How much milk does a child eat per feeding and per day. How much should a child eat from birth to six months for normal development

Let us consider in detail, using the tables, how many grams of the mixture for one feeding a newborn and a child on artificial feeding at the age of 1, 2 or more months should eat.

Newborns up to 10 days per feeding in ml

To calculate the approximate amount of the mixture during artificial feeding according to the Filatov formula, the number of days of a child's life up to a month is multiplied by ten.

So the volume of the mixture in milliliters for one complementary food:

For example, a child is 8 days old, feeding seven times a day. 8 * 10 = 80 ml/feeding. Daily ration = 80 * 7 = 560 ml / day.

Children under one year by month

All calculation formulas show an approximate value, but it is important to ensure that the baby does not eat more than 1200 ml of the mixture per day. The table shows how much mixture in ml should be given to a newborn baby or older babies at a time per feeding.

The norm of the amount of food, taking into account the weight of the baby

For example, a 5-month-old child with a body weight of 6200 g with 6 meals a day needs:

  • 6200 / 7 = 886 ml of the mixture / day;
  • 886 / 6 = 148 ml/feeding.

There are various calculation methods that can take a long time to learn. To simplify this process You can use the online calculator, it also takes into account the weight and age of the newborn or older child.

How to calculate the daily volume of consumption?

There are alternative calculation methods, which we will discuss below. Volumetric calculation is used if the baby's body weight corresponds to the average norm for his age:

The norms of growth and weight of children, their dynamics are developed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Calorie calculation is optimally suited for premature babies and infants with low weight. Average child needs:

This method takes into account the weight of the child and the calorie content of the mixture. For example, a baby at 3 months weighs 5200 g, a mixture of 680 kcal. Calculation of the daily norm: 115 * 5.2 = 598 kcal / day. (598*1000) / 680 = 879 ml/day.

For large children with high rates of physical development, the following calculation method is used: in the first month of life, the baby should eat 700-800 ml of the mixture, and the next 50 ml should be added every month:

The calculation for weight and height is determined by the following formula: weight / height * 7.

Weekly consumption rates, namely, how many ml of the mixture a newborn or older baby should eat per feeding, based on the calculation, can be seen in the table:

How often should a baby be fed per day?

Formula-fed diet is easier to establish than breastfeeding. This is due to the longer digestion of the milk formula. This allows you to teach your baby to eat at certain hours. It is recommended to feed the newborn with formula every 3 hours, i.e. 7-8 times a day, taking into account the needs of the child.

Beyond the mix the baby should be allowed to drink water in the amount of one feeding with the mixture per day. Children 3-4 months old can reduce the number of feedings with the mixture up to 6 times. After the first feeding at 4 months - up to 5 times a day. It is important to ensure that the child does not overeat and exclude the possibility of obesity.

Whether the child has enough nutrition is determined by the pediatrician by weight and height. The rate of development should correspond to the norm for each month of the baby's life.

There is another criterion - the frequency of urination. The norm of feeding is considered if in the first three days the baby goes to the toilet three times a day, in the second half of the week - 4-8 times, from the second week the norm is 12 or more times a day. If the child pees less than the specified norm, then the food is not enough, and vice versa.

How many cans will you need to buy?

Parents who formula feed their baby often worry about the number of cans needed. After all, food is not cheap, and with the growth of the baby, the need for it will only increase. An average 400 gram jar contains approximately 93 scoops of powder. 24 of which will be required for feeding per day.

The baby was born. A happy mom has a time of worries, worries and worries. The main thing that now worries a mother who is breastfeeding is whether the baby gets enough nutrition, fatty or not her milk?

Breastfeeding

First feeding

Milk after childbirth begins to arrive usually by the fourth day. The baby is brought to the first feeding, most often on the second day. And now the young mother begins to worry that her baby will remain hungry, that there is very little milk. You shouldn't do this for several reasons:

  • The newborn is still weakly sucking his mother's breast (the sucking reflex is poorly developed), he needs to learn this, so he eats very little.
  • Colostrum, which is now produced by the mother's body, is fatty and nutritious. It contains everything necessary to ensure the full life of the newborn.
  • The volume of the ventricle in infants is still very small (on the first day, only about 10 ml), therefore, the amount of colostrum eaten per feeding is also small, about 7 - 9 ml.
  • It turns out to feed the child 10 - 12 per day, that is, for the first day the baby's norm is about 100 ml of milk.
  • You should not think that the baby will remain hungry, because there is not enough milk. It will start arriving soon. But unnecessary worries can delay the increase in lactation.

