Five pointed star

The easiest model to make is a regular 5-pointed star. First you need to draw a star blank on a sheet of cardboard. Draw a circle with a diameter that will then correspond to the size of the decoration. This can be done with a compass or by circling a round object. Draw a vertical line from the center of the circle to its edge. Next, using a protractor, draw radii from the center every 72°: the result will be 5 lines. Connect the points of contact of the radii with the edge of the circle through one another - the 5-pointed star is ready.

Repeat the same procedure with another sheet of cardboard. Having cut out both figures, carefully bend them so that you get 2 halves of the future three-dimensional star. Glue the parts together with tape, having first made a core: a piece of crumpled paper or fabric to give weight and volume to the star with the wire fixed in it. The other end of the wire must be brought out in the form of a spiral. It will be attached and hold the star on top.

The glued figure must be decorated. You can do this to your taste and in accordance with the chosen color. For plain material The following option works well:

  • lubricate the surface with glue;
  • sprinkle with dry glitter;
  • Sprinkle with varnish to secure the glitter in place.
  • You can glue tinsel around the perimeter.

Advice. At the stage of drawing two blanks, you can add a small “extra” piece of cardboard to each top of the star, which, during the joining process, is wrapped inside and glued. Then you won't need tape.

Two 4-pointed figures are made for it. Square sheet bend as follows: in half horizontally, in half vertically, and twice in half diagonally. Next, you need to make 4 cuts: along the line of perpendicular folds, slightly less than half its length. The resulting corners need to be bent inward and glued one on top of the other.

Glue the two halves of the star together so that its rays overlap one another. You can mount this decoration on the Christmas tree according to the diagram of the previous model.

Advice. A paper star is perfect for decorating rooms or hanging on a tree as a toy. It is advisable to use cardboard for the top of the tree.

New Year's decor is worth doing not only because of the decorations themselves. This good way spend time with your family or children and create a New Year's mood.

How to make a star out of paper: video

Need a nice star for your Christmas tree to decorate yours New Year's beauty, but you don't have one? You can make it yours with my own hands paper gold star for the Christmas tree! It doesn't take long, and if you're new to origami, this tutorial will be a nice little introduction to the wonders of paper folding.

, a section of the site where ALL homemade Christmas trees and ALL options for making a Christmas tree are presented.

Step 1. Source materials

To make the star for the tree, I used special rolling paper, which I then cut into 8.5" x 11" pieces so I could print on them. Any writing paper will work, but the thicker the better.
For coloring I used Krylon ® Short Cuts ® Gold Leaf, Krylon ® Glitter Blast, and Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss.

Step 2: Print and cut out

Download the PDF files mentioned below and print at least 5 copies. You can make 6 or 7 copies if you are new to this kind of thing. The thicker the paper, the better.
Once you have stamped them, cut around the entire perimeter and cut a small black line in the middle.
I made a template as large as I could make it for a piece of writing paper size. It will work out big star per tree, about 17" wide. Since some of the users will likely want smaller stars, I also made 2 other PDF files at 66% (11.5") and 50% (8.5") of the original size. These allows you to print a larger number of parts on one sheet. You can download star templates completely free of charge:

Step 3. Bend

The four dotted lines coming out from the top will be the folds that form the edges of the star and curve outward. The other two folds form the gluing points of the star parts and bend inward. Be careful when folding in the right place to make everything clean.
In PDF, folds are marked with red and blue lines. The blue lines are the edges of the star and the red lines are the gluing points.
Since I'm using construction paper, I used a bone to mark the fold line by pressing down on the paper. It helps a lot and only costs a few bucks.

Step 4. Gluing

For each piece, glue is applied to a small area on one side and adhered to the opposite side of the other piece. As a result, there will be one gluing point left on the almost completed star. Do this for all 5 star pieces on the tree.
Prepare all five rays of the star for work, apply glue to top part two petals of one of the rays that are now sticking out from the bottom of the star's ray. Attach these star petals to the next star ray as shown in the second picture and press together until the glue sets. Repeat until you connect all 5 rays together, like in the third picture.

Step 5. Completing the assembly of the star on the Christmas tree

The last trick is that you won't be able to put your hands in to pinch the last seam to be glued. I recommend straightening the glued petals, applying glue, and then squeezing the entire star structure so that the petals close together.
It works.

