). However, in any studio you will be given 2 towels - for class and for the shower, so there is nothing to be ashamed of.

What happens: Sweating increases (the body removes water to cool off), but the body temperature remains within the normal range, the pulse rate can rise to 160 - this is the maximum. Thermoregulation works actively, but not in a stressful mode, but like on a hot summer day. In addition to the beneficial effects of classical yoga (general health improvement, relaxation, improved concentration and tone), Bikram perfectly develops flexibility without leading to muscle strain, which happens when performing asanas in cool rooms. Blood circulates faster and, enriched with oxygen, intensively washes all internal organs.

And, of course, pain in the joints is relieved, which manifests itself and worsens with hypothermia. Warming up is also useful for certain types of injuries and for muscle recovery after a shock power load. And - ta-da! - Bikram yoga burns more calories, however, and requires a lot of effort in return.

Best for: Bikram yoga can be practiced by everyone except citizens under 15 years old (children hardly sweat, so the body temperature runs the risk of jumping). Of course, special conditions add spice: in the first lessons you may feel dizzy and feel a little sick, but this goes away when you leave the hall. Among the contraindications are chronic diseases in the acute stage, epilepsy and mental disorders of various kinds. And you can not go to yoga with a temperature. In general, healthy people can do it - only carefully, carefully listening to the teacher. Among the individual contraindications are also some skin and joint diseases, aggravated by heating. So be sure to consult your doctor.

Taijiquan

He is also taichichuan (in the English manner), or modestly - tai chi. Also from China. Initially, it was the art of hand-to-hand combat ("taijiquan" is translated as "the fist of the Great Limit"). But the ancient masters noticed that the graceful and smooth working out of martial ligaments has a beneficial effect on the body. Thus, a separate practice arose to improve overall physical fitness, strengthen the body and develop, let's not be afraid of this word, grace. The basic principles of tai chi are similar to qigong, but have the main difference: here, inner relaxation and peace turn into continuous movement, and the choreography is much more varied and interesting.

When it is useful: If you want to add load to the body, improve coordination and mobility, heal and develop joints.

What it looks like: Tai chi is a complex of strikes, defensive blocks and movements from martial arts, but they are performed slowly, under complete control, just beautifully. Outwardly, it looks like a slow dance of dozens of chords, in which one technique turns into another. Although there are accelerations and decelerations in various forms, the idea of fluidity of movement, without loss of fluidity, without unplanned jerks and jerks, prevails in general. For the full implementation of the complex with movements and wide and low racks, free space and clothing will already be needed.

What happens: Tai chi, as a more mobile type of technique, improves blood circulation in all parts of the body and organs. Smooth circular movements gently work out the joints, restoring their performance. The principle of load comfort is preserved: you do everything as your body allows at the moment. The intensity can be increased gradually by working at a minimum speed (which is not at all easy) and lowering into deeper and wider stances. So even better train muscles, ligaments and joints. At the same time, the mind, as in qigong, is immersed in the actions of the body, that is, the nervous system is also not in the loser. And finally, when you strive to do it beautifully (and you should strive), stretching, coordination and balance improve.

Best for: Tai chi is a step from relaxation to physical activity and body strengthening, but a soft, comfortable performance is suitable for many. Particularly useful those who are deprived of normal physical activity and have joint problems: Studies have shown that such exercises alleviate the condition even with arthritis. Practice also helps in especially restless cases: when it is vital for an individual to relax, but he is not able to plunge into a trance, humbly sitting in place. Tai chi is meditation in motion.

In this article, I want to consider the types of Taoist practices and their features. The fact is that we know Qigong the most, but not many people know that this is an artificial name invented for the West in the 60s of the 20th century during the active promotion of ancient Taoist healing methods to the masses. Moreover, under the name Qigong, not only Taoist cultivation methods are often served, but also Buddhist, Indian, or some other.