Milk rates in the first ten days

How much milk a baby will eat now depends only on its weight and age. From day to day, the volume of the ventricle in a newborn increases, and the volume of milk consumed increases accordingly.

  • On the second day, the baby drinks about 20 grams in one feeding, the daily dose is 200-240 ml,
  • On the third - 30 ml (300-340 ml, respectively) and so on.
  • For a child of the first 10 days of life, you can calculate the required amount of milk consumption for 1 feeding by simply multiplying the number of days from birth by 10.

Nutritional formula for the first 10 days: N (number of days) * 10 = one-time feeding volume in ml.

Accurate scales for measuring the weight of a newborn baby

More precisely, the volume of a single dose of milk consumed can be determined by weighing the baby on a medical scale before and immediately after feeding. The difference between the results of weighing is the volume of milk drunk by the baby. It is advisable to weigh several feedings in a row. Knowing the approximate dose ( see above standards), you will understand whether the baby is sucking his portion or not.

When and how is it better to feed a baby?

After ten days, mommy's milk will stop coming. Now the approximate amount eaten per day will be equal to a fifth of the weight of the baby.

Children's pediatricians have come to the conclusion that it is not necessary to force-feed a child during strictly allotted hours. It is better to wait until the baby himself demands to feed him. Usually this happens 10-12 times a day with an interval of 1.5 - 2 hours.

Hello girls) I didn’t think that the problem of stretch marks would affect me, but I’ll write about it))) But I have nowhere to go, so I’m writing here: How did I get rid of stretch marks after childbirth? I will be very glad if my method helps you too ...

As a rule, the baby actively sucks the breast for 15-30 minutes, sometimes all 40. It happens that the baby has sucked out all the milk, but continues to suck the breast for some time, either sucking out the last drops of milk, or he just likes the sucking process itself. Don't let him breastfeed for more than an hour.

Table of nutritional norms up to a year

On artificial nutrition

Everything that has already been said above applies to breastfeeding. What if your child is receiving artificial nutrition? How to calculate the required rate of milk or mixture?

  1. This is where nutrition is important. It is necessary to feed the baby at least 8 times a day.
  2. We calculate the norms, as for breastfeeding, but if the baby eats less often, then the norm can be slightly increased.
  3. The main thing is not to overfeed the child. After all, it is easier to suck milk from the nipple, and the sucking reflex of the baby is highly developed already a few days after birth.
  4. If you feed your baby not with milk, but with formula, then everything is even simpler - the dosage required for each age is indicated on the package (See the article about mixtures and about that).

How to calculate the daily rate for artificial nutrition?

For example: Let's use a table. The child is 2 months old, weight - 4800 gr. Daily amount of milk: 4800/6= 800 ml. Dividing by the number of feedings per day, we get a single dose: 800/6 = 130 ml. So, in one feeding, the baby should eat 130 grams of milk / mixture.

Features of nutrition with artificial feeding

  • Do not worry if the baby ate less than the prescribed norm - in the next feeding, he can eat a little more and get the right amount.
  • You should know that the ventricle of a bottle-fed baby digests food more slowly, whether it be milk or formula. Therefore, during the day you should feed after 2.5 - 3 hours, the nighttime break in feeding can be 5 - 6 hours.
  • If the baby wakes up some time after feeding and cries, do not supplement him with more. Most likely, he did not burp air, and his tummy hurts. Hold it upright. As soon as he burps the air, let him fall asleep again.
  • If he did not drink the whole norm, it is better to let him finish it a little later, when you know for sure that he is hungry.

How to determine that the child is full?

An attentive mother will determine by many signs that the baby is full:

  • He is calm;
  • Sleeping soundly;
  • Good weight gain (See article);
  • He pees regularly (12-15 times a day) and poops regularly (See article).

When a baby simply cries often, this is not an indicator of underfeeding. Most likely, he is simply tormented by gases and colic.

If your child is restless, sleeps poorly, wakes up often, weight gain is small compared to the norm, greedily pounces on his chest (or a bottle of formula), then the baby is clearly experiencing some nutritional problems and it is advisable to consult a doctor.

There are many breastfeeding tips, but don't blindly follow them. Remember that everything is very individual. Be attentive and patient, and soon your baby will establish his own, convenient for him, diet.

