Features of the use of acrylic products

How to dye jeans if you want to get an original thing at the exit, which no one else will have analogues? The ideal option is bright and resistant acrylic paints that will not fade or fade. They are used for artistic painting - a good option to refresh a thing or hide a stain. The use of this type of paint has seven features.

  1. Training . Before starting work, jeans are washed, and also completely dried and ironed. This will allow the paint to better adhere between the fibers.
  2. Ease of application. The area on which the drawing will be applied must be placed on a flat surface and fixed (for example, with paper clips or double-sided tape).
  3. Outline. This can be done with a soft pencil or carbon paper.
  4. Amount of paint. The acrylic layer should be as thin as possible. Otherwise, he may start to climb.
  5. Correct brushes. To apply a clear pattern, which implies a dense overlap, soft bristles are suitable. For translucent patterns, it is better to use hard brushes.
  6. Drying. Acrylic paint sets instantly. But it will take at least 15 hours for it to dry completely.
  7. Fixing the result. To keep the paint firmly on the jeans, iron the product from the wrong side or through a sheet of paper.

Despite the fact that acrylic is highly resistant, it is not recommended to expose a thing painted with such paint to high temperatures. Machine wash and strong friction should also be avoided.

How to dye jeans with powder dye: 2 ways

Powder dyes are the most common. They are easy to use and quite inexpensive. There are two ways to use this kind of funds.

In the washing machine

Dyeing jeans in the washing machine is the best option for those who value their time. The procedure is carried out in six stages.

  1. Preparing jeans. Wash well, rinse and dry jeans completely. If stains or particles of detergent remain on the fabric, the dye will not be evenly distributed.
  2. Dye preparation. According to the instructions, prepare the coloring composition. If using a powder product, stir thoroughly so that there are no lumps. Otherwise, the fabric will be colored unevenly. You may have to strain the composition through several layers of gauze.
  3. Load the jeans into the drum, pour the prepared dye composition there. Immediately proceed to the next step so that the pigment does not have time to eat into the fabric.
  4. Mode selection. Jeans should spend at least two hours in the washing machine, and therefore you should choose the longest wash cycle. The water temperature should be the maximum allowed, according to the label.
  5. Fixing the result. When the dyeing process is completed, put the jeans in a basin of acidified water for a quarter of an hour. For every liter of liquid should be two tablespoons of vinegar.
  6. Final wash. To remove dye residue from the fabric and remove the smell of vinegar, machine wash the jeans again without any detergent. This time the water temperature should not exceed 40 °C.

Modern fabric dyes do not harm the washing machine. The only vulnerable element is the rubber gasket on the door. If at the end of washing you notice that the surface is stained, immediately wipe it with a sponge and soap.

In an enamel bowl

If you want to control the staining process, you have to do everything manually. An enamel basin is ideal for these purposes. Follow the seven steps.

  1. Paint preparation. According to the instructions, dilute the dye in water. If there are undissolved lumps, the mixture must be filtered through gauze.
  2. Preparing a container of water. Pour about 7 liters of water into a large enamel basin. Put a container of water on the fire.
  3. Product immersion. When the water warms up well, dissolve the dye in it and submerge the jeans. The liquid should be hot enough, but not boiling.
  4. Cooking. For 40-60 minutes, boil jeans in a coloring composition.
  5. Rinsing. After cooking, rinse the product first in hot and then in cold water.
  6. Color fixing. Dip jeans in vinegar solution (two tablespoons per liter of water) for a quarter of an hour.
  7. Final wash. Wash your jeans in warm water with a little powder or laundry soap.

During digestion, you will have to constantly ensure that the product is completely immersed in water. If some parts of the fabric float to the surface, they will not be dyed, and light spots will appear on the jeans.

Alternative Solutions

If you like experiments, buying a dye and then applying it according to the instructions is too banal and boring. A number of alternative means will help to achieve the desired color and original effects.

  2. Washed and dried jeans are completely immersed in the solution for one and a half to two hours.
  3. To remove the remnants of the coloring composition, rinse the product several times. Alternate warm and cold water.
  4. Pour water into the container. For every liter, add two tablespoons of vinegar and one tablespoon of salt. Soak the item in the composition for 15 minutes.
  5. Wash the product in powder and hang to dry away from sunlight and heaters.

