The better to smear a tattoo. How to care for a tattoo in the early days and until complete healing

You were tattooed, bandaged and sent home. Many people think that at this stage the manufacture of the tattoo is over, but this is far from the case. It depends on how the healing will take place and how long the colors on your tattoo will remain bright, how blurred the contours of the pattern will be and whether bald spots will appear, where the paint will fall off with sores and scars will remain.

Healing (5-7 days) is 30-40% of the final production-becoming of a tattoo. After all, the pigment that was applied under your skin is, in fact, a foreign body for the body, and how well further implantation will take place depends on you (and not just on the tattoo master).

I always tell my clients:

 • You, firstly: came and spent your time;
 • Secondly: paid money;
 • Thirdly: endured this pain. Have respect for yourself and see things through (take care of your tattoo carefully during the healing period).

And so: you got a tattoo and made a bandage on it. Note: not stupidly smeared "Vaseline" and wrapped with cling film, and washed "Chlorhexidine - *water-based", smeared with expensive ointment with anesthesia so that the pain would calm down as soon as possible and sealed with an absorbent bandage with which you will sleep more comfortably at night than with a film from under which everything flows onto the bed.

Appreciate it! No need to rip off the bandage immediately, upon arrival home, to show a new tattoo to loved ones. This step can cost you dearly. Firstly: no matter how you treat the tattoo and smear it, the ichor (Leukocytes - fighting infection) will continue to ooze anyway. And it can last up to two days (!). Not only are you tormented by wiping it constantly and you can bring an infection, but the paint will also leak out. As I wrote above, the pigment under the skin is a foreign body for the body and therefore it seeks to get rid of the pigment. The result - the tattoo will be much paler, because, as you understand, the pigment under the skin will remain a third less. From the leaked ichor, sores can form, which, with your movements (and, accordingly, stretching and contraction of the skin in the tattoo area), will crack and a new ichor will again ooze from these cracks and dry out, thickening the sores. As a result, such a sore can fall off along with the paint, and not only will the tattoo be bald, but there will still be scars on the skin. The above happens in the same way - if the tattoo is not smeared during the healing process. It may also turn out that after healing on the tattoo, the skin will always peel off and give the picture a pale appearance. If such a tattoo is wetted, it will become bright and clear, and when the skin and husks and dead skin cells dry, the pattern will again become matte. Therefore, in order to show off a new tattoo, you can take a picture of it before they cover it with a bandage and ask the tattoo artist to throw it off "In contact with"(if the master photographed the tattoo himself).

We return to proper care: in the morning they removed the bandage (with clean hands) wetted "Chlorhexidine"* water based cotton pad and wiped the tattoo, the disk is dirty - we take a new one, thoroughly wash off everything that has dried up overnight on the skin (paint and ichor). I explain why this is done. Many tattoo artists advise washing a fresh tattoo with warm water and soap. I think this is not advisable, because there are a lot of bacteria and infections in water and soap, and warm water can soak the tattoo so that the ichor will again begin to flow with renewed vigor, “knocking out” the pigment from under the skin. Therefore, I advise you to carefully wipe "Chlorhexidine"(and don't be fooled by the cheapness of this drug. This is the strongest antiseptic that eliminates the infection no worse than alcohol. "Chlorhexidine" treat the skin even before the most complex strip operations).

Next, we blot with a dry disk, remove the moist environment from the tattoo area, wait five minutes (dry). Then we apply ointment (the best for a tattoo "Bepanthen Plus Cream» ) with a thin layer so that the ointment would wind-dry as soon as possible and form a protective film of cream under which the healing of the tattoo will begin and, most importantly, the body will stop secreting the ichor (if droplets of the ichor begin to seep onto the tattoo again, then they must be collected with a cotton pad and this dry the place again and then spread it, because it is from these droplets that sores are formed under which nothing heals and scars can even form after the sores fall off along with the paint).