As soon as the feeding regimen returns to normal, you can not worry about how much your baby ate. He will eat as much as he needs.

Hello girls! Today I will tell you how I managed to get in shape, lose 20 kilograms, and finally get rid of the terrible complexes of overweight people. I hope the information is useful to you!

Since the modern approach to breastfeeding has changed dramatically recently, modern experts in their advice are based not only on the only criterion for underweight newborns. If it seems to the mother that the baby is malnourished, then there is no need to rush to include artificial mixtures in the diet, first you need to reconsider how well the breastfeeding process is organized, and be sure to take into account the following.

Different need for food

How much a child eats is influenced by many indicators:
  • weight at the time of birth;
  • well-being and condition of the body;
  • Times of Day;
  • individual needs.

If a mother gives a baby a breast, then the modern feeding technique is based solely on instinct, that is, he himself will eat as much as his norm. And milk from a nursing mother after birth and the right approach to organizing the process begins to be produced in the volume necessary for the cub, with a tendency to increase it.

The dynamics of appetite growth only in the first month has four changes:

  1. In the first three to four days in 24 hours, there is enough up to 300 g, approximately on average 30 - 40 g at a time.
  2. By the end of the first week, up to 400 g is already needed; the average single serving is 70 grams.
  3. For the next couple of weeks, the need for food is 20% of body weight, on average once 80 g.
  4. Until the end of the month, every day the baby should eat up to 600 g, up to 110 g at a time.

These figures are given according to one of the calculation methods and are only indicative, in each case there will be its own table and its required amount of mixture, milk.
If you need a combined or unnatural diet for babies up to a year, there are various methods of counting to determine the optimal amount of food.

How much should a baby eat with artificial feeding

As a rule, experts do not recommend trusting the information on the volume of use on the packages of mixtures, since they allow the presence of commercial interest at the expense of proper nutrition of children.
For artificial feeding, of course, the question of how much a newborn should eat is of paramount importance.
Consider ways to independently correctly calculate the amount .

Counting a single serving

You can find out what the norm is in several ways:

  1. Multiply the number of days corresponding to the age of the infant by ten and get the number of milliliters for a single dose. For example, a 3-day-old child needs to eat 30 g;
  2. Divide the baby's body weight in grams by the height in centimeters. For example, a cub with a mass of 3500 grams and a height of 56 cm can be satisfied with 60 grams.
  3. Divide one-fifth of the body weight of a 14-day-old or older infant by 8.

Daily rate, calculation

  1. For a child weighing less than 3200 grams, we multiply the number corresponding to how many days the child is aged by 70. And for an infant larger than 3200, we multiply the same figure by 80 (Finkelstein's formula).
  2. By the age of two months, the newborn already has a need for 800 ml. daily, with each subsequent month, he will eat 50 ml. more, that is, at 9 months in 24 hours, the amount eaten is approximately 1160 ml.
  3. There may be a correction according to the personal needs of the cub. For example, two different crumbs can eat different amounts, but feel equally great, develop well and gain weight. This is the most important thing for determining satiety. The main guide should be in the behavior and sensations of the baby during the process of eating and after. Weight gain on average weekly at least 150-200 g.
  4. Upon reaching 14 days of age, the calculation is as follows. We divide the mass of the telane-born by five, and we get the daily required dose.

How much should a baby eat a mixture with a mixed diet

Breastfeeding professionals are sure that the baby will not get more mother's milk than it should be in the body, but overfeeding with a mixture is quite likely to be quite dangerous for fragile digestive organs. In order not to damage fragile health, you should seriously consider the calculation of the dose of supplementary feeding when organizing combined feeding.
For the most accurate definition of the problem of malnutrition, in order to make an informed decision on the introduction of a mixed diet, the following measurements and calculations should be done:

  • weigh the cub before and after eating, as described above, by calculating the difference, you will get the size of what was eaten. And by adding up the data on all meals, you will determine the volume for 24 hours;
  • for a newborn up to 10 days old, multiply 2% of his weight by the exact number of days corresponding to age. For crumbs from 10 days to two months, we count one fifth of the weight.

By comparing these two indicators, you can determine whether your child needs supplementary feeding and, if so, how much. It is necessary to divide them into daytime feedings, and at night give only breast milk. If the difference is more than 50%, then the child needs artificial nutrition.

Before deciding on a mixed diet, additionally consult with a leading pediatrician about the correct introduction of complementary foods.

