Making such a topiary with your own hands is quite simple - you just need to arm yourself with the necessary material and put in a little effort.

Below you will find a detailed master class on creating topiary from candy.

So, we will need:

pot (plant pot without a hole in the bottom, glass or bucket),
pieces of foam plastic,
building plaster (alabaster),
barbecue skewers,
twine or ribbons for decorating the trunk,
floral oasis (can be replaced with polystyrene foam, polyurethane foam or newspapers),
floral corrugated paper in green and pink colors,
toothpicks,
cling film,
thin tape,
tapelanta,
sewing threads,
organza,
various beads and other decorations for decoration,
tools: scissors, hot glue, knife, stapler,
and of course, the most important thing - sweets.

Creating a frame with your own hands, fixing it in a pot

Wooden barbecue skewers will serve as the trunk. Put 8 sticks together, wrap them tightly with twine and secure the ends with hot glue. You should not wrap the workpiece completely; the ends of the barrel will not be visible in the finished product.

From a piece of floral oasis (in this master class we use it, but if desired, you can use foam or crumpled newspapers), using a knife and your hands we form a block, cut off the corners and bring it closer to the shape of a ball. There is no need to achieve perfection; inaccuracies will still not be noticeable under the frame of the crown. Then we insert the barrel into the oasis base ball.

Now We fix the frame in the pot. We place the trunk in the pot, fill the space between the walls and the stick with pieces of foam plastic. Then we fill it all with a pre-prepared alabaster solution whose density resembles thick sour cream. Leave the topiary base alone for a couple of hours until it dries.

Preparing the candies

To ensure that the topiary remains intact and continues to delight us, even after the sweet filling is destroyed, we will not attach the candies directly to the toothpicks, but first we will wrap them in cling film. To do this, bend the ears and wrap the candy in film. We wrap the assembled film around a toothpick and secure it with tape. This way the candies will be removed without harming the entire composition.

Flower making and assembly

Sepals we make it from green corrugated paper, to do this we cut the paper into strips, and then the strips into squares with sides of 6 cm. On one side we cut out the cloves, which we then twist, as shown in the photo:

Rose petals can be done separately, but in this master class I prepared a ribbon of petals. We cut out strips from corrugated paper - 7 cm wide, then fold the strips into accordion shapes - 5 cm wide. And then we cut out the petal as shown in the photo:

Give the petals a shape. First, stretch the top edge of the tape, and then twist the corners with a toothpick. Then we make a hole in each petal for the sweets, also stretching the paper with our own hands (see photo):

Petals for the flower core we do it separately, in the same way we cut out small rectangles, give them shape, stretch them out and twist the corners. The result should be two types of petals, as shown in the photo:

We collect roses. We put the candy on a toothpick, a kind of “lollipop,” into a narrow petal for the core, then put it on and wrap it with a wider petal. Secure with a drop of glue. Next, we wrap the resulting bud with a ribbon of their petals, sometimes securing the structure with glue, but try to have as little glue as possible so as not to weigh down the flowers. We wrap thread around the base of the flower. Next, glue the sepals to the base and wrap the resulting stem with tape (see photo). We admire the finished flower. We make the required number of roses.

We make pound cakes from organza. We cut out the squares, mine turned out to be 12x12 cm, fold the squares into triangles (so that the corners do not coincide slightly), then fold the triangles into an accordion in 3 folds (see photo). We make as many pounds as possible.

We collect topiary. Surely the base for the tree has dried out well during this time. Now all we have to do is cover the oasis with roses. We leave enough space between them for greenery.

The finishing touch (decoration)

There is very little left: we fill the gaps between the roses with pound cakes, and we also mask the “soil” in the pot with organza. We decorate the finished product with beads (see photo):

A small ribbon of 6-7 cm is cut out of green paper, the upper edge is cut, forming deep teeth, which are then rolled into a tube. The prepared leaves are glued to the bottom of the bud. Instead of sweets, you can use Raffaello.

Raffaello is attached to the foam using glue or double-sided tape. And the skewer is decorated with a bright red ribbon and a large bow. The master must stick the finished rose buds into the foam at the same distance from each other. Next you need to cut out 10-12 squares of 15 by 15 cm from green mesh or organza.

Fold the squares in half to form a triangle. Then they are collected a little with an accordion and secured with a toothpick. To make the gift more festive, you can attach burgundy corrugated paper around the lollipops. To do this, you need to cut out the required number of squares 12 by 12 cm, pierce them strictly in the center with a candy stick, then slightly bend the edges up. After this step, the prepared blanks are inserted into a foam ball.

Topiary made from lollipops looks original and will appeal to the child. And additional decoration with paper will make it festive.