In addition to qigong, there are also other methods of self-development, which are often not known at all. The difficulty of classifying all Taoist methods is that the Taoists themselves did not bother much about classification and they have many practices for all occasions without established names. But in this article, I will still try to outline the groups of practices that I know about myself, so that you get a general idea of the possibilities that a person who begins to study Taoist methods has.

Let's start with the Taoist methods, which are united by the general term "Qigong".

qigong

The term Qigong consists of two words: Qi (life force) - energy and information and Gong - work and improvement. That is, Qigong is a practice of working with ordinary Qi in order to improve a person. In ancient times, all these methods were called - "Methods of cultivating life." Such a name is difficult to promote, and therefore they came up with a shorter one, in the same way that the word "Kung Fu" was used to promote martial arts.

There are a lot of Qigong exercises and they are very different! Trying to learn all the qigong exercises is useless, it is better to take some that resonate with you and practice them, improving your skill and sensitivity.

There are varieties of Qigong on the Internet, which are worth saying a few words about:

  • Soft Qigong is actually ordinary Qigong 🙂 It is called soft, as opposed to Hard Qigong, and because usually the movements in Qigong exercises are smooth and unhurried. It should be understood that the exercises of ordinary Qigong are primarily aimed at preventing diseases and strengthening health, and not at treatment. Of course, prevention is the best treatment option 🙂
  • Hard Qigong is an exercise that is used in the martial arts primarily to strengthen the body so that it does not feel pain and is less injured when it is hit. Often this type of qigong is served as a health-improving one. In my opinion, this is complete nonsense! For example, one of the Hard Qigong complexes - I Jin Jing - is designed to train and strengthen ligaments and tendons so that not only muscle strength, but also tendon strength can be used in battle. At the same time, with the help of a special breathing technique, the human muscle frame is saturated with Qi, which provides the body with special resistance to damage. But such a cunning trick is unhealthy! Keeping Qi in a condensed state in the muscles and tendons is harmful - it interferes with the healthy circulation of Qi. Therefore, such a thing is done before the competition, and then the normal state of the energy system is resumed. Hard Qigong, of course, teaches a person to control his Qi, but in fact, it does not improve him spiritually and is not directly related to health.
  • Medical Qigong - contains all kinds of exercises to cure diseases and improve specific internal organs of a person or individual parts of the body. It also includes methods for healing other people, including methods for diagnosing with the palms, removing harmful Qi, and emitting Qi to fill the body of another person. These methods are designed to heal a person when the disease has already manifested itself. And this area organically connects with non-traditional Chinese medicine (in China, this medicine is just the opposite of traditional), so it is simply endless.
  • Tai Chi Qigong - These exercises are part of the training methods in Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi Chuan is a martial art and is not actually a Taoist practice. But for the sake of justice, it is worth saying that many Taoist masters practiced martial arts, including Tai Chi Chuan. Therefore, in this form of Wushu there are methods for working with internal Qi. For example, there are exercises in which a person learns to direct Qi into the palm or fist during a strike. In combat use, this allows you to harm the enemy not only on the physical level, but also on the energy level. It also improves the circulation of Qi in the body and allows you to get to know yourself better. I myself began my acquaintance with the world of Taoist practices with Taijiquan, and I can say that for the first time I felt my Qi during these trainings.
  • Spontaneous Qigong is a Qi method that does not have pre-formulated exercises. You simply tune in and listen to yourself and your Chi, allowing it to guide you. I first felt this phenomenon while doing the Pillar exercise. I have been standing for over an hour and my Qi has been activated. At some point, I felt that there was pressure in my hand, which forced me to move my hand. I began to slowly let go of control and the hand itself began to move until it took a completely different position than that which is supposed to be held in this exercise. After this movement, I felt that Qi began to actively move in my hand, that is, this spontaneous movement removed the clamp that prevented Qi from restoring the health of my body. Qi is actually alive and, to some extent, has its own awareness. Spontaneous Qigong uses this to improve Qi circulation and allow the body to repair itself. But this type of Qigong is not recommended for beginners! It's easy to start fooling yourself into thinking that you feel something, and eventually you'll just be kicking your legs and arms 🙂