I explain the importance of the ointment film. If, for example, your tattoo is on your shoulder, then by raising your hand, you thereby stretch the skin in the fresh tattoo area. Namely, the elastic film of the cream will allow the skin to stretch and tighten without tears, cracks and pain. If the tattoo on the shoulder is not smeared or the ointment is rubbed off on clothes, then the tattoo will crack from stretching. At first, these will be micro-cracks, into which the ichor will leak and dry out and form a sore, then according to the scheme I described above. If during such a movement you feel pain in the area of a fresh tattoo, the next day after the tattoo session. So the ointment either rubbed off on the skin or stopped working. Carry the tube with you (on the first day) and smear the tattoo as soon as discomfort appears.

I’ll explain right away why I advise everyone "Bepanthen Plus Cream". As they say - tested on yourself. After long sessions of tattooing my back, I tried many ointments on myself and came to the conclusion that the vaseline base of all ointments is not very suitable for healing, because if you apply a little, the ointment quickly wipes off on clothes and there is a danger of skin microtears. You smear a lot - there is an unpleasant feeling that the tattoo was wrapped in a film. The skin asks to “breathe”, there is some kind of irritation and a desire to erase it all.

And when you rub "Bepanthen Plus", then the sensations are such that the ointment really heals, because at first, the skin stings quietly for about five minutes, then everything got warmer and after a while you forgot that you have a fresh tattoo there and calmly go about your business, because in "Bepanthene Plus" have anesthesia.

Further, before putting on “HB” clothes (not synthetics, not wool from which you will immediately get irritation on the tattoo), smear the tattoo with a thick ointment and put on (for example, if you have a tattoo on your shoulder) a cotton T-shirt. This is a kind of bandage bandage, under which the skin "breathes" and everything heals quickly.

The second night you also need to sleep in a T-shirt - because turning over in bed from side to side at night, you thereby wipe the ointment from the tattoo on the bed linen and as a result it may turn out that there is no ointment left on the tattoo at all and an ichor will flow, which can dry out the tattoo will stick to the sheet, and in the morning, tearing the sheet away from you, you will be very surprised by the strong redness in the tattoo area.

Can you wash?

It is best to wash before you go to get a tattoo, so that later you can do without a shower less painlessly and not wash for two days, at least, but preferably three. It’s just that this film, which is formed from the ointment, can get wet, the water in the infection will get into a fresh tattoo and the ichor will flow again. Therefore, I advise you to do so. If you are “impatient” to wash every other day and you are not afraid of the prospect of getting a “Zonovsky partak” instead of a tattoo due to complications during healing, then smear thickly with ointment, seal with cling film and wash in the shower with as cold water as possible. We went out, removed the film, carefully removed the excess ointment "Chlohexidine"(not blurring the tattoo, but only wiping it) and smeared it with ointment.

If on the third day you start washing, then you can simply smear the tattoo with a thick layer of ointment (and not necessarily "Bepanten", but you can use "Baby Cream" or "Petrolatum". You wash yourself under a cool shower, but don’t wash your tattoo, where water “rolls down” like from an oily surface. We got out of the shower, wiped off the excess "Chlorhexidine" and smeared with a thin layer "Bepanten". Further, after the tattoo heals. I would advise you, at first, always moisturize the tattoo with “baby cream” after washing. And the first two months - do not rub with a washcloth.

The tattoo heals on average 5-7 days. The husk “flies” (as if the skin would peel off a couple of weeks after you were burned in the sun). Or sores fall off (if you didn’t take care of it correctly). Try not to pick with your nails (although as a rule you really want to - I understand). Wait a couple of days, because the "chunk" of the husk can still hold on due to the fact that everything under it has not completely healed and tearing it off, you will create a wound that will then heal for a long time. After a couple of days, the husk itself will begin to fall off as soon as you touch the tattoo with your hand or clothing. On pastel linen as well, there can be a lot after sleep. Try, that part of the skin from which the husk has flown around (or if you have torn it off) - immediately smear "Bepanten". Otherwise, if at this stage you stop smearing the tattoo, then secondary peeling may form (the same peel, only microscopic) - in which the tattoo will be with a matte coating, which, if the tattoo is wetted, will immediately become bright, and as soon as it dries, the drawing will turn pale again .