Step 6. Coloring!

For the sparkle to make the star on the tree even more attractive, I used three types of paint, in the following order:
1. Krylon® Short Cuts®
2. Krylon® Glitter Blast™
3. Krylon® Crystal Clear Gloss
As always, be sure to use the paint in a well-ventilated area. I also highly recommend using a respirator.

Step 7. Decorate the top!

I cut a small hole in the back bottom of the tree star and placed it on top. This works great in my living room since the wood is in the corner. If the tree is in the middle of the room, try cutting a notch at the bottom of the seam so that the tree trunk is directly in the center of the star.
Thanks for watching and happy holidays!

A paper star will not only decorate your home on the eve of the Christmas holidays, it will be suitable for educational activities with children. Making a three-dimensional paper star with your own hands is quite simple, and joint lessons will help develop the child’s imagination and hand motor skills.

An ordinary piece of paper can be a suitable space for creativity. Giving him the required form, the craft can be decorated by coloring it with felt-tip pens and paints. Imagination and manual dexterity will help your child create a masterpiece. This article will tell you how to make a three-dimensional star out of paper.

Required materials and tools

All the tools and materials that may be useful in work can be found in everyone’s home. Therefore, absolutely anyone can do this work. To create a star you will need:

  • paper;
  • protractor;
  • compass;
  • scissors;
  • a simple pencil;
  • decorations.

Instructions for creating a volumetric star

Start making crafts by choosing paper. For work, you can use either a regular sheet, or a bright multi-colored one with your own hands, which can be made from durable material; in this case, the craft will be quite dense, and it can be used as decorative decoration room or Christmas tree decoration.

On the back of the colored paper you need to draw a circle, the diameter of which will correspond to the size of the star. A compass is suitable for these purposes, but if you don’t have one, then you can use a saucer or other round object. After this, you need to draw a line from the edge to the center of the circle.

At the second stage, a transport ruler will come in handy. With its help, you need to mark an angle of 72 degrees from a straight line and draw a line. In this way, you need to mark the entire circle - you get five lines.

The next step is to connect all the lines into a star. In the center of the detail you need to draw additional lines as illustrated in the picture. After this, the star needs to be cut out and bent along the main lines so that the drawing faces inward. If thick paper was used in the work, then you should work much more carefully on the folds so that they are as pronounced as possible. For these purposes, you can use any blunt object (ruler, reverse side knife, etc.).

A voluminous star made of paper is made quite quickly with your own hands. Finally, you need to make a small loop so that beautiful craft could be hung on a Christmas tree or somewhere else.

Double volume

This option is a continuation of the first instruction, which tells how to make one convex part. This master class will tell you how to make double volume.

According to the previous example, two similar elements should be performed. A 3D paper star template is presented below. Its difference lies in the fact that there are additional elements, intended for gluing parts.

The elements cut out from the template need to be shaped and glued together according to symmetrical additions. All you have to do is wait until the glue dries, and the volumetric paper will be ready.

Star from book pages

And although this star looks very beautiful, many may not be happy about having to spoil books. This is not at all necessary, because they can be replaced with old magazines, newspapers or technical publications.

When thinking about how to make a three-dimensional star out of paper, first of all you should worry about the materials and tools necessary for the work. You will need a voluminous paper star; it can be made by following the master classes presented above. In addition, you need to prepare scissors, glue, and an old book.

The first step is to make a lot of paper bags. For each of them you need paper rectangle, equal to one-fourth of a book page. When many parts are ready, they need to be glued to paper star as shown in the photo. Finally, apply a little glue to the bags and sprinkle the craft with glitter.

Making a voluminous paper star with your own hands is quick and easy. To make it a wonderful decoration for a room, Christmas tree or gift, you can experiment with colors and sizes. Such elements can be fastened together using threads, glue or double-sided tape.

To decorate your interior, you don’t need to buy expensive interior decorations. You can do many of them yourself. For example, flowers and butterflies, pillows and paintings. Regarding the design festive interior, then a star made with your own hands will look great both on a Christmas tree for New Year and Christmas, and on any other holiday. It can be hung from the ceiling, placed on a table, window sill, or placed on a shelf above the fireplace.