Treatment

  1. Squeeze juice from berries or vegetables and dilute it with hot water. Pour boiling water over dried herbs or spices and let steep until cool. The proportions of dye and water are determined "by eye". The more pigment, the brighter the color will be.
  2. Place the product in a container with a solution. The liquid should completely cover it.
  3. Within three to five hours, constantly turn the thing over to evenly distribute the dye.
  4. Rinse the product in water acidified with vinegar or a weak saline solution.

Table - Natural dyes for jeans

- raspberry
Grey colour- Blackberry
Blue- Red cabbage
Blue colour- Cauliflower;

The highest color intensity is noted after staining with berry juices. In vegetables and dry dyes, the pigment is much paler.

  1. Water temperature. Dyed items can only be washed in cold or lukewarm water. The high temperature will help wash out the dye.
  2. Detergent. Washing powder is better to replace with laundry soap.
  3. Wash type. Ideal - hand wash without friction. Use the machine only in delicate mode.

Do not use fabric softener when washing dyed jeans. It can change the shade of a thing beyond recognition.

If you want to revive old jeans that have lost their color, synthetic and natural dyes will come to your rescue. But having put one thing in order, it is important not to spoil the others. If you decide to dye your jeans with your own dye, remember that you need to wash them separately from other clothes. After washing, thoroughly wipe the basin or drum of the washing machine to remove dye particles.

print

A dozen years ago, any fashionista knew by heart how to dye jeans at home in order to give an ordinary product a fashionable gloss or update their faded shade. Today we are talking about how to dye jeans at home, is it possible to achieve unthinkable shade transitions, or will we have to stop at the traditional blue tone?

Methods for dyeing jeans, the advantages and disadvantages of each

To date, to change the shade of pants, use the following methods:

  • Potassium permanganate. This method will require some skill from you. It's a stretch to call it simple. But as a result, you can achieve that never go out of fashion.

  • Blue. It is the most affordable budget tool for staining. The pluses include ease of use, but of the minuses, we note the low color stability to the external environment. It is washed out with every wash and requires constant renewal of intensity.
  • Aniline based paints. The instructions on the packaging describe the entire process in detail. The main thing is to strictly follow the scheme of application. Unique is the ability to mix different shades of the product to obtain fundamentally new colors.

  • Acrylic paints. They have increased durability. As soon as they dry, they immediately stop responding to external influences until boiled or washed with powder.
  • Dyes in powder. You can easily and simply use powder options when running things in an automatic machine. This process is the least troublesome, but you don’t have to wait for rainbow shades.

In addition to those mentioned, it is allowed to use other products in dyeing, such as hair dye and other preparations for fabrics.

Ways to use powder dyes

Dyeing jeans provides for both a machine option and a manual color change. Let's consider the options in more detail.

Coloring in the machine

  1. In order for the panties not to become spotty, but to acquire a uniform, even tone, first dissolve the dye as indicated on the label. If there is no information, then dilute the standard sachet in 0.5 liters of water. In the process, make sure that all the powder dissolves, because lumps and grains of sand can ruin the job.
  2. Place the prepared solution in the drum of the washing machine. If the label of your item says that you should add salt or soda, then add these same components to the drum.
  3. Load the thing you are going to animate into the machine. For cotton or linen, set the temperature to 95 degrees.
  4. As for the time, it is better to choose the longest period. After the machine finishes, take out the pants and put them in the basin. First, place vinegar diluted with water in a bowl at the rate of 1 tbsp. vinegar per 1 liter. liquids.
  5. In this solution, let the trousers soak for 25 minutes. After that, wash them in the machine in the usual way for jeans: the minimum time, and the temperature is not more than 40 degrees.
  6. Upon completion of all manipulations, your trousers will acquire the desired shade.