Now about how much mixture can be given to a child for the first time. In any case, it is necessary to start supplementary feeding in a very small dose, about 10 g. On the second day, you can double it, on the third, add another 10 ml. and so try to bring to the size required by the child. As a rule, for a monthly crumb it is up to 30 ml. for one visit. And since you should give the breast first, and then supplement, if the baby fell asleep near the breast, then you should not wake him up. It is better to once again give suck to my mother's breast. Since an important principle of mixed nutrition is the preservation of natural feeding for as long as possible.

Feeding mode

Be sure to keep in mind in the feeding mode that it takes more time to assimilate the artificial analogue of mother's milk in the body, so on average, the breaks between meals for a newborn will be longer, about three hours.

With a combined, and especially an unnatural diet, the regimen is very important. After determining the daily volume of the mixed feeding mixture, we divide it into daily meals and the break between meals must be maintained in the first month for at least 2.5 hours (at night the break can be longer). For 24 hours, the baby eats about 8 times.

Switching from natural to artificial feeding, it may take some time to establish a regimen. Try to plan to delay as close as possible to the desired hour, each time adding 10-15 minutes. Distract with fun, let me drink some water, you can take a pacifier. In no case do not let the baby cry and whine, demanding food, for a long time. It is desirable to eat at least a single required dose, then the required time will be full.

Satiety Tests

Finally, to make sure that how much is eaten is normal, you can do a few simple tests.
The amount of food consumed by an infant can be measured by weighing it before and after eating in the same clothes. The difference in weight is equal to the amount eaten. For a more accurate determination of the desired value, weighing once is not enough. In the case of infants, a single portion may be smaller, because they eat more often (about 12 times a day), and with non-natural feeding, on average, only eight times, and therefore consume less mother's milk at a time.

The second test is even easier. Do not put a diaper on your newborn during the day and count how many times you change his diaper. Normally, a milestone of at least 12 pieces should be reached. If less, then there is a suspicion of malnutrition.

During the first month of life, the baby practically does not show activity. He can only move his legs and arms a little. But this is quite enough for a small person. All the nutrients that he receives from formula or mother's milk go to growth and physical development. It won't be long before the new family member starts holding the spoon on his own and showing his eating habits. Until six months, the baby's menu does not differ in great variety.

Breastfeeding or formula?

If there is a choice: to feed the baby with a formula or breast milk, it is, of course, better to stop at the second option. Unfortunately, recently many young mothers do not want to enjoy the lactation period. They transfer their babies to mixtures immediately after discharge from the hospital. This act is motivated by the fact that breastfeeding spoils the shape of the mammary glands. This is not entirely true. Baby food at 1 month does not affect a woman's breasts at all. The mammary glands take on a different shape during pregnancy.

It is considered ideal for a child. Experts say that every woman produces food for the baby, which has unique properties and composition. And it doesn't matter how much the child eats. 1 month of breast milk feeding allows you to charge the baby with strength for the rest of his life.

If for a number of reasons a woman cannot continue breastfeeding, you should not be upset. There are many formulas on the market today that can replace mother's milk. But preference should be given only to an expensive high-quality product.

Baby always wants to eat

Many mothers complain that the child constantly cries during the first month of life. Only a mother's breast or a bottle can become soothing. Is the baby always hungry? How much should a baby eat at 1 month? Despite the fact that the baby sleeps a lot and is practically motionless, he needs good nutrition. The child eats a lot. He needs to gain strength, develop mentally and physically.

Mothers who breastfeed their babies generally do not have to worry about feeding their baby at 1 month. The baby should be offered the breast on demand. If he wants, he will eat. Breast milk cannot harm the baby. The kid can eat it as much as he wants.

With children who are on the case is a little different. The formula is a complete breast milk substitute. But eating such a plan can be difficult for a newborn's weak stomach. Therefore, it is recommended to feed the baby by the hour.

The following table is for infants under the age of six months. Mothers of babies of the first month of life can also be guided by it.

Age

Breast-feeding

Artificial feeding

Feeding occurs every 2-3 hours. Applications for every requirement. 8-10 applications per day

Feeding every 3-4 hours. Strict observance of the schedule. 6-8 feedings per day. The volume of one feeding should not exceed 100 ml.

1-4 months

Reducing the number of feedings by improving nighttime sleep. 6-8 applications per day

5-6 feedings per day. The volume of one feeding increases to 130 ml.

4-6 months

5-6 applications per day. The baby starts eating food.

