Crafts from quail eggs. Crafts from eggs

Children are very fond of crafts made from natural materials. Firstly, it is pleasant to work with them, and secondly, they are accessible to everyone. Cones, acorns, pebbles, shells, various plants and their seeds - everything is in use!

On the eve of Easter, do-it-yourself crafts from empty eggs and eggshells become especially relevant. Eggs can make very original crafts - a parrot, a piglet, a fish - that will delight your baby with the opportunity to apply their skills in business. There is always material for this activity in the refrigerator, but you will find some ideas for creativity in this article!

Children's craft "Chicken from an egg"

  1. To make these chickens, we need a few raw eggs, scissors, yellow knitting threads, pva glue, a brush and wooden skewers. If you do not know how to pierce an egg for crafts, then keep in mind: this is very easy to do. Take a thin needle and gently pierce it first on one side and then on the other. Then blow out the liquid contents and wash and dry the empty egg before making the craft.
  2. Finely cut the threads (5-10 mm, depending on the desired length of the plumage).
  3. Completely coat the egg with glue using a brush.
  4. Sprinkle it on all sides with cut threads, gently pressing so that they stick well.
  5. Insert a skewer into the hole at the bottom of the egg. If the hole is too large, you can coat the joint with glue so that the chicken sits firmly on the skewer.
  6. Glue the beady eyes and red cardboard beaks on the chickens. For “boys”, make tufts from threads, and for “girls” - bows from satin ribbon. With such chickens, you can decorate the Easter table or the children's room for Bright Week.

Crafts from eggs for the little ones

A small child aged 1 to 2 years will also not refuse such an interesting activity as creating crafts from eggs with his own hands. Give him such an opportunity: let the baby decorate the egg on his own with the help of cereals.

  1. First, boil the paste (take 1 tablespoon of flour for 1 glass of water and cook until the mass becomes thick and sticky). In principle, it can also be replaced with PVA glue, but the paste, as you understand, is much safer for a child who may want to taste his craft.
  2. Pour the paste into one plate, and pour cereals into others: wheat, millet, semolina, etc. It is better to use small cereals, they will better stick to the smooth surface of the egg.
  3. Show your child how to hold the egg correctly so that it does not fall (of course, the eggs must be boiled). Let the baby dip the testicle first into the paste, and then into the grits.
  4. In semolina, since it is white, you can add a little food coloring or sparkles, but this is not at all necessary: it will be interesting for children to work with cereals anyway.
  5. Crafts can be decorated in different ways. For example, the middle (widest) part of the egg can be wrapped with threads and, holding them, dip in different cereals on both sides. Then set the craft aside to dry properly.
  6. You can also draw funny faces on eggshells and even come up with an interesting fairy tale about Easter egg men with your child.

Do you like scrambled eggs in the morning or do you often indulge in homemade pastries? In this case, you always have the most valuable material at home - eggshells, from which you can create real masterpieces!

A variety of eggshell crafts are made by very young craftsmen and venerable artists. They are constantly popular at exhibitions of arts and crafts. Due to the availability and environmental friendliness of the material, this hobby is a must-try for everyone who is looking for a new activity. Having mastered the wisdom of technology, you can fill the house with new decor items, and joint evenings with children will no longer be boring and monotonous.

Chinese carving and Easter traditions

It is difficult to say how long ago masters and artists began to use eggshells in their work. With a high degree of probability, this is due to the tradition of decorating Easter eggs, which exists among many peoples of the world.

Some sources say that the art of eggshell carving originated in ancient China. In this country, where it was believed that the world came from an egg, it was customary to give elegant eggs for weddings, birthdays and other holidays. Museums in China store "egg" works dating back to the 13th-15th centuries.

Thanks to modern technology, the eggshell has become more "sophisticated". Today's tools allow you to transfer the conceived pattern to a rounded surface with microscopic accuracy.

However, along with "high art", eggshells are used for simple children's crafts and surface decoration.

