Muscular women fight men. A woman is a warrior and a fighter: the story of a girl who participates in battles with men

Disputes about who is better, men or women (or they are equal), have been going on for many centuries, and sports have not done without them either. Of course, the issue is still being debated, but any conversation involving gender comparison in sports must include an awareness of the following hard facts.

First, because of differences in genes, men are naturally stronger than women.
Secondly, in terms of sports, records from the Olympics dating back to 1983 show that male athletes outperformed female athletes by an average of 10% in each event.

These facts suggest that athletics, for example, may be the kind of sport where men enjoy a clear and significant advantage over women. But still, there have been several cases in history when women beat men in sports and even in some athletics disciplines.

Here are nine of the most unforgettable moments when women took over men.

1 Eater Competition: Sonia Thomas at the Buffalo National Wing Festival 2003

Sonya Thomas, a petite Korean American, doesn't look like a big eater, but she's at the top of the list of the world's best eaters. She was even nicknamed the "Black Widow" because of the regularity with which she defeats men who are five times her size. In 2003, Thomas won the National Wing Festival in Buffalo where she competed against the men and won by eating 134 wings in 12 minutes and earned 6 more titles in 2004 and between 2007 and 2011. But she didn't stop there and made a splash in the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. She never won there, but in 2004 she ate 26.5 hot dogs in 12 minutes.

2. Boxing: Jackie Tonawanda defeated Larry Rodania at Aaron Bank's Oriental World of Self-Defense Show in 1975

Jackie "Ali the Woman" Tonawanda was among the pioneers of women's professional boxing in the 1970s and 1980s. She was one of three women who successfully won a case against the New York State Athletic Commission, which licensed boxers. Jackie confirmed her legendary status on June 8, 1975, when she became the first female boxer to be eligible to fight at Madison Square Garden. Her opponent was a man named Larry Rodania. Even more astoundingly, Tonawanda won the bout by knockout in the second round.

3. Horse racing (jockey): Julie Crown at the Belmont Stakes in 1993

Even as a child, American Julie Crown was already considered an experienced rider and competed in Western Michigan, but this was not enough for her. She dreamed of becoming a professional jockey and her idol was Steve Koten. And on January 30, 1981, Crown made her dream come true by debuting at the Tampa Bay Downs in Florida. Just two weeks later, Julie won her first race, establishing herself as a rider. In 1993, Crown achieved what no woman had ever achieved before; she won the Belmont Stakes on Colonial Affair. With this success, Julie became the first female jockey to win a Triple Crown horse race. She has been inducted into the National Museum of Racing and the Hall of Fame, the National Women's Hall of Fame and the Equestrian Hall of Fame. But Julie didn't stop there. In 2003, Crowne became the first female jockey to win the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita.

4 Ultramarathon: Pam Reed at Ultramarathon Badwater 2002 and 2003

In July, the sun over Death Valley, California, is considered the most destructive and deadly, but this weather is considered ideal for one of the most difficult marathons - Ultramarathon Badwater. The marathon is over 217 kilometers long, starting at Badwater, the lowest point in North America, and finishing at Mount Whitney. Due to harsh conditions, Irina Reutovich's record of 29:48:27 in 2000 was considered unattainable. Therefore, 41-year-old Pam Reid, an experienced marathon runner, had to be convinced for a very long time to take part in the race. However, when she did it in 2002, and came first, and broke Reutovich's record by 1 hour and 52 minutes, everyone was shocked. In addition, the next competitor crossed the finish line in more than 4 hours. And Pam proved it wasn't a fluke by winning the marathon again in 2003.

5. Bowling: Kelly Kulick at the 2010 Tournament of Champions

On June 4, 2006, in New Jersey, Kelly Kulik changed history by becoming the first female bowler to be approved by the Professional Bowling Association (PBA), so she could compete in any PBA competition during the 2006-2007 season. Shortly thereafter, Kelly set her goal of becoming the first woman to hold a PBA title. And Kulick did just that at the 2010 PBA Tournament of Champions. Kelly qualified for the tournament by winning the inaugural PBA Women's World Championship and proved her worth in the prestigious competition, beating Chris Barnes 265-195 in the final. After the historic victory, Kulik beamed: "Obviously this is a turning point in my career and women's sports in general, but I really would like this sport to benefit from my victory."