4-5 feedings per day. The volume of one serving is 150 ml.

The data is indicative. All children develop differently. Some have a good appetite, while others will have to be forced. The main thing to rely on is the weight gain of the baby and his general well-being.

The child is not gaining weight

The lack of weight gain should alert the young mother in the first place. The first reason for this condition may be the fact that the child simply does not eat up. Sometimes children spend the whole day at their mother's breasts and remain hungry at the same time. If this situation occurs, then the child’s nutrition is not complete. Perhaps it makes sense to transfer the baby to a mixed diet. But in no case should you stop lactation.

Children who are bottle-fed can also not eat up. If the baby is naughty and does not sleep well at night and is considered absolutely healthy, it is worth increasing the portion of the mixture. How much should a child eat at 1 month, every mother knows. But some children may deviate from generally accepted norms.

Baby refuses to breastfeed

It is not uncommon for women to successfully breastfeed their babies for several weeks, and then the idyll is broken. The baby stops breastfeeding. There may be several reasons for this problem. The baby may or may not be able to breastfeed due to nasal congestion. In any case, you should not panic. Lactation can always be restored.

The first thing a mother should do is to find out the reason for the baby's refusal to breastfeed. If all else fails and the baby continues to refuse milk, you should contact a lactation consultant. The specialist will tell you how much a child should eat at 1 month and how to help him return to his mother's breast.

Rule out allergic reactions

The first month of life is quite common. The baby's body is rebuilt from the womb to the outside world. Even the most common foods that a young mother consumes can cause a rash in a child.

A woman during lactation should monitor her diet. Avoid spicy and fatty foods from your diet. You will have to forget about red berries, as well as citrus fruits for a while. Any product should be introduced into the diet gradually. Mom should monitor the reaction of the baby.

During the mother should also not consume chocolate and coffee. These products can be introduced into the diet a little later.

How to choose the right formula for babies?

Although manufacturers now offer high quality formulas for infants, some of them can also cause an allergic reaction. Often, the transition from breastfeeding to artificial is characterized by a change in the baby's stool. In addition, there may be pain in the tummy or constipation.

Even the highest quality formula cannot replace mother's milk. It is also difficult to answer the question, in 1 month of this or that mixture. After all, food must be offered to the baby in a certain amount. You can't skimp on breastfeeding. Moms need to choose products from a trusted manufacturer that has quality certificates. It is better to purchase the mixture in a pharmacy or in a specialized children's store.

Baby has a stomachache

Breastfeeding can be a problem for many. Especially often babies of the first month of life suffer from colic. Unpleasant sensations in the tummy can cause both the highest quality formula and breast milk. There are many drugs on the market that will help alleviate the condition of the child. But you can give them to a child only after agreement with the pediatrician.

Abdominal pain may be due to gas. During feeding, the baby swallows some air. To eliminate gases from the stomach, after each feeding, it is necessary to carry the baby in a column for 10-15 minutes.

You should not overfeed your baby. This is especially true for those babies who are on artificial feeding. When compiling a portion, the table of nutritional norms should be taken into account.

Should I give water to my baby?

Previously, water was given to babies from the first days of life. It was believed that a bottle of warm water soothes the baby. Now experts say that it is absolutely not necessary to give water to a child who is breastfed. In addition, by offering a bottle to a child, the mother risks completing the lactation process. Many babies refuse to breastfeed, as bottled water is much easier to obtain.

You can offer a little water to the baby only in the summer heat. And even in this case, it is advisable to drink the baby from a spoon. But children on artificial feeding can drink water even in winter. But the first thing a mother should rely on is a 1-month diet. After drinking more water, the baby will not want to eat the mixture.

Choosing a bottle

The success of feeding largely depends on the dishes that the mother uses. For babies on artificial feeding, these are first of all high-quality bottles. Today, utensils for feeding babies are made of glass and high-strength plastic. Preference should be given to the first option.

Glass is an environmentally friendly material. In addition, in such a bottle heat is perfectly retained. The size of the bottle should be chosen according to the age of the baby.

Why are young mothers so interested in how much milk a newborn should have? The question of how much a newborn should eat for one feeding and the table with which this can be calculated have become simply best-selling queries to search engines. Every newborn child should eat and sleep well - not only mothers and grandmothers, but also children's doctors think so. Therefore, most mothers immediately after the birth of the baby are worried, asking questions:

  • "Do I have enough milk?"
  • "Is it nutritious enough?"
  • "Is the child eating?"
  • “How much does a newborn eat, maybe you need to feed him?”