What can be made from egg shells

Eggshells are best used to make ... eggs. Of course, not simple, but almost golden. On Easter, of course, they give real boiled eggs. But if you want to preserve beauty, then you can work hard and create something original. For decor, use mother-of-pearl and gilding. Or paint on the surface of a white egg.

A new trend in egg art is embroidery. You can embroider, or with other techniques. The resulting work delights and surprises.

Embroidery ribbons

Eggshells can be used as miniature flower pots for succulents or grass. It is pleasant to receive such an original bouquet not only for Easter.

Craft ideas for children's creativity

Another holiday solution: eggshell crafts for kids. Christmas toys for the Christmas tree are an interesting alternative to toys from the store. It can be figures of various animals, birds, fish, cartoon characters. The shape itself in the form of a volumetric elongated ball suggests a solution.

For example, if you glue a cap on PVA with a cone, blush your cheeks, draw eyes and glue a paper ruffled collar on the bottom, you get a clown. On a string and on a Christmas tree.
If you cut out fins and a magnificent tail, draw gills and bulging eyes, decorate with sparkles, rhinestones or gold paint, you will get a magic fish from a fairy tale.

Piglet in front, and behind the tail with a ringlet - a piglet. This can be done with plasticine.

If you use an acrylic contour for hard surfaces and draw a beautiful openwork pattern, glue beads, beads, a clasp for jewelry, you will get a more sophisticated Christmas tree decoration.

Mosaic and decoupage

Egg shells are very popular among craftsmen. Instead of laborious and unpredictable craquelure lacquer, cracked shells are used to simulate cracks. The fragments are glued to the surface of the item to be decorated with PVA glue, adjusting the individual parts so that the gaps are as thin as possible.

The dried surface is painted with acrylic or primed. Then, napkins and pictures are glued onto the shell prepared in this way. Finish the necessary details and varnish for protection. Such a thing is not afraid of wet cleaning.

Another option for using broken shells is. To make a panel, the surface of the product is degreased, primed and painted, if necessary. Draw the drawing with a pencil. The prepared shell is painted with gouache or acrylic paints in various colors and, after drying, is laid out according to the applied pattern. Use PVA glue or rubber glue. The finished product is covered with a glossy varnish for beauty and so that it can be washed without the risk of spoiling.

If small children who do not have the skill of working with glue are engaged in mosaics, then it is better to use plasticine. For example, smear a thin layer of plasticine on the surface of a paper plate. Use a stack or stick to outline the image. And already along this contour, glue the particles of the shells, pressing them into the plasticine.

This mosaic technique can be used in paintings, decorating vases and dishes, making souvenir plates, photo and picture frames, and updating old furniture.

Preparatory work

In order for a self-made thing to please for a long time, you need to know how to prepare eggshells for crafts and mosaics.

For three-dimensional figures in the whole egg, two holes are pierced on opposite sides with a thick needle or awl. Then the contents are blown out, and the shell is washed in warm water. Having slightly expanded the hole, pour PVA glue or acrylic varnish inside for strength.

Varnish or glue is needed in such a volume that it spreads over the inner surface and fastens small cracks. In this case, the egg must be turned in different directions. After drying with an egg it is possible to work.

For mosaics, large pieces of the shell are placed between two sheets of paper and rolled with a rolling pin. Remove the film from the cracked shell, which is located on the inside of the egg. The resulting small shells are washed in warm water and dried. You can cover with colored acrylic paints or gouache.

From kindergarten to gray hair

Shell crafts are an affordable type of creativity for children from an early age. Fine motor skills of hands, imagination and fantasy develop. A little man, when working with three-dimensional objects, masters spatial connections better. Therefore, classes related to such accessible material as eggshells can be recommended to mothers and grandmothers who work with children at home.

By the way, older needlewomen love this material also because it is available in everyday life, unlike highly artistic components. This hobby is in the lead!

Speaking of which, high-quality paintings using shells can be sold in specialized stores and on the Internet, including in our group on Odnoklassniki.