6. Freestyle wrestling. Michaela Hutchison at the High School State Meet in Alaska 2006

Women fighting men? Sounds weird, to say the least. But in 2005, 17 women were eligible to participate in wrestling championships, where men also took part. However, Mikaela Hutchison of Anchorage, Alaska changed history in 2006 by becoming the first female wrestler to win a national championship with men. She got into the sport thanks to her brothers, two of whom were title holders before Mikaela became the title. However, it came as a surprise to the Hutchinsons when Michaela was able to win the final in just 16 seconds. Her victory itself was not so surprising, as she entered the tournament as the No. 1 wrestler in her weight class. Hutchinson finished the season 45-4.

7 Equestrian: Anky van Grunsven at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.

Equestrianism is one of two Olympic sports in which men and women compete against each other on an equal footing. A girl from the Netherlands named Anki van Grunsven managed to win gold at the Olympic Games three times in a row (in 2000, 2004, 2008). Even more surprising is that van Grunsven won her second gold medal in 2004 in Athens while pregnant with her first child. She gave birth to a child in the same year, and in subsequent years increased the number of her Olympic awards. To date, she has 3 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals at seven consecutive Olympic Games.

8. Auto racing: Danica Patrick Indy300 in Japan 2008

By the time Danica Patrick was named Rookie of the Year at the 2005 Indianapolis 500, the racing world knew that this woman was already a champion of sorts. However, it took a few more years for the Wisconsin-born American to finally reach incredible heights. It happened on April 20, 2008 at Indy300 in Japan. She finished five seconds ahead of Hélio Castronevis. Danika became the first woman to win an IndyCar race.

9. Tennis: Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs at the Battle of the Sexes 1973

Before retiring in 1951, Bobby Riggs was considered one of the best tennis players in the world with six major titles. He was also recognized as the number 1 tennis player for three years, this happened in 1939, 1946, 1947. However, even after Riggs stopped playing, he continued to be in the spotlight, promoting the sport and emphasizing progress in the sport. But one "cockroach" did not leave his head. All his life he believed that in tennis a man will always be much more successful than a woman. And at 55, he declared that he could beat any top female player. He was able to confirm the words by beating Margaret Court, then No. 1 tennis player, in a match that took place on May 13, 1973. However, Billie Jean King, another top female player, forced Riggs to change his mind by beating him 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 on September 20, 1973. But not everyone regarded King's victory so unambiguously, since she was 26 years old younger than Riggs and furthermore, there was speculation that Riggs intentionally lost the match to deal with his gambling debts.

Fights between a woman and a man in reality look like absurdity. To meet a fight between a man and a woman on the street is unrealistic. Of course, somewhere on the outskirts of the city or in the village among themselves.
A pretty dark-skinned girl was walking along the train car and attracted the attention of a dark-skinned Chinese. Rather, his gaze fell on a decent circumference below the back and the hand spontaneously slapped the young lady on the pope. The girl turned out to be not from a timid dozen and from a turn slapped a couple of slaps on the face of a boor. The muzhik did not expect such a daring answer; Then they got off at the station and continued to fight one Chinese with two plump fat-ass black women.

Fights of a woman with a man! In one of the Asian countries, most likely in China, people in the evening sitting at their penates peacefully watched as a husband and wife sorted out their relationship with the help of their fists. For six minutes they fought on equal terms, the woman sometimes straightened her thong from behind, probably dug into her ass when she kicked her body. In general, Asia is famous for its equality!

Fights of a woman with a man! It is interesting what served as such an analysis, when three girls attack three guys, while out of desperation even shoes went into action. The men really did not hit the women in the face, but everyone tried to grab them by the hair and throw them on the pavement. Cruelty is welcome in the states. In Russia, such treatment of women was not noticed.

Fight at Remix in Yakutsk. A crowd of tipsy men quietly and silently watched as the girl who had taken a certain amount of alcohol on her chest harassed the guy with slaps and punches in the face. Probably everyone already knew her harmful character after drinking alcohol and no one tried to reason with her, only one comrade knocked out the brawler with a blow to the jaw.

