Decorating children's clothing. How to decorate clothes? Clothing decoration with flowers, embroidery, beads, rhinestones, accessories, crochet, ribbons, appliqué

Sometimes it is so difficult to find clothes with the desired pattern, maybe because of the small selection in the store, or you yourself are not sure what you need, in this case I want to offer you. After all, if you can’t find a suitable pattern, why not make it yourself, now there are a lot of basic models of T-shirts and other clothing items for sale that can easily be turned into an author’s item, let’s get started.

First of all, you will need paints, it is best to use special ones for fabric, but if you could not get them, acrylic ones are also suitable, they are also presented in a wide variety of shades, even neon and metallic, in addition, you can use special markers, they are easiest to work with .

So, the first way is to decorate with stamps, as a stamp you can use a lot of things from ordinary use: corks, sponges, coins, feathers, school erasers and much more. For example, a charming herringbone pattern can be made using a cap and a piece of elastic. Cut out a triangle, glue it to any plastic cover for ease of use, then dip our stamp into the selected paint and apply the desired ornament to the fabric to speed up the drying process, use a hair dryer.

The second option is not much different from the first, except that we will use ready-made cylinders as a template, it can be a bobbin from toilet paper or adhesive tape, or any can, it all depends on what diameter you want to get a circle, and then a matter of taste , dip the edge in the paint and create your masterpiece.

Another interesting way is to use a hairbrush with sparse teeth, the pattern will be excellent, and uneven smudges will give the product a man-made charm.

The fourth way is to draw clear and even stripes using masking tape and a brush. How you can decorate a summer bag with your own hands is described in ours.

The fifth is practically the same as the fourth, but here we complicate the task by making crossed diagonal lines, so you can decorate the entire product or some part, for example, a pocket.

The sixth method involves using parchment as a stencil, this paper is thin, but does not let water through, so the pattern will be easier to apply, just draw the desired pattern on paper with a simple pencil with all the details, carefully cut it out with nail scissors. It remains to transfer the drawing with a sponge.

No. 7 - a chessboard, a simple and at the same time original pattern, in order to make it, again, you need masking tape. An interesting alteration from a T-shirt is presented in ours.

One of my favorite methods is the eighth one - coloring with foil. The pattern will look a little like batik, only the lines will be sharper, just take a piece of foil, crumple it a little, blot it with a paint sponge and get creative.

The ninth method is not suitable for any fabric and product, but cotton t-shirts look great - the main culprit is plain whiteness. There are a couple of ways to decorate the fabric with whiteness, or you can tie the product into knots and dip it briefly in a solution of water and bleach, then untie and rinse. Or use a brush to discolor the fabric by making splashes.

Another option is painting directly, what you will use is up to you to decide - paints and a brush or marker, it is especially nice to entrust this activity to your child.

The eleventh way is to make multi-colored splashes, using a brush or streaks.

Well, the twelfth batik is ideally used, but you can also use store-bought dyes by tying the product into knots and dipping it in solutions of different colors, the results are always different and unusual.

Many children love bright and original clothes, decorated with funny pictures, bows, pom-poms and other elements. All this splendor is perfectly combined in decorative applications for children's clothing.
Due to the variety of forms and methods of making appliqués, any everyday outfit of the baby acquires individuality and originality. And yet, with the help of the application, you can extend the life of children's clothing. After all, it's not a secret for anyone that little fidgets often spoil clothes, but the application can easily cope with this trouble by covering a small spot or hole with itself.
A wide variety of materials are used in applique for children's clothing: scraps of fabric, felt and leather, as well as ribbons, braid, lace, crochet elements, pompoms, all kinds of buttons and beads, and much more that fantasy tells. All applique elements are attached to the fabric by sewing or gluing.

