Cut out a rectangle from the selected paper. Its dimensions are calculated as follows: using a tape measure, we sequentially measure all four sides of the box and add three centimeters to the hem, so we get the width, the length is determined by the formula - 2 heights of the box itself + 1 length.

Advice! If you have never wrapped a gift with your own hands before, you should immediately practice on some unnecessary paper. For example, on a newspaper or on a piece of unnecessary wallpaper.

Before wrapping a gift box in paper, we inspect the box and the gift itself for the presence of price tags, and, if necessary, remove them. Next, on a flat surface, lay out a rectangle of paper of the required size and a box with a gift.

II. You don't know how to pack a gift in wrapping paper in a round or oval box?

Let's figure it out together. Such boxes, as a rule, contain various goodies, tea, coffee, sweets, as well as sets. But not every professional will be able to properly pack such a box in wrapping paper, so first you should practice on an unnecessary newspaper.

We measure the height of the box. We cut out a strip of paper 2-3 cm wider. We glue our box in a circle, while tucking it inward about 1-2 cm from the top, 1 cm from the bottom from the bottom. Of course, we remove the cover at the same time.

We cut out a strip of paper that is about 10 mm wider than the height of the lid. Then we glue it flush with the top of our lid. Carefully fold the protruding seam allowance inward. Our package is ready!

We sew the bottom of the resulting bundle with threads (this can also be done using braid or tape), while retreating about 1.5-2 cm of paper from the object itself. You can sew it with a sewing machine or by hand.

How to wrap a standard size box in gift paper

Calculate the size of paper you need to use for packaging. This can be done using this formula. The width of the sheet of paper will be equal to the sum of the length and height of the box, which is multiplied by 1.5. To determine the length, measure twice the width and height of the box, add them together, then add 4 cm to the total.

Place the gift on the back of the paper according to size. Glue a strip of tape on top of the cardboard along its entire length. Remove the protective layer from it.

Fold the short edge of the paper over the cardboard. Press the tape in place so that the package fits tightly to the cardboard. Press the fold lines with your fingers.

Fold the opposite edge of the paper up 2 cm. Glue tape along the fold line, remove the tape.

Pull the packaging tightly around the gift, fold the paper over the lid of the box and glue its edge, as shown in the photo.

How to pack a round sized box in gift paper

Place the gift in the center of the figure. Cut the ribbon and thread it through the holes in the strips. To do this, gradually bend the strips towards the middle of the circle, tightening the tape tightly.

When you have threaded the last strip, tie the ribbon in a knot. This way you will collect all the blanks together and they will not fall apart. Cut off the excess tape. Hide the knot with a bow made from leftover ribbon.

How to pack a long box with gift paper

Narrow and long gifts can be wrapped as standard, but it is much more interesting to make the packaging in the form of a large candy.

Packaging materials:

corrugated paper;
scissors, transparent tape;
decorative tape.

Cut the colored paper into a long rectangle that is twice the length of the box. The height of the figure will be double the width and height of the gift. Add 3 cm to it for allowances.

Center the gift on the parchment and wrap it around it. Secure the paper cut to the cardboard with transparent tape.
Use a piece of decorative tape to secure the paper on each side. If desired, create curls using the sharp edge of a pair of scissors.

Cut off the excess parchment along the edges of the package.

Make the second box in the same way. This will become the lid for the first box. Its dimensions should be accordingly 2-3 millimeters larger.
Tie with a ribbon and decorate with decorative elements.

Packaging "Envelope"

Tools and materials:

wrapping paper;
scissors;
double-sided thin tape;
ribbons for decoration.

Depending on the size of the gift, measure out the required amount of packaging, following photo 1.
Fold one free edge over the box, fold the second free edge into a corner (photo 2).
Using tape, attach the previously obtained corner (photo 3).
Wrap the open sides of the box, starting from the top edge of the paper, then wrap the sides (photos 4 and 5).
Fold the bottom of the paper as in photo 6. So that the side corners look even, and secure with tape.
Repeat the previous step with the second open side (photo 7).
Make bows from pieces of ribbon (photo 8).
Tie the box with a ribbon, tying it in one knot (photo 9), put bows on top and carefully tie the ribbon again into 2 knots (photo 10).
Trim the excess parts of the tape (photo 11).

Packaging "Eskimo"