Painting in an enamel bowl

  1. Dilute the coloring powder in a liter of hot water. Carefully review the packaging, if it indicates that you need to add soda or salt to the composition, then add the right amount. Stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Pour the resulting solution into an enameled container. Add 5-7 liters of water there. Place the pants you want to dye in this bowl.
  3. Move the basin to the fire and "boil" them at a temperature of about 95 degrees for about 60 minutes. Systematically stir the contents of the pelvis with tongs or a stick.
  4. As soon as the "cooking" period is over, remove the trousers from the solution, cool, rinse them first in warm water, and then in cold water.
  5. Soak clean pants for half an hour in a solution of vinegar, and then wash them with your hands using washing powder.

Now you know how to dye old jeans to freshen up your favorite item and get a fashionable new thing in your wardrobe.

Important! If you used a washing machine, then immediately after the dyeing procedure, do not wash white things in it. It is better to let the technique idle the session in order to whiten the drum a little.

Paint your pants blue

  • You can use blue to "revive" if your pants are very faded, but there is no pollution on the surface.
  • The tool will not be able to radically change the color of the fabric, but only add a shade of depth and saturation.
  • The depth of color will be washed off after 3-4 washes, that is, much faster than coloring powders.

  • If you notice that the material has faded again, feel free to repeat the blue coloring, and the thing will again acquire a fashionable, rich tone.
  • To change the tone, dilute the blue in water as indicated on the package, or make sure that the color of the liquid suits you with its intensity.
  • After the end of the process, rinse the thing in the basin, while adding vinegar.

Application of whiteness

For a long time in the post-Soviet space, jeans-varenki remain in trend. Every self-respecting fashionista knew by heart the secrets of creating fashionable new clothes from ordinary trousers. This is a simple matter, since the usual "Whiteness" will help you.

  1. Dilute a glass of "Whiteness" in a bucket of water.
  2. Twist the thing well into a sausage, fix it in several places with rubber bands.
  3. Immerse them in a container with a solution, and begin to gradually heat the basin on the stove. In this situation, you will need at least 15 minutes for the procedure. Be careful not to let your jeans float to the surface.

In this way, black jeans or blue jeans can be dyed so that large unusual patterns form on the surface.

How to work with black denim pants

The most reliable way for those who are going to dye trousers is to purchase specialized fabric preparations. Such tools can give the material black, blue, cyan tones. If you do not have the opportunity to purchase the drug, then at home you can dye your jeans black with hair dye. The method is interesting, but it is better to resort to its use in extreme cases. The scheme of the procedure looks like this:

  1. Buy some paint. When choosing, pay attention to its shade. Try not to make a mistake, otherwise you will most likely not be able to get the desired tone. Just in case, if the panties are large, buy a couple of packs.
  2. Dilute the drug in water. Determine the amount of water “by eye” so that you can subsequently completely immerse your pants in it. Leave the thing in the solution for an hour and a half.
  3. As soon as the deadline is up, rinse your panties. First, dip in clean water, then add soda and salt.
  4. Dry the new thing and evaluate the result.

Important! Jeans can be dyed with hair dye, but remember that the result can be the most unexpected.

Acrylic paints for painting jeans

Acrylic paint for jeans is suitable if you do not want to radically change their tone, but just want to stand out in a bright way from the crowd. The scheme for creating a fashionable new thing is quite simple, but the result depends solely on your artistic abilities.

  1. Prepare brushes of different sizes and choose the sketch you like.
  2. Carefully apply acrylic paints on the leg pattern.
  3. Fix the effect obtained by going over the pattern with a hot iron through gauze or after turning it inside out.

Important! Applying an acrylic ornament to a thing that is worn daily is not worth it. In this case, the jeans paint quickly sheds and peels off.

Once you have learned how to color, you can easily bring your favorite trousers to life by turning them into a mind-blowing handmade.

It is customary to turn blue linen, denim and cotton clothes in case of fading. Modern chemical and optical brighteners contain substances that strengthen and restore color, but sometimes this cannot help. Then a simple blue will come to the rescue.

You will need:

I. Blue in tablets

III. Piece of white cloth

The special advantages of high-quality blue are its resistance to direct sunlight and safety for washing containers and hands. This means is completely washed off from clothes at the subsequent washing.

The composition of blue includes a special component - ultramarine, which is used in all in all bluing preparations. In some cases, a mixture of pigments and dyes is used, for example, indigo carmine with purple or blue class C dye. The blue dyeing method is used for clothing made from any fiber, but is usually used for denim.