Tao Yin

Tao Yin is a set of exercises that is aimed at improving three layers of human reality at once: the body, Qi (life force) and spirit (heart nature). Tao Yin is translated from Chinese as "lead-guide and pull-stretch." The peculiarity of Tao Yin is that thanks to the stretching movements, you not only knead the body, but also squeeze out and draw out the cloudy disease-causing Qi from your energy system. Also, during the execution of the Tao Yin exercises, the practitioner performs certain internal work to improve his heart nature.

Dao Yin differs from Qigong primarily in that its exercises are more active and give a certain load on the physical body. In addition, we can say that Qigong prepares the human energy structure for deeper Taoist practices, and Tao Yin prepares the body first of all - it allows you to stretch the ligaments and tendons so that the body is able to stay motionless for a long time during meditation.

There is very little information on the Internet about Tao Yin. Often you can find absolutely incorrect information about this art. So you can meet the opinion that there is Tao Yin and Tao Yang, which is a complete delusion! Since the word Yin in the name of Dao Yin does not mean the energy of Yin at all, and therefore there can be no Tao Yang.

Often, some exercises are shown as Dao Yin exercises that are performed while sitting and lying down. I admit the possibility that there are adaptations of exercises for bedridden patients. But I certainly recommend doing full-fledged exercises with inner work.

People who have practiced yoga before often reduce the effectiveness of Tao Yin by ignoring the inner workings, turning the exercises into simple exercises. This, of course, still benefits, but still they do it in vain 🙁

Shingun

Laying the foundation for deep transformation of the body, Qi and spirit of a person consists of three arts: Tao Yin, Qigong and Xingong. Shingun are methods for improving the heart nature of a person. Shingun is the basis of spiritual development. Without Shingun, you will not achieve great results in energy practices!

To change the tone of your whole day and even your whole life, you should immediately smile after waking up and find a reason to be happy. This will allow us to learn to see the good in the bad, to be grateful for what we have, and in the end, help restore Harmony in the heart and mind.

The thing is that if you simply heal the body and accumulate Qi by doing Qigong exercises, then you will hit the ceiling of your development because of the ego. As a result of the practice of Tao Yin and Qigong, you will have more energy, it will be more powerful and will begin to actively nourish both your virtuous qualities and your negative selfish qualities. Such a practice will lead to sudden mood swings, all sorts of distortions in the psycho-emotional sphere and, ultimately, will spoil both your life and your health!

Shingun methods are primarily self-improvement in everyday life, but there are also a number of exercises to work more actively with the nature of the heart. For example, the basis of purification of the heart nature is abdominal breathing, as calm, slow and deep breathing allows you to control emotions. There are also a number of methods for working with the middle dan tian, which is responsible for the heart nature of a person. And of course, there are methods for working with consciousness, primarily of a meditative nature.

Very often in ancient China, the student was only given Xingong methods for the first few years. And when the heart and mind of the student were sufficiently purified, only then did the teacher begin to give Taoist practices for the accumulation of Qi and internal transformation.

Nei Dan or Inner Alchemy

If Dao Yin, Qigong and Xingong are the foundation that lays the foundation for future development (prepares the body, energy system and calms the heart-consciousness), then Nei Dan or Internal Alchemy is the heart of the Taoist Tradition, without which great results and cardinal internal transformation are simply impossible. It is Nei Dan that gives you the opportunity to fully realize your spiritual potential!

All the miracles that are written and talked about when Taoist masters are mentioned are possible thanks to Nei Dan. Practice Qigong and Tao Yin for at least a thousand years, you will not be able to heal other people, make your body light, get the experience of leaving the body of the soul, start replenishing your Original Qi to significantly prolong life, and finally know your Original nature. But don't make the common mistake that I did in my day by ignoring the importance of the foundation-laying process!

