  6. IN toy store bought a plastic saber.
  7. Well, like everything! Our hussar was "on horseback" at the New Year's party!

Additional Information

When we were told in kindergarten that we were New Year we will be a hussar, puzzled .... not finding anything suitable on the market (our son is a little non-standard size), we climbed into the I-no to learn more about what the costume of these brave handsome men consisted of. Learned, reviewed a bunch different photos and this costume in joint creativity with our granny turned out for us. Maybe on the eve of the new year our experience will be useful to someone.

A shako is a high cylindrical cap, decorated with two tassels hanging from long braided cords.

Mentik is an upper short woolen jacket without a collar, brightly decorated in front with lace cords and often paired on the sides with copper (gilded) or tin (tinned) buttons. Along the edges of the floor, bottom, collar and sleeves, sheathed with an edge. In sleeves, over a dolman, he was put on only in cold weather. In other cases, the mentic was thrown over the left shoulder and heeled with a braided cord (mentishket).

Doloman - a cloth jacket with a standing collar, like a mentic, was decorated with cords and buttons. The dolman was fastened with all buttons and girdled with a sash or a belt with transverse interceptions.

Chikchirs are tight-fitting leggings with decorations on the front halves in the form of embroidery with a colored cord.

Boots - boots with short tops. The edges of the tops were sheathed with colored galloon and had tassels in front.

The armament of the hussars consists of a saber, a short fuzei (carbine) and two pistols. The saber is attached to the belt, which is located under the sash.

Mandatory items of the hussar are a tashka (bag), hanging on three belts at knee level, a shoulder strap

and a frog (ammo pouch).

Here is our poem:

Everyone calls me for a reason

A brave warrior-hussar.

Surprise the world

Shako, saber and uniform.

From the regiment I walked to you for a long time

And I managed to get on the Christmas tree!

It's time for kindergarten New Year's matinees and parents are looking for a costume for their beloved child. You can, of course, buy a suit in stores if you search (the fastest option is with delivery through an online store), but such suits will not be cheap. If you have basic sewing skills, then you can assemble an inexpensive stylized suit in two days off.

On step by step photo the assembly of the suit "Hussar" for a five-year-old boy is presented.:

In technical terms, such a costume is considered quite complex: it has many details, various elements of decoration and decor. But we decided not to complicate our task, but to sew a simple and dressy suit without overloading it with details.

We needed materials:

One and a half meters of red fabric (any one from which it will be most convenient to sew), about the same lining fabric. Various accessories: a thick gold cord (about a meter) for decorating a shako, a gold cord for trimming a jacket, 16 buttons, two tassels (for a shako), about two meters of gold ribbon, a zipper (30 cm.)
All this can be purchased at any needlework store at quite reasonable prices, and you can also use your old stocks “from grandma's chest”.

Next, we cut out the details of the future costume. You can use a children's shirt by outlining the necessary details of the cut on paper: back with a fold, front (2 parts), one-piece sleeve (2 parts), stand-up collar (1 part with a fold). It is convenient to adjust the sizes by trying on the nailed thing on the child. Cut out similar details from the lining fabric.

Separately sew products from red fabric and lining. Iron the seams.

Then connect front sides inside the lining and main fabric, sew to each other along the collar, the edges of the shelves.

Turn the product on the front side,

adjust the length, hem the bottom of the jacket and iron through a damp cloth. Draw a gold ribbon at the bottom. The ribbon is also sewn onto the collar. Sew on the zipper.

Design decorative cords and buttons in front of the jacket. Ready product iron through a damp cloth.

We made the shako from the same fabric. The base was cut out of thick paper (you can take whatman paper) Tula (rectangle 51 * 20 cm). bottom (circle Ø16 cm). The visor was not made
- the child was uncomfortable with him when walking and dancing. The frame was glued together, sheathed with fabric and decorated in the same tone as the jacket.

Liliana Bushueva

I recently searched the Internet for material on the manufacture of the headdress of the hussars - shako. Either the pages do not open, then there is no description. I had to analyze everything myself, choose the cheapest option making a shako. Maybe it will be useful for someone too.

Required for work:

Cardboard or paper sheet

red stuff (I took lining)

Black cardboard for the visor (you can paint the cardboard with ink on both sides).

2 buttons (you can use a large yellow glitter);

Yellow braid (you can use a ready-made tassel, you can weave a cord from yarn, make tassels yourself);

- tools: needle and thread, glue stick, stapler, scissors.