Classification and method of application of blue

Classic bluing substances are usually classified into 3 groups:

For rinsing
- For simultaneous washing
- For light bluing and starching

The blue staining method is as follows:

1. 2 tablets or powder must be placed in a piece of white cloth, after which the water, where the knot falls, turns blue to a certain shade.
2. When using starch blue, the drug is diluted in cold water. The resulting mixture is poured into boiling water. It is important to mix the mixture thoroughly until the clots disappear completely. If the mixture turns out to be opaque, it must be boiled until fully cooked. After the solution, strain through cheesecloth and dilute with water until the desired shade is obtained.

how to dye jeans blue

First you need to familiarize yourself with the composition of blue. Components such as indigo carmine or Prussian blue are ideal for uniform coloring. Blue, which includes ordinary blue paint, insoluble in water, is not suitable for this procedure. In particular cases, when preparing a blue solution for painting jeans, insoluble Prussian blue with a small admixture of oxalic acid is used. In this case, it is important not to overexpose the clothes in blue water, otherwise the acid can linger in the fibers and ruin the thing.

Blue for jeans is used as follows:

It is necessary to wet the clothes by first filling part of the tub with warm water
- Pour all the bluing into the water or place the tablets
- Water should be stirred and jeans should be laid so that the resulting solution completely and evenly covers them
- Jeans leave for 2 hours, after the expiration of which they must be rinsed until completely cleansed of the drug. You can check the purity simply by the color of the water.

This method will help to avoid the release of paint on the body when wearing jeans, and the color will be as close as possible to the original state.

Have your jeans lost their color, or are you just bored? It doesn't matter, we will show you how to dye your jeans at home and give them a second life.

More than 60 years have passed since jeans appeared in our country, and they still have not lost their popularity. On the contrary, this type of clothing is becoming more and more in demand.

Jeans have found their niche and occupied it so densely that it looks like it will stay with us forever. Once they were considered work clothes, then they moved into the category of everyday clothes, a little more time passed - and they began to wear them for almost all occasions.

We love our jeans, and sometimes we can leave them on for a whole day, which leads to the fact that they gradually wear out and lose their original color. Of course, you can buy new jeans, but the models of famous companies are not cheap, and therefore not everyone can afford to change jeans once a month. But jeans, unlike simple trousers, have one difference - they can be updated! How can you dye denim? Read about how to dye your jeans and save your money.

What are we going to paint

So, we think: how to dye jeans? If you decide to make your favorite, but already old jeans new, then this can be done in several ways, and many different dyes are sold for this purpose.

When buying bags of paint, see the instructions on how this paint can be used, whether this method will be available to you.

Do not try to invent something of your own, because you can ruin your jeans. Be sure to wash your jeans and dry them before painting, and then you can already experiment.

How to dye jeans blue to get the right shade? There are two main ways to dye blue and faded jeans, we will look at both in detail. For such staining, it is necessary to purchase powder paint for fabrics (cotton, linen and viscose fabrics). Dyeing methods: using a washing machine (preferably an automatic machine), and simply in a bucket on a gas stove.

Method one - washing machine:

  1. How to dye jeans in the washing machine? In order for the jeans to be streak-free and the fabric to be dyed evenly, the paint must first be dissolved. Take half a liter of warm water and pour a bag of paint into it, then mix thoroughly. Strain the resulting solution through a sieve, because not all the powder can dissolve immediately. Do not allow undissolved pieces of paint to get on jeans.
  2. Pour this solution into the drum of the machine (not to be confused with the flask for powder and conditioner), and if necessary, add soda or salt (see instructions on the paint label).
  3. Throw your jeans on, set to cotton mode, and set the maximum temperature indicated on the jeans tag. We warn you right away: if you have not washed jeans at such a high temperature before, get ready for the fabric to shrink.
  4. Washing time for full dyeing of the fabric should be at least 30 minutes.
  5. While the machine is running, prepare a bowl of cold water. Add vinegar to the water, in a proportion of 1 tbsp. l. for 1 liter of water.
  6. Take the jeans out of the machine and soak them in a bowl for 15 minutes.
  7. After that, they should be washed again in the machine, but with the addition of washing powder, and at a water temperature of up to 40 ° C.