Many people, having become acquainted with the first level of Nei Dan, give up their Qigong, Dao Yin, and even more Xingong classes and try hard to fuse the energy pill in the lower dan tian in order to quickly start working miracles and get an unusual experience that goes beyond the scope of everyday reality. Without laying the foundation, you will simply lose time! I do not deny that there are talented people who probably already advanced in their spiritual development in a past life, and the initial practices of Nei Dan come easily to them. But such people may face more serious obstacles if their heart nature is not ready for the level of Qi and the opportunities provided by the realization of the first levels of Nei Dan.

To be honest, Dao Yin, Qigong and Xingong give little results compared to Nei Dan. And if you also naturally have good health, an open and kind heart, and are also very sensitive to Qi, then your achievements in basic Taoist practices may be almost invisible to outsiders and even to yourself. But don't be fooled by this!

Maintaining your health, preventing its deterioration, is already a good result! Learning to replenish your usual (not Original) Qi and feel your connection with the external forces of Heaven and Earth is already an excellent result! Not allowing your heart to be clouded and remaining compassionate and philanthropic despite the chaos that sometimes reigns around - this is already a magnificent result! And even if you never start practicing Nei Dan or for some reason do not succeed in it, after living a righteous life, you will remain true to your virtuous nature and your time will not be wasted!

The Non-Doing Principle teaches that one should NOT seek gain, but should try to avoid harm!

Only at the very end, you can truly appreciate the beginning. Only by approaching death can you truly appreciate your life! Therefore, appreciate not what will amuse and delight you now, but what will not darken your heart later ...

Sleep Mastery

Many are ready to prove with foam at the mouth that there is no mastery of sleep in the Taoist tradition and never has been 🙂 I will not argue, but our Zhen Dao school has it. This section includes two types of practices:

  1. Methods for improving yourself during lucid dreams. First of all, this can help to realize the illusory nature of our reality, and, consequently, help to advance in the improvement of our heart nature.
  2. Meditation practices that are performed lying down. These practices play a supporting role, but can be very useful when your body is tired and can no longer sit still for a long time.

At one time there was a craze for lucid dreaming on the Internet. It should be understood that as one moves along the Path of spiritual development, a person becomes more and more conscious and he really has fewer and fewer dreams. A person becomes more and more empty and his heart and consciousness are purified and no longer need any illusions.

Therefore, I personally consider cultivation methods during lucid dreaming to be the initial stage.

But the methods of meditation in the lying position can be very useful to the very end.

Taoists were very practical people and came up with hundreds of practices for all occasions! There are methods to improve while walking, while sleeping, while eating, during sex, when you are standing, lying down, when there is wind or when you are near water, and so on. But it should also be understood that these are auxiliary methods that cannot replace the basis: Tao Yin, Qigong, Xingong and Nei Dan.

Types of Taoist practices without established names

As I already wrote, the Taoists did not bother much with the categorization of practices. And therefore, many practices do not have well-established short names. In the Taoist Tradition, in addition to the basics, there are also the following types of Taoist practices:

  • practices for working with trees, which allow you to gain experience of communicating with another form of life and use the power of trees for your own improvement;
  • practices for working with wind qi, natural qi or wave qi on the water;
  • practice while walking;
  • female Taoist practices - exercises that are designed to improve the mammary glands and female genital organs;
  • breathing practices to build Qi more quickly, which can then be used to heal, improve, or demonstrate miracles;
  • practices during sex that enable both partners to improve their energy structure and enrich their inner Qi thanks to the partner's Qi;
  • practices to preserve the Primordial Qi - for women this is the practice of stopping menstruation, for men - the practice of preventing ejaculation and directing sexual energy to nourish the spirit;
  • a practice that helps to refuse food in order to be able to live in the mountains for a long time and practice without being distracted by anything;
  • practices for protection from the cold, again primarily for a long stay in nature;
  • the practice of proper death, which helps to ensure the most favorable conditions for self-improvement in the next life (although it is still more likely to be included in Nei Dan and I added it here because it is more of a reserve parachute than a cultivation method, in case you fail achieve full spiritual self-realization in this life).