Good afternoon, today I decided to upload a selection of eggshell craft ideas. Here you will find the easiest and most interesting egg crafts suitable for kids. They are easy to make with your own hands for children, if adults help them a little. The crafts below can be taken for a creative competition in kindergarten and school. You can create table theaters from egg crafts (this will be discussed below). And of course, decorate the festive table for the bright holiday of Easter. All this will be discussed in our article.

So, let's see what eggshell crafts you can make.

Idea #1

Nest with birds.

We take wrapping paper and cut it into small narrow strips, we crumple this paper cut - and from such dry blades of grass we form a nest. Glue the beak and wings onto the eggshell. We draw eyes.

This the simplest crafts from eggs, available for young children. Unless, of course, you convince them in advance not to test empty eggs for strength, not to push with your finger and not to squeeze with your palm.

And here's a little trick for you (see the photo below). On sale there are eggs large and smallish. If you buy both sizes, you can small ones painted yellow, leave large white. And then insert yellow dyed ones into large white shells and arrange it like yellow chicks hatched from white eggs.

Can this idea of chicks be developed and add mother hen. We make chickens from eggs painted yellow - we put them in a cassette from eggs. We sculpt a chicken from salt dough - dry it in the oven - decorate with gouache. And we sit behind the chickens from the eggs. We decorate the craft with green grass (cut green paper, or green threads). Add watercolor feathers from the pillow.

You can have cockerels in a chicken family. With a comb made of paper and a fluffy tail. Strips of paper for the tail are cut with scissors and twisted around a cylindrical object (bottle, hairspray can).

QUESTION: What kind of glue to stick the paper to the eggshell?

ANSWER: PVA glue is suitable (stationery or construction anyway, the composition is the same, only the second is 2 times cheaper).

DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE is also suitable - this is the best way to keep the paper on the shell.

You can use pieces of egg cartons. We cut out a cell from the cassette holder and play with its shape in order to bring it closer to something similar to a bird.

A chicken craft made of eggs can be decorated with PLASTILINE details. Sculpt the scallop, beak and paws. If you make cockerels, then you can also fashion a tail out of plasticine (from a thin, lightweight plasticine plate). And cockerels can be put on high legs (make holes in the bottom of the shell and insert cocktail tubes) - or without holes, simply attach the tubes to plasticine.

Another great idea is to buy small QUAIL EGGS in the store. Their size is just right for baby chickens. It is necessary to paint the quail shells yellow. And plant these little eggs inside big chicken shells. It will turn out a chicken family - a rooster, a hen and babies that have just hatched from an egg shell.

Idea #2

BIRDS from eggs.

And other birds can also be made from eggshells - TOUCANES, PARROTS, PEACOCKS, PENGUINS, BUNNIES, TITTS.

These are the owls you get if you decorate their shells into different painting zones. And decorate the boundaries between the zones with beads (for beauty and contrast). And if you don’t have the strength to mess around with beads (we’re not Faberge with you), then you can decorate the borders of the zone with DOTS with a simple THICK MARKER, stick it and that’s it - we’ll get the same bead effect only cheaper and faster.

Then add eye stickers, and stick the wings behind (everything is perfectly attached to the double-sided tape).

Or the egg craft owl design could be simpler. It looks quite nice if the owl's wings have patterned colors (cut out from a piece of wallpaper, or gift wrapping). It is also beautiful when the eyes are shaped like a flower with petals. Owl legs from eggs can be molded from plasticine or cut out of thick cardboard or thick felt.

Crafts from eggs.

Idea #3

DESK THEATER.

If you take cardboard rolls and insert an egg into the upper bell of the roll. Then we will get a blank for the tabletop theater character. You can take a roll already prepared - from toilet paper - and wrap it with colored paper. And then decorate our character

Depending on the color and design of the egg and paper roll, we get a GREEN frog, a SPOTTY cow, a BROWN dog, a YELLOW chicken, etc. (see photo of egg crafts below).

You can make any characters from eggs. Try to make them look like mussel personalities and tear up small TV shows in the table theater.

Instead of cardboard rolls, you can use ready-made plastic egg stands (as in the photo of crafts below).