Method two - a bucket for gas:

  1. Dissolve the paint in a small amount of hot water, add salt or soda if necessary, strain so that there are no lumps.
  2. Pour the paint into the bucket and add enough water to completely submerge the jeans.
  3. Put the bucket on the gas, bring to a boil, reduce the flame to a minimum, and leave for 1 hour, and be sure to stir with a wooden stick so that the color is even.
  4. At the end of one hour, remove and rinse the jeans in cold water.
  5. Just like in the first method, jeans must be soaked for about 20 minutes in water with vinegar.
  6. Wash in warm water with detergent, and rinse again in plain water.

Before you can dye your jeans black, you need a denim dye. The Tekhnokhim dye has proven itself well, the composition is Jeans, it is sold in hypermarkets, or in needlework stores.

Jeans dye is a blue-gray powder. Before dyeing black jeans or blue jeans, put on rubber gloves, pour coloring powder, 200 grams of salt, and jeans soaked in water into the drum of the washing machine.

We select the program "cotton" 60 or 95 degrees. The longer the wash time, the richer the color will be. We are waiting for the end of the process. Further, after the end of the washing mode, it is necessary to fix the black color. To fix the color in the cuvette of the washing machine, pour 5 tablespoons of vinegar, and turn on the “rinse” mode. Do not turn on the spin mode! Otherwise, dyed jeans will turn out to be streaked.

Two more simple ways to resuscitate jeans

In the distant, distant times of the USSR, there were no special paints to restore the color of jeans, but there were jeans themselves, and they, like today, were quickly wiped. It was then that simple but effective ways to dye jeans were invented.

We make "dumplings"

In the 80s of the 20th century, the so-called "varenki" were especially popular. They were terribly expensive, and it was almost impossible to buy them. But craftsmen found a way out - how to make super fashionable dumplings in a bucket in the kitchen of a Soviet apartment. Everything turns out to be very simple, and you can repeat this experiment with old jeans. Manufacturing steps:

  • Twist your jeans in different directions as tightly as possible, then twist them into one lump, and tie them with ropes.
  • Pour water into a bucket, add 200 grams of whiteness, and lower the twisted jeans there.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.
  • We try to constantly keep jeans under water.
  • We take out, untie, rinse, dry.

How to blue jeans? In some cases, when jeans are not yet completely killed, blue can be used to give them a fresher look. How it's done:

  • Pour warm water into a basin or bucket and add a little blue, the amount of powder must be selected independently.
  • Soak the jeans in the solution for 2 hours.
  • Remove, wring out, and rinse in cold water with vinegar.

Everything is simple, but this method is not enough for a long time, usually after the third wash, the jeans return to their previous state.

Fast and easy! Three additional ways

How to dye jeans? If you like to experiment and you like clothes that others don't have, then you should try one or all of the three methods described below:

  1. You can dye your jeans any color with hair dye. The paint dissolves in water, jeans are soaked for 1.5-2 hours. But the truth is, for a long time this coloring is not enough, after several washes, all the paint will come off.
  2. Jeans can be painted with acrylic paints, any drawing is applied, everything that will give out your imagination. You can fix the pattern by ironing it and laying paper. But again, after each wash, the pattern will become paler until it disappears altogether.
  3. And the last way, and probably the fastest - coloring with aerosols. You don't need anything other than paint cans. Your imagination is not limited by anything, if you are an artist at heart, you can create a real masterpiece on your jeans!

In dry cleaning, they will most likely paint more professionally, but they will also take a lot of money. If you have old but still intact jeans, you can make something with your own hands that your friends will ask about - where did you buy such beautiful jeans.

In the video: dyeing jeans black at home.

You don't have to spend money on new designer items to update your wardrobe. Sometimes it's enough just to change your old clothes a little, for example, recolor your favorite jeans.

When might jeans be dyed?

Clothes, unfortunately, wear out over time, lose their shape and color. Despite its strength, the denim material is able to rub off, and its shade can fade. To give your jeans a fresher look, you can dye them. Black paint will also help hide stubborn dirt.

Dyeing denim will also help if the color of the purchased product has become disliked over time. With the help of home dyeing, you can give jeans fashionable shades and patterns: “varenka”, stains, pattern.