1. Prepare whatman paper 52cm * 20cm (I used paper size girth heads child about 52cm + 1.5cm per seam height shako 20cm + 1.5 cm for the hem at the bottom. Lay the place of the hem with a line inward and straighten it again. Glue the seam or fix it with a stapler, but so that the smooth part of the staple is directed towards head so that the hair does not cling.

2. Cut off the red material in the same size, only leave 2.5 cm for the bottom hem, so that the edge can then be bent inside the drawing paper so that it does not fray. narrow edges flash.

3. Cut out the bottom from the same material Approximate radius for girth head 52cm = 8.5 cm. Bait the bottom to the base material and sew. Put a piece of material on a piece of paper. Bend the edge and sew or secure with a stapler. Lay the hem of the bottom part inside.

Prepare a pattern for the visor and cut it out with a hem allowance at the junction to shako. On the allowance, we cut out small triangles so that the visor fits snugly against the main part.

You will need

  • - red jacket (mentik);
  • - red jacket (dolman);
  • - black or red shako;
  • - sultan for a shako;
  • - white or blue leggings;
  • - black boots;
  • - tashka bag;
  • - strips of fur or synthetic winterizer (white or black);
  • - 1 m of gold cord with tassels;
  • - 2 m of gold braid;
  • - 17 gold buttons for dolman;
  • - 10 gold buttons for mentic.

Instruction

Take it as a base costume and a cloth jacket or straight-cut jacket with a stand-up collar. Remove the pattern and sew from red cotton fabric top for mentic. The mentic is put on top of the dolman, it should be shorter than the dolman, without a collar, with edges along the neck, sleeves, along the shelves and along the lower cut.

Spread out a jacket or jacket, adjust the length (it should be waist-length), rip out the collar. Duplicate the details with a top of red fabric, sheathe the indicated sections with an edge of strips of fur or synthetic winterizer. On the shelves, wash double horizontal stripes from gold braid (five on the left and right shelves), sew buttons to the ends of each strip.

Sew a red cotton dolman using the same pattern (you can reinforce it with a lining). Do not forget to sew on the stand-up collar, make it 5-7 cm longer, and sew on the golden braid on the shelves in eight rows. The collar and cuffs can be cut out of black or white fabric, matching the color of the leggings, decorate the cuffs with gold braid and sew on buttons.

Make a shako from black or red fabric, you can also use artificial leather. Cut out a rectangle of fabric or leather with a length corresponding to the circumference of the head, about 20 cm high. Stitch gold braid along the lower and upper sections.

Cut out the bottom, sew it to the rectangle, then sew a longitudinal section. Reinforce the structure with cardboard. Cut out the visor from black leather, or take it ready. Attach the tasseled cord: it should cross the front of the shako from left to right, hanging freely to the peak, and the end with tassels should hang down to the shoulder. Don't forget to attach the sultan.

Make leggings based on straight-cut cloth trousers. Taper them at the bottom so that they can be easily tucked into boots. Decorate from the waist to the hip with monograms of gold braid on the left and right side.

Prepare, if possible, the rest of the details - bag, spurs. A tashkku bag is easy to make, it resembles a bag with a flap on a long belt. Make it from cloth in the color of a dolman, instead of a belt, take a golden cord. The bag hangs down to the knee and is decorated with a coat of arms or braid.

Long before the reign of Peter the Great, hussars appeared in Russia. These are people who served in the mercenary cavalry. Usually hussars were recruited from Ukrainians, Hungarians, Poles and Tatars. It cannot be said that these hussars had an orderly uniform. This concept was just beginning to emerge, and their clothes were reformed all the time.

Instruction

During the reign of Elizabeth Petrovna, the uniform consisted of a mentic, a dolman, a tight-fitting breeches, a sash with interceptions, a tashka and a fur or felt hat. The hair of the hussars was braided into two braids. And unlike the rest of the army, they wore long mustaches.

At the end of the eighteenth century, Prince Potemkin-Tauride began reforming uniforms. Now their clothes were a model: light, uncomfortable, tight, but sat without any wrinkles and folds. The hussars wore a powdered wig with braids and curls on their heads.

The next person to change the dress of the hussars was Pavel. Now their uniforms were of the Prussian-Gatchin type. Mentics and dolmans had forty-five buttons each: fifteen of them were large and thirty slightly smaller. Over time, the collars began to be made high with beveled corners. The hat had a high crown of black wool.

At the beginning of the nineteenth century, a shako about 17 centimeters high was introduced for the hussars. It was tall, almost cylindrical, slightly widened at the top and had a fastened visor. At the same time, they canceled wearing long hair, as well as powder and braids.