I'm sure there's a lot more that I don't know about. I'm not very keen on collecting practices, as it's better to focus on the basics. I think that at a higher level of development, additional practices can come in a dream or spontaneously pop up in the mind if the practitioner needs them.

The Five Principles of Taoism and Mistakes in Practice

In conclusion, I want to consider how the basic five principles of practical Taoism are implemented in practices and what mistakes practitioners sometimes make in this regard. Let me remind you that, unlike religious Taoism, in practical Taoism there are no religious rituals, but only practical methods of improvement.

So the first principle is Unity. During the exercise, it is often necessary to open the outer Qi in order to interchange the Qi of the inner and outer. So we gradually realize the principle of Unity, first in practice, and at higher levels, the Taoist master is constantly open to the outside and becomes a magnet that constantly accumulates Qi without any conscious effort.

It is a mistake to ignore this part of the inner workings. For example, standing in a column or doing breathing exercises, it is easy to get distracted by extraneous thoughts or perform the exercise mechanically, being more in the physical layer of reality, where the physical body exists. Therefore, from the very beginning, even when performing the simplest exercise of cleansing the channels of the arms and legs, it is worth paying great attention to subtle sensations at the Qi level.

But the most difficult thing is to combine Qi and the heart-consciousness in oneself, to throw a bridge of awareness and sensations from the energy level of reality to the spiritual one. For example, in the practice of Tao Yin, it is very difficult to remember the third aspect of inner work, which is associated with the nature of the heart. The brain simply melts from trying to be aware of not only the movements of the physical body, but also the circulation of Qi and the connection with the Supreme Primordial. But this is a very useful workout!

In Tao Yin, work with the heart nature seems insignificant, since such practice is hardly noticeable. After stretching, the body hurts and we feel a certain result. After active work with Qi, we can also feel a rather bright result - we become warm, light, feel puffed up, as if we were a shriveled balloon, and after class, our body seems to be bursting with internal Qi. But it is most difficult to feel changes at the level of the heart and consciousness. Therefore, the perfection of the heart nature takes a very long time.

But it is the connection of the body and Qi with the spirit that lays the foundation for the subsequent active spiritual development! Therefore, do not neglect the aspects of cultivating the heart nature even in the simplest beginner-level exercises!

Unity we practice as the unity of internal and external, as well as the unity of our body, Qi and heart nature. Both aspects of training are important! And in my opinion, it is much easier to feel the unity of the inner and the outer than the unity within oneself 🙂 How often do our thoughts, feelings and actions completely differ and tear us apart? If your practice is successful, then this chaos will dissolve and your life will become happier.

The second principle of Taoist thinking is non-action. It manifests itself in all Taoist practices, first of all, in the fact that at the beginning you start the practice and direct it, and then your task is to let go of control and allow the practice to direct you. For example, when performing simple accumulative breathing, when you inhale Qi and direct it to the lower dan tian, as your consciousness calms down, your breathing becomes slow and barely noticeable, everything is done by itself. At a certain stage, it begins to seem that it is not you who breathe, but Qi itself enters you, inflating your lungs and filling your energy structure.

To achieve this effect, you need to learn how to empty your mind and heart. Do not try to control the process, but do not lose awareness! Just follow. In those exercises where there is body movement, as you master the exercise, you will feel that the body begins to move by itself and moreover, sometimes you can feel that Qi makes you perform movements that were not originally incorporated in the exercise. It is important not to fall into self-deception here. Try to follow this spontaneous movement and watch what happens. If after such a movement you feel somewhere the flow of Qi, which suddenly turned on or some changes occur in consciousness, then most likely you did the right thing, following the inner impulse. But for greater certainty, of course, you should consult with the teacher.