The police and the owner of a restaurant in China unceremoniously crack down on a delinquent employee. Fearing that she will be sent to prison, she only verbally responds to blows to her face and body.

The owner of the gym arranged a demonstration performance to raise funds for a trip to Rio 2016. As a sparring partner, he invited US Olympic champion Danyelle Wolf, who did not give him a chance to survive from sharp blows and be knocked out. Fights of a woman with a man!

In the city of Atyrau, the driver recorded an unusual fight on the roadway on the DVR. Four pretty girls leaving the restaurant cheerful, unexpectedly one of the ladies was hit by the shoulder of a passing guy, perhaps by accident, or maybe on purpose, unable to endure such rudeness, they decided to beat the offender. Fists and nails were used, but not everyone can endure a bottle of champagne on the head. So the feasting fun of women passed smoothly under the article of hooliganism. The man was the victim.

An enraged black man in the store screamed and threatened his fat companion, - how much you can eat, look at me how thin I am, and you already don’t go through the door. He suddenly slapped her and it was his mistake! With a mass of 180 kilograms, she pressed down on his chest and delivered several crushing blows from which he calmed down.

In Severodvinsk, where it is cold and hungry, a woman decided to warm up both internally and emotionally, taking a strong drink from the shelf and a couple of loaves of sausage for a snack. But the valiant guard of the Petrovsky store stood in the way of the unlucky thief. Where a stunning, in the literal sense of the word, a fight between a man and a woman ensued.

In one of the densely populated cities of China, on a busy street, two women, perhaps a mother and daughter or a wife and mistress, were beating a man. One pulled him by the hair, the other with a box of tangerines "hewed" the back of the negligent. The fight came to a head when the unfaithful's underpants were torn to shreds. And the man turned off the fat Chinese woman with a chair.

A lesson on how a real man should not act, or rather a boy who was beaten by a girl. A man is always right and must stand up for his right to be on top!

The brutal blows of the man plunged the woman into a deep knockout! Probably the Caucasian aksakal did not like the words of an inveterate prostitute, look and draw conclusions how not to talk to respectable people.

A fight between a woman and a man from a Brazilian film over a handbag. Guess what's in your bag or watch a movie!

A real fight between a boy and a girl, she even managed to beat him up, the fat girlfriends for some reason were for the boy!

Compilation of classic American college girls vs boys fights, "girls" start and lose!

The ten best fight scenes from films where a woman was able to give a fitting rebuff to almighty men.

In a Chinese restaurant, five girlfriends beat one disobedient one, a man came and swept away the whole caudle!

Fights of a woman with a man in India! The wife saw that her husband had been punched in the face and, like a punter, clung to the offender's T-shirt, she threw her on the asphalt and began to methodically beat the female fist on the ridge and head. The police arrived in time to calm down the fighters and dispersed the onlookers who had stopped.

Hysterical operator! Turn off the camera, call the police yourself and coordinate where he's going, if that's what you want. Why should others call? What can they possibly explain? Especially as the operator is complete shit! Yes, and drunk chickens themselves pulled the peasant.

Learn karate girls, then you will not be afraid of a half-drunk gopnik.

The lady, with slaps and punches, brings up her boyfriend that he is her personal henpecked and nothing else.

There are still “women” in Russia who, with two blows, knock two semi-strong guys into “shit” with two blows.

Fights of a woman with a man! Family disassembly at the entrance of your own house! The husband came home from "WATCH" with food and drink, and the wife asked, "What's wrong?" and it went wet!

Boxing in the life of Tatyana Dvazhdova is not the only occupation that is considered more masculine than feminine: Twice worked as a loader and handyman, participated in scores - fights of football fans.

Tatyana agreed to talk to me, although the interest of the Cosmo columnist surprised her, and also answered questions about why she enters the ring under a male name, what she considers femininity and whether men behave like gentlemen in competitions.

- How much are you training now?

- Now I went additionally to the second hall and try to train six days a week. But so far, due to an injury (a broken finger) and back problems, it has only been possible to stay in this mode for two weeks. But I know that I should not lose, and therefore I will try to keep such a schedule.