You can find small plastic cups for sale and use them as a basis for theatrical crafts.

Egg shells for egg crafts can be painted with GOUCHE and then covered with nail polish or sprinkled with hairspray - this will make the color BRIGHTER and the surface of the egg will become shiny and smooth like plastic.

From eggs, you can make crafts on Christmas themes (as in the photo below).

You can act out your favorite fairy tales by preparing special scenery for the character. In such an interesting environment, your children will play their crafts with hot delight.

You can make a tropical island - populate it with animals from hot countries. Make one character each evening… your child will be intrigued as to which animal will be next and will look forward to creative get-togethers with colored paper, a hard-working mom and a gambling dad.

But below I liked the idea where the double-sided egg cassette turns into an island zone and a sea zone. And from the eggs we make crafts-characters inhabiting the earth's firmament and the depths of the sea (photo below). A very original and long-lasting egg craft for children.

Idea number 4. Crafts from eggs

with fluffy wire.

And here is another idea that fluffy wire can be an additional visual tool for making eggshell crafts. From fluffy wire it is good to make tails for mice, cats and pigs. Wire brushes can be the tentacles of a crab, or eyes on the legs of a snail and the same crab.

Here are some more springs that are used as paws and ears of hares.

Idea #5

HARES from the shell.

And here is a cheerful family of white rabbits. White rabbits with pink ears are the cutest egg craft. Ordinary felt-tip pens help draw a muzzle, and the ears are made of paper.

You can depict a bunny by placing an egg on a barrel - stick it on a cardboard backing, and stick a muzzle in front - a nose made of plasticine or a decorative pom-pom.

Short pieces of plastic tubes (or strips of paper twisted into a tight tube) can serve as a stand for such egg crafts - the legs are attached to hot glue or plasticine, or double-sided tape (left craft in the photo below).

A low cardboard ring can serve as a stand for a hare (right photo below).

Details for an eggshell hare can be cut out of colored felt. It turns out a bright elegant craft for children.

Idea #6

shell animals

Crafts for children from eggs most often depict animals - forest or domestic. Here are some cute eggshell pigs. Piglets are best made from dark eggs, from pockmarked hens.

But we make a cow from a white shell and draw spots on it with a black marker.

In black and white colors, crafts from eggs look beautiful - PENGUIN and PANDA.

I also like tricks with bug-eyed crafts. Bulging eyes on egg crafts look good not only on frogs, but also on cockerels and bunnies.

Crafts from broken shells.

If your shells are damaged, then this is not a reason to cry - this is the first step towards a new egg craft idea.

Here are some original crafts for children from shells with a damaged barrel that you can come up with.

Egg plugs.

FOR BOYS.

All boys will love the divers theme.

You can make a pot-bellied egg craft submarine. And make several enemy boats that will lie at different depths of your underwater world, made from a TV box.

You can make a sea out of blue cellophane and launch a toothy shark into it.

You can also build a flying saucer from a basin and populate it with little green men. Cute aliens with three eyes will be your little boys' favorite toys for a long time.

And girls enjoy playing egg town. Little Kinder Surprise dolls will walk the streets of such a cozy town and have picnics in cozy backyard gardens.

And girls love cats. If we make Kitty's head with a white egg and put it on a cardboard roll (like the aliens from the photo above), then we will get a favorite toy for your daughter.

AND ALSO in an egg you can poke a neat hole into it pour liquid wax from a candle and insert wand- so we get a theatrical craft on a stick. And it will be possible to act out performances of the puppet-egg theater behind a screen, holding the character on a stick (photo below). Kids really like this craft for children, they are happy to play with such toys on sticks.

And thanks to the hardened wax inside the shell, such a craft will be even stronger and more durable.

SPRING CRAFTS from eggs.

The spring season is rich in Easter egg crafts. Therefore, eggshells have become the subject of festive decor during the Easter season.

You can turn on your ingenuity yourself and come up with your own spring egg crafts. In the meantime, I'll show you the ones I found.