In order to embody Non-Action at the level of the heart nature, you will have to get rid of pride and dissolve your ego. This will take many years, but this does not make the realization of non-action in everyday life any less significant.

I think one of the main mistakes of practitioners, in which they contradict the principle of Non-Doing, is setting goals and creating plans in their practice. Of course, you need to have a common direction. But setting a goal, like I will practice every day for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening for a month, is nonsense! Even if you have enough willpower and energy reserves to do this, you can go too far and exhaust yourself so much that you will then recover without practicing for a long period of time.

It is better to practice 30 minutes every day than a month for 2 hours, and then not practice for a month. Many processes that are launched by Taoist practitioners require a large amount of time. When you stop your practice, you put out the stove and the soup will have to be started again when you resume your practice!

So I recommend cultivating modesty in yourself, not chasing the result. Listen to yourself and respond to the current situation. For example, yesterday I did not sleep until 3 o'clock in the morning. Then I went to bed and I couldn't sleep. At this time, it began to snow and I literally physically felt the silence and fabulousness of what was happening on the street. I wanted an internal renewal and I stood in the pole. With great pleasure and without any tension, I stood for about an hour in a pole, without even noticing the time, and when it began to get light outside, I went to bed.

Learn to feel, synchronize yourself with yourself and with what is happening in the outside world. Even if you think that you have a weak intuition, that you are not a sensitive person, listen anyway! Mindfulness and sensitivity develop and you will succeed!

The third principle of Taoist thinking is Harmony. The sky takes away where there is a lot, and gives where there is little. You should do the same as Heaven in everything!

Performing energy practices, we constantly use this principle when we withdraw muddy Qi and create a void that is independently filled with external Qi. Harmony should be restored in the body, balancing movement and rest, food and hunger, heat and cold, rest and work.

And at the level of the heart and consciousness, one should dissolve one's obscurations and delusions, cultivate detachment and modesty, and cultivate virtuous qualities.

Everyone violates the Principle of Harmony 🙁 Under the influence of selfish desires, we constantly create problems for ourselves by continuing to accumulate Yin and waste Yang. Therefore, to implement the principle of Harmony, it is worth actively using two other principles - Cultivation of Yang and Devastation of Yin.

I would also like to add that despite the types of Taoist practices that you practice, pay attention to the following:

  • When you are engaged in Taoist practices for the sake of magic, in order to learn how to perform any miracles, heal people, get the experience of leaving the soul from the body, walk on water, fly, etc. , instead of cultivating Yang, you accumulate Yin. And this leads to a violation of the principle of Harmony, which means that you create difficulties for yourself, which sooner or later will become an obstacle for you on the Path.
  • If you are attached to results and only work for them, then you are attached to gain and loss. This means that you accumulate Yin and violate Harmony. What else can you do for? At the initial stage, it is quite normal to use our desires for motivation in studies, but it is worth gradually dissolving them and improving for the sake of curiosity and the process itself, to realize that this is our Original nature.
  • If you tend to visualize and control your practice, then you are violating the principle of non-doing. And an attempt to control is nothing more than a rejection of reality and a passion for one's selfish desires (which also violates Harmony).
  • If you like to compare your experience of practice with other people, love to learn new practices, chase teachings and novelty, then you are at the mercy of the mechanical mind. It's the same when people travel to many countries, go to many restaurants, buy a bunch of new clothes, and so on. All this superficial craving for consumerism takes you away from the real and deep, and it is in simplicity. More attention should be paid to the Depletion of Yin.
  • If you often mix practices of different systems of self-development, love experiments, love logic and rational mind, on the one hand, it seems to be okay 🙂 Children are also curious and also constantly experiment and explore the outside world and themselves. But to be carried away by the external means not to improve in the internal. Simplicity and purification of the mind from defilements can help you advance on the Path.
  • If you think that practice, work, life must be hard, it is because you are afraid to live in your own way, according to your nature. When you live “your life”, there is nothing hard in it. But you need to decide on this, find the courage in yourself to let go of rational rules and control and begin to follow the circumstances and your own nature, and not your ego, your fears, patterns and obscurations.