Repainting old things will also allow you to always be in trend and follow fashion trends without any extra expenses. Or maybe you decided to completely update your wardrobe, and the color of jeans does not fit the new things. In order not to spend money on buying new trousers, it is easier to repaint them.

Features of dyeing denim

The most common jeans in stores are all shades of blue, light blue and gray. Grays and blacks fade the most over time. Dark blue colors hold firm.

It should be borne in mind that even after several dyeing procedures, denim is unlikely to become perfectly black, as in a store. Even with the help of professional tools, you will get a dark gray color.

Tissue preparation for the procedure

In order for the paint to lie as evenly as possible, it is necessary to prepare the denim for dyeing:

  1. Wash the item thoroughly. Set the water temperature to 40°C - this is the optimum temperature for denim. Wash as usual - with powder and conditioner. After washing, do not dry the jeans - the coloring is done on a damp cloth. For light blue and light blue jeans, this step is enough. Further actions are performed on products of bright or dark colors: red, burgundy, purple, dark blue and the like. Washing is necessary in order to remove substances from the fabric that may interfere with the coloring or make it uneven.
  2. Get a large pot of water. The size of the pan should be large enough to wash jeans in it. Pour bleach into the water. Ordinary chlorine may also work, but it is better to use more gentle means, for example, Whiteness. It is added to water in a ratio of 1:10. Washing should be carried out in a well-ventilated area, as chlorine vapors are hazardous to health.
Whiteness is a good way to bleach jeans.
  3. Place a pot of water over high heat.
The size of the pan should allow the product to be completely soaked in it.
  4. When the water is ready to boil, reduce the heat to low and place the jeans in the pan. While stirring the product with a long wooden spoon or a culinary spatula, soak it in hot water until lightening by 2-3 tones. Some jeans may change color to beige or yellowish - this is normal. It will take 30 to 60 minutes to bleach.
It is convenient to mix jeans in a large saucepan with a wooden spoon with a long handle - the wood does not heat up from steam
  5. Turn off the heat and drain the bleach solution from the pan. Rinse your jeans thoroughly.
To remove bleach from jeans, rinse them under running water.
  6. Wash the jeans again in the washing machine with detergent. This will remove any remaining bleach that may interfere with dyeing or damage the fabric. Do not dry the product before painting.

Methods for dyeing denim

For dyeing denim at home, you can use both improvised means and professional dyes.

Professional dyes for fabrics

Professional dyes can be used both for manual dyeing and in a washing machine. When staining by hand, use enameled dishes (for example, a saucepan) - the powder is diluted in it according to the instructions and the product is soaked for the time indicated on the package, after which it is thoroughly rinsed.

If you want to dye the product in the washing machine, dilute the contents of the box in 0.5 liters of water, put the jeans in the machine and pour this composition on top. Set the washing mode to "Linen" or "Cotton". After dyeing, to fix the dye, soak the item in water with the addition of vinegar.

There are few special dyes for denim in stores. Here are the most popular ones:

Handy ways

In addition to professional purchased dyes, there are many improvised tools that will help change the color of the product. Of course, they are not so effective, but it is not necessary to go to the store to use them - the ingredients for these mixtures can be found in every home.

Tea

You can't dye your jeans deep black with tea. However, the use of this mixture will allow you to return the former pleasant warm shade to dark brown jeans, as well as black fabrics without a blue undertone.

For this method you will need:

  • 3 bags of black tea (preferably without flavorings and additional ingredients, as they will reduce the intensity of staining);
  • half a glass of salt;
  • five liters of water.

Staining occurs as follows:

  1. Take a large pot of water, dissolve the salt in it and set to boil.
  2. Boil tea bags in it to achieve a bright, saturated color of the solution.
  3. Discard the bags and soak the jeans in a saucepan. To achieve a noticeable effect, soak the product in salt tea for at least an hour.
  4. After dyeing, rinse the jeans twice in running water and leave to dry.

Do not be afraid to overdo it - this solution will not harm the fabric in any way, even if you leave the jeans in water all night.