Here are shell-vases for miniature bouquets of spring flowers - crocuses, coltsfoot, snowdrops, primroses.

You can insert a straw for a cocktail into an eggshell. And wrap the egg in crepe paper. And we get tulip on a stem. Add juicy green leaves and form a spring craft-bouquet of eggs.

Can you put it on eggshells? petal skirts (photo below) and also arrange a spring bouquet of eggs. This egg craft is suitable for children 5 years old. We fold a sheet of paper into a triangle as for cutting out a snowflake - but instead of snowflake patterns, we draw 2 oval petals (heart) on it and give it to the child. He cuts out the petals and cuts off the central corner of the folded triangle along a rounded line. Expand and get a petal circle with a hole for putting on an egg.

Skirts with petals can be cut out of felt - this material is lighter than cardboard and bright in color.

You can make a series of cacti from eggs. A great egg craft available for children is to simply paint the eggs with green gouache and paint the needles with white paint.

Here are some ideas with crafts from empty egg shells.

Good luck with your creativity.

Olga Klishevskaya, specially for the site

We all use eggs on a regular basis for cooking various dishes, and the shells are usually thrown away without thinking. This is not entirely correct, because eggshells can be used to create cute and beautiful projects that are amazing and fragile.
To make crafts from eggshells, you will need: eggshells, acrylic paints, cardboard, decorative paper, superglue, moss or colored rice, and maybe some other little things.
Eggshell Crafts - Flower Vases and Pots
Use the eggshells as tiny flower vases, but be extra careful when breaking the egg. Try making a few holes in the top and carefully open the shell. Glue an empty egg to a small mirror or other surface using a wax candle. Then pour some water there and put a flower.
Using only half of the shell, you can make a small pot for your favorite succulents.

It will be very good if you manage to break the egg into two parts quite carefully. Make as many shell pots as you need, preferably enough to fill an egg carton. Then add soil, tiny succulents and you have your own cute little garden.
For the next project, you will need some raw eggs, small to medium silk flowers, PVC pipes and a saw, a hot glue gun, glass beads and dry moss. Make a hole in the top of the egg and open the shell a little. Cut off a piece from the PVC pipe. Then glue the resulting ring to the bottom of the shell with “hot” glue and let it grab a little. For extra weight, place a glass bead in each shell. Then add flowers and moss.
An interesting way to place such beautiful vases and flower pots can be hanging option - braid these cute macrame pots and hang on the wall. Everything is very simple, you can tie an eggshell exactly according to its size with ordinary macrame threads. If you want, you can paint fragile vases in different colors.

Eggshell Crafts - Coasters
Another idea is to use egg coasters to make great creative ideas look good and sustainable. First, make a hole in the top of the egg and remove the contents. Then put small flowers there and secure in the selected stand. These cute flower arrangements will look great in the kitchen and elsewhere in the house. You can also use them as holiday table decorations.

After you have made a vase of flowers out of the shell, you can place it in a small cup. Use moss to make the composition look nice and stand up straight, add some water and tiny flowers. Use to decorate your dining table.
You can grow grass in these pots. This little thing will add freshness and beauty to the interior of the room, regardless of the season. You can install several identical pots in an egg carton. It is especially convenient to germinate grass for a cat in this way, which she likes to chew.

If you want to involve children in creativity, then perhaps this project is just what you need. This idea is similar to the previous one, but this time they glued eyes on the shell, and the pots began to look funny and cute, like little people.

You can let the children decorate these pots themselves, but they must be very careful, because this is a shell, and it is a rather fragile material.

Eggshell Crafts - Candles
Make candles with your own hands in a rather unusual way. Let such tea candles be located right in the eggshell. It's really simple.
You make a wider hole in the top of the egg and then pour in the melted wax. Don't forget to put in the wick. You can set these candles in a stand or make a stand for small candles using the same melted wax.

Eggshell crafts are very popular for Easter decorations in the first place, but if the holiday is already over and the shell is available, why not put it to good use.

Here much depends on your imagination.