Popular

- You are very different from most women - here you participate in goals, and enter the ring with men, and work as a loader. Men's sports, men's professions... Do you have features that you consider feminine?

“Femininity is strength and fighting honor. For me, a real woman is a warrior and a fighter, so I still have to strive to become a real woman, but I'm on the right track, I'm just following my nature. I could live the same life as most women, if I had not realized in time: what is being imposed does not mean anything.

- Women who want to do boxing and other contact martial arts are scared of injuries. Are there really many?

- Yes, I had injuries: broken ribs, nose, fingers, chipped teeth, various bruises and sprains. But this is not the case for everyone, someone can practice for ten years and not break anything. I received the most serious injuries outside the ring, "on the street."

- Now you are trying to enter competitions under your own documents. It turns out?

- After my confession appeared in the media that I presented myself as a man and fought in the men's category, many organizers became even more aggressive towards me and prevented my appearance at the competitions. In September, I was already denied two open rings, once they said that they would decide on the spot whether to allow me or not - I think, just to avoid a scandal. When I arrived, they said that there were no rivals in my weight (the most common, by the way, 69 kg), but I saw a participant who was clearly in my weight category, approached him, and he said that he had a pair. I approached the organizer - he promised that he would stage the second fight with me as the last pair, but it was already clear that it would not take place. This is a common technique when they stop the scandal, making you wait for the end of the competition, when all the people have already dispersed.

The same "drain" pattern was used again in September in yet another competition, and what surprises me the most is that the president of this league is a woman. They asked me rhetorical questions why I came here, then again they said that I was on the list and my last fight. When the closing of the competition and the awards were already announced, I found out that my opponent was put with some other girl, and not for an equal fight, but for sparring outside the competition format after all the “normal” participants. I would be happy for her and support her if it didn't look like another mockery of women. When we were about to leave, one of the judges approached me and advised me to fight on the street, because here they would not allow this.

- Speaking about your participation in competitions, you characterize what is happening to you now as “bullying”. What is this about?

- From a good life, no one will forge documents and introduce himself as a man, some women in Arab countries take such measures, where they are not considered human at all.

To treat me with hatred in the sport began from the very beginning. The system did not expect the appearance of a woman like me. The stronger the opposition, the more pressure will be exerted. When I said in the gym where I came to sparring that I want to compete with everyone and do not consider the existing rules reasonable, they put me with a man 15 kg heavier, a titled athlete, and they said "knock out all the nonsense." When I arrived with the fight club for an officially sanctioned wall fight at a holiday, they pulled me out of there in the literal sense, and those who came with me just stood and filmed it on camera.

Men's and women's categories in sports are not a formality; this directly humiliates women, reflects the attitude towards them as those who are not able to compete with men. Women's sports are presented under the guise of freedom and accessibility, but in reality this is ordinary segregation, the same as the separate education that once existed.

I'm currently putting a lot of effort into getting performances and keeping up with the pressure that's being put on me. I know that this is my destiny, I can’t just give up everything, no matter how hard it is to live. If I do not influence the situation now, future generations will not forgive me. For a man to go into a fight with a woman is like stepping into the mud, “sinking down to her level”, and this needs to be changed. I receive a lot of threats in the mail because I supposedly speak badly about sports, but I will not say what is accepted. If the existing injustice is based on some rules and documents, then there should be no such rules.

- During a discussion at the St. Petersburg Sports Forum, one of the speakers said that if men fight women, then, like gentlemen, they will give in and lose. How did your competitors behave in training and competitions, who knew that you were a woman?

- Men beat women even without any sports competitions and decide for themselves who can be considered a woman and who is not, and here everything depends not on the woman, but on the man’s desire to hit - this is evidenced by the level of domestic and street violence. So that in itself is a very hypocritical expression.

As far as sports are concerned, this is an ordinary boycott, not gentlemanly, a desire to elevate oneself at the expense of another in a socially approved form. Such behavior towards a representative of, for example, a different nationality would be regarded as disrespectful and, most likely, the one who does this would be removed from the competition. Passive combat is generally a violation of the rules.