Hair dye

To dye jeans, you will need one standard pack of hair dye:

  1. Prepare the dye solution according to the instructions and dilute it in a bowl of warm water. Be sure to use gloves. Black hair dye is almost impossible to wash off nails and cuticles.
  2. Soak jeans in this solution for one hour.
  3. Then rinse the jeans in a bowl of water with half a glass of salt added.
  4. After that, rinse the product thoroughly in running water.

Coffee

For this method, you will need ground coffee for Turks (the finest grind). Instant coffee will not work - the color will be uneven.

To dye jeans with coffee, you need:

  1. Dilute ground coffee at the rate of 50 g per 1 liter of cool water. For greater durability of staining, add half a glass of salt to the solution.
  2. Soak jeans for an hour.
  3. Rinse the fabric in running water.

Coffee gives a more intense color than tea, but leaves a persistent coffee aroma on the product.

Coloring with effects

With the help of home dyeing, you can achieve various interesting effects on fabrics that will make your image memorable and original.

The effect of "boiled"

To use this method, you will need Whiteness for the clothes. For safety, gloves must be worn before working with the product. Work should be done in a ventilated area.

For coloring, follow the instructions:

Divorces

Aniline paint will help to make beautiful stains and smooth color transitions on jeans. Aniline dye spreads strongly over the fabric, so after dyeing there will be no sharp transitions from the dyed area to the undyed area. Aniline is sold in art stores.
Any aniline dye is suitable for dyeing denim

Use a brush or sponge to paint. Hang jeans vertically and apply paint. Smudges from aniline dye after drying will create the effect of stains and a smooth flow of color.
Aniline dye, due to its fluidity, allows you to create smooth transitions between colors

Picture

If you want to give your clothes a unique look, you can decorate your jeans with a pattern. Acrylic paint fits well on denim. It is sold everywhere in art and hobby stores. The cost of a set of six colors is about 300-400 rubles.

Be sure to get brushes of the right size - the more detailed your drawing is, the thinner brushes you need to take. On the contrary, if you want to make a large-scale drawing, opt for large brushes - they will allow you to apply paint evenly.

Acrylic drawings on jeans look bright and catchy

Wash, dry and iron your jeans thoroughly before applying the design. Select the area where you will apply the image. Place cardboard under the top layer of fabric so as not to stain the back of the product. The thinner you apply the paint, the longer the pattern will stay on the fabric.

Here are some tips for decorating jeans with acrylics:

  • Before you start dyeing directly, mark the outlines of your pattern on the fabric. This can be done with a pencil or tailor's chalk.
  • If you want to make smooth transitions between colors, a gradient, then apply paint as quickly as possible. Not yet absorbed acrylic paint mixes better.
  • If your jeans are slipping on the table, secure them with duct tape. It will not leave marks on the fabric.

After dyeing, it is necessary to leave the product to dry for 15 hours, after which carefully iron the pattern from the inside out.

You can apply a drawing without artistic abilities. Cut out a stencil from cardboard or thick paper. Instead of brushes, use a sponge - it will give a more even coverage.

Even a child can make such a pattern using a stencil and acrylic paints.

Professional dyeing of clothes and fabrics

Some dry cleaners offer a dyeing service for textiles, particularly denim. The cost of such a service depends on the city, the size and weight of the product, as well as the materials used by specialists. As a rule, the price of dyeing jeans in size M is about 700-1000 rubles.

The advantage of this service is the guarantee of a good result. Specialists with experience are more likely to perform high-quality, uniform fabric dyeing. The disadvantages, in addition to the price, include the need to part with the product for a week, or even more.

Caring for jeans after staining

The painted product requires special care:

  • after the first wash, the jeans should dry themselves, do not use the wringer or tumble dryer;
  • do not dry the product in the sun, so the paint will quickly burn out;
  • wash your jeans by turning them inside out;
  • the first two times, wash the product separately from other things, as the fabric will probably shed and may ruin other clothes;
  • dyed jeans can be washed up to 50°C.

In addition, at first you need to be careful and avoid contact with light-colored upholstered furniture - paint from jeans can peel off a little and stain the upholstery.

Dyeing jeans at home is an easy and affordable way to quickly update your wardrobe and change your look. In addition, it is a pleasant and fun creative process.