If in the tattoo area or nearby - during healing or after, there will be: itching, small pimples, redness, etc. This means that your body does not quite react correctly to the pigment under the skin (a kind of allergy to a tattoo). It is treated simply. Buy ointment "Akriderm Genta" and smear for several days until the above symptoms disappear.

* Note - "water-based". There are two types of "Chlorhexidine" alcohol based and water based, you need water based.

Probably, in the world there are the same number of methods for treating a new tattoo as there are tattoo artists. If your tattoo treatment method suits you, then just read this article, maybe it will allow you to improve the process.

1 Wear a bandage for 1-4 hours. Remove the bandage and gently wash the tattoo.
After the tattoo is completed, the tattoo artist must clean the tattoo area. Gently lubricate the tattoo with a thin layer of ointment (it is advisable to use A&D ointment C Vitamins A and D ointment, retinol ointment or D-Panthenol) and apply a bandage (made of cotton or using a plastic film). Leave the bandage on for at least one hour, but no more than four hours. Rinse the tattoo with clean running water.

Submerge the tattoo site under warm water or soak in a bathtub with warm water. Warm water opens the pores, allowing excess mascara to be washed out of the wound. The skin will burn a little, it's not scary. Use a mild soap like Dove for washing. Gently wash the tattoo with soap and water until you feel that the mucous layer has completely washed off. The place of tattooing after removal of soap, ointment and blood will become velvety soft to the touch. Now turn the water cooler to soothe irritated skin and tighten pores.

2. Pat dry, apply ointment. If necessary, bandage
Gently blot the tattoo with a dry, clean cloth or paper towel. Apply a thin layer of ointment to the tattoo. If you plan to stay at home, you can leave the tattoo open. If you feel swelling or soreness around your new tattoo, take ibuprofen or another pain reliever.

Treat the tattoo as gently as possible. If you plan to go to bed - wrap the tattoo with a film, so you can protect the tattoo from friction and bacteria. Note to the hostess: so that you don’t have to wash your laundry, put on pajamas or old clothes for the night.

Do not smear the tattoo with everything that comes to hand. Use the tools recommended by your master. Do not use ointments that contain antibiotics.

3. Apply a water-based lotion to avoid scabs.
Wash the tattoo again in the morning. Do it quickly and carefully. Do not wet the tattoo for a long time, and do not expose the tattoo under a strong stream of water. During this period, your body is already trying with might and main to protect and heal the wound. A crust may form on the damaged area of the skin, this is good, but do not allow this crust to thicken. Then you can no longer use the ointment. Now the skin should begin to cope with the wound itself, the skin should breathe and be at rest. Start treating the tattoo with a water-based lotion (Lubriderm, H2Ocean, etc.) Don't apply too much lotion. Apply in a thin layer to just dampen the damaged area. If there is no lotion at hand, lubricate with a very thin layer of D-Panthenol. Remember, excessive hydration of the skin can lead to poor healing.

You need to keep your tattoo moisturized for the next few days, so carry lotion with you. Wash the tattoo before the procedure. Repeat the procedure approximately 4 times a day, although the number of repetitions depends largely on skin type and climate. Moisturizing will prevent the appearance of excess scab. The tattoo should breathe, but if you are afraid of damaging the skin in your sleep, you can stick cling film on the tattoo at night.