As for me, I train with decent people, they don't behave like that. It happens that, for example, I work out something, and a higher-level person simply defends himself - this is a normal working moment by agreement. But there were a couple of cases when in sparring or at some kind of detention, people tried to behave disrespectfully. I didn’t start jumping in front of them, proving something, I just transferred boxing to MMA until we were separated. After a kick to the head or a pass to the legs, they came to their senses.

- How did the people around you react when you said that you wanted to fight with men? Coach, other athletes you've trained with, friends?

- Everyone knows that I am engaged in a revolutionary struggle with the sports system. With those who do not support me, I do not communicate, and such people disappeared from the environment by themselves. My coaches are a gift of fate. They are an example and standard for me, I am immensely grateful to them for their support. This is the real strength and character - not to step aside, even when everyone is against us, to support not in words, but in deeds.

- Do you know anything about the reaction of your opponents, who found out that they fought with a woman? Or did no one ever know?

- No, I don't know anything about it. But I want to wish them good luck and success, they are worthy opponents, everything will be fine with them.

- When we agreed on an interview, you said that Cosmo is not your audience. And who is yours?

— My audience is primarily those who can influence something. These are athletes, sports officials and heads of sports organizations. But I am very glad that more and more people, even those who are far from sports, understand the absurdity and injustice of the system. This will bear fruit in a few years, because already now many women and young girls write to me that they started playing sports after reading an article about me. And, of course, my audience is future generations, because someday sport will no longer be divided into male and female.

Have you had fights with women?

“I'm always in favor of standing up in training for the experience, just like with any other person. But as such, female competition is meaningless as long as it is segregated.

Do the women you train now share your point of view? Do they also want to enter the ring with men?

- I mostly train completely beginners, and it's too early for them to think about entering the ring. And so, of course, they share, and indeed, my relatives no longer have the strength to see what is happening.

“Sport is a system that has evolved over decades and is extremely conservative. The written rules assume that men and women compete separately. What do you think can reverse this system? Whose and what specific actions?

- First of all, the athletes themselves, who should no longer be satisfied with this. I believe that someday they will decide to refuse to participate in what they are offered, and decide to fight for what they want, dare to declare their real possibilities, force others to reckon with themselves. I also count on the support of men: fair sport is a general concept. It will not be possible to remove the categories at once, a lot rests on this, including money. At this stage, you need the opportunity to officially fight in the men's category.

- Do you know other athletes who also believe that it is time to stop dividing sports into male and female?

- Adult women, over 40 years old, already former athletes, wrote to me that they really believe that I will succeed, that they have been waiting for this all their lives. I promised not to let them down.

- There is a possibility that if the gender division is abandoned, women will disappear from some sports - for example, from weightlifting. What do you think about this?

- People often ask me about weightlifting and powerlifting, but I don’t understand what’s wrong with them - these are sports like any other. I reject any idea that a woman is an inferior person with disabilities. Women have been in sports for less than a century, and their level is literally growing every month. They have a huge, undiscovered even half of the potential. In general, I think that everything is simple and obvious: if you are ready for competitions, you go to them, if you are not ready, you don’t go. I am always for the truth - honestly and with dignity to give a person a title for a real achievement, and not for an underestimated rate.

The question of whether the sport should be made general and what consequences this may lead to, I also asked several famous athletes.

Konstantin Lysenko, three-time Eastern European Shotokan karate champion, Russian professional kickboxing champion, Eurasian champion, European champion, world vice-champion and World Cup winner in kickboxing, vice-president of the Knife Fighting Promotion Federation of Russia (FNBR):

“As for my view on the question, it is as follows: on the one hand, it is simply stupid to deny the physiological difference between men and women - it objectively exists, so I consider the division of sports into male and female is correct.

On the other hand, if we postulate the equality of women and men, then the natural consequence will be to allow such equality in sports as well. I consider it justified that a third direction should appear: something like transgender competitions, where everyone will compete regardless of gender.

As for me personally, I have an idea of male and female, I would not want to change it. I wouldn't want to fight women, I'd rather love them. In my opinion, this does not degrade a woman and does not make her an exclusively sexual object. This postulates a distinction that is normative and natural, in my opinion."

Pavel Boronov, European fencing champion:

“I’m generally against all this, to be honest. This is wrong from all sides, in training we fencing with girls just for fun. I take it very negatively."