After 1810, collars were changed for . Now they have become standing, tightly fastened. The usual set of hussar ammunition included a "frog". It was a little tough for cartridges for hussar pistols. She was not worn with a pantalère belt over the left shoulder, positioned at the back.

Under the reign of Nicholas I, a number of changes were again made. The color of the cuffs and cuffs was set to be the same as the color of the dolmans. Wide overcoats made of red cloth with shoulder straps and collars were introduced. Since 1845, they were again included in uniforms fur hats with scales.

On campaigns, the hussars usually wore gray leggings, which had 18 buttons covered with gray cloth along the outer seams. During bad weather, each of them had a wide gray cloak with a standing collar, which was fastened with one button.

Over the next fifteen years, the hussar uniform was only slightly modified. Dolomans began to be called Hungarians. Mentics also changed slightly: they became the same color as the Hungarians. After some time, the mentiki completely disappeared. Kepi changed fur hats. Tashki were cancelled.

During the First World War, the hussars had the same field uniforms as the dragoons. And in military operations they were used as ordinary cavalry.

note

Throughout the existence of the hussars, not only some individual parts in their clothes, but the color of the uniform repeatedly changed. The following colors were used: black, white, red, blue and others.

Helpful advice

The shako served not only as a headdress. Often they kept a brush for a mustache, money, a spoon, an awl, threads and other little things.

It is quite easy to make such a Gucci-style belt with your own hands. It will favorably emphasize the line of your hips. You can wear it with jeans, as well as with a dress or sundress.

You will need

  • - leather or suede
  • - decorative cord
  • -wood beads
  • -2 small nuts
  • -2 large cap nuts
  • -glue

Instruction

We cut off two rectangles from leather or suede and draw a strip along at a distance of about 1.5 cm from the edge. We cut each rectangle to the drawn line with thin identical stripes about 1.5 mm thick. To make the lines smooth and parallel, it is better to draw them first too.

We string several beads on one end of the cord and at the end we string a nut. Glue the end of the cord to the leather fringe and wrap the fringe tightly around the cord to make a tassel. Everything is well fixed with glue.

We glue the nut and put it on the base of the brush. She should sit tight. We do the same with the second end of the cord. Belt ready!

Children's holiday, a matinee and a school play are a good reason to dress your son in the costume of a medieval knight. In a costume made by himself, the boy will definitely feel like an invincible warrior, able to protect the kingdom from insidious conquerors and huge dragons.

You will need

  • - textile;
  • - cardboard;
  • - plywood;
  • - glue;
  • - threads;
  • - paints;
  • - sewing machine.

Instruction

To create a pattern for a suit, take a jumper that is completely suitable for the child at the present time. Attach the product to a piece of velvet folded in half. To prevent the fabric and jumper from slipping on it, pin them together with tailor's pins. Carefully circle the raglan (sleeveless) with chalk, leaving a 2 cm allowance. Cut out the tunic, which, when unfolded, should be a rectangle with a cutout in the middle - the neck of the suit.

Cut the lower sections of the tunic in the form of large cloves. If the fabric is fraying at the cuts, overcast them with a zigzag stitch. To make the knight's costume tighter, sew a lining cut according to a similar pattern to the wrong side of the tunic.

To decorate the costume, cut out a cross from satin and sew it on the center of the front side of the tunic. The sides of the tunic can be decorated with braid, which will also serve as a belt. WITH wrong side the sidewalls need to be sewn on garters, thanks to which the floors can not scatter.

To make the image of a knight complete, it is necessary to supplement the costume with armor. To make a shield, take an old tray or cut it out of a sheet of plywood or thick cardboard circle. If the cardboard warps easily, glue several sheets together.

Wrap the base of the shield with metallized paper or foil. Then cut out the details of the coat of arms from colored paper (the symbolism of the coat of arms can be very diverse). Glue them to the center of the shield. To make it comfortable for the child to hold it in his hand, with reverse side attach an elastic band or strap to it. Foil-wrapped cardboard can also be used to make hand and shin guards.

Chain mail is somewhat more difficult to make. She can be tied large hook or large knitting needles of silver yarn gray color. Polypropylene twine from a hardware store can be added to the threads folded several times. Most in suitable ways sts are double crochets or stocking sts.

You can look for a helmet among old toys and slightly update it, or you can make a slit for the eyes in a knitted cap. It is best to decorate a cardboard visor with a Gothic pattern, fix it according to the principle of a mask.

Old rods, planks, cuttings, etc. are suitable for the manufacture of military guns. However, remember that they should be blunt, light, and therefore safe for children.