4. What to avoid:
pool or and swimming in public places, hot tubs, sea/ocean - forget at least two weeks;
exercise and heavy sweating during the first week;
solarium or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for the healing period

5. Don't scratch or pick
After 4-7 days, your skin and crust will begin to peel off. It may even seem that mascara comes out in some places. This leaves an excess of pigment, and dead skin areas are separated. Don't worry, it won't affect your drawing. Fight the urge to scratch the tattoo or pick off the scab. Continue gently rinsing and moistening the tattoo. All unnecessary will come off by itself. Shaved at the tattoo site, the hair will begin to sprout, adding to your worries in the form of itching and irritation. Pet or lightly spank the area that is bothering you, this will slightly reduce anxiety.
. Do not shave or epilate the tattoo area until it is completely healed. You are almost at the finish line.

6. Be patient.
On average, the healing process takes from 10 days to a month. This is a very individual process, depending on the place of the tattoo, climate, skin type, etc. - A lot of factors affect the healing process. It takes at least a month for complete healing. The skin, like our entire body, is amazing and has amazing properties, you just need to let them tune in correctly. Colors, gradients and gray transitions will change slightly during the healing process, often, after healing, the tattoo becomes lighter or even brighter. After a couple of weeks of careful tattoo care, you may get really tired of it, but believe me, your care will be rewarded to you.

7. Take care of your skin
ANY pigment, ink or paint is destroyed by prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays. Tattoos are no exception. Avoid direct sunlight on your tattoos - using sunscreen is your responsibility from now on, unless of course you want to keep the colors of your tattoo. Even after everything has healed, your tattoo can be ruined by sunburn or sunburn. Remember that the tattoo itself is in the lower layers of the skin (dermis). The top layer (epidermis) is constantly updated and grows on the tattoo, due to which, over time, the tattoo fades. Over time, skin cells and ink particles deform, which can make the edges of the tattoo fuzzy. A tattoo is a part of your body and, therefore, its appearance depends on the natural changes in your body. Moisturizing your skin and protecting your skin from the sun will keep your skin looking decent for the rest of your life.

8. Problems
If pus has formed on the damaged area or other suspicious discharge has appeared, it is quite possible that you have brought an infection. Contact your master or doctor. As a rule, the use of Bacitracin can solve this problem in one day, but it is better to consult with experts. Feel free to consult with your master - he gets paid for this. If the tattoo needs to be corrected, do it after it has completely healed (point number 6)

9. And finally
Do not be lazy to visit your master after the tattoo has healed so that he can take a picture of it or send him a photo by email. Believe me, the tattoo artist wants to know what his work looks like. Remember, a tattoo artist's business in particular depends on their portfolio.

There are simple, but necessary rules for tattoo care that must be followed so that there are no complications.

The issue of proper tattoo care is especially important in the first couple of weeks from the moment of application. With proper care of the tattoo, during its healing, the loss of pigment does not exceed 10%.

So, it happened! .. You just got out of the tattoo parlor. Doubts and fears are behind, and the desired pattern is on your body. The first bandage made by the master has not yet been removed, it's time to learn how to take care of this fashionable acquisition. This article will help you understand the intricacies that contribute to the speedy healing and preservation of a tattoo.

As a rule, each master has his own recipe for tattoo care. It should be remembered that a professionally made tattoo does not pose a health hazard and, accordingly, does not cause any complications. After the master has finished his part of the work, the no less important function of consolidating and preserving what has been done is assigned to the customer himself. This is understandable, because it depends on the healing process how long and good the work will look. However, the general commandments of the beginner "tattooed" are simple and accessible.

The bandage applied by the master after tattooing should last from 3 to 12 hours, depending on the nature of the work. For a while, the skin around the drawing may be slightly sore and remain red. It is normal if the ichor is released at first. The main thing is to prevent the ingress of dirt and infection. At the end of the period set by the master, you should remove the bandage, wash the tattoo with Miramistin or warm water and soap with clean hands, then dry thoroughly (do not wipe, but get wet). Remember that alcohol solutions should not be applied to a fresh drawing, as this can disrupt the healing process. Then you need to apply a thin layer of the ointment recommended by the master (for example, "Bepanten" or "d-Panthenol").