Sew the details of the appliqué to the base by hand or with a sewing machine.
The fabric hearts on the proposed sample are made as follows: to the wrong side of each heart, an adhesive interlining or "spider line" is ironed. On the front side of the hearts, a buttonhole seam is made along the contour of the part, the protruding excess fabric must be carefully cut off, and then sew the appliqué with a blind seam onto the blouse.

Before you start, you need to prepare the fabric. Chintz or satin patches need to be starched and smoothed, and synthetic fabrics, batiste or lace should be treated with a gelatin solution.
When cutting out the details of the appliqué, depending on the fabric and the method of its processing, it is necessary to take into account the seam allowances of 3-5 mm from each edge of the part. If you plan to work on a sewing machine with an overlock or a zigzag seam, you will not need such allowances. When choosing threads for trimming the edge of an appliqué, opt for contrasting colors. In this case, the finished application will look more bright and decorative.

After cutting out all the details of the application, lay them out on the base and secure with pins to see the big picture.
Having decided which of the ways you will process the edges of the application, feel free to get to work. And this can be done in two ways: process the edges with a buttonhole seam, or bend the edges of each element inward and make an invisible seam along the very edge.
But if you don’t like to sew with your hands at all, you can try the glue version of the application. To do this, you need a special adhesive base "cobweb", which melts when heated and an iron. Each element of the appliqué is laid out on a glue base "cobweb" and ironed with irons. In this case, the "web" should be slightly larger in diameter than the appliqué detail itself. Carefully remove the remnants of the "cobweb" from the edges of the application. To make sure that the appliqué does not peel off, a series of invisible stitches are made along its edge.

Due to its properties, felt is very popular in applications for children's clothing. It holds its shape well and its edges do not need additional processing. Felt applications are bright and soft, not only for kids, but also for teenagers. Add a few small details to the felt appliqué and it will become much more interesting.
Volumetric applications are no less popular. Their difference lies in the fact that under each element you need to put a little material for stuffing, for example, synthetic winterizer. But such work looks even more spectacular when combined with volumetric appliqué with elements of other decorative techniques: ribbon embroidery, crochet, bead weaving.

Here are some more simple ideas for decorating children's clothes with felt or fabric appliqués.

The stern of appliqué felt is great for making soft toys with your own hands. .

If you know how to crochet, pay attention to the ideas of knitted appliqués. You can tie the machine, as in the photo, quite simply. It is knitted from several parts: body and wheels. Start knitting from the body of the machine: cast on 22 air loops and knit a row with single crochets. This will be the first row of the car body. We also knit the next three rows with single crochets.
The fifth row of the machine consists of two connecting posts and eighteen single crochets. In the sixth row, it is necessary to tie one connecting column, then single crochets, not counting the last two loops. In order to tie the car, it is necessary to knit four connecting columns, and then dial twenty-two air loops, step back from the second edge and knit two single crochets into the fifth loop. Then you need to tie three columns without a crochet. Then knit two single crochets from your loop, then two single crochets into the next loop. Next, you need to tie a single crochet, then from the next loop, tie two single crochets, knit one single crochet from the next three loops. Then two single crochets, and in the next two loops one single crochet, etc. The last loop in the row should be knitted with a single crochet. After that, you need to knit two single crochets into the base. In the following rows, you need to knit a single crochet from each loop and knit two single crochets into the warp. Subsequently, you need to dial eight air loops and knit a single crochet, attaching them to the roof, then one RLS to the roof. Now you need to turn the machine over and knit single crochets along the formed chain. At the end, you need to fix the working thread and cut it off. For the car you need to tie 2 wheels. To do this, we collect six columns without a crochet. In the second row we knit two columns without a crochet in each loop, we get a total of twelve columns. The third row is recruited in turn one RLS and 2 RLS. In conclusion, we make a smooth end of the row, we fasten it with a connecting column. To tie the headlight, you need to dial 6 single crochet, then you need to attach the connecting column to the first single crochet. After all the parts are connected, you need to connect them together. The crochet machine applique is ready!