A star can be made from paper, you can sew a pillow in the shape of a star, and having cut it out enough big size, it will work out. We offer you several options for completing and collecting the star.

You need a little experience or a man's help.

We will need:

  • plywood or fiberboard: square with a side of 40 cm;
  • round bar d=15 mm, L=1.5 m;
  • three screws or screws;
  • tinsel, rain or shiny serpentine;
  • glitter spray paint;
  • scissors, ruler, sandpaper, pencil;
  • screwdriver, glue or glue gun, sharp knife, saw or jigsaw.

To make a star with your own hands, you need to draw an eight-pointed star on a piece of plywood or fiberboard. You can directly paint it on plywood or redraw it from a stencil. Cut it out with a jigsaw or saw. Sand the edges.

Cover the star with spray paint. This should be done outside or on the balcony. Glue glittery tinsel to the star. You can paste over only the tips or the entire star.

We take the bar and screw the star to it with screws. We hang it or place it anywhere.

This DIY paper star has a simple shape and is easy to make. You will need thick paper or cardboard in two colors.

In addition to paper, we need scissors, a pencil and a ruler. Draw a five-pointed star on paper.

You can see how to draw it in the video.

You can leave it as is, or decorate it with a pattern, applique or tinsel. We cut out our blanks and make an incision, as in the photo. We insert one star into another. The star is ready.

Materials:

  • colored paper;
  • Printer;
  • glue, scissors.

Using the template, we print out the star blank. The first template is for a small star. By printing the second template 2 times and the third 1 time, you will get a large star.

We cut out the blanks and bend them along the dotted lines. Glue one part to the other. Let the glue dry. The star is ready.

Very beautiful star made with your own hands from cardboard and glitter.

  • cardboard from the box;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • Polish for hair;
  • dry glitter;
  • tinsel;
  • wire;
  • pliers;
  • scotch.

Cut out two identical ones from cardboard five pointed stars. We have already told you how to do this.

Bend the star to make it voluminous. Glue with tape. Place crumpled paper or fabric inside for volume.

So that the star can be installed as a top on the Christmas tree, we place a wire spiral inside the star. To do this, a wire is tightly wound around a stick. Cut off the tip. Compare the length of the wire and the diameter of the skeins with the size of the star.

Lubricate the resulting star with glue and sprinkle generously with glitter. When the glue dries, spray the star with hairspray to prevent the glitter from scattering. The edge of the star can be decorated with tinsel. The star for the Christmas tree is ready.

It's easy and simple to make a star from a regular bottle with a grooved bottom.

  1. We take 2 bottles with a star-shaped bottom as in the photo.
  2. Cut off the bottom so that there are no side parts left. That is, only the bottom.
  3. We cut the plastic between the bulges into a triangle. Try to do the same for both pieces.
  4. Glue the resulting stars together and attach a thread to them. You can put tinsel, glitter, beads, ribbons or sequins inside the star.

The star is ready.

The star is not just a temporary decoration. It can also be practical if it is.

So let's take:

  • fabric in two colors;
  • any filler;
  • needles, scissors, threads;
  • large button;
  • pencil, ruler, tailor's pins.

Step 1. Cut out identical triangles from the fabric with a side of, for example, 20 or 30 cm.

Step 2. Sew the triangles together, alternating colors (see assembly diagram). We sew both top and bottom.

Step 3. Sew the top and bottom part, leave a section for turning and filling.

Step 4. Turn it inside out, stuff it with filling, and sew up the remaining area.

Step 5. Wrap the button in fabric and sew it all the way through to the center of the pillow. So that it is sewn to both the top and the bottom.

Fluff the pillow. If you cut out larger triangles, you will get a floor pillow.

Such a star can decorate not only the Christmas tree, but also any door in the room.

Materials:

  • tinsel;
  • wire or hanger;
  • pliers.

We take a regular aluminum hanger and straighten it. We leave the hook - we need it.

We apply markings with a marker every 5 cm, starting from the place where the hook is twisted. Based on the size of the hanger. You can divide the length of the wire by the number of segments.

Following the marks, bend the wire in the shape of a star inward or outward.

We connect the beginning and end of the wire, forming a star. Call your husband for help - you will need strength. We bite off what is unnecessary and wrap the attachment point with tape. We wrap the star with tinsel. Glue the ends together so they don't fall apart.