During the healing of a tattoo, it should not be scratched, torn off the film, or picked. Sunbathing during the recovery period is strictly prohibited. Baths, saunas, baths, swimming in the pool, solariums - all these joys should be refrained from during skin regeneration. It should be remembered that tattoos fade from direct sunlight: after sunbathing with a fresh tattoo, you can notice that it will fade by several tones.

Be sure to exclude the ingress of dirt, but you can not glue or bandage the tattoo. It is recommended to wear loose clothing, preferably not silk or synthetics, to avoid possible allergic reactions. You should not expose yourself to heavy physical exertion or sports training during the first 3 days; and it is also necessary to exclude the use of alcohol during this time.

The first week, the tattoo looks loose and a little swollen. You should not be afraid - after peeling off the first layer, a white scaly mark remains on the surface of the pattern, which then also comes off. Usually the healing period is about five days, depending on the characteristics of the organism and the pattern.

Many ladies are concerned about the question of how long after tattooing can scrubs and peels be used on this area of the body. It turns out that already 10 days after the end of the work, it is not forbidden to apply all the usual skin care products.

There is no limit to perfection - it is quite possible that after some time you will want to “finish”, redo the tattoo. This is quite real, especially since the ideal work is not done in one session. A second visit to the master is scheduled 7-10 days after the first procedure to allow the wound to heal. If you don’t like the tattoo years after it was applied, you can correct the “mistake of youth” at any time by contacting a professional who, on top of the old one, will inject you with a new drawing, more beautiful and more relevant than the previous one.

Tattoo fix

If it happened that after a while the tattoo “floated”, or inflammation began, you should immediately go to the master who worked with you. The thing is that some people may develop an allergic reaction to some types of paint (cases are quite rare, about 1 in 1000). In addition, with any, the most professional tattooing procedure, a small amount of microbes enters the body. However, a healthy person has a strong enough immune system to cope with this trouble. In any case, if you have any questions or unforeseen difficulties, contact the master to find out together why this or that problem arose. However, after visiting a real professional, the risk of being dissatisfied is minimized (the guarantee that you will not fall into the hands of a charlatan will be a specialized salon, sterile tools and a clean workplace of the master, where all hygiene requirements are taken into account).

It should be remembered that over time, the effectiveness of the tattoo is lost - the skin becomes flabby, cellulite may appear. To avoid unpleasant metamorphoses with your favorite pattern, when choosing a place for tattooing, it is better to dwell on parts of the body where the skin does not stretch over time (shoulder blade, ankle).

As you can see, the well-known thesis that a tattoo is a magical synthesis of art and medicine, at the stage of recovery and care should be considered in a medical way. Does anyone want to harm themselves with their own dishonesty, inattention or laziness!

It is not so difficult to fulfill these simple provisions, especially when your beauty and individuality are at stake. In addition, if you do not follow the above rules and get an undesirable result due to your own negligence, then there will definitely not be a guarantee for work: an experienced master will understand where his omission is, and where is the negligence of the customer.

Tattoo care immediately after application

Immediately after tattooing, a compress is applied, wrapped with cling film to avoid external contact with a polluted environment and to prevent accidental infection. The compress should be removed after 2-4 hours, depending on the rate of blood clotting. During this time, at the site of the tattoo, capillary bleeding almost completely stops. If you remove the bandage before the specified time, then the ichor released from the capillaries dries quickly on the skin, which leads to the formation of a crust, when peeled off (removed), the pattern is inevitably damaged and the healing process itself is delayed for a longer period!

After removing the compress, immediately wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap. A warm (not hot) shower is ideal. Be sure to wash off all the discharge at the site of the tattoo. Do not use alcohol-based creams and aftershave lotions.

Immediately after showering, gently dab the tattoo site with sterile material, cotton pads are ideal. Dry the tattoo site for 10-15 minutes, after which the tattoo can be lightly wiped with a cotton pad moistened with Miramistin or Chlorhexidine solution. It is necessary to wipe with movements from the center of the pattern to the edges, affecting the intact area of the skin along the periphery of the tattoo. It is better if you change cotton pads in the process of wiping.