Many, seduced by the will, fall into the trap of fear to give it up, let go of control, and stop managing the world around them. Manipulation owns the manipulator himself - having learned to cheat with the world, in the end, a person falls into self-deception, because he does not see himself. His focus is outward, and he loses sight of himself and his contact with others. It becomes almost impossible for him to allow himself to become vulnerable, to succumb to the influence of the surrounding world in order to connect with it and engage in cooperation, gradually returning to Unity.

As Einstein said, most problems are unsolvable at the level of thinking at which they were created. If the tree dries, water the root, not rub the leaves! That is, it is necessary to move towards the Source. The solution to all problems should be sought at a more subtle, stronger, abstract and fundamental level, which is simpler and more united - then the solution will be faster, easier, safer and more elegant.

The world is co-existent (joint being leads to the fact that everything that happens is connected with each other, since the world is one) and in order to correspond to things, one must not make the world the object of one’s thoughts, but open one’s heart, sympathizing with all the changes from the middle . The sage does not control external events and does not passively go with the flow, but follows the rudiments of change, that which has not yet manifested itself! Creativity manifests itself in the process of manifestation of what has not yet been manifested, but it does not contradict the natural course of things, but only gives them a form.

In order to follow things, it is necessary to abandon the division of the world into object and subject. It is worth proceeding from the unity of all Being, besides this, it is absolutely necessary to influence the unmanifested (that which forms the future form), anticipating events (returning to the Source) and emptying oneself so as not to become dependent on subsequent born things and events.

The path is the road back to the unity of things between which there are no boundaries, which are like a web of connections and correspondences. Any event on the Path is a co-existence (the joint existence of things), which ultimately embraces all that exists. The Path is the point of change between Existence and Non-Being (the highest middle point), it is not a person's choice, but his acceptance and unconditional adherence to internal changes, which are reflected in the outside world belatedly.

And finally, a good quote about the principle of Unity:

Wengzi asked: Why are humanity, justice and courtesy considered less important than the virtue of Tao?

Lao Tzu replied: Those who deliberately practice humanity always see it in terms of sadness and happiness, and those who deliberately practice justice always see it in terms of loss and gain. Someone's sadness or someone's happiness cannot be extended to all who live within the four seas; material wealth and money in depleted treasuries will not be enough to provide for all people.

Therefore, we know that it is better to practice the Tao and put its virtues into action. Based on the true nature of heaven and earth, all living beings correct themselves and the world is perfected. Humanity and justice are dependent and secondary. Therefore, great people live by what is deep, and not by what is superficial.

Treatise of Wen Tzu, excerpt 155

To realize Unity in your life - look not for a compromise, but for a comprehensive idea that will unite opposites! Follow the unity of things and you will be happy. After all, any event means that you coexist, live together with the whole world. And by trying to fight the events, you thereby separate yourself from them, depriving yourself of Unity. Do not fight, change what has not yet shown itself.

Recently I was thinking about the idea of how to lose weight in Taoist style 🙂 According to the principle of non-doing, one should not seek profit, but avoid harm. Thus, you do not fight with what is already there, but change what is not yet there. That is, you should not try to lose weight, but try not to gain even more weight. It is much easier to get rid of the weight that you have not gained yet than the one that is already there (manifested). This means that you should perform those actions that will prevent weight gain, and the principle of Harmony will do the rest. I will experiment with this and when the result appears, I will definitely write an article about it 🙂