Sometimes, in order to dispel maternal excitement, and also for medical reasons, it is necessary to determine whether a newborn eats as many grams of milk or mixture as he should eat at one feeding, and how the amount eaten correlates with established norms.

With artificial feeding there is no difficulty in determining the single portion of the mixture that the newborn coped with: the result is immediately visible on the bottle with divisions.

With natural and mixed feeding for the correct determination of the volume of a single serving, it is recommended control weighing: The baby is weighed before feeding and immediately after. The difference will show how many grams of breast milk the baby has drunk. For more accurate results, consider the following guidelines:

  • use only special children's scales with a high degree of error;
  • during weighing, the child must be in the same clothes and diaper, and preferably naked;
  • the average result of several procedures performed within two to three days will be much more informative.

ATTENTION! The following methods are not informative:

  • one-time control weighing: when applied to the breast on demand, the volume eaten at one time can vary greatly;
  • pumping out the rest of the milk after the child has eaten: a flush occurs during sucking;
  • assessment of the degree of breast fullness: this is a very individual and subjective parameter;
  • taking into account the time spent at the breast and the time between attachments: these factors cannot determine whether the baby is full.

At the end of the article you will find background information, based on which you can determine how much a newborn should eat per feeding - the table will clearly show the principle of calculation and the ratio of the age and weight of the child to the approximate volume of a single serving of milk or mixture.

No matter how worried mom is, without good reason, it is not recommended to perform a control weighing. A mom's excessive concern about milk supply can actually lower prolactin production and reduce lactation.

Experienced mothers reflexively answer the question “How much breast milk should a newborn eat for each feeding?” like this: "The child does not owe anything to anyone!"

But sometimes there are situations when nutrition is really not enough, and then measures should be taken to increase the production of breast milk or introduce supplementary feeding (as prescribed by the pediatrician). Determining how much is eaten at a time can be recommended in the following cases:

  • the child cries a lot and sleeps little;
  • the increase in the first month of life is less than 100 grams per week;
  • test for "wet diapers" (the number of urination per day) showed less than 12 times;
  • control of the condition of children with low weight, who are fed artificially.

Immediately after birth

Today, everyone knows about the benefits of breastfeeding immediately after birth: the sucking mechanism starts, the baby eats droplets of priceless colostrum. But in some cases, the first acquaintance of the child with the mother's breast occurs only on the second day, so the amount eaten on the first day is not so critical.

The stomach of a newborn is very small, after birth it is only about 10 ml, which is about the volume of a teaspoon. Therefore, during the first day, a single portion of the eaten colostrum is measured in a few drops (5-9 grams). But the child should suckle the breast as often as he needs it: 10-15 times a day with the same frequency at any time of the day.

If you have to use the mixture, the newborn on the first day of life is given portions of 10 ml of the mixture, on the second day the dose is doubled.

First decade

Baby. With each passing day, the volume of the small ventricle increases, the ability to suck develops, and most importantly - milk comes to mom! Therefore, the amount of it per feeding is rapidly increasing. How much is needed for children under 10 days old can be approximately calculated using the following formula:

Single serving of milk = age (in days) X 10

For example: a child is five days old, which means that for one feeding he should eat about 50 ml of breast milk.

Artificer. The required volume of the mixture is calculated a little differently, because it is more satisfying and high-calorie than milk, besides, it is recommended to feed the mixture not on demand, but according to the regimen. The formula for calculating the volume of the mixture per feeding for babies who weigh more than 3 kg 200 g:

Single serving of formula = (age in days X 80) / number of feedings per day

For premature and small babies weighing less than 3.2 kg, multiply the age by 70 instead of 80.

First two months of life

The child is growing: the baby himself set an approximate diet (if the mother applies it on demand), the suitable mixture was selected for the artificial person. How many grams of breast milk or formula does the baby now need for one feeding?

The approximate daily volume at this age is about 20% of the baby's weight.

Single serving in 1-2 months: (weight in grams / 5) / number of feedings

IMPORTANT! If breastfeeding is exclusively breastfeeding, you should not introduce supplementary feeding yourself, without consulting a pediatrician. Overeating, the tendency to which is laid at an early age, threatens with greater complications than a temporary lack of food.

If the baby eats the mixture, it must be supplemented with water, while the volume of drinking in the above ratio is not taken into account.