Further, the tattoo is lubricated with a cream (Bepanten + / Bepanten Plus), but you can use Solcoseryl ointment, creams containing Vitamins are very good, especially A, D, C, E, F from this line are ideal creams: "D-Panthenol", ointment "Original", cream "Ink Fixx", homeopathic "Boro-Plus" can also be used. You can also resort to folk remedies - use natural sea buckthorn oil, which has a very high ability to regenerate damaged skin cells.

It is better if you choose one remedy that suits you the most. But in any case, you should not use the above remedies uncontrollably and too often. It is enough to apply creams and ointments in accordance with the attached instructions for use. Usually it is 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days. The whole process of tattoo healing varies greatly, it depends on the individual characteristics of the body. On average, a tattoo heals within 5-10 days.

Remember, that:

 • 2-3 days after application, the tattoo is covered with a crust, which remains until the end of healing, approximately 7-10 days.
 • until the tattoo is completely healed, it is unacceptable to: expose the tattoo to sunlight, visit a solarium, play sports, visit a bath or sauna, lie in a bath, swim in ponds.
 • approximately on the fifth day, itching may appear, the crust from the tattoo begins to peel off gradually, you can not scratch the tattoo site and peel off the crust. A compress from the Sinaflan solution will help relieve itching.

After the tattoo has completely healed, the tattoo does not require any care. If the drawing is done professionally, then over the years it almost does not change shape, does not blur, the colors of the tattoo do not fade. The only exceptions are those cases when a person is gaining weight or losing weight, but even in such cases, the tattoo can always be corrected.

According to the site: http://allnice.ru Save to social networks:

A tattoo is applied by injuring the skin with disposable needles installed in special tattoo machines, and at the same time, introducing special dyes into the skin. This is the only way to achieve durability of the pattern on the skin. Tattooing should take place only under sterile conditions and be performed by masters of their craft. Otherwise, inflammation of the skin or deformation of the tattoo is possible. The process of its healing largely depends on the characteristics of the organism itself and the speed of skin regeneration. It is important to know how to care for a tattoo, how to process it, whether it is possible to smear a tattoo with oil or not, what adjustments to make in your life in order to avoid negative side effects.

Tattoo treatment in the salon

After applying the final touches, the tattoo artist gently applies a special vaseline oil or greasy cream to the tattoo surface to stop the blood flow and lymph flow from the damaged skin. On top of the area of the body on which the tattoo is applied, it attaches or wraps a food film, protecting the tattoo from possible infections and contact with clothing or shoes. After that, the master gives recommendations for caring for the tattoo at home. He will explain how and how to treat a healed tattoo, whether it is possible to smear a fresh tattoo with baby cream, how to rinse and get wet, and what should be avoided.

Tattoo care at home

After returning from the salon, you should not immediately rush to remove the bandage made by the master. At least five hours must pass. After removing the bandage, rinse the skin thoroughly using cotton swabs and chlorhexidine. In the absence of chlorhexidine, drinking water will do. After washing, the tattoo should be gently blotted with a paper towel and smeared with a thick layer of healing ointment. You can read more information about tattoo care in our article. "Tattoo Care"

There are many ambiguous opinions about whether it is possible to smear a tattoo with baby cream, replacing them with Panthenol products. Baby cream should contain vitamins for skin regeneration, olive or sea buckthorn oil. Such a cream will have a healing and moisturizing effect necessary for a tattoo. In other cases, it does not make sense to invent something new, when it is much easier and safer to follow the recommendations of a specialist received during the session.

The first week after applying the tattoo: is it possible to smear the tattoo with hand cream

Due to the fact that a newly applied tattoo is essentially an injured area of the skin, there are certain precautions. So, the tattoo should be protected:

 • from dust and dirt;
 • contact with clothes or shoes;
 • contact with water.

After the tattoo has healed, sunscreen can be used to protect it. As a moisturizer, you can use any cream suitable for the skin.

There are several stages of tattoo healing, each of which has certain rules for caring for the damaged area of the skin. In order for the body pattern to remain a spectacular and beautiful decoration for a long time, do not neglect the advice of a tattoo artist. Strict adherence to his recommendations is the main guarantee that you will not need a correction. What should you be aware of in order to avoid deformation of the tattoo and maintain its durability?

First stage

The quality of a tattoo is half dependent on proper care in the first days after the session. The application of a permanent drawing is a mechanical intervention in the human body, which cannot pass painlessly and without a trace. After the procedure, small microcracks remain on the body, through which the ichor is released. Thus, the process of healing and cleansing of the skin begins, which starts the lymphatic system.

At the first stage of healing, the area of the body with the tattoo swells and discharge appears in the form of a sticky liquid mixed with ink. Many people first of all think that the drawing simply spreads and is washed off, but this is not so. This is a normal reaction of the body to such a procedure. Even in the salon, the tattoo artist treats the place of application with a healing ointment and wraps it with a protective film. The film is not recommended to be removed during the first day. At home, you need to take a warm (not hot!) Shower, gently wash the wound with antibacterial soap and leave to dry. In no case should you rub the drawing with a washcloth or towel. After washing, a healing anti-inflammatory cream should be applied to the tattoo.

Second phase

On the second day of tattoo healing, the ichor disappears, the tumor disappears. The skin at this stage tightens, becomes dry and dehydrated. Why is this happening? The fact is that ink is perceived by the body as a foreign body. It takes time for them to take root and not be rejected. During this period, the drawing should be actively processed with healing ointments. It is recommended to avoid body contact with clothing, as friction does not promote healing of the tattoo. If you need to go outside, it is advisable to wrap the place of application with a protective or ordinary cling film. At home, during the second stage of healing, it is better to leave the tattoo open so that the skin can breathe.

Third stage

Usually on the third day a crust forms on the tattoo. The skin begins to peel off, white or colored flakes appear. The fact is that the ink remains in the lower layer, the dermis, and the epidermis, that is, the upper layer, is updated and restored after the procedure. This reaction of the body provokes severe itching and discomfort. In no case should you scratch the tattoo and peel off the crust. This will significantly damage the drawing and increase the healing time. You can lightly pat your palm on the body and continue to treat the area with ointment. Antiseptic solution "Sinaflan" will also help reduce itching. At this time, it is advisable not to visit the gym, solarium, limit the time spent in the open sun and reduce physical activity. Do not be alarmed if the tattoo fades a little and loses its brightness. It will go away after complete healing.

Healing time

The healing time of a tattoo is individual for each person and depends on the following factors.

Place of application

The buttocks, chest and abdomen heal the fastest. The recovery period takes from 4 to 7 days. Areas with little subcutaneous fat (back, ankle, neck) may take up to 2 weeks to heal.

Tattoo volume

Large tattoos are usually applied in several stages, so complete healing occurs in a month. This is especially true for portrait photos in the style of realism or blackwork tattoos, where a large amount of ink is used to completely hatch the picture. Small and medium tattoos recover faster because the area of the body is small.

Line thickness and depth

Thin neat lines do not greatly injure the skin and recover faster, deep, wide and thick - longer: 1-2 weeks.

You can tell if a tattoo has healed by running your hand over it. If the pattern is uniform, without roughness and husks, the recovery process was successful.

Healing ointments

After the session, the tattoo needs proper care. At the end of the work, the tattoo artist treats the place of application with an anti-inflammatory ointment that relieves swelling. Further, a similar procedure must be done at home in order to speed up the regeneration process. The most effective and recommended drugs include the following.

Remember that during the regeneration of the damaged area (that is, during all three stages listed above), cosmetic hand creams and even baby cream should be completely abandoned. The fact is that they contain additives, flavors and essential oils that do not promote healing, but, on the contrary, injure the skin.
